Take a paper towel and fold it. It should be an inch wide and 4-5 inches long. Take a 1-2 inch section of the hair and wrap the ends of the hair around the middle of the towel.
Start rolling it upwards until it reaches the scalp. Secure this paper towel by tying it around the hair.
Repeat the paper towel process with the rest of the hair.
Sleep with these paper towels and undo the towels the next morning. Finger comb the hair.
Finish with some hairspray.
4. Try out the sock method.
Using a sock is another way to get gentle waves. While it is being curled, your hair will look great.
What You Will Need
Bobby pins
Hair tie
A sock
Hairspray
A pair of scissors
Method
Dampen your hair using a spray bottle.
Squeeze out excess water using a towel.
Pull your hair together to make a high ponytail and tie it with a hair tie.
Take a sock and cut the toes off. Roll it up into a doughnut shape.
Through the hole of the sock, pull the ends of your hair.
Next, wrap the ends of your hair around the sock. Roll the hair up until it sits properly against the scalp.
Secure your hair with some bobby pins.
Once your hair is fully dry, undo the bun.
Finally, undo the sock-bun and the hair-tie. Finger comb your hair and use some hairspray to set your hair.
5. Go for Bantu knots.
It is another styling technique that works well with all hair types. This will give you some perfectly defined curls and can calm your frizz.
What You Will Need
Bobby pins
A towel
Shower cap
Hair spray
Hair gel
Shampoo and conditioner
Method
Wash your hair and condition it.
Let it dry for some time, gather a 1-2 inch section of your hair and start twisting it until it looks like a rope.
Twist this section very tight around itself so that it looks like a small bun.
Secure the hair with a bobby pin.
Repeat the twisting process until your hair is up in these knots.
Wear a shower cap so that you can leave it overnight.
The next day, take the cap off and let your hair dry.
Undo the coils, one-by-one, and finger comb the hair.
Finish it off with some hairspray.
6. You can also try the headband method.
This is another very smart method to have perfect beach waves and curls.
What You Will Need
Headband
Sea-salt spray
Blow dryer (optional)
Method
When your hair is slightly damp, wrap a headband around the head.
The hair should be sectioned into half and start wrapping it around the band on your head.
Pin your hair and secure it in place when you get to the end of your hair.
Do the same thing for the other section and pin the hair in place.
To speed up the drying process, you can use the blow dryer on a cool setting.
When your hair is completely dry, unpin it. Let your hair down.
Finger comb your hair and scrunch your hair. You can use sea-salt spray then scrunch your hair.
7. Go for twist buns.
This is another easy way to curl your hair or to get some quick beach waves.
What You Will Need
Hair ties (2)
Sea-salt spray
Method
Dampen your hair by using a spray bottle or washing it. It is better to use volumising shampoo while washing your hair.
To create two sections, part your hair down the middle.
The first section should be then gathered into a high pigtail. Start twisting until the hair resembles a rope.
You should keep twisting the hair until it reaches the end.
Secure it using a hair tie.
Repeat this twisting and tying process with the other section of your hair.
You could also wear it for a few hours and wait for the hair to completely dry.
When the hair is dry, undo it and finger comb the hair.
Finish it off using some sea-salt spray and scrunch.
8. Use Velcro rollers.
Velcro rollers are a great option to curl your hair at home and to save it from heat damage.
What You Will Need
A towel
A comb
Velcro rollers
Hairspray
Method
Use the volumizing shampoo to wash your hair or dampen it with a spray bottle.
Use a towel to squeeze out the excess moisture from the hair.
If you have really thick hair then section it and roll it upwards using Velcro rollers. If your hair is fine, then you can skip sectioning.
Make sure you roll it upwards until it sits snugly against the scalp.
To secure the rollers you will not need pins. If the roller is not sticking properly then the reason might be that the section you have taken is a little thick.
Leave the rollers in your hair for a few hours or until your hair is dry.
Undo the curls and finger comb the hair. Finish it off with hairspray.
9. Pin curls
You can curl your hair with this option too.
What You Will Need
A Wide-toothed comb
A towel
Hairpins
Hair gel
A cotton scarf
Hairspray
Method
Wash your hair with a volumising shampoo and condition it. While you condition, detangle your hair with a wide-toothed comb.
Gently squeeze the water out using a towel.
Apply some hair gel or any product on your hair.
Section out the crown of the hair and secure it with a bun. You will be working on this section in the end.
Take a 1-inch section of the hair from the side. To create a loop, wrap the end around your index finger. Hold your hair in place using your thumb and index finger.
Start rolling this section upwards until it sits against the roots. Make sure that you are rolling the hair away from your face.
The rolled up hair must be secured with a pin. Your hairpins will leave indentations in your hair if the sections are too thick.
Repeat this rolling process for the rest of your hair. When you are done with the bottom, work on the crown until all the hair are secured in pins.
To keep the pins in place, wrap your hair with a silk scarf and go to sleep. The scarf is used to help absorb moisture from the hair.
Undo the curls in the morning. Only when the hair is completely dry, you should remove the pins. Do not use a blow dryer.
Once you have removed the pins, finger-comb your hair. Use some hairspray for a little extra hold.
With these methods, you will have beautiful curls and you won't damage your hair at all. These methods will give you results that will last up to 3 days. Try out these easy methods to curl your hair.

For Marinating Chicken
500 gm chicken
1.5 tsp turmeric
2 tsp chilli powder
1.5 tsp salt
1.5 tsp lemon juice
2.5 tsp yoghurt
For The Gravy
3 onions, thinly sliced, dry roasted on a non stick tava and ground to paste
2 length wise slit green chilli
½ tsp shahijeera
1 bay leaf
1 inch cinnamon stick
4 cloves
1.5 tbsp oil
1.25 tbsp ginger garlic paste
For The Masala Paste
1 tsp coriander leaves
a few mint leaves (optional)
¼ cup water
1 tsp flaxseeds
4-5 cashew nuts
1 tsp desiccated coconut powder
¼ tsp poppy seeds
Others
1 tsp garam masala
1.5 tsp coriander powder
½ tsp cumin powder
Method
Step 1
Heat oil in a saucepan and add shahijeera, bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves and ginger garlic paste. Let it brown for few minutes on medium flame.
Step 2
Add the onion paste and fry till the paste starts leaving oil.
Step 3
Add the marinated chicken and stir well till the chicken gets coated with the onion paste.
Step 4
Cover it and let it cook dry for 10 mins. Now add 2 cups water and let it cook well.
Step 5
In the meantime, make a paste with the ingredients listed under ‘for the masala paste’.
Step 6
After 10 mins, add the masala paste, garam masala powder, coriander powder, jeera powder and check the consistency of the gravy. If you want it thick then don't add water, if you want the gravy to be a little runny, add water as desired and check the seasoning as well as the doneness of chicken.
Step 7
Serve it hot with roti, rice or dosa.
