10 Reasons for Irregular and Delayed Periods After Marriage
A woman’s menstrual cycle is a key part of her reproductive and physical health. Periods occur every month on a schedule that can sometimes be interrupted. When these interruptions become regular and delayed or make your cycle harder to predict, it can be a scary experience. That is why learning about irregular menstrual cycles and the reality behind them is essential to your mental, physical, emotional and reproductive health.
What Is an Irregular Menstrual Cycle?
An irregular menstrual cycle is when your period schedule is delayed due to a number of reasons. This is a common occurrence that almost every woman faces at some point in her life. It may be the consequence of a number of issues including stress but there may be other reasons as well. It could be a drastic change in the environment that has affected your body or it could also be an active sex life that has changed your cycle. The causes are numerous and most of them are not dangerous.
Causes of Irregular Periods After Marriage
To ensure you keep calm when your periods are delayed, it is essential to understand what the reasons for your delayed or irregular period may be. Here are 10 reasons why irregular periods after marriage could occur.
1. Emotional Stress
Marriage is always a blissful union of two souls becoming one. This can also be a very stressful time. After all, during this time you are constantly on edge because you are making plans for the actual wedding, settling into life after marriage, and sorting out a balanced routine with your partner. The awkward conversation about when and if at all you want children, the vulnerability of the huge commitment you have made and a lot of emotional stress during this period of your life is one of the factors that can, in extreme situations, lead to delayed periods. Your periods should get back to normal once you settle in and the stress subsides.
2. Pregnancy
Most couples, after marriage, expect a drastic spike in sexual activity. This could lead to you becoming pregnant and one of the signs of pregnancy is an irregular or delayed period.
3. Birth Control Pills
Birth control is known to have numerous side effects, one of the most common ones experienced by women is a change in their menstrual cycle. To rule this out, you can consult your doctor. If it is the birth control pills, you can ask your doctor for other means of contraception that are available and just as effective.
4. PCOS
Another very common cause of delayed periods is polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). This is not an extremely dangerous disease and can be managed with medication and lifestyle changes.
5. Drastic Weight Gain
It is very common, after marriage, for your lifestyle to change. In some cases, this means you put on a few pounds. One of the side effects of weight gain is a change in your menstrual cycle. This should sort itself out if you lose those extra kilos.
6. Drastic Weight Loss
Like with the weight gain, it is also common for you to lose weight at a rapid pace, this is one of the most common and treatable reasons for your delayed periods.
7. Thyroid Irregularity
In cases where you have a thyroid issue, it can cause a delay or irregular periods. This is one of the reasons that doctors recommend you to get your thyroid checked every 6 months. Issues like hypothyroidism can be dangerous so it is recommended you follow up with a doctor if you have this issue or suspect you do.
8. Breastfeeding
A very common side effect of pregnancy and one that is less harmful is the fact that your period is delayed because you are breastfeeding. When caring for your little one, your body is still recovering from immense physical stress and the chemicals aren’t yet balanced.
9. Lifestyle Changes
In most cases of delayed periods due to non-medical situations, the cause is a drastic shift in lifestyle and environment. This includes an extreme change of diet and a sudden increase or decrease in physical activity.
10. Sleep Irregularities
Sleep deprivation leads to physical stress and this can cause irregular periods. It is recommended that you sleep for at least 6-8 hours at a stretch. If you are unable to sleep, it is recommended you see a doctor as it could be a sign of anything from obstructive sleep apnea to depression. Once you have a regular sleep cycle, your periods should become normal if this was the cause.
How Can Irregular Periods Affect Your Chances of Getting Pregnant?
A common fear women have is that delayed periods after marriage can affect their chances of becoming pregnant. This is a valid fear as the chances can be lower if the cause of your delayed period is due to medical reasons like PCOD. In most cases, if your period is delayed for a month or two, there is nothing to be worried about.
When to Consult a Doctor?
In some cases, a delayed period may be dangerous and you may need medical assistance:
If your periods are delayed for more than three consecutive months
If your delayed period is accompanied by bloody urine or stools
If your delayed period is accompanied by nausea and vomiting for more than 3 days consecutively
If the delay or irregular periods are caused by a medication you recently went on
If your periods are delayed and it is accompanied by lower abdominal pain
In case you had sexual intercourse recently and believe that pregnancy is the reason for your delayed periods
If the delay in your period is causing you anxiety
When the delay in your period is also accompanied by a loss of appetite
How to Treat and Prevent Irregular Periods at Home
When considering how to cure irregular periods after marriage, it is important to note that there are several measures you can take once you know the cause. It is essential that you seek medical advice before starting any treatment. The steps mentioned below are safe and may help you cure your delayed periods:
Eat a balanced diet regularly
Avoid alcohol
Avoid drugs
Avoid smoking
Sleep for 6-8 hours consecutively
Do some yoga
Exercise regularly
Take your vitamins
If PCOD is the cause, take the required medication
Find activities to help you reduce or eliminate stress
It is essential that you do not self-medicate in any manner before you consult your physician. In most cases, delayed periods are not life-threatening and can be solved with lifestyle changes. Do not medicate without the supervision of your OB/GYN.

How to Apply for a PAN Card for a Child
Minor is a person who is below the age of 18 years. Many people think that their children can get a PAN (Permanent Account Number) Card only when they become adults, that is after they reach the age of 18 years. However, that is not true. Although children can't apply for a PAN card, their parents can. If you think your child does not need one before he or she starts earning, then you might be mistaken. Let’s take a look at why it is important for a child to have a PAN Card.
Why and When Does a Child Need a PAN Card?
Your child will need to have a PAN Card if you make her a nominee of any of your investment scheme. If you are planning to make an investment in your child’s name, then you will be asked to submit a copy of her PAN card. The Permanent Account Number will also come in handy if you want to open a bank account in your child’s name, though it is not absolutely necessary.
A child will need a PAN card if she is earning. A child’s income from any investment or income is not taxable unless:
The child has a physical disability, is completely blind etc.
The child earns through her own skill, knowledge, or talent.
The child has earned an income on her own.

Celebrating Janmashtami With My Child
India is a country of festivals, and we have abundant occasions to celebrate new beginnings, be it of a season or life. Many seasonal cycles highlight fasting as a means to detox the body, praying for detox of the soul and performing acts of singing and dancing to celebrate. Every occasion is filled with colourful decorations, specific to the theme around the God around whom the festival revolves. One of my and my son's favourites is Janmashtami.
I have many fond memories of my celebrating Janmashtami during childhood, praying for ample rainfall so that we could get a second day off at school after Janmashtmi, preparing makhan and gud ke laddoo, setting up a jhanki with my sister, and listening to our parents recite stories from their childhood and of Lord Krishna. In turn, I want my son to have all these memories, and more, by celebrating this festival.
Janmashtami, also known as Krishna Janmashtmi, celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna to Devaki and Vasudev. Remembered as the eighth avatar of Vishnu, he was born on the eighth day of krishna paksha during the Shravan month, according to Hindu scriptures. Today, his birth signifies the beginning of the end of evil, and is celebrated as an important festival in most Indian homes.
On this day, Hindu’s all over the world observe a fast and celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna. People commemorate the day with the ceremonial breaking of the matki – a tradition where many groups of men and women form human pyramids to reach a matki hanging at a height, and break it. Local artists perform plays and dance performances depicting the life of Lord Krishna and many parents dress up their kids as Lord Krishna's baal roop.
When my son was less than a year old, I dressed him up as Baal Gopal by draping my dupatta over him, dressing him with all jewels I had, and handing him a dahi handi for the first time. Ever since, he has an undying love for mishti dahi.
We all wait for this festival every year, and Nabh is more eager to get his share of dahi makhan and mishri. He gets excited about visiting the temple on Janmashtmi, even more, because after getting putting a tilak on his forehead, the Pundit ji always gives him prasad comprising all the favourite food of Krishna. My baby willingly wears a dress of my choice because he knows he'll later get his favourite prasad. Children are too smart, I tell you.
What festivals do you celebrate and does your child love participating in them? Let's talk!

Watch These Bengaluru Moms and Their Babies Dance Together Like Never Before!
What all do you do with your baby? As moms, we love to cuddle our little bundles of joy, sing lullabies to them, make funny faces and sounds, and rock them to sleep. But what if we told you there is one terrific activity you can do with your baby that is great not just for bonding but also for exercise? At a recent event, Bengaluru moms showed us a brilliant example that we haven't been able to get over...
And then, suddenly, they were in for a big surprise.
More than 35 moms, wearing their babies, came together for a flash mob and put up one of the most spectacular dance performances we have ever seen! Who says breastfeeding and motherhood restrict you from doing things you enjoy? While many of us may not be comfortable with baby-wearing, these moms definitely showed us that it can be liberating and comforting at the same time. Nothing like holding your baby so close to you, right?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6Zj3ZEns6M
The event was organised by Breastfeeding Support for Indian Moms (BSIM), a mommy support Facebook group started in 2013 by Pune Mom Adhunika Prakash. For the last three years, BSIM has helped new moms address their queries about breastfeeding and baby-wearing, and settle down into the challenging role of motherhood.
Through this event, BSIM also built a strong case for baby-wearing – something that even experts recommend to aid cognitive development in infants. Not just that, it seems baby-wearing can even support breastfeeding moms by increasing milk-production. This is the magic of skin-to-skin contact with your moppet.
That aside. we are completely in awe of the ease and confidence of these new moms. They inspire us to take the challenges of motherhood in our stride and remember that come what may, your baby is going to put everything right. Your baby doesn't restrict you; instead, he is your source of strength.
Hats off, Bengaluru Moms. This is one dance we'd love to see more often! Read more

A. Puss is common with kids but I would just like to tell you if the water is continuously there then that could be due to tear duct blockage so keep cleaning the eyes regularly and also you should do a massage onto the nose of your child the area of clockwise and anti-clockwise
