Picking the Restaurant
Work with your little one to know what kind of food does she feel up to. It’s easier to have her co-operation when she knows she has chosen the place, cuisine or something important. Each member can take turns in choosing a place.
Once she has expressed her wish on the cuisine, look at your options and pick a place that is child-friendly, such as having some table-top puzzles, games or place to lounge in. In fact, make sure of the amenities by calling up the restaurant before paying a visit and also make a reservation beforehand. Our Words Affects Our Children
As the description goes, better late than never! It is about my self realization that how our words effect our children, be it positive or critics. Kids are always listening to us, even when stubborn, but they are listening. Our harsh words/pulling them down can effect their health badly, which in turn will lead to poor eating habits, poor concentration and lack of confidence.
Homework should be done in a classroom style, where teachers are kids and students are the parents. They must take us through what happened in the class today and what/how did teacher explain the subject. Same way they must decode it to us. This will not just be a recap for them but also they would develop speaking skills and confidence.
It so happened that I sometimes used to get very cranky with my son and misbehave with him, when he dint listen to me or repeated the same mistake. But soon after that I felt very bad and said him sorry. N he replied 'its ok amma'!! Thats the love and forgiving nature our kids have towards us, but we should not exploit it. I learnt that kids are as delicate as an icecream. Freeze the love but dont let them melt away by anger.
Recently he had high fever n so I took him to dr. After his checkup I raised a concern with docter, that he does not have anything spicy at all, may be he is weak and anemic. Also i mentioned to him about his non spoken n nonalarming nature to susu-potty while at school. Dr. Explained that he must be shy n couple of advices.
After coming back home my son did mention that he wants to go to the loo. N the next day he took a packet of spicy namkeen chuddva snack, n was eating it. I could see that tears were rolling under his eyes and his tongue was having blister ulsars. But still he was having it. When I asked him to stop having it. He replied ''no amma I love spicy' and repeatedly when I tried stopping him. He finally said, amma tell dr. That i did susu potty in washroom and I love spicy food!
