Is Insurance Coverage Available for IVF Treatment in India?
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is a procedure where the eggs and sperm are combined in a laboratory vessel and fertilized. IVF is a boon for women who face difficulty in conceiving naturally and even patients from other countries seek out this treatment in India as it is a lot more cost-friendly here compared to their nations. Not all hospitals provide insurance coverage for IVF treatments in India but there are a few that do.
Cost of IVF Procedure in India
The cost of IVF procedure in India varies anywhere from Rs. 1 lac to Rs. 2.5 lacs and it depends on the hospital you're receiving the treatment from, the IVF specialists who are in charge, and your health condition overall. Here's a brief outline of the rates based on what is available currently.

Rs 1 lac to 1.4 Lacs

Do General Health Insurance Policies in India Cover the IVF Procedure?
No. Usually, the general health insurance policies in India do not cover for IVF procedures. However, there are a few health insurance policies that do. The only general health insurance policy that provides IVF cover and is available to women of different financial statuses is the BMB Nirbhaya scheme launched jointly by the Bhartiya Mahila Bank. Women can avail cashless facility with this cover and the maternity coverage is available for up to the first two children.
In general, most health insurance covers which include an IVF cover take care of hormone assessment and basic medical testing costs, OT expenses, and anaesthetic plus procedure charges. Medicines which are prescribed to the patient are paid for separately in most cases. What makes IVF treatment in India appealing to internationals is the cost. In countries like the U.S. and Canada, the same treatment could cost more than USD 10,000, which makes the 2.5 lac upper limit much more affordable to them. Besides this, IVF treatment plans have boomed since the introduction of surrogacy pregnancy back in 2002. Many health insurance companies do not include an IVF cover in their general health insurance policies, but as the awareness and demand for IVF is growing, which signifies a positive outlook for the future.
Insurance Policies in India Which Cover IVF and Other Fertility Treatments
Opting for health insurance coverage for IVF in India is not only a smart move but something that'll save you money down the line. Below is a list of health insurance policies that cover for IVF and similar kinds of fertility treatments:
1. One Health by Magma HDI Insurance
Magma HDI is a general health insurance company. They have four plans - support, support plus, shield, and premium. Their plans let you add more covers while some of these are built-in. Key benefits of their infertility treatment insurance coverage in India include pre and post-hospitalization expenses, IVF treatment, free annual health checkups and more. If you're not happy with their plans, you can cancel them within 15 days and get a total refund quickly. The sum insured for their support plan which is a basic cover starts at Rs 2 lacs while additional covers when included in the same plan may bring up the cost up to Rs 5 lacs maximum. There is a co-pay option of 10% to 20% of the amount as well on their covers where the tenure lasts between 1 to 3 years.
For most treatments, there is an initial waiting period of up to 30 days applicable to patients.
2. IVF Suraksha by Craft Hospital and Research Center
IVF Suraksha Scheme is one of the best IVF covers available for women since it uses state-of-the-art technologies for treatment. The cover claims to give a full refund if the results of the treatment don't yield positive. You pay an insured sum of Rs 2.75 lacs and it covers two IVF -ICSI, up to five embryo transfers, blastocyst transfer, and assisted hatching and freezing of any additional embryos involved.
For a single IVF-ICSI, the treatment under the scheme starts at Rs 1.75 lacs but for subsequent treatments, the cost goes up to Rs 3.5 Lacs. However, once you sign up for the scheme you have to pay just Rs 2.75 lacs for the treatment costs instead of the 3.5 lacs, thus saving you money. The success rate for their treatments is high, going up to 75% and couples will have to undergo a physical fitness test prior to availing their schemes. What their membership does not cover are the costs involved in the event of a miscarriage, hormone injections and medication payments, tubal pregnancy, and the fees required for the registration, consultation, and lab tests.
3. Bhartiya Mahila Bank and New India Insurance (BMB Nirbhaya)
This cover is available to women who have opened a Bhartiya Mahila bank account. It covers infertility treatments, hospitalizations related to morbid obesity and health issues, maternity care, and also doesn't put a financial burden on women. The sum insured is between Rs 1 lac to Rs 5 lacs and the premium for their insurance coverage of Rs 1 lac starts at Rs 1,745 for women who are 22 years old and above.
It also includes a claim-free gynaecological check from the 4th year onward and maternity expenses are covered from the third year. The best part is that it covers expenses in the event of miscarriages, unlike other IVF covers.
These are some of the best IVF covers available in India for women. It is still not too late to conceive and welcome parenthood through IVF. With advances in treatment and medical technologies, getting the best possible IVF treatment within different budgets is not a farfetched concept but a reality. Contact the hospitals or organizations concerned directly to learn more about them or to make any personal enquiries.

Parents' Day - A Day Dedicated to Parenthood
As we lead busy lives, we, sometimes, forget to connect with the ones who raised us into the people we've become. That's how International Parents' Day came to be celebrated in various countries across the world, including India.
Parents play a big role in the lives of their children, right from their birth. The unconditional love of parents combined with their selfless devotion is what's celebrated on this day.
History of Parents' Day
International Parents' Day came to exist when US President Bill Clinton signed a Congressional Resolution in 1994. The bill was introduced by Republican Senator Trent Lott.
Why Is Parents' Day Celebrated?
Parents' Day in India and other countries is celebrated due to a number of reasons:
1. For Deeper Bonding
People who lead busy lives hardly get time to disconnect from work and spend quality time with their parents. Parents' Day helps such people spend a full day with their parents. They can talk about the things that have been troubling them, thus keeping the parent-child bond strong.
2. Showing Your Appreciation
Gratitude is a really powerful emotion. When you show gratitude to your parents on this day and appreciate them for who they are, there's something that lights up inside you. Parents' Day gives you a chance to show how thankful you are. Many people visit their parents and take along flowers and gifts on this day.
3. Celebrating a Timeout
On this day, working parents get to enjoy a timeout from their daily grind. Children sometimes volunteer with household chores and let them take it easy. Parents find it delightful to watch their young ones grow into responsible adults. Parents' Day is a public holiday in many countries, making employees, universities, and organisations recognise it. As for celebrations, it's also a day where reunions and parties are hosted. You celebrate to your heart's content with the people you cherish most, and that's what counts.
When Is Parents' Day Celebrated in India?
Parent's Day in India is celebrated on 1st June every year.
Parents' Day Celebration Ideas
Thinking about how to Parents' Day in style? We've got some ideas. There are many things you can do with your parents and children. The key is to pick an activity everybody in the family can enjoy.
1. Make Dinner Together
Making dinner or any meal together is a great way to bond on Parent's Day. You get to show off your culinary repertoire and also learn a few tricks from your folks. The goal of this activity is to have fun cooking and baking with the entire family. And the reward is, of course, the yummy food on the table.
2. Sit Down With Your Family Album
If you've made a scrapbook, you're all set. If you haven't already, it's time to start making one. Sit down with your family album and take a look at your parents' childhood photos. You can spend the day reminiscing about the events attached to those photos. And to make it even better, you can take a family photo every year on Parents' Day and add it to your album.
3. Say Thank You
The best way to celebrate Parents' Day is to thank your parents. And no, not via a text message or call, but with a big, and heartfelt hug. You can take them on a picnic to their favourite dream destination. They'll love it. And if you're out of ideas, the good old hearty dinner coupled with a movie will do too. Don't forget to shop for Parents' Day gifts and give your parents a pleasant surprise!
In case you haven't figured it out yet, we're just as stoked for Parents' Day this year as you. Make good memories on this day, and cherish them.

6 Ways Successful People Avoid Crumbling
Having learned how to reduce stress at work, leaders find themselves several notches above the rest. They're more organized and in control of situations and people alike. These stress-management tips will help you deal with workplace problems in much better and healthier ways.
Are you struggling to keep up with deadlines and don’t quite know how to meet your goals? Have you been trying to cope with new training sessions that are freaking out your co-workers? These and other such problems are bound to crop up on a day-to-day basis at work. What do you do? Give up? No way! Learn how to deal with issues without crumbling.
How to Deal with Stress in the Workplace
1. Accept that problems are inevitable
One of the best tips of stress management is to accept that setbacks, hardships and problems are a part and parcel of work. Mentally strong people rarely waste time in thinking about stressful conditions bogging them down or stopping their progress. Even though they know certain things are beyond their control, they meet challenges head on.
2. Have the right perspective
To reduce stress at work, don’t allow pessimism and negativity to cloud your mind. They only create confusion and anxiety. Successful folks know the dangers of these emotions and prefer to direct their energy toward tackling problems with the right perspective. If a solution doesn’t work, they look for another one and refuse to get cowed down.
3. Put your health first
Physical health is as important as its mental counterpart and goes a long way in proper stress management at the workplace. Successful people are aware of the need for keeping themselves healthy and fit. They take measures to get enough sleep, to exercise, and to adhere to well-planned food diets. If you’ve been missing out on these, it’s time to step up!
4. Have additional coping skills
Instead of looking towards junk food, alcohol and other bad habits to cope with different types of workplace stress, leaders deal with discomfort in more productive ways. To combat uncomfortable emotions such as anger, anxiety, fear and sadness in the right way, they look beyond by participating in a hobby, going for a walk and just doing something positive to make themselves feel better and stronger.
5. Maintain a healthy balance of solitude and socialising
Along with keeping calm in stressful situations, successful people strike a careful balance between their social and domestic lives. They don’t become withdrawn and unapproachable yet neither do they overindulge in social activities. They reserve time for their thoughts and lead a healthy social life as well.
6. Don’t look for sympathy
In addition to learning about what work stress is and the right ways of dealing with it, leaders rarely look for sympathy in bad circumstances. They also don’t feel victimised. Instead, they accept responsibilities and don’t succumb under the pressure of saying ‘yes’ to the things they don’t want to do and know aren’t right.
When you put things in perspective, it’s not all that difficult to adopt the right techniques for dealing with workplace-related stress and frustration. With the right measures in place, even you can start dealing with problems that keep throwing themselves at you in a more confident way. Read more

Pregnancy is a gift..
Live it,,love it,,adore it.embrace it
Hope wil never die
It started on a happy note on Nov 21 2019..I was pregnant.😃It was joy ,happiness, anxiety all mixed emotions.I went for a regular checkup n confirmation of my pregnancy during 3 mon..
My bp shooted to a alarming level,Yes I was tensed but my blood pressure did not match my anxiety..it was far behind it.
My real journey started from there..
Tests...tests...tests...regular visits..medicines..my scans which were far more than a normal uncomplicated pregnanancy..
Adding to this I AM A DOCTOR myself ,insted of consoling myself I made it really scary at the start..and special attraction was COVID
That doubled my tension up as there was no medicines thn for pregnant women..
Lock down,sanitisation,....😔😔 But still keeping my confidence high for HOPE growing inside me n support n love from my husband n my parents n my doctor I made it till 7 month..
But whhn I was about to enter 8 mon..my last scan showed I had decreased liquior..it was expected due to my meds..n doctor said to be under observation for few days..n had a scan after two days as I doubted liquor leak..n it showed severe decrease in liquor..n an c section was planned immediately...following surgery..n I delivered a cute little baby girl my hope my life HRITIKA..
U may ask what's there in this..it's very common..but those few days from scan to surgery n post op was the most difficult time of my life.. from surgery to my bp fluctations n added to this premature delivery( 34 weeks) with my girl geting admitted to nicu..suffered neonatal jaundice thrice..n slowly building her to a healthy baby like every other kid...Yes it was tough , scary , by my hope never died ...since I hav birth to my hope , my confidence ,my baby girl HRITIKA..seeing her daily makes my hope double forgetting everything...moving forward
Being a doctor u may think it is silly to get afraid as u all know everything ,,treatment,,remedy,,
But let me tell this ...
if we know about living n geting out from danger,,we even know about non treatable complication n death..
That makes mind of doctor scary..
Finally..never let hope die..😊😊
u may not get the expected result but it builds strength in u..
