Start Every Day With This 10-minute De-stressing Habit for the Sake of a Healthier Mind
Have you all seen a recent ad where the lead protagonist is a super busy mom, juggling her son’s homework and her daughter’s music lessons at the cost of her own needs, day in and day out? Though depicted comically, that ad pretty much summarises the modern parent - constantly busy with ten things to do at once, whether it’s things at home or work. The amount of stress you’ll be dealing with on a daily basis is no joke and if you haven’t yet taken any measures to bring down your stress levels, well, what better time to begin than today!
What’s This Mysterious Stress-buster That Will Only Take 10 Minutes of Your Day?
We know things like a healthy diet, plenty of exercise, and meditation are key in bringing down stress levels because it has been preached plenty of times. That’s not to say those things don’t work; in fact, they present the best results of all! But when it comes to your packed schedule, certain quick-fix measures may also need to be adopted. And that’s where doing this 10-minute activity at the beginning of the day is going to help you. Nope, we’re not talking about a quick workout here - we’re talking about the totally underrated habit of ‘journalling’!
Not exactly what you were expecting, right? But read on to find out why and how this should be a habit you must practise on a daily basis!
6 Reasons Why You Should Start Maintaining a Journal
Simply put, journalling basically means documenting different activities of your day or your feelings or anything that you would like to express, in a written format. There are neither prescribed rules for journalling nor do you have to be blessed with extraordinary writing prowess to maintain a journal - feel free to write to your heart’s content, just the way you want!
1. Journalling Helps You Explore Situations Differently
Stress stems from a variety of situations, one of them being the multitude of things you have to handle emotionally, physically, professionally - the works! There’s a lot of things that may seem hard to handle simply because you don’t understand what’s going on, why it’s happening to you, or because you have a constantly running train of thoughts in the first place. Journalling helps you collect those thoughts in one place and once you’ve written them out, you’ll be able to get a clearer picture of the various things in your life. You’ll see different sides of the same situation, re-live something with a fresh perspective, and thus, be able to handle similar situations better the next time.
2. It Makes You Realise Everything You Have to Be Grateful for
Maintaining a separate gratitude journal aside, journalling gives you the opportunity to understand everything you’re blessed with in life. You’re probably going to write about how managing your career and household duties get taxing sometimes, or how that PTA meeting is coming up in your child’s school, or about that big presentation due at work. While these seem like incredibly stressful situations to handle, reading through these entries with a calmer mind will make you realise how you’re so lucky to be able to perform these different responsibilities and are blessed with a loving family. And if you were to feel otherwise, at all, well, the next point is for you!
3. Journalling Helps You Identify Your Stress-points Better
Rather than spending your time in muddled confusion over the root cause of your problems, journalling your daily battles will help you prioritise what your main concerns and fears are. By doing so, you’re able to gain a clearer picture of the actual issues you’re dealing with, which gives you a starting point to work on getting rid of them!
4. This Habit Will Help You on Your Journey of Self-improvement
Not only does it gather all your causes of stress in one place, but journalling also brings together your emotions, plans, and goals. While you may express some of these as actionable items, some things you write may later reveal themselves to be because of an underlying frustration or wish! Either way, you get to see a lot of your dreams take the shape of actionable plans once you start writing them out. You also tend to see changes in the way you used to approach a particular situation; what you do once you have clarity may be the complete opposite (and positively so!) of your earlier reactions!
5. Journalling Helps You Embrace Creativity
No ‘staying within the lines’ or ‘using Royal Blue ink’ only rules to be followed here! Journalling lets you write without inhibitions and lets you accompany your words with doodles and colours; just the way you want it, in short! Not only will putting pen to paper improve your writing skills and penmanship tremendously, but you’ll also get to explore and enhance your artistic side - yes, just like your kids get to do. Also, watch out for all the different ideas your mind will now be free to create and explore!
6. Journalling Even Helps With Physical Ailments
A study has shown that maintaining a journal can help wounds heal faster, not because of the physical exercise of writing involved, but because writing actually led to a change in their mindset. Similarly, maintaining a journal for the food you eat or the different physical activities you do can also help you keep track of your health carefully - if you are conscious of what’s going into your body, you’ll be able to pinpoint the cause of any unexpected troubles!
How to Maintain a Journal
Yes, we did say there are no rules, and we stick to that. Simply treat the following as guidelines to get the best out of your journalling habit!
1. Choose the Right Medium
As much as writing the old-fashioned way is truly the best, it may not be appropriate for everyone due to various reasons. You can alternatively try online journal sites and apps or blogging as a medium to express your feelings. Choosing the right medium is important to ensure that you stick to this habit!
2. Spend 10 Minutes in the Morning to Start This Habit
Why in the morning? When you wake up, there are so many things that are scrambling about in your mind, all calling for your attention; about 5 minutes after you open your eyes, you’re running about for others’ needs! Well, use this activity to gift yourself some me-time. Wake up a little earlier if you have to, but schedule a time and start your day by writing out things like what you’re feeling, what are your goals for the days, what’s something you can’t wait for to happen that day, and so on. Ten minutes into writing, you’ll realise that your day looks much more sorted, and your incredible mound of duties looks much more achievable. Some people also find that penning down the dreams they’ve had can give them clarity on what they might be feeling on a subconscious level as well. As absurd as dreams can get, they sometimes hold clues to deep-set feelings and emotions you might want to deal with.
You don’t have to stick to a time limit though - this is for those who need a starting point for their new habit. If you have more time to spare and much more you want to write, go for it, by all means!
3. What You Should Write About
This comes down to a personal preference at the end of the day, but there are different approaches to journalling you can try. A gratitude journal requires you to list things out that you’re grateful for, while a bullet journal is best for those who love to stay organised and on top of their daily tasks for the day. There’s also the regular diary-writing style that lets you have a free-hand with whatever you want to express. Explore different styles and find out what works best for you!
4. Reflect on Your Previous Entries Once in a While
Every so often, go back a couple of pages and look at what you’ve written. This helps you understand your emotional (and other) state of mind at a particular point, and how far you’ve come since then or how much further you need to come. Use the journal to assess if you’re moving in the direction you’d like to be headed in.
Ensure that you don’t pressure yourself when it comes to maintaining your journal. Let your thoughts flow free and fast; just catch them as they come and write them all out. Start off with your journal right away and when you read all your entries on December 31st, 2019, you’re sure to thank yourself for sticking to this habit!

13 Beautiful Tattoo Ideas for Moms To Permanently Ink Your Love For Your Child
A tattoo is as immortal as your love for your child. Here are some fabulous tattoo ideas for moms to wear your heart and love for your child on your sleeve!
Tattoos are perhaps the only worldly thing that you can actually take with you to your deathbed. They are permanent, eternal, and hence used by many as a form of individualism and expression. Getting a permanent tattoo can be a big concern for many people – how can you get something inked on your body permanently, forever, which will never change, when life itself is so dynamic?
But there are some things that never change in life – your love for your child is one of them. You may temporarily be enraged by the things your child says or does, but nothing they ever say or do will ever make you not love them or not care for them anymore.
So why not turn your love for your child into a tattoo?
13 Tattoo Ideas for Moms to Declare Their Love for Their Baby!
Here are some unique and cool tattoo ideas for moms that will help you profess your eternal love for your child to the whole world!
1. Name Ambigram
An ambigram is an image that looks upright even when it is turned upside-down. For example, if you turn a square upside-down (i.e. if you rotate it through 180o), it will still look like a square. But if you turn a triangle resting on its base upside-down, it will now rest on its apex.
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="430"] Source: http://www.tattooshunt.com/tattoos/ambigram/page/623/[/caption]
Not only images, but even letters can be made to look like an ambigram. The above image reads 'rahul' whether it is correct side up, or upside down. You can get a similar ambigram of your child's name and your name designed and then tattooed on your wrist or arm.
2. Roman Birthdate
The birth of a child marks a significant day in your life – it is the day that gave birth to you as a mother, along with your baby being born too. A day that changed your life forever. You can get the birthdate of your child as a tattoo. To make it more interesting, you can write the birthdate in Roman numbers, or binary code.
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="430"] Source: http://www.thetattoohut.com/pin-up-calendar-ideas/cGluLXVwLWNhbGVuZGFyLWlkZWFz/[/caption]
Calculating a birthdate in roman numerals may be difficult. So here's a chart to simplify the process. If the birthdate you want to get tattoo-ed is 30th November 1988 (30.11.1988), it will be –
XXX.XI.MCMLXXXVIII
30 = XX
11 = XI
1988 = 1000 + 900 + 80 + 8 = M + CM + LXXX + VIII
3. Name in Infinity
They say - “Once a mother, always a mother”. Now that you are a mother, there is one person in your life that you will always love. Your child is one person in your life who is never going to be without your care and attention. If there is a time when women understand the meaning of the word 'forever', it is after they become mothers. So why not put your infinite love for your child into a tattoo?
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="430"] Source: https://www.fashionlady.in/best-infinity-tattoos-that-you-can-never-say-no-to/36323[/caption]
You can insert your child's name into the infinity sign. This is a very symbolic tattoo and will show just how much you love your child!
4. Sound Wave
When you record sound, digitally it looks like a 'wave' – much like the wave formed by a beating heart on an electrocardiogram. So why not turn that into a tattoo?
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="430"] Source: http://nextluxury.com/mens-style-and-fashion/soundwave-tattoo-designs-for-men/[/caption]
You can get your child to say your name, or say that she loves you. You can even tattoo the sound wave of the first time your baby chuckled, or even your baby's first cry as she was born in the hospital.
5. Heartbeat
Another popular trend among many parents is to get their child's heartbeat tattooed on their wrist. What could be more singular than your child's heartbeat?
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="430"] Source: https://www.pinterest.com/[/caption]
You can make this one more interesting by adding your child's name, initials, or any other special details in continuation of the heartbeat.
6. Fingerprint
Those tiny hands and feet, those tiny fingers and toes of your baby are one of the cutest things that any and every mom loves to observe and keep staring at for hours together. Fingerprints of your child can make for another singular tattoo idea.
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="430"] Source: https://www.pinterest.com/[/caption]
7. Mommy and Baby Animal
If your child is old enough to have a favourite animal by now, you can get a cute cartoon of the animal tattooed. Mumma and baby elephants, mumma and baby squirrel, or a dog and a puppy, cat and kitten... you get the drift.
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="430"] Source: https://www.pinterest.com/[/caption]
8. Your Honeymoon Date/Date of Conception
Confused? Well, every couple likes to track back the moment of conception of their child, once they find out that they are pregnant. And because that was the day that your child was 'created' so to speak, doesn't it make that day a special day? While it may be difficult to pinpoint the exact date of conception, we are sure you can make a pretty good guess. ;) The date of conception of your child might hence be a great tattoo idea. It will also be unique!
9. Portrait
A really skilled tattoo artist can tattoo your baby's portrait on you! Nothing better than having a picture of your baby on you forever, no?
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="430"] Source: http://www.inkedone.com/tattoo/child-portrait-by-valentina-ryabova[/caption]
10. Your Child's Drawing
Do you remember what your child's first drawing was? Was it an apple? A tree? A bird? You can immortalise your artist's first creation by getting a tattoo made out of it.
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="430"] Source: https://www.pinterest.com/[/caption]
11. Matching/Coordinated Tattoos
If you are daring enough to think about getting a tattoo for yourself we are pretty sure you'll be cool enough to allow your child to get a tattoo too when she grows up. If yes, you can get matching or coordinated tattoos with your child!

A spool of thread on your wrist, with a thin cord of thread trailing onto your daughter's wrist, could be a great symbolic tattoo depicting your unbreakable bond. You can get a meaningful quote written partly on you, and partly on your child (as shown above). Get your tattoo now, and you can urge your child to get theirs when they grow up.
12. Minimalistic Tattoo
A minimalistic tattoo is all about symbolism. Essentially, it is a very small tattoo, that holds deep significance to you, but may look very simple and ordinary to people.
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="430"] Source: https://www.pinterest.com/[/caption]
One of the easiest to think of minimalistic tattoo idea is to simply get your child's initial tattoo-ed on you. Another idea could be to get a tattoo that explains the meaning of your child’s name. For example, if your child's name is Tara, you can get a small star tattoo. To make it more significant, you can get it done close to your heart.
13. Birth Coordinates
The world is coming closer now, and we Indians are traveling literally across the globe. Many people move out of their hometowns and migrate to new cities, and sometimes even to new countries. So it is quite possible that a couple may not have their baby in their hometown.
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="430"] Source: https://www.pinterest.com/[/caption]
So wouldn't it be a great idea to get the latitudinal and longitudinal coordinates of your baby's birthplace tattoo-ed on you? It would be a permanent reminder and a fond memory of your pregnancy days... your connection to a place and time that is now perhaps in the past!
Tattoo Precautions: Before and After
Here are a few tattoo precautions to take before and after getting a tattoo:
1. It is permanent
Think before you get inked! Tattoos are permanent, and once you get a tattoo, you are going to be stuck with it for the rest of your life. Of course there are ways to remove tattoos, but these procedures are expensive, painful, and sometimes also not perfect (there have been cases of people being left with scars).
So make sure you pick a tattoo idea that –
you won’t get easily bored of
you will like to have on you even later in life
that will not become obsolete with time
2. It hurts
Maybe not as much as pushing a baby out of your VG, but getting a tattoo hurts. We are not going to lie or sugar coat it for you. It is definitely not a painless procedure. However, everybody has a different threshold of pain; tattoo pain is hence quite subjective.
3. You may not be able to donate blood
While most tattoo artists maintain strict hygiene, especially in terms of needles they use, several hospitals have a policy of not accepting blood donations from people who have tattoos. While this may not be a 'cause' you feel strongly for, if ever (God forbid) anyone in your family were in such a need, you might not be able to donate blood.
4. Your employer might have a problem
Depending on the industry and profession you hold, your employer may have a strict code against tattoos. Some companies do not want employees to have tattoos anywhere. Some require employees to conceal tattoos. If you are a working mother, find out about your employer's policy before getting a tattoo.
5. People's perception changes
While the times we are living in are slowly changing, tattoos are still largely seen in a negative light. While people are more tolerant of youngsters getting tattoos, a mother getting a tattoo is for some reason deemed 'wrong'. Many believe that a tattoo-ed person is a 'bad influence' on a child. While we know this isn't true, it would be good to brace yourself for such and other silly questions and comments!
6. Safety comes first
Always make sure you go to a safe tattoo artist. Pick a tattoo parlour that is hygienic. Look for -
overall cleanliness of the place
referrals (talk to previous customers)
find out about the procedure (does the tattoo artist wear gloves, does he use disposable equipment, etc.)
make sure a fresh needle is used for your tattoo (ask the tattoo artist to open the sealed, packed needle in front of you)
7. After tattoo care is important
Do not get slack about after tattoo care. Make sure you apply the healing cream given to you by your tattoo artist as per his directions. Till the tattoo completely heals and sets in your skin, it is vulnerable to fading, smudging, etc.
8. Do not drink before getting a tattoo!
A lot of people down a couple of drinks before getting a tattoo, in order to muster up the courage to get inked. However, this is a bad idea because the alcohol in your system can make your tattoo smudge later. Alcohol will also impair your judgment and coherence – two things which need to very much be intact to get a tattoo done! Read more

Things To Look For in your Child's Drawings
Children’s drawings have always been a subject of research and study for a long period of time. Psychologists believe that drawings can give an insight into a child's thoughts and personality. Children love to draw anything and everything and their drawings are a reflection of their inner world.
Let’s look at the 5 drawing stages that your child goes through:
1. Scribbling
Initially, when given a sheet of paper and crayons, a child starts to scribble. Although this is more of fun and learning to hold crayons and see different colours on paper, there could be more observations at this stage. While a child is scribbling, it is important to notice how fast the child’s arm is moving and how big those movements are. Ask your child what he is doing while he is scribbling and listen to his comments carefully. It is unbelievable how much can be reflected about your child’s inner world through this.
2. Emergence of Shapes
As a child continues to draw, you will notice that scribbling has taken form of shapes. The shapes that your child draws and their size matter. For e.g., if it’s a circle, see how big or small the circle is and what colours the child has infused in these shapes. They talk a lot about your child’s current state of mind and the personality which is emerging.
3. Drawings based on Figures
Gradually, figures start emerging in the drawings. This happens typically around the age of four years. Only faces emerge without body or hands, while sometimes hands emerge out of the head! Psychologists say that these figures and their formation talk a lot about the intellectual growth and object relation of the child.
4. Stage of Symbolism
This is when more concrete images start to emerge like sun, house, garden, etc. All that your child is seeing around him and on television gets registered and your child starts forming an impression of things. This is usually observed around the age of five years. These are the things that have registered in your child’s mind. The colours that your child uses in these images reveal a lot about their inner self. Bold and bright colours may suggest that your child is an extrovert. If light and subtle shades are used, it gives you a glimpse that your child is building an introvert personality. However, there is no concrete evidence of this as research is still underway.
5. Grouping
By the time your child is between five to six years of age, he understands the concept of groups and the different forms of groups. For example, they understand family as the first close knit group and then comes school and friends. They start developing different levels of attachment in different groups and the same is also revealed in their drawings.
In case you see anything which is unusual or different in your child’s drawing – like a glimpse of aggression, which means two people fighting – then you need to ask probing questions and understand where those thoughts and feelings are coming from. If it is repeatedly reflecting in your child’s drawing, you need to delve deeper and understand the underlying root cause. Read more

Infertility a Challenge and Dealing With It Is a Bigger Challenge
Hello friends. I hope my little knowledge will be able to relax many of you dealing with infertility.. Which is considered a social stigma on part of ladies who are married and not getting prego within a year of marriage. Things will be coming into your ears, any good news? and sometimes, kab suna rahe ho news? ughhhhh... Bla bla bla
But ask them who are you to interfere and secondly it's our decision.
I had gone through infertility but yes I am lucky enough that all my in laws and parents were support system and by God grace I am a mother of a boy. In all these 6 years one thing I learnt is that everyone has her time and it's variable time. Some have to wait for year and some years. But be in high spirits always. God has his plans.
Following stuff will definitely definitely help
Diet modification before planning to get conceived whether naturally or assisted technology like IVF. Include dry fruits like almonds and walnuts. Protein rich egg white, Dals, Salads. Do eat quinoa. Prepare as khichdi.
Try doing aerobics. Yoga else walking if nothing more.
Find ways of getting happy like shopping Movies, Spas, I would recommend going for acupressure therapy.
Don't burden urself instead if you feel stressed blow it out. Cry if you want but don't keep things inside.
Involve youself in work if you are working else keep urself occupied in household chores.
Try listening motivational devotional songs.
Visit your religious places.
Believe In yourself first.
Avoid binge eating.
Trust your doctors completely.
Do less of browsing.Follow ur Doctor.

Keep house and work environment clean. Take infertility as challenge not a social tabo.
So friends where there is will there is a way. You should be self motivated girls. No one should come and sympathise you. You are here to prove yourself that accepting challenge in itself is an exhilaration of victory.
