Baby Sleeping While Breastfeeding- How to Keep Him Awake
It’s really the most relaxing feeling when your baby falls asleep while nursing, all cuddled up in your arms. It feels heavenly to look at that peaceful face, sometimes radiantly smiling in his sleep. However, have you ever questioned yourself if this is okay? Yes, it is, but not all the time! So, when is it not okay, you may ask? We will answer all your questions in this article.
Video: Baby Sleeping While Breastfeeding-How to Keep Him Awake
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I72r3vjuA-c
Why Does Your Newborn Fall Asleep While Breastfeeding?
It is quite natural for babies to fall asleep while breastfeeding during the first few months, especially after a bath. Most of the time, an active and playful baby calms down with a breastfeed and falls asleep. All this is innate and there is nothing to worry about. Babies have no set pattern or routine for the first few months or sometimes even first two years of their lives.
For the first few months, a baby may sleep 14 to 18 hours a day, and sometimes even more. Hence, a baby falls asleep while nursing because it just happens to be your baby’s time to sleep. Your baby may be tired, and breastfeeding will not only feed your baby, but also calm him down and put him to sleep.
Why Some Newborns Are More Sleepy Than Others
Have you been wondering why some newborns sleep longer than others? Here’s why:
Some babies get tired easily and fall asleep after a brief period of nursing.
Some babies may not get enough milk to fill themselves, even after 20 minutes of sucking, and hence, give up in frustration and fall asleep.
It can be devastating for a mother to realise that the baby has fallen asleep without being properly fed. She may later realise that her baby is not gaining weight because of the same reason. Look out for the following signs to ensure that your baby is full at the end of the breastfeeding.
Your baby is alert and fully awake at the beginning of the nursing.
You can hear him swallow something during the feed.
Your breast feels light and less full at the end of the nursing
Your baby’s hands are open and relaxed, and the arms hang down droopily.
The above signs indicate that your baby is full and there is nothing to worry about.
Please remember that if your baby falls asleep while nursing with a fist and tense look on the face, it may mean that your baby is still hungry and frustrated after continuous sucking.
If your baby doesn’t get a full breastfeed, he will get up every half an hour for more feed, and both of you will not get enough sleep. In this case, you may want your baby to stay awake during the feed. Also, if you are planning to wean your baby from the breastfeeding and sleeping association, then the following tips to keep a baby awake during breastfeeding may just work.
Signs That Your Baby is Hungry
There are some telltale signs that your baby is hungry, which you will notice alongside him falling asleep while breastfeeding. If you are unsure of why this occurs, make sure to look out for the following signs.
1. Type of Crying
A low- pitched cry that rises and falls in low bursts, indicates your baby is hungry. However, you are likely to notice other signs first.
2. Sucking on His Fist
If you see your baby sucking on his fist, it means he is hungry. This is one of the first signs of a hungry baby.
3. Restlessness and Disturbed Sleep
When hungry, your baby will take shorter naps and wake up feeling restless and move around in his crib. This is usually accompanied by crying.
4. Opening His Mouth While Feeding
When drinking milk, your baby may open his mouth and continue sucking even after the breast or bottle is empty. This indicates he is hungry.
Tips to Keep a Baby Awake During Breastfeeding
Firstly, try and fix a day sleeping and nap schedule. Start your day by giving yourself a 30 or 90 minute window and feed the baby at the start of the day, as soon as the baby is awake. Give the next feed after the nap. This way, the baby will be wide awake while nursing because he has just finished his nap. However, if your baby’s sleeping cycle is 120 minutes or longer, then you may want to give the second feed 20 minutes before the nap, so that your baby doesn’t wake up too early due to hunger.
If you feel that even after devising a predictable feeding and nap schedule, your baby is not taking a full feed and falling asleep amidst the nursing, then try out the following tricks.
Break the suction in between by putting your finger in between your breasts and the baby’s mouth.
Switch breasts after short intervals or when you realise your baby is falling asleep.
Drip some milk in one corner of your baby’s mouth to encourage sucking again.
Compress your breast to make the milk flow faster during the feed.
Keep a wet cloth handy to wipe your baby’s head, tummy, and feet in between feed. This will keep him awake and encourage him to suck again.
Burp the baby by making him sit in an upright position.
Use less sleep-inducing feeding positions like football or straddling positions.
Tickle your baby under the arms, feet, or neck from time to time to keep him awake.
Keep your baby’s feet uncovered during the feed.
Change the diaper before the feed so that it feels fresh.
Keep a dim-light on in the room.
Play some light music in the background to keep him engaged with the environment.
Gently run a finger down your baby’s spine during the feed.
Feed him as soon as he is awake
Falling asleep while getting breastfed isn’t a big deal, as the baby may do it when tired. However, it does become a problem if he is unable to drink enough, which may make him underweight. Use the above tips to keep him active and prevent him from falling off to sleep too quickly.

Common Vaginal Infections During Pregnancy
The body goes through several hormonal changes through the course of pregnancy. These changes can make the vagina of the mother-to-be vulnerable to infections. Some examples of these are yeast infections, streptococcal infections, urinary tract infections or UTIs, and bacterial vaginosis. Vaginal infections during pregnancy are quite commonly occurring and can be easily cured if they are diagnosed early. In order to diagnose them correctly, you should know the symptoms of the common vaginal infections that can affect women during pregnancy.
Vaginal Infections During Pregnancy You Should Be Aware of
Due to hormonal changes during pregnancy, the immunity of the mom-to-be might be lower than usual. This makes her susceptible to vaginal infections. These infections can harm the unborn baby if left untreated. Hence, it is important to recognise the symptoms of such infections, diagnose them correctly, and treat them immediately.
1. Bacterial Vaginosis
Bacterial vaginosis during pregnancy is very common. Around 10% to 40% of pregnant women reportedly get infected with bacterial vaginosis (BV). It is caused by harmful bacteria multiplying in the vagina, resulting in unpleasant symptoms.
Signs
Some of the women with BV may not show any signs of the infection. The symptoms of BV are burning sensation while urinating, fishy odour from the vagina, irritation and itching around the vaginal area, and abnormal, smelly vaginal discharge. The vaginal discharge may be white or grey and of a thin, watery consistency. BV can be diagnosed by doing a pelvic exam and a vaginal culture.
Treatment
Bacterial vaginosis can be treated with antibiotics that are safe for pregnant women. Generally, doctors avoid prescribing antibiotics in the first trimester. Sometimes, BV goes away without treatment if it is in the initial stages. Safe sex practices and good hygiene can prevent BV to some degree. Avoiding multiple partners, refraining from douching, wearing cotton underwear, and keeping the vagina clean and dry helps in minimising the risk of getting infected with BV. If left untreated, BV can cause problems like preterm delivery, low birth weight in the baby, increased risk of catching other sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and pelvic inflammatory disease.
2. Yeast Infection
Yeast infection during pregnancy is another frequent problem among mothers-to-be. Yeast infections are more common in the second trimester. They may be caused by hormonal changes, taking medication like steroids or antibiotics, excessive douching, diabetes or an STD.
Signs
The signs that you have a yeast infection are white or brown cottage-cheese-like vaginal discharge that smells like yeast, redness and irritation in the vulva and labia, and burning pain while having sex or urinating.
Treatment
Yeast infections are diagnosed by a doctor’s vaginal exam or by examining a vaginal swab under a microscope to confirm the presence of yeast. They are usually treated with anti-fungal creams that have to be applied in the affected area. If not treated, the yeast can infect the baby’s mouth during delivery and cause a condition called ‘thrush’. Yeast infections can be prevented by wearing breathable underwear, keeping the vaginal area dry, wiping from front to back after urinating, limiting sugar intake and including yoghurt in your diet.
3. Trichomoniasis
Trichomoniasis during pregnancy is caused by a parasitic protozoan microbe called Trichomonas vaginalis. It is usually sexually transmitted from an infected partner during intercourse. However, research has shown that it can be transmitted by sharing toilet seats or towels and even through swimming pools.
Signs
The signs and symptoms of Trichomoniasis include green or yellow smelly vaginal discharge, redness and irritation in the vaginal region, and pain during urination. The discharge may also be clear or white with a fishy odour.
Treatment
Trichomoniasis is treated with antibiotics that are not harmful to the unborn baby. However, it can be prevented by following safe sexual practices and good hygiene. Do not have unprotected sex or intercourse with multiple partners. Always use condoms and keep your genital area clean and as dry as possible. Avoid public toilets and swimming pools during pregnancy.
4. Group B Streptococcus
Group B Streptococcus during pregnancy is a bacterial infection that can cause complications like endometrial inflammation, urinary bladder infection, premature birth, and even stillbirth. Most women with Group B Streptococcus (GBS) do not show any symptoms. Many hospitals screen for GBS at 35 weeks of pregnancy with a swab test.
Signs
GBS has no obvious symptoms. GBS can be detected with a swab test. If you go into labour earlier than 37 weeks, if your water breaks more than 18 hours prior to childbirth, if GBS bacteria are found in your urine, if you have had a baby infected with GBS previously, or if you have a fever while in labour, you will be treated for GBS during delivery.
Treatment
GBS is treated with antibiotics during delivery so that you do not pass the infection to your baby. Usually, the antibiotic is given through an intravenous drip. It is not possible to prevent GBS as the streptococcal bacteria are commonly present in our bodies.
5. Urinary Tract Infection
Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) are caused when bacteria from outside enter the urinary tract and begin to multiply in the urethra or the bladder. UTIs frequently occur in pregnant women as the growing uterus presses onto the bladder and urinary tract, trapping the bacteria inside. The urine is also concentrated in pregnant women, and this provides the bacteria with an ideal environment to multiply.
Signs
The symptoms of UTIs include an urge to urinate very often, bloody or cloudy urine, pain or discomfort around the bladder, pain around the pelvic area or lower back, nausea, fever, vomiting, and burning or pain while urinating.
Treatment
UTIs are treated with antibiotics that are taken orally. The risk of getting UTIs can be minimised by practising good hygiene, wiping from front to back after urinating, emptying your bladder before and after sexual intercourse, staying hydrated, and not holding in your urine for an extended period of time.
6. Chlamydia trachomatis
Chlamydia is an infection caused by bacteria called Chlamydia trachomatis and is a sexually transmitted disease.
Signs
Symptoms of chlamydia include bleeding from the vagina, pain in the abdomen, mucous or pus discharge from the vagina, and pain or burning while urinating.
Treatment
Antibiotics taken orally are needed to treat chlamydia infections. Chlamydia can be prevented by sticking to a single sex partner and always using condoms.
7. Syphilis
Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by a bacteria called Treponema pallidum. Syphilis in pregnancy is very serious and can harm the unborn baby. It can pass from an infected mother to the foetus. It can cause preterm childbirth, miscarriage, and even death of the newborn. Syphilis can also cause anaemia, meningitis, skin rash, and nervous system problems in the newborn.
Signs
Symptoms of Syphilis include fatigue, fever, joint aches, swollen lymph nodes, hair loss, headache, extra skin growths in the anal and vaginal regions, and loss of weight.
Treatment
Syphilis is treated with antibiotics. Early detection and treatment will help prevent the baby from being harmed. It is best to prevent Syphilis by following safe sexual practices. Using condoms and being monogamous is the best way to prevent Syphilis. Getting tested regularly for STIs is also a good idea.
Several of the common vaginal infections during pregnancy have similar symptoms. Check with your doctor so that you can be diagnosed accurately and treated right away. Early detection and treatment ensure that your unborn baby is safe. The best way to minimise the risk of contracting vaginal infections during pregnancy is by practising safe sex and maintaining good personal hygiene. Staying monogamous, getting tested regularly for STIs, and using condoms are examples of safe sex practices. Examples of maintaining good personal hygiene are wearing cotton panties and by keeping the vagina clean and dry.

Pregnant Beyonce Just Shared Something That Is Now Instagram’s Most Liked Picture Ever!
Being pregnant is an overwhelming, beautiful and unnerving experience for every woman – all at once! We are unsure what to do, what to expect…but there’s one thing that’s certain. We want to share our joy with the WHOLE world! In today’s age, many of us take to social media to share this amazing news with our friends and family. Celebrities do it too – to make their fans and followers a part of their good news. This is exactly what famous singer Beyoncé did today. She went on Instagram to announce that she was expecting twins. But in the last few hours, the picture she shared on Instagram is no longer just a pregnancy announcement. It has become EPIC - and for some very strong reasons.
Earlier this morning, Beyoncé shared a post on her Instagram page, announcing that she is expecting twins with her husband JayZ. Here is what she said:
"We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. - The Carters."
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="519"] https://www.instagram.com/p/BP-rXUGBPJa/[/caption]
In the picture, the mom-to-be is cradling her belly. She is covered with a long green veil. There are beautiful flowers in the background. Now, at the outset, this seems like a regular pregnancy announcement. But check this out: this Instagram post has skyrocketed to become the MOST LIKED picture ever, in the history of the internet! In about 13 hours since the picture was posted, it has shot to the unbelievable number of 7,311,707 likes. The record was earlier held by Selena Gomez, whose picture of drinking Coca-Cola had generated 6,315,187 likes. So yes, this mom-to-be’s picture can even claim the Guinness World Record now!
So, what is it that makes this picture so powerful? It is just a result of her celebrity status or is there something more to it?
Just Why Beyoncé’s Picture Is So Special
Beyoncé and her babies have always been social media sweethearts. When she announced her pregnancy with daughter Blue Ivy Carter, back in 2011 at the MTV Music Awards, it had generated a record of the most tweets per second ever - 8,868!
But the picture this mom-to-be shared today is not only a pregnancy announcement. It is also a powerful statement on the pregnant body and maternity – and this is why it has received the response it has. In the picture, Beyonce certainly looks happy – but she also looks proud and determined. She knows that a twin pregnancy is by no means going to be easy and she is prepared to handle it. Like every pregnant mother, her focus is now on her babies – the ones she is so lovingly cradling in her belly. The weight gain, the bulging tummy, the bloated feet – they are not unsightly, they are beautiful. And like every beautiful thing in life, they deserve to be captured forever.
Since the post came up, some people have also pointed out that the veil in the picture has a hidden meaning. In religion, we veil something when we want to protect it from outside forces. A green veil, in particular, denotes in Islam a "submission to Allah's will." Through the veil, as a mommy-to-be, she is telling the world that she will protect her babies from everything, with God’s help.
Finally, the picture also radiates happiness and the kind of anticipation that only an expecting mom can understand. Plus, in her case, she is expecting twins so that’s double the joy! Even among us, every mother who has gone through this phase will be able to relate to the delight of breaking the news, the happiness on the faces of your family, the buzz on your social media feed, the eagerness to document every moment in the months to come… It is really heartening to see that more and more people no longer shy away from the reality of their body, especially during pregnancy.

How to engage toddlers at home (during lockdown)- 42 indoor activities - Part 1
Welcome! If you are here then that means you are either struggling in engaging your toddler or looking for new ideas for your growing up, naughty little toddlers, at home.

Actually I can understand how it goes and above all considering this pandemic (covid-19) situation, some places are still struggling best to sustain life and some still experiencing lockdown, which has basically made lives of children much tougher, as they are confined in-house with no/limited outdoor accesses.

I too have a toddler who is 2 years 10 months now and I definitely know how tough it is to keep these little munchkins indoors all the time plus we as parents always want them avoid much of screen time.

I have seen it with many of my friends and relatives that they find it quite difficult at times to engage their children at home due to several reasons, as simple as time scarcity, due to homemakers being busy in household chores or the working parents' "work from home" stuff. People even strive a lot for ideas on toddlers at-home engagement activities.

I am a homemaker as of now and I seriously feel that engaging a child is not a tough task, the only thing which it requires is our time and patience. Just a simple time management of our own chores can really lead to growing up of a happy and healthy child.
Anyways, not going to further digging into how to manage our own time as parents, here I will give some of the simple activities (which can be done with resources/items available at home) which my son really loves doing with me and hence he never feels bored even if he is at home for the entire day.
Believe me the activities I am sharing are the ones which all the toddlers will love playing plus these will cost you nothing or next to nothing and if parents are doing these activities together with the child then the bond of two will be stronger due to the quality time spent, so let's get started.
42 at home activities for toddlers
1. Fly high in the sky: A balloon -

Yes, you heard that correctly and this is really the most fascinating game which my LO just loves playing. We got a pack of balloons for him on his birthday and this has really helped us when thinking of any most engaging indoor activity. We just try to make the balloon sit on the round table fan at home and believe me the all lovely smile he has, watching it fly high and trying to catch/kick it, makes my day. We even at times play balloon cricket at home when he is bored with above.

Suggestion: This activity can be even used as a "learning while playing" activity if it is a colourful pack of balloons. My son now knows most of the colours due to this activity.
2. Enacting or role play favourite characters:
2.1 Hooooaaahhhhh Dinosaurrrrr---- Is the sound my little one just loves to make being a T-rex dino himself.

He, the predator, running after poor me☺, the prey, is his favourite play.
2.2 We have a doctor kit so I am always the patient to the ONE AND ONLY famous little doc in house. I am always and only the one taking all the check ups, injections, medicines, surgeries from my inexperiencly experienced doctor but we love doing it together, with all his laugh and chuckles spreading in the house while seeing me all screaming in the fear of getting an injection or medication from him as doctor.

Suggestion: Role play can be done of any person/animal/ toy whatever your kid loves. My kid also loves my enacting as a cow and I love him enacting as 'Georgie Pig' from the famous kid show "Peppa Pig". This activity enhances the thinking ability of your kid when you let him plan the role he eagerly wants to play.
3. Basket ball with laundry bag:
A ball always fancies a kid and let us make it fancier by providing a basket to ball. I just keep a laundry bag in front of my kid and he plays an hour or so just trying to basket it. He really tries hard until he baskets his ball.

Suggestion: You can use any item to act as a basket like a bucket or any big kitchen utensil or any other stuff which you feel can suffice the role of a basket here. Make the child stand at a distance (suitable for him/his age) from the basket and ask him to put the ball in it. This activity will not only be just a simple play activity but also help him improve his concentration and hand eye co-ordination.
Also instead of a ball, a balloon or any other item can be used to make game more interesting plus giving variety to a child.
4. Sorting beans:

Ever wondered that things what we eat can even be used as an activity item for the kid? Yes, it can be. The kidney beans and the chickpeas are a great source not just for the body but now even for play. I provide my kid two bowls, one empty the other with any one or mixed beans and ask him to transfer those to the empty bowl. This engages and grasps his interest quite a lot. Try it out with your kid as well as he will surely enjoy doing this.

Suggestion: You can use any beans, lentils, etc in this activity but just be sure of using an appropriate size of item being used, as smaller size might make the kid use lots of efforts thereby making him lose interest. Also this activity can be used with mixed beans and asking the kid to transfer likes in different bowls.
This activity will help him in his eye hand co-ordination and will even help him in holding a pencil between his fingers later.
5. Pillows/cushions fight:
Now these comfortable at home sleep items can also comfort your 'kids and yours' active activity life.

Just give him a cushion/pillow of his interest and start playing a small win-loss fight game.
My son likes small cushions (given names to these cushions too, not to be revealed here😉) with which we both play fight games and the glorious victory look which he has once I say I lost is all what makes me the winner all over🤩😉.
Suggestion: This activity can even be done with any of his/her favourite toys which should be such size that could provide a grip to be easily hand held and fought with. Make sure your kid understands that it's just a fight game and not a real fight 😁.
6. Music and dance:
Music is not just pleasing to ears but can even be a pleasing to parents as an engaging at home activity.
This activity is, these days, played at many functions/ceremonies too.
With his little chair on the floor and giving command to Alexa - Smart speaker (alesshaa as he calls it) at home he just loves playing musical chair with his partner in play - mommy.

Suggestion: This activity can be used as a simple dance to music activity as well, as simple as, playing songs and dancing with your kids. Even playing his favourite rhymes and then asking him to copy the way you do will make it a 'sing and learn' activity too.
7. Playing animal sound:
Love for animals exists in all human beings so is the case with our lil ones. My kid loves to make sounds of his favourite animals (list goes as cow, lion, tiger, goat....).
This is one of his favourite activities since he was just 6 months old. We started making him listen to the sounds of animals through Alexa-smart speaker and till date he loves this activity this way.

Suggestion: You can even ask any of your smart devices (smart speakers, e.g. amazon echo, google home, etc.) to play sounds of animals/birds (anything which your kid loves) and ask him to identify the same. This will help him learn various animals, their sounds and will even help boosting his memory too.
8.Jumping up and down:
This activity is/will somehow be relevant to every childhood, ours too.
Jumping is one of the most loved kid's past time activity. Wherever and whenever, this is something that requires no toy, no help just the mood to jump and jump.
My kid is a real naughty one and his main motive is to jump all over everywhere in the house.
So as an appetite boosting activity too, sometimes I make him jump from/on the bed/sofa to the floor or sometimes simply on the floor (with a simple 'five little monkey rhyme' on).
All kids are real monkeys (nom), hanging on the curtains, jumping here and there is their love and now activity as well.

9. Enacting- Animal race :
We form different animals (like he is a horse and me a poor frog 😜) and race together. I plan goodies (as simple as a chupachup or a candy) too for the winner which makes the game more interesting for him. This helps him build a confidence to run in different ways and have a high spirit to compete for something he really wants to win (a candy here).
Suggestion: A simple toy race (like kid handling one of his fav and you the other) can also be a good option here. Make it more interesting and playful the way you want or the way your kid would love playing it.
10. Hitting the target objects with ball/ indoor bowling alley:
An indoor bowling alley is the activity all love to play so same can be done at home to engage the kids. I simply make a pyramid of disposable glasses and ask my son to stand at a distance and hit it with a small stress ball. This activity engages him for quite a while as 4-5 hits is what he requires to properly make the pyramid fall.

Suggestion: Steel glasses or any set of utensil at home can be used for this activity. I, at times, keep a small glass on top of my moisturising body lotion bottle and ask him to hit the glass, so many of such household items can be replaced with the disposable glass mentioned above as the idea is just to make the child aim and hit the target.
Also making a pyramid with the same item can even be an option. Believe me this really improves his concentration and motor skills.
11. Human/manmade slide for kids/their toys:
This lockdown or to avoid public places due to pandemic, would have made every parent think of avoiding the children parks. So what can be better than creating park similar slides available at home as an alternative to park visits.
Yes, you heard it right. I make slide for my kid using my legs, though he enjoys his father's slide due to the length of slide available 😄 but anyways, he slides on the same and feel happy doing the park activity at home.
I can agree to this that the excitement of meeting friends and playing at park cant be matched here but that's how I can engage him by creating something somewhat similar for him to enjoy being at home.
Suggestion: This activity can be done with multiple big pillows/cushions or even big cardboard boxes (you might have got while ordering groceries for home deliveries or big tv boxes, but toys boxes can even suffice the need).
So if you have any so you are good to go else your own body part will help you doing so😊😊.
12. Building blocks:
Nothing is here to explain how this is used as kid's engaging activity. Just an add on is my son uses the blocks his imaginary ways to make things, like below is the pic which he made out of blocks saying it's a Caterpillar:)

Suggestion: This can be used as a colour learning activity or shapes learning activity or anyway you can think to use it a better way.
13. Building pyramids with disposable glasses or steel glasses:
As discussed in one of the suggestions above you can use any items at home which can be made as a pyramid shape. This will help kid know how to create it and even know exactly what a pyramid is.
14. Spaces vs cross:
For this activity all you would just need is a cello tape and some space.
Just take a black coloured cello tape and make a cross and two minus sign having some space alternatively on the floor. Form a circle or a semi circle out of it. Ask your child not to jump on the cross but just jump on the space between two minus signs. This will be a good physical activity for him plus keep him busy and active for atleast an hour.
Suggestion: The above way of using a cello tape is just to make it look fancy to kids. But you can even use pillows or any other item which you think the kid can jump over again and again without losing his interest.
15. Time for laundry:
Make your child involved in the laundry activity with you. Almost all houses have clothes to wash every other day so take help of your young one so that he too gets involved and is aware of this task of yours.

I make my kid fill the washing machine with the clothes to be washed and he just loves this activity.
16. Sorting toys as per colour:
This is again a learning while doing activity. I put all the toys of my kid in his big toy box and then ask him to keep same colour toys either in smaller boxes or at one place on the floor. This helps in knowing the colours better.

Suggestion: You can ask the child to collect the items of similar shapes or size as per the availability of stuff at home.
17. Passing the parcel:
We use ball here as the parcel, play it as a simple throw/catch game with the ball.

Suggestion: Anything as simple as a stress ball or a small cushion or even a lemon on the kitchen (just to make it fancier) can be used as a parcel here.
18. Soft home cricket:
The word soft here is just to remind the rule of no fours and no sixes in the home please 😅. My lil one loves to play home cricket with his bat and a stress ball for no sound effect😁.

Suggestion: To give him a variety I keep changing the homemade bat😝 from chopping board to spatula to a cardboard and whatever is available and can be used as a bat for him. Try it, the child will start loving cricket more and more.
19. Colouring:
Most of the children love colouring but mine one doesn't like it much so to make him colour either we have to bribe him for a candy or make the colouring technique a bit fancier to gain his interest. Second method of technique is the one we prefer.
So what we do is we try to make him colour with things he like, as in, the colour pencil will be a cotton bud. This is how he gains interest and colours the images.

Suggestion: To gain the interest of the child make him colour his favourite cartoon characters with his favourite colour if any.
20. Home Football:
No details needed I feel. The words themselves tell the story. Play home football with the kid with any small doing no destruction to the other fragile household items. I always prefer using stress balls when planning to play a ball game.

Suggestion: Though not just generic to this activity alone but please don't forget to pat his back when he wins or encourage for the next round when he loses.
Believe me all these activities will really be a fun and learning activities for your kids and will keep them engaged at home. Just try out these, if not already tried, and see that happiness on your kid's face, you will surely love it.

Not to make this post too long I will continue writing about the rest 22 indoor activities in my upcoming post "How to engage toddlers at home (during lockdown)- 42 indoor activities - Part 2" . Please stay tuned.
For the activities above do let me know in the comment section below if you are already doing any of these activities with your little one or the other way you do the same activity.
Also please do share any activity other than the ones listed above, which you might be engaging your kid in. Would really love to add those to my kid's activities list as well.
If you like my post please do write your feedback below in the comment section and also share the same with other parents so that it can be of help to them too.
Do let me know on any other topic you would like me to write about on parenting, would really love to do that.

A. if the child is having abdominal pain give syrup colicaid or syrup cyclopam 5 ml to the child for now
then you have to meet the doctor to find the cause of abdominal pain because it can be either due to gas or due to worms or some other abdominal pathology or gastroenteritis, constipation, digestive issues.
in the meantime it is advisable to give only easily digestible food to the child and water andx buttermilk curd rice and dal.
can give poha upma daliya and fruits.
avoid milk products , packet foods and fried items and heavy diet.
you can continue anti-colicx medicines and your doctor may add antacids for the child for few days it will help in decreasing the gas as well as bloating.
