Online Education for Preschoolers: A Guide for Parents
With digital gadgets and internet entering in the sphere of education, online education is emerging as a powerful learning tool. Find out how virtual learning can benefit your preschooler in various ways.
Technology has brought a paradigm shift in the field of education too. The traditional classroom education has got a new face in the form of computers, internet, CDs and DVDs. There is no denying the fact that digital education can aid in creating interactive, experiential and independent learning environment for children. But before you hop on to the virtual education bandwagon for your preschooler, you must evaluate different types of online educational tools and how they can benefit your little ones in terms of developing their learning skills.
Types of Online Educational Tools
Teachers and parents can impart online education to preschoolers using the following tools:
1. Interaction-based
The main idea of having things online is to share the knowledge with students, teachers and community all over the world in diverse locations and time zones. With the help of their class teachers, preschoolers can use ‘interactive whiteboard’ or video conferencing to communicate or participate in online discussion with their counterparts in a different location. They can brainstorm on projects and get feedback from teachers over real time chat from the comfort of home.
2. Research-based
By this mode, students can access a huge universe of knowledge online and gain information on different subjects. They are able to learn complex things like scientific terms using online tools or in interesting ways using sound and videos. They are able to understand few things better using multimedia and express their opinion over blogs, etc.
3. Self-expression-based
Preschoolers can be introduced to the concept of blogs, wikis and websites and allowed to learn at their own pace.
Benefits
Virtual education helps to build appropriate learning skills in children right from a tender age. Some of the important benefits of online education can be stated as follows:
Develops better analytical and problem-solving skills.
Inculcates critical thinking enhances their questioning and thinking ability.
Increases creativity and better presentation skills.
Helps to grow a habit of active participation and to exchange thoughts; this also enhances their collaboration skill to work in teams.
Improves communication skills.
Gives them access to different learning methodology and gives them the flexibility to choose the best way of learning.
Gives them opportunity to interact on a global perspective and opens up a huge knowledge base.
While schools are the best mediums to cultivate virtual learning skills in children, parents too can encourage them at home. Parents and children can create a family social media account or a blog, make online photo albums or engage in various other fun activities using different apps and tools.

A New Perspective to Christmas!
Christmas brings happy vibes and sudden surge of excitement among children. How about applying a new learning this Christmas!
Christmas is one of the most sought after festival for children and it suddenly changes the vibe and brings a happy wave in the cold wintry days.
Children are most excited about Christmas because it is all about meeting friends, exchanging gifts with them, receiving gifts from their most favorite Santa Claus and relishing yummy treats. A month prior to Christmas my girls start discussing and preparing their list of things they want from Santa. Letter to Santa is in full swing and they are at their best behavior because Santa shouldn't get upset in any way. As a mom, I am super happy because I can put all kind of healthy food down their throat with no or very less resistance from them.
Anyway, I am sure we will have a hearty laugh over this when my girls grow up.
Well, intermittent meeting with friends, receiving gifts from Santa Claus and a lot of baking will happen this year too, but, what else can we do to make Christmas special this year? Although 2020 has taught us a lot yet there's one last lesson to learn and imbibe from this year which is sharing, caring and some detachment. Its an unfortunate story but there are children who don't get to enjoy festivities the way many others do. Why not let your child take responsibility for one child and bring a smile on their face?
Together, I and my little ones decided to do something this Christmas and here's what it is. It is extremely difficult to part with one's favorite things. Be it your favorite set of clothes, accessories, and in the case of kids their toys, storybooks, games and the list goes on. There are so many emotions attached to your favorite set of things. Holds true for adults too!
A couple of days back, I and my gals were speaking about Santa's arrival and the number of gifts he will carry with him for all the children this year. Well, this kick-started quite a meaningful conversation between us. I asked them, 'how would our domestic help, (who they call aunty) feel if we gift her daughter some toys on Christmas?' My girls were thrilled with the idea. Then came time to drop the bomb. I suggested, 'How about each of you give one of your favorite toys to her?' They immediately went into thinking mode. I am sure there was a tussle in their little mind of why is mom asking us to part with our toys. I told them that every year on Christmas Santa gets you whatever you desire. How about both of you becoming little girl's Santa this year?. Pop came the question 'But mama she can write to Santa just the way we do' to which i said, 'she can't read or write so if you become her Santa and share your toys with her, she will be happy just like you and can celebrate Christmas with a big smile'. I knew Christmas would have hardly made any sense to that little girl but she would have felt special and that's what I was intending to do with my girls. Moreover, I had to start this with my girls at some point and there was no special time than Christmas as this is one festival kids relate to, the most.
I was surprised to see my girls showing no resistance to the idea of gifting their toys. I thought they wouldn't want to part with their favourite things and that it would require some convincing. But many a time kids astonish us with their sense of understanding. They immediately decided what all to gift her and have even kept those things aside.
This year lets extend a helping hand to whoever we can and in whatever capacity we can. Making someone's day with a genuine effort is the most remarkable present one can ever give. The brighter side of this is, your children too get to experience the joy of giving and being sensitive to humanity. After all, acts of generosity start from home. One more important lesson I am sure would have resonated with my girls. And that is 'sense of detachment to objects'. It's a big word for them but there has to be a start somewhere and I am happy that they got a glimpse of what detachment is!

Travelling with your new born baby for the first time ever.
Being a travel enthusiast, any plans of a vacation used to fill me with thrill and excitement until I became a mother. My son was three months old then, when my husband shared with me his recent plan of vacation of three of us as a family for the very first time. I got very excited at first but the idea of travelling with my three month old totally freaked me out.
I had no prior experience of travelling with a kid and hence had no idea of what to keep etc.
However, we did all the planning and packing keeping his needs in mind and the trip went smoothly. It was indeed a great trip.
Sharing with you my experience in terms of do's and dont's while travelling with a baby.
Important things to keep in mind:
Travel light- Extremely important as you will have a baby to carry as well.
Plan a shorter trip- As you are travelling with your baby for the very first time, keep it short to get a hang of it before you plan a rather longer trip.
Keep few stay-ats: Don't go on changing your hotel very frequently. Plan an itinerary with fewer destinations.
Do read about the weather conditions of the place you are planning to go to.
Packing for you baby:
Extra clothes- let's accept that baby's clothes get soiled frequently, be it because of pee, poops or vomit. So keep a few extra. My advise is to keep such clothes in which every cloth can be paired with almost every other. That says you won't have to carry a lot.
Baby food- Whether or not your baby is on exclusive breastfeed, it is always advisable to carry formula milk powder. Afterall there is no harm in being prepared for an unforeseen situation, ryt!
Feeding bottles/utensils (depending on your preference), hot water flask, hotcases (if your baby has started solids) nibblers, teethers etc.
Soft baby blanket - can be used for both covering or spreading while putting your baby to sleep.
Swaddle wraps- just a couple.
Diapers- there isn't a need to stock up diapers for the entire trip duration. These are easily available almost everywhere so just keep for the first 2-3 days at max.
Mosquito patch- A must to keep your baby safe from mosquitoes.
Basic toiletries- Again carrying bigger bottles is a huge no-no. It is better to carry small travel friendly bottles.
Baby wipes- again a must looking at how handy it comes in times if need.
Wash clothes and bibs- Good number if bibs and napkins (gets soiled very frequently and requires very less space).
Trash plastic pouches and old newspapers - to throw diapers and other stuff.
Baby bag- with minimum stuff just enough for journey. Preferably a bag pack as its super comfortable to carry as compared to a shoulder bag.
Baby carrier/ stroller- a baby carrier is advised in my experience as a stroller adds to another luggage. Carrier allows you to just tie your baby around your body and you are good to go.
Medicines- Whether or not your baby is on any medication currently, it is always advised to carry any medicine which has been prescribed so far or any general medicine( cold, cough, fever, allergy etc.) which might be needed.
Toys- Except for any toy/stuff toy your baby is really attached to, there isn't a need to carry any rattle or other toy because hey we all know that kids dont really enjoy playing with toys as much as they enjoy playing with empty bottles/containers etc.
This is completely based on my own experience while travelling with my baby. You can use this just as a reference. Hope it proves to be useful to you too. Enjoy reading! Read more

A. Some women may have vomiting throughout their pregnancy. The most common reason for vomiting during the third trimester may be gastritis. Make sure you eat small frequent meals, preferably every 2 hours. If your baby's weight during checkups are adequate..u needn't worry much about this. You can also consult your doctor and take anti emetics and PPIs if the vomiting is bothering you or interfering with your daily activities.

A. no need to worry about the frequency and colour of the stool if the consistency of the stool is semi solid to solid.
also there is no need to worry about the smell of the stool if the consistency is normal.
you have to meet the doctor if it is watery inconsistency or hard consistency otherwise semi solid to solid stool is normal.
also passing stool after taking food is normal. r
