Consult your doctor to ascertain if you can give acetaminophen or ibuprofen for pain or fever. Also, check for the right dose.
It is important to always vaccinate your children, whatever the circumstances. Further, please remember that while vaccines have some mild side effects, they absolutely do not cause autism, whatever you might hear.

Independent Eating in Young Children
Teaching 3-year-old kids the right ways of feeding saves mommy-time and makes kids independent. Once your baby starts taking food, adopt these self-feeding tips for preschoolers. Begin early on. You will see him develop a fond bonding for food by self-feeding in style!
Parenting a preschooler is a full–time job that requires patience, hard work, and plenty of expert tips- right? This is especially true for those long-drawn meal times that make you sit and cajole your little one to finish. Given here are simple yet effective tips that teach your child how to eat independently and happily. Do keep your little one's plate, spoon, fork, mess rug, eating chair, table, napkins, and some teaching time at hand!
Teaching Young Children to Eat Independently
1. Getting Seated
The first thing in helping kids to eat on their own is getting them seated comfortably and confidently. Invest in a high chair, or a set of baby chair and table for inculcating healthier eating habits and fun in your efforts. Remember to keep a mess rug under the chair. However hard you may try, you'll have to deal with spills and droppings!
2. Give Choices- At Least a Few
Your three plus year old likes some food preparations and goes “ugh” at the mention of others. Respect his opinions and food preferences. Take mutual decisions regarding what to feed, the time spent on feeding, who does the feeding, and so on. Apart from giving your kid a sense of independence and control, you can also help him learn how to sample different foods, textures, and tastes in these sittings.
3. Keep Favourite Cutlery Ready
While learning to self-feed, children love to have their favourite eating aids at hand. Be it a brown wooden spoon with a wide curved handle for easy eats, or an acrylic multicoloured fork that keeps the attention away from boring food, you cannot ignore the need for such aids. Buy spoons with deep bowls and blunt forks that keep food from falling off.
4. Teaching The Use of a Fork
Once you have a safe child fork, try placing it on a plate foods like cheese, banana, chicken nuggets or other fruits that are easy to pierce. Noodles and pasta are soft too, but turn out to be messy as they tend to slip easily. Keep motivating and enabling correct eye-hand movements to stop fall-offs from the fork. These are some of the best ways of helping kids to eat independently and neatly.
5. Allow Space for Imitation
While helping your child practice self-feeding with easy-to-eat finger foods, try taking small bites alongside. Along with observing the right ways of eating at a table, your child will also learn the adorable art of lip-smacking and making cute faces while eating.
Worried about your kid lagging behind? Don't. While your neighbour’s son can fluently eat a cabbage salad at 3-years of age, yours may take slightly longer. There is no single answer to the common query that goes "At what age does a child start eating independently?" Here, regular practice is what helps! Read more

4 Effective Ways to Create Savings for Children
Making the conscious effort to save for your child’s future can be worrisome and requires consistent efforts. The question that pops up frequently is, "How to save money for kid’s future?" Taking help from family members who are good with finance is a great start too.
Want to secure your child's future and feel financially liberated? Well... we give a few smart options that will go a long way in sheltering you and your child for a rainy day. Involve yourself in fixing a long-term saving goal that is stable, viable, and benefitting. There are a few easy money saving tips that can help you get started in the right direction. Follow these, and fulfil your dreams of sending your child to the best college; give him a future that you'll be proud of, courtesy your efforts.
Money Saving Tips for Kids' Future
1. Get an Early Start
For any saving venture, the key is to start early. It ensures that your kid has enough when he's old enough for school and college. As soon as your child is born, start saving a small part of your earnings for him. Over the long haul, it will become a substantial investment. A little goes a really long way in this case. However, one does not really have to cut costs to save aggressively. It does not make much of an impact. Initially, saving just 10% of your earnings is good enough.
2. Consistent Savings
Before you start saving for your kid, choose a certain amount that you will be willing to put aside every month. Maybe after a year or two, try to increase the saving amount by a small percent and as per your capacity. This should really make a difference by the time your child is old enough to make use of it. Small increases in the amount of money you invest in a month will not take a major toll on your finances. You wouldn't even feel it. The amount, when increased slowly, will amount to something truly significant in the long haul.
3. Tax Saving Advantages:
If the money you are saving will be used for college or studies beyond that, one can make full use of funding avenues that come tax-free. Tax-free? Yes, you heard that right. Investing in savings bonds or opening an educational savings account will really be beneficial for your kid. However, the big catch is that these savings will and can only be used for educational purposes. But, they can be used for a number of academic courses, not restricted in any way. Since majority of courses cost a fortune in today's time, taking advantage of these options will hold you and your child in good stead. Make sure to consult a financial advisor before making any investment. It's a smart thing to do.
4. Teach your Kids a Lesson About Saving:
Bringing up your kids the hard way will instill in them a sense of responsibility and good values. If you hand everything to your child on a silver platter, chances are that he might not value everything that he gets. Even though you might have the resources to start a college fund for your kid, get them involved in the saving process for their future. Ask him to contribute as and when he can. Give him a piggy bank. When he gets involved in the process, he will learn to not just value money but also respect the benefits he will reap in the future.
These money saving tips for your kid's future should be implemented as soon as he takes his first step. With expenses growing by the day, it is imperative that the saving process begins, sustains, and remains consistent. Implement these saving tips, and give your child a financial shield that will safeguard him at all times. Read more

Ways to Handle Breath Holding Issues in Toddlers
Breath holding problems in your toddlers can be quite traumatic to witness and handle. Although it poses no serious health threats, it can be quite alarming and stressful to deal with. Here are some guidelines to understand breath holding in your child and learn how to deal with it.
What is Breath Holding?
The term breath holding is used to describe a situation where your child literally holds his breath back and stops breathing, until he loses consciousness.
Why do Kids Hold their Breath?
Your child is most likely to hold his breath when he is irritated, angry, frustrated or is going through a traumatic situation. Remember that in a majority of cases, your child is not holding his breath intentionally; it is often triggered by an involuntary response system in him.
Causes and Symptoms of Breath Holding in Toddlers
Breath holding in kids can be broadly divided into two types. The first type is called ‘cyanotic breath holding’. In this case, breath holding is usually in response to a situation which upsets, angers or frustrates your child. You can usually predict such attacks if you observe your child and find out what triggers such strong emotions in him. Another telltale sign is when you notice your child’s face slowly turning “purple with rage”.
The next type of breath holding is termed as ‘pallid breath holding’, where the child might hold his breath due to fright, or from being startled. In this case, you will see that the child will turn deathly pale during the course of the episode.
In breath holding episodes, it is normal for a child to lose consciousness and turn blue due to lack of oxygen. In extreme cases, the child may even exhibit seizure like symptoms. Such episodes usually last for less than a minute, and in most instances, the child will start breathing deeply and come to his senses again. He may be upset, and may not remember the episode at all.
How to Handle Breath Holding Issues in Toddlers
Handling a breath holding episode can be very stressful for you as a parent. But it is imperative that you know how to handle such episodes in the right way. The first and one of the most important thing to remember is to try not to panic. If your child is having a breath holding episode, roll him over to one side, check his mouth for any object that may cause choking. It is a good idea to learn basic CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) to administer it in cases where you feel that the child is taking time to breathe normally.
Tips to Prevent or Limit Breath Holding Spells
In many cases, it is possible for you to prevent a breath holding spell by simply observing your child and finding out what triggers such an event. Train your child to discipline himself, and teach him ways to calm himself down if he encounters a potentially unnerving situation. When he gets angry, counting to five, and taking deep breaths can help your child. Engage your child in soothing activities like music, free play, stories, or whatever he loves doing.
Seeking Medical Help
It is always a good idea to consult your doctor if you find the breath holding episodes to be persistent. He may be able to rule out any other underlying medical conditions that may have been overlooked. He can also advise you on the proper course of action to follow.
Most children outgrow breath holding by around five years of age. Even if your child has this condition, always keep in mind that it is only a passing phase and poses no serious threats to his health. Support your child, encourage and help him deal with this issue constructively. Read more

How to Raise Your Child to Be Independent, Happy, and Confident
"Please repeat". "You are wrong, listen to me", these short sentences may be a small statement for us but it causes a powerful impact on our children. By saying these, we are smothering the thinking, questioning, curiosity and independent cognitive skills of our budding wonders.
Instead, we can rephrase the same by saying: you are doing so well, can we try a new way now or I am all ears to your point of view but after I have listened to you would you like to give me two minutes.
Instead of trying to force-feed the daily routine homework or classwork, try to give a break to your child by letting them play with their age group children develop their own language, their secret codes, their way of speaking, and thinking.
Then you may intervene and say "Oh that's an interesting thing to do. Have you learnt it from your friend? Will you teach me how to do this?". By saying these simple sentences, your little wonder will develop a sense of achievement and accomplishment.
Instead of saying - "just finish this fast", try and say, "would you like to take a 5-minutes break before you try again?". "Why don't you teach me your way, then 'Ill try introducing you to how I have learnt from my parents."
From my experience, I have seen my child stay happy when she spends more time in physical activity than she spends quality time on her academics. Like we try and nourish our babies with proteins, carbohydrates and vegetables, we should strive to nourish their minds with fun, frolic, poems, stories, hide and seek, playground squabbles and lots of monitored playdates. We remember our childhood filled with lots of stories, fun, and frolic with siblings and cousins. Don't our children deserve a slice of that similar piece of heaven? We can try and create that similar atmosphere with a little extra effort on our part.
A healthy mind and healthy body make a healthy soul and a happy future. Every day we should remind ourselves that the key to a happy child is a happy and patient parent or parents.
Happy parenting!
