10 Effective Home Remedies for Heat Rash in Babies
Babies always have extremely sensitive skin, and their body is still in the processing stage. This means you will find significant changes as the body grows and you will also see how the other external factors, like climate change or transition from one place to another, can actually lead to further problems and difficulties for the child. You can even notice how these things, although not dangerous, can make the baby feel very frustrated.
Heat rash can be one of the most irritating things for a little baby. Heat rash happens in the summer when the baby’s body starts sweating quite often. It is a problem that everyone struggles with, adults and babies. However, for a little child, it is really frustrating because of her sensitive skin. When the body sweats a lot, the pores of the skin are blocked, and they don’t expel the excess perspiration which leads to rashes on the skin. This is quite commonly seen in babies, especially when they are in the hot and humid atmosphere.
Skin rashes can be seen in many forms. The signs are red spots, swelling, itching, & small blisters. Mostly the areas that are affected by rashes are the folds in the skin like the neck area, folds in hands or legs etc. You will also notice that the heat rash is more when there is a climate change. This is because the sensitive skin of the little baby doll does not easily adjust to the change in climate.
Your initial thought must have been to see a doctor. However, when you notice rashes, you can actually take some precautionary methods, and you can also follow some amazing home remedies that have absolutely no side effects to it.
Baby Heat Rash Remedies at Home
1. Cold Compress
If your baby is struggling with rashes there is one thing you can do for quick relief. You can wrap ice in a soft cloth that will be comfortable for your baby and dab it on those places that are affected. It will make your little one feel comfortable. During the hot summer, a cold compressor will really relieve you and make you feel good.
2. Cucumber
Cucumber is also a quick relief from heat rashes. One good thing is that you can put cucumber on your baby’s skin directly. Cucumber also has a cooling property in it. And this is what helps the baby while it has rashes. After applying or rubbing cucumber on to rash, you can wash it with cold water, and your little one will feel relieved.
3. Tea Tree Oil
Here’s another option that will really help your baby feel good and comfy. Tea tree oil has anti-inflammatory properties in it and is extremely helpful in soothing your baby’s skin rashes.
4. Coriander
Grounded coriander can also be applied to the areas that are affected. It can be applied to the baby’s skin before your baby’s bath.
5. Gram Flour

You can prepare an oil by diluting a drop or two of chamomile in 2 teaspoons of coconut oil. Apply this to the area that is affected. You will slowly start noticing the rashes disappear.

Fuller’s earth has healing properties. Fuller’s earth has many amazing components to it. In fact, it is rich in magnesium, quartz, calcite, and dolomite. Since it is a natural element, there are no side effects. It also works as antiseptic. You can mix with it rose water and apply it to the child’s skin where there are rashes. Once the paste is dry, wipe it off with cool water.
8. Honey
Honey has quite a few properties that heal baby rashes in a short time. You can apply honey sometime before you take your baby for a bath.

Aloe vera is safe and can help fight the irritating feeling that comes with the rash.

When it is too hot and sweaty, your little one must be feeling really irritated. Rashes on adults itself are something that bothers all of us. So when it comes to children, it is just worse. You can follow any one or more of the items listed above as they are quite safe and do not have any side effects. One more thing you need to do is make sure that your baby is safe and protected from the heat waves from the sun.
Keep your child in a cool temperature as it really helps in avoiding and spreading of heat rash. Even when you go out in the open, make sure not to be directly under the sun for too long as it can cause heat rashes and it can also make things worse. Oral Hygiene Instructions for Infants to School-going Children
Oral Hygiene is the practice of keeping the oral cavity, which includes the teeth, gums, and tongue clean. Parents should start maintaining oral hygiene of their child within a week after birth. The best time to counsel parents regarding oral hygiene is when the mother is expecting because parents to be more receptive at the time. As a dentist, I am here with some oral hygiene instructions for all age groups of kids.
1. Infants (0-1 year old )
Clean and massage the gums with a moistened gauze piece or wet cloth after every feed.
This helps in enhancing blood circulation in the gums and promotes growth of healthy bacteria.
In some kids, the first tooth comes at six months of age, whereas for others, it may come at around one year. So, on the basis of number of teeth erupted, use of a soft toothbrush is advised.
2. Toddlers (1-3 years old )
This is the best age to introduce your child to a tooth brush, if you have not done it earlier.
Brushing should be done by the parents, as the motor skills of children in this age group are not as developed.
Brush your child's teeth only with an infant sized toothbrush with soft bristles.
Only a non-fluoride toothpaste is advisable for kids under three years of age.
3. Preschoolers (3-6 years old)
A fluoride toothpaste can be introduced to kids, once they turn three years old.
The brushing technique of the child should be properly supervised by parents, or parents must assist their children in brushing teeth.
4. School-going kids (6-12 years old )
At this age, children now possess the dexterity to brush their teeth by themselves, but initially still require monitoring and reinforcement.
A fluoride rinse and floss can also be introduced to kids in this age group
The ideal time to replace your child's tooth brush is every three months or when you see the bristles appearing worn out, whichever comes sooner. Oral hygiene practices at home from an early age is very important to prevent condition like cavities and gingivitis in kids.

People With Sisters Turn Out to be Better People: Science Says
Do you have a sister? Then you’d know that she is sometimes a blessing and sometimes not so much (especially when she “borrows” your favourite dress). Science however, says that people who grow up with sisters turn out to be better people, so you may actually have a lot to thank your sister for.
Growing up, sibling-conflicts may be the most common and the most annoying thing to deal with at home. The fact that we know our siblings since birth gives us the liberty to get really mad at them, more than we would get with friends. But it also means more inside jokes, double the clothes, accessories and make-up, covering up for each other and understanding more things than anyone else would bout each other.
Let’s look at all the scientific benefits of having a sister and you might just want to let her have that jacket of yours she really likes, it looks better on her anyway!
1. Your sister has made you more compassionate!
How? Having a sister means that you have to share things. This makes you a more giving person. Sisters promote positive social behaviours like altruism in the way they show you affection. This is because your sister may not show it but you know she is always looking out for you. This inspires the younger sibling to naturally develop that behaviour towards other people.
2. Your sister can give you a mental health pick-me-up
Feeling crappy? Call your sister! A study showed that sisters can boost self-esteem and mental health. Sisters help protect siblings from feeling guilty, lonely, unloved and afraid. You can also count on your sister to give you real, honest feedback for anything under the sun. She won’t sugar-coat it because she will always want what’s best for you.
3. Have Decent Interpersonal Skills? Go Thank your Sister!
Younger siblings have been found to learn how to handle conflict from growing up with an older sister. They also learn how to diffuse difficult situations better. Older sisters too learn to become nurturing and empathetic as people.
“I was always asked to take care of my younger brother as early as 3 years old. Through the years looking out for him came naturally. I realise now how growing up with a brother gave me the training I need to be a better mum. I’m a lot more aware of what my son is going through. I absolutely love being an older sister!”-Radhika,37.
Brother’s who grew up with sisters are found to be better communicators, especially with women
4. You Learn to be Independent from your Sister
Since women are found to be better communicators, they tend to be more encouraging. This leads to the desire of wanting to do better despite failure. The outcome is a sibling that is ambitious and has the confidence to try things out independently.
"I was a shy person growing up with no excellent skills, just a ton of average ones. I would mimic at home and make my family laugh, I would dance gracefully. Outside of home though, I was known as a bad dancer! This one day, my sister’s friends came over and demanded to see me dance. I thought they were pulling my leg but it turns out that my sister had built up my dancing talent so much, that they actually wanted to see it! I decided to take up dancing at age 26 and I can actually give my sister credit for seeing what I couldn’t”-Namrata, 28.
5. Your Sister Teaches You to Cope Better
People with sisters are found to be happier, less stressed and people that are able to deal with stressful situations better. They are also more optimistic as individuals.
“My sister nearly ran away and got married in her early adolescence and everyone including my parents decided to hide it from me. However, I knew something was up and watched her cope with such grace that it helped me deal with HUGE issues till this date. I guess having a sister that dealt with heartbreak so gracefully gave me that confidence that there’s always a way out of problems and you just have to find it”.-Naomi, 34.
So, why exactly are sisters making you better people and not brothers? It just comes back down to how well women express emotions. Emotional expression is the key to a better psychological health.
And let’s be real, she may be the most annoying person, your parents may pamper her more and she may keep stealing your favourite clothes but she is also the one that will have your back when you can’t speak to anyone else, she will always be your constant cheerleader and also the one who can make you see yourself in a light that no one else can. Let’s not forget the silly inside jokes, imprompty singing and dancing and the make-up and hairstyle trials on each other!
She knows your family secrets, because, they are hers too! Your sister will always be your first friend and your best one!

Sometimes no expectation brings positive and beautiful results for the task
Complications are part of Pregnancy some may face only few but some have to fight every day. Lucky are those who give birth without any complications.
So my struggle started in December 2014 when I lost my first child during 7th month of pregnancy due to some complications. My blood pressure was high due to which I was hospitalalized and got discharge after 10 days n then after a week I went for a check up and got to know heart beat is missing. Same story was repeated in 2017 with more complications, more no of days hospitalalization, everything seems to be normal till one scan showed blood is not passing from my atries to babies heart and I had to go through the traumatic situation loosing another child. All I heard since 2014 was all issues were pregnancy induced otherwise I was fit and fine which was more irritating how can u treat the wound if its not visible.
I didn't stop I tried again in 2019 I was been told on the very 1st day that I will have to face all the issues again becoz my pregnancy was high risk due to previous history. I have faced more complications even at worse I had to be in hospital for 2 months. Even doctors said they tried everything which is medically possible only thing left is I have to pass no of days to bring healthy child in this world. I was not allowed to get down from bed during 2 months of hospitalization that was as good as be in jail. Even my doctor use to count no of days. I had only one thing in my mind since day one that I will not give up till the end. All of sudden pain started and next day morning I had my little girl in hand. 2019 was very crucial but blissful. Never loose hopes and be strong to handle everything that comes on your way. Read more
