When Will Your Baby Start Sleeping Through The Night?
As parents, you may be wondering when will my baby start sleeping without waking up several times through the night. For new parents, it can become very tiring to manage both the child and their work life. Most infants have different sleeping habits which will start to materialize post 6 months.

Sleeping through the night means getting complete rest for about six to eight hours without waking up. For babies, this usually happens after their night time feeding and it is continuous, without any interruption or discomfort. While some babies can sleep for six to eight hours at a stretch as young as at 3 months, others may take longer, almost up to a year.
Developmental Hurdles before your Baby Sleeps All Night
Before your baby can sleep through the night consistently, there are many physical, mental hurdles she needs to surpass.
Some of them are
Increased feeding and weight gain
Decreased startle or Moro reflex which causes baby’s legs to jerk in response to triggers such as loud noise, change in sleeping position or even a bad dream. It usually disappears after the 4th month
Fewer feedings at night time
Help your child increase abilities of self-soothing by sucking on her finger or pacifier, to help her go back to sleep if she wakes up in the middle of the night
When Do Most Babies Sleep All Night?
Infants do wake up in the middle a couple of times to yawn and stretch and settle themselves.
Once your infant is tired and sleepy she goes to sleep within 5-10 minutes of putting them to bed. This usually starts happening past the 6-month mark.
0-4 Months
When your baby is a newborn, she is new to this world and hence does not have a set pattern of sleeping. Her naps will be on demand and can be for anywhere between 45 minutes to 120 minutes. The main goal at this age is to keep the baby well rested. Your baby must sleep for 12-16 hours in a day.
4-6 Months
When your baby becomes 4 months of age her naps should be reduced from 4 to 3. She will also nap for 30-45 minutes in one cycle. By the time she turns 5-6 months, she can sleep for 2-2 ½ hours but with assistance. Around this time, you can start preparing a schedule for her. Prioritize your baby’s nap and start preparing a nice environment for her to sleep in. The total sleep time during the day should be 3-4 ½ hours and the rest at night.
7-9 Months
During this age period, it is time to further down the number of naps from 3 to 2. During the day your baby needs to sleep a total of 3-4 hours only. Start solidifying her schedule i.e. ensure same time to bed and to wake up. Get your baby to sleep for 2-2 ½ hours during each nap cycle. Start creating a night time routine for her to start following.
10-12 Months
Once your baby reaches close to a year, most of her day will be set into a routine. Feeding time and napping time will stabilize so it is important to maintain the nap schedule to only 2-2 ½ hours during the day. A total of 3-4 hours during the day is required for your baby to be well rested and happy. During the night time, you can start putting the baby to sleep for a longer time and teach her self-soothing techniques. The bedtime timings can be extended to a later time so that your baby goes to sleep as soon as she is put to bed.
When your baby is over a year, the nap time can be reduced to once a day and for a duration of 2+ hours. It may take a while for your baby to adjust to any new sleeping pattern so be patient and consistent. If you are frustrated and cannot get your baby to nap, take a small walk and come back and try again. With time, your baby will be able to adjust to a schedule that is convenient for you and your partner.

Prolong night feeding time as she can go to bed full

Pick up cues from your baby and sync yourself to their schedule. If you see your baby yawn and seem tired put her to bed
Set up a sleeping schedule i.e. put her to bed at the same time every day
Create a night time routine so that your infant can pick up on those cues and get used to going to bed as soon as the routine starts. Reading a bedtime story, a nice bath before bed can all be good bedtime rituals
Putting an infant to sleep can be an overwhelming task; so make sure you get adequate help and support to set a pattern. Work as a team and get help from your partner whenever you are too exhausted to continue. Most importantly, remember it will take time.

2. Nasal Spray
If you are suffering from a runny nose or if you feel it is congested, go for a nasal spray instead as it is considered to be the best antihistamine while breastfeeding.
3. Oral Antihistamine
Non-sedating antihistamines are the more preferred kind to use while nursing as only a minimal amount of it will be allowed into the breast milk and it is highly unlikely to pose any threats to your baby.
Natural Antihistamines Which Can be Used When Breastfeeding
Natural antihistamine while nursing is often a better option to prevent the onset of allergies. Here we have some natural forms of antihistamines that you can consider while you are breastfeeding:
1. Ginko
This Chinese herb is commonly used in Ayurveda and can be used as an antihistamine. It is also very commonly used in the treatment of tinnitus, bronchitis, glaucoma, blood circulation problems and asthma.
2. Stinging Nettle
Though the name may be off-putting, stinging nettle is an antihistamine that is natural and safe for breastfeeding mothers to use and it also aids in your overall good health. It is very useful as it hinders the activities of histamines, reduces the symptoms of seasonal allergies, is able to treat hay fever, gout, eczema and joint pain.
3. Jewelweed
An ancient Native American remedy for the ill effects caused by Poison Ivy, Jewelweed contains corticosteroids, which are useful when dealing with contact dermatitis, bee stings and other allergic reactions.
4. Flavonoids
Flavonoids are present in onions, broccoli, apples, garlic, tea, legumes, parsley, wine etc. in the form of quercetin. Quercetin aids in controlling allergies and the inflammation caused by it.

In the era of two working parents, most of us have enough money to cater to the wishes of our children. Every family has a different living style. Some save more and consume less, and others live life to the fullest and spend a lot.
There should be a balance in spending. Saving all the time may make your child feel that he or she doesn't have anything - he or she needs at least a few toys to play with, and their parents to teach them how to play and to be a partner in play. Parents must give their children company even in the absence of toys. For example, if we are talking about indoor games, it could be hide-and-seek, antakshari, the dictionary game - these games do not require you to spend money but invest your precious time with your child.
For outdoor games, parents should go out for walks with their kid, go running or jogging, play pakdan pakdai, etc. Parents should teach their kids how to play - children these days don't have a habit of playing these games because the culture of playing on the streets has disappeared owing to traffic and parents being busy. Please don't let this happen to your child's golden days. Your kid should never grow up to say that he has not played games like pakdan pakdai or hide-and-seek.
My story of expensive toys:
I will share my case with you - I admit that saying things is easier than implementing them. My husband and I both work. My child is 5+ years of age. Since day one, I've lived with the guilt of not giving him enough time. I always feel like I should go to school to pick him up, get his homework done, and accompany him to the park and play with him. Yes, there is a big difference a parent can create in a child's life with their company.
Due to this guilt, I used to get many things for my child. I never allowed him to demand things - I would bring it to him without question. So what ultimately happened was that he stopped having the craze for those things. He started taking things for granted and not pay attention to the value of those things. A child is unaware of the cost of items like games and toys, so their feelings are different.
On the other hand, we as parents are always away, so my child is being raised by my in-laws. And in the process of keeping the child happy, they also end up getting more and more things and overspending on the child - something he never got the chance to demand.
Now, he has a habit of buying things. He is not aware of the cost of those things, but he needs and desires everything, and gets fussy when he doesn't get it. He has so many new and latest toys at home, but he doesn't have the patience to play with them because he is always looking to buy something else, something new. He asks where his red bat is - he has so many to play with that he has to choose one. If he doesn't find it, he cries. There's less playing, more crying.
When kids get multiple options to look around, they get confused about what to do. It's not like he doesn't play at all - he plays with blocks and with other games, but it is just better to have fewer options as they will be happier. We tried a lot to control this. With time, he is also growing so things are improving, but at a slow pace.
So, dear friends and new mommies especially, do not overspend on your kids. It doesn't reflect your financial status. Give them healthy food and play with them. Stress more on outdoor games. Take your child to the park. Make him run, play, and help improve his motor skills. It will actually help him to be mentally and physically fit.
Do not price your guilt with the cost of toys. Just replace it with your company. That will keep your baby happy.

Treatment - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Social phobia is treated by focusing on physical symptoms, identifying anxiety-leading thoughts and developing coping mechanisms. This is known as Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) where the toddlers are gradually taught to replace negative, destructive thoughts with positive affirming ones. Usually, in case of toddlers and younger children, parents are trained in CBT who then go on to provide therapy to their offspring. CBT helps you to identify unhelpful belief systems in your little one and make a gradual shift to realistic and balanced thinking. It also involves developing social skills in your child so that he reacts positively to situations and people.
However, as parents or caregivers, you should learn to stay calm, patient and take one day at a time while dealing with your socially anxious toddler. Give your child full attention when he’s voicing his worst fears. Appreciate him when he has conquered it. Don’t laugh. Let your little one know that he’s not the only one who’s going through these phobias. Tell a childhood tale when you went through the same thing. Tell him that fears are only temporary. Encourage your child to develop coping mechanisms such as calm breathing or rational thinking.
Finally, learn to accept your child for what he is. Sometimes, parents unconsciously trigger these panic attacks in their little ones through unrealistic expectations. What’s pregnancy without a couple (or more) of wild cravings? If you are one of those lucky and super-in-control women who don’t have cravings, we bow to you. However, many of us crave for food when expecting – either sweet, savoury, or plain weird tastes. While doctors recommend that a balanced diet is key for a pregnant women, they will also agree to this – it’s okay to let yourself go once in a while! A happy heart maketh a happy body!
Esha seems to be having a blast enjoying sugary food during pregnancy. She recently posted a picture of herself in a cupcake shop, saying, “Hummmmm!!!! And my expression says it all - waiting for my cup cakes! Need the sugar rush as I shop!” Well, since Esha is also carefully monitoring her diet, exercises, yoga and meditation, she sure is allowed the occasional cupcake!
5. Spend Time With Your Mom
No one like mom to give you reassurance, faith and pampering when you need it most! As a pregnant mom, it is a great idea to spend time with your favourite person in the world – the one who loves you unconditionally and will give you expert tips to manage this challenging phase of life.
Esha is opting to spend a lot of time with mom Hema Malini as she prepares to bring her baby into the world. As per a source, she is staying with her mother and visiting her in-laws regularly. Friends play a very important role during pregnancy; they keep you feeling charged up, excited and delighted. 7. Don’t Let Anyone Judge You or Dictate Terms During Pregnancy
Recently, Celina posted a picture of herself where she’s wearing a bikini and showing her baby bump. To many people, this picture might probably come across as ‘offensive’, ‘boastful’ or ‘something only celebs and fit people can do’. But in posting this picture, Celina has a deeper message – we need to feel free as women, and as pregnant women. We must not allow anyone else to dictate terms or give us appropriate code of conduct. This is essential to stay positive, free and happy – and keep your baby happy and healthy too.

Talking about the picture, Celina says, “Despite the not-so-glamorous effects that come along with the blessings of a twin pregnancy on one’s body, it was very important for me to be a role-model who radiates confidence, self-respect and friendliness for other adults and children in our size-oriented society. Everyone believes in preconceived stereotypes about how pregnant Indian women should conduct themselves and their pregnancies.”
Celina’s point is that she is free to do as she likes, just as any other Indian woman is, despite social judgment about how a woman’s body is supposed to be, or how a pregnant woman is supposed to behave. She says, “It is not proving a point but it is accepting and conveying the fact that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. It is important for women to embrace their journeys on a physical level and be proud of what the body is capable of doing.” Well said, Celina!

A. many times and the most common cause would be due to accumulation of milk clots and sometimes it can be neurogenic pain and sometimes it might be a partx any local mass like lymph nodes or tissue pain.
if it is not improving with simple massage as well as simple hot compressesx and expression of accumulated milk then meet your doctor at the earliest for local examination.
you can take paracetamol for pain.
