The One Thing That Made My Toddler's Swimming Sessions Fun!
’Go, baby.. Swim’ I said these words to my toddler when he entered in a pool for the first time. He was all excited by seeing and experiencing this much water. I was also excited as a mother. I wanted my boy to learn some new skills, a new sport which was so special to us as parents. I really wished since his birth that my boy should learn swimming skills asap, not only with an objective of a safety but for his enjoyment too. Also, if he learns swimming at this age, it will be much easier than later as babies are not born afraid of water.
I, as a child did not know how to swim but had always been fascinated. That’s how I know how much fun have I missed!
Well, now no regrets! But my husband and I were firm that we will do frequent visits to our nearby pools to make my baby comfortable with swimming. So, that day when we took him to the pool side, he was looking very enthusiastic and eager. His energy was higher than the normal state. And he was ready to enter into a pool.
But wait a minute, was I ready for the same? Suddenly so many concerns started coming in my head. I was totally mugged with so many ifs and buts. My focus shifted to my worries than his swimming session. And you know, what was that one concern which started banging my head suddenly?
That was, ‘What if he poops or pees in the middle of the pool?’ ‘What would I do?’ ‘How would I manage the situation?’ ‘What about the hygiene?’ ‘Would people judge me for that?’ Well, that half an hour session was complete and thank god, nothing I had thought, happened. But one thing I noticed was, I did not enjoy those 30 mins which was supposed to be super fun for me as a mom. I murmured to myself, ‘Khushbu, this is not done. You can’t keep it going like this.’
I decided to find an easy option for this which can make our swimming session worry free and amusing. I googled, I asked my friends, I talked to other mommy friends and guess what, I found the best solution for my tension free and enjoyable pool time. Many of them suggested me this cool thing.
That was Pampers Splashers Swim Pants.
As we all know that if we make our babies wear routine diapers, it goes soggy.
If only a swimwear, then a constant fear of peeing or pooping, but when it comes to Pampers Splashers, we need not to worry about these things. Splashers are the best options for the pool, beach, splash park visits and more.
Well, here are the qualities because of which I choose Pampers Splashers for my water crazy toddler:
Leak Proof
Splashers have got dual Leak Guard Barriers which prevents pee and poo from leaking out. So, you can keep the pool clean and prevent any kind of infections. And that means that as parents, you can have fun in the pool without any worry or distraction.
Prevents Swelling Under Water
Yes, Unlike a regular diaper, Splashers does not swell hence giving your baby that extra comfort to make a splash
Fits Like Swimwear
Pampers Splashers are Pant style diapers. It has a snug fit just like any usual swimwear which gives your kid the best swimming experience
Cool Pictures on Diaper
Colorful pictures on diapers are fun and cute. Actually the designs and the graphics on the diapers make them look like real swimwear.
Easy Tear Sides
You can easily remove the Splashers after the baby is out of pool just by tearing the sides. These swim pants are easily removable when wet also.
Stretchy Waistband
Because of its 360 degree waistband, it provides the best fit even in the water.
Well, let me tell you guys, as soon as I received my first pack of Pampers Splashers, I couldn’t wait for my son to wear it. And the first session with Splashers went really good. Well, as a mother I was still worried and kept checking whether everything is under control and what a sigh of relief!
My toddler looked comfortable, he had a real fun and what about me? I was busy clicking cool splash pictures of my son and husband.
Moms, Splashers are diapers which are specially made for Swimming! They are being imported from Poland and these high quality swimming diapers help ensure us a perfect and fun swim time for our babies.
As parents, we don’t want to compromise on anything for our babies. Right? We buy attractive bathrobe, stylish swimsuit, sunscreen to protect our baby’s skin. But what about our kid’s cute bummies? Of course, we want to protect them from rashes, wish to maintain the hygiene, then, can’t we choose such diapers which are specially designed and made for swimming only?
Well, I am now enjoying every minute of our little swim sessions! I wish you the same! Good luck mommies.

20 Top Inspirational & Motivational Quotes for Children
Inspiration is all one needs to achieve the unimaginable. Words of wisdom, a piece of advice, a pep talk or a motivational quote can get someone motivated enough to get going.
Children are no different from adults. Kids need to be motivated all the time. Rewards and motivation have long been proven as an incentive to get children to do something that they are not interested in or refuse to do completely. As parents, we often fail to express our thoughts in a manner that enforces a point that we want to make. It is the values that parents impart to children that will build their personality and lay the foundation for a strong future.
Positivity is an important character trait that needs to be instilled in kids today. The children of today have their own set of beliefs and values, and question anything that does not agree with the social milieu. Children have access to a lot of information, a lot of which is negative. They are often confronted with several crude incidents and remarks that tend to have an adverse bearing on their innocent minds. Children build their own identity from an early age and question the world around them to identify their place under the sun. This method of reflecting on their own self is an excellent way to build their personality and to inculcate good habits, and a positive talk serves as a contributing factor to become someone with a pleasing demeanour.
There are several ways to introduce positivity in kids and to assure them that they can achieve what they want to. Most children get told what should be or should not be done. That is definitely not an effective way to deal with them. Limiting their minds restricts their freedom of thought and structure. Children need a healthy dose of motivation, similar to their daily intake of vegetables, to become capable of achieving their dreams and ambitions.
Children should be led by example. The early influence of the writings and quotes of famous personalities could help in laying the foundation for the grooming of a strong personality. There is no dearth of motivational quotes written by eminent and distinguished personalities from various walks of life. Read on to find out a few inspirational quotes that truly motivate and could stir one’s soul. These quotes with their profound meaning leave an impressionable impact on the lives of people who learn and understand them.
Inspirational Quotes for Children To Inspire Their Best Attitude
“If you have good thoughts, they will shine out of your face like sunbeams, and you will always look lovely.” – Roald Dahl
Amazing thoughts can do remarkable things to a person. Positive thinking fills the body and spirit with indomitable positive energy that expands and creates an aura around you. This creates a ripple effect, and the positive energy is dissipated to those around you, and happy thought spread happiness and inspiration around you.
“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” – Mahatma Gandhi
We want to change several things around us but don’t know where to make a start. We want more peace and less war; we want better health and no illnesses, we want more resources and less poverty. Well, then the only way to get there is to make a start within you. If you want to see a peaceful world, adopt non-violence. Just as charity begins at home, change begins within you.
“It always seems impossible until it is done.” – Nelson Mandela
A common man in the olden days would never have thought that it would be possible to fly up in the sky, visit space or even land on the moon. But it has happened. Most things seem seemingly impossible to achieve, but it is just that the solutions have not been thought of yet. Dedicated thinking, effort, perseverance by people in making the impossible possible are the ones who succeed and reach the finishing line.
“Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.” – Albert Einstein
Life has three phases to it- the past, present and the future. Lessons from the past are not meant to be forgotten; pick the learnings and store it in your memory for life. They will help you lead a better today and live each moment that comes by. Tomorrow is not known to anyone, so keep hoping for the best and be prepared for the worst to avoid any disappointments.
“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing. The worst thing you can do is nothing.” – Theodore Roosevelt
Things could go wrong anytime, even if you try your level best to avoid it. Even if you do something right by the books, the result could turn out to be something you didn't want. However, what matters is you tried. It is always better than doing nothing. You never know if your effort could have a positive bearing on someone else.
“All your dreams can come true if you have the courage to pursue them.” – Walt Disney
Dreaming is easy but pursuing them is not. Pursuing your dream requires courage, struggle, and a positive spirit to overcome every challenge thrown your way. But a dream can come true only if you are willing to pursue them by moving on and not stopping if you face any setbacks.
“We know what we are but know not what we may be.” – Shakespeare
One of the best motivational quotes for children, it just elicits that we underestimate our capacity very often. We have certain knowledge about our capabilities but what we fail to understand is that we can never predict what we could evolve into. It is prudent to put our capabilities to test time and again as the outcomes could be a surprise to us.
“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” - Winston Churchill
An aptly suited children’s inspirational quote, it is appropriate to instil a philanthropist attitude in children today. The materialistic ways of the world have left us living on what we received and earn but made us forget that there is a part of the world which needs our help. A helping hand is always welcome, and Winston Churchill drives home the point of sharing with the underprivileged as a means to self-redemption.
“The time is always right to do what is right.” - Martin Luther King Jr
We often contemplate on the right time to do things. But what we often forget is that by doing the right thing you are bringing in the right time. When you have conviction in your actions, you need not look for an appropriate time to do it. By doing it, you reinforce that it brings good tidings.
“Life is a succession of lessons which must be lived to be understood.” –Helen Keller
No one could have explained life in a better way. Helen Keller, who was deaf, mute, and blind, learnt the realities of life at a very early age and overcame her disabilities. Each phase of life has to be experienced as a lesson, learning to cherish and understand its impact on our future.
“Preparation is the key to success.” – Alexander Graham Bell
No task is achievable without a reasonable amount of preparation. One of the most suitable inspirational quotes for kids in school, it highlights the importance of being adequately prepared to find success. It can be repeated often to kids who are appearing for exams.
“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” – Thomas A. Edison
It is said that Edison invented the light bulb only on his hundredth attempt. When someone asked him about why he failed 99 times, he simply answered saying he never failed but he tried 99 times. One of the most inspirational thoughts for children, it highlights the importance of never giving up and trying until you succeed. If we give up, it means we accept defeat, and that is in no way a path to success.
“Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.” – Robert F. Kennedy
Failure is the stepping stone to success, and those who dare to fail will definitely succeed. Failure is learning and the ladder to achieve great success.
“The dictionary is the only place where success comes before work.” – Mark Twain
Success was not meant to come before hard work. If you want to be successful, there is a certain amount of effort that is involved. Success does not precede hard work but follows it.
“Nothing is particularly hard if you break it down into small jobs.” – Henry Ford
A very useful piece of advice to someone trying to achieve a mighty task. Break down your tasks and tick the box as you complete each one to mark the final tick that accomplishes everything.
“Only surround yourself with people who will lift you higher.” – Oprah Winfrey
Always be in the company of people who will uplift your spirits and not pull you down. Friend, relatives or acquaintances you hang out with must be the ones who believe in your potential and encourage you, and not discourage you.
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” -Dr. Seuss
Success does not belong to the smartest. It belongs to the one who is willing to try, to learn, and to fail. A commitment to learning and a focus on goals will help you go places.
“Wonder is the beginning of wisdom”- Socrates
You stop personal growth the day you stop wondering. It is not unusual to be curious or ask questions. Seeking answers is the best way to gain wisdom and knowledge. There is nothing to be shy or ashamed about asking questions or being quizzical. Questioning is a sign of learning that eventually leads to success.
“We are what we repeatedly do.”- Aristotle
We often construe our failures or mistakes as an omen to stop trying. On the other hand, if we learn from our mistakes, we could try again. We may fail again but striving to keep trying will then become a habit. Anything done persistently will automatically evolve into a habit and eventually result in success.
“Make each day your masterpiece.”- John Wooden
Wake up each morning to paint a new picture on the canvas of life. Thank the Almighty for the gift of today and do your best to create a masterpiece with the day in hand. Do something that will leave you with infinite happiness and satisfaction for living the day.
Feed a spoonful of these quotes to your kids every day to supplement them with pearls of wisdom. Inspire them to achieve the best by creating an imprint on their impressionable minds. These quotes will have a long-standing effect on their character and personality traits.

10 Common Sunscreen Ingredients That Can Harm Your Child
As we have been told by our parents and elders, an excess of anything isn't good, not even sunshine. While outdoors, you need to protect your little one’s tender skin from harmful UV (ultraviolet) radiations of the sun. However, do check that the sunscreen you are applying doesn't have potentially toxic chemicals which can cause a range of disorders from skin allergies to even cancer!
Sunscreens broadly fall into 2 categories- mineral and chemical. Mineral sunscreens protect the skin by blocking or reflecting the harmful radiations of the sun. On the other hand, chemical sunscreens are absorbed into the skin to filter and absorb UV rays thereby protecting deeper layers. However, while choosing brands, avoid the following 10 dubious ingredients to reap the benefits of sunscreen and sidestep the potentially harmful side effects.
Dangerous Ingredients In Sunscreen That You Must Avoid
1. Oxybenzone
This common ingredient in chemical sunscreens accumulates faster than our body can get rid of it. Eczema like allergic reactions can be caused when oxybenzone is absorbed by your child’s skin. Experts also suspect that oxybenzone disrupts your child’s hormones and endocrine system.
2. Octinoxate
Another sunscreen culprit is the commonly found chemical octinoxate which produces free radicals that can cause long-term damage to skin and cells. It's also believed to disrupt your child's hormonal balance.
3. Cinoxate
This active ingredient in sunscreens can cause skin rashes and other serious allergic reactions like swelling, especially of the face /tongue /throat, severe dizziness and breathing problems.
4. Retinyl Palmitate(Vitamin A Palmitate)
This active ingredient in sunscreens with anti-ageing powers breaks down when exposed to the sun's UV rays, and produces destructive free toxic radicals. These damage DNA and can even cause skin tumours and cancer.
5. Homosalate
These are UV-absorbing toxic sunscreen ingredients that tend to accumulate in our bodies and turn toxic over time. They can disrupt our hormones when the exposure is for long durations. ||
6. Paraben Preservatives
This common toxic chemical in sunscreens can lead to both acute and chronic side effects. Allergic reactions, hormone disruption, developmental and reproductive toxicity are a few harmful ingredients in sunscreen you strictly need to avoid.
7. Octocrylene
This chemical which is easily absorbed and retained by the body is particularly harmful when exposed to UV light. It produces oxygen radicals which can not only damage human cells and cause mutations but are also toxic to the environment.
8. Nanoparticles (Zinc Dioxide/Titanium Dioxide)
This can be risky when inhaled through sunscreens in spray forms. Your child's lungs have difficulty cleaning small particles, which may, therefore, pass from the lungs into the bloodstream. Extensive organ damage can be caused by soluble nanoparticles that penetrate skin or lung tissue.
9. Methylisothiazolinone(MI)
A common chemical preservative used in sunscreens is a potent allergen and can cause acute skin allergies in children. Definitely, one of the most alarming ingredients to avoid in sunscreen!
10. Fragrance
Synthetic fragrances used in some sunscreens contain harmful chemicals which might disrupt your child’s hormonal system. These are bad ingredients in sunscreen that can have long-term side effects.
This sure sounds scary! As concerned moms, try to choose herbal sunscreens that do not have these harmful chemicals. Also, make sure your child wears a hat and a full shirt when in the sun. Opt for a diet high in antioxidants which protect and nurture the skin. Fruits and veggies are your best bet here. Read more

Sunbaths for Babies and the Best Time to Give It.
It is common to see a baby having a sunbath in the morning. This activity provides warmth and the morning sunbathing thins sputum, reduces jaundice due to high bilirubin, and activates the formation of vitamin D inside the body. Vitamin D may prevent bone disorders by helping the absorption of calcium.
Despite the many benefits, sunbathing a baby should be carefully done. Excessive sun exposure to your little one may increase the risk of skin cancer later. This is the reason why protection from sunlight is vital for your little one. The American Academy of Pediatrics has released a guideline that babies of 0 to 6 months should not be exposed to sunlight directly.
Indonesian Pediatric Society (IDAI) recommends that babies should be sunbathed in clothes. About 30 minutes before sunbathing, rub the babies’ skin with sunblock of SPF 15 in minimum. Avoid sunlight exposure between 10 am to 4 pm due to its highest radiation of UVB rays. A child with a family history of skin cancer, fair-skinned, or freckles/brown spots on the face should be more careful.
So, when is the proper time to sunbathe your little one? Child health experts said that the best time is between 6 to 7.30 am, where the sunlight is not yet intense and stingy. It does not take too long to sunbathe your little one; 10 to 30 minutes is the maximum. Avoid dust exposure while sunbathing. If the situation and condition are not feasible, do not force sunbathing your little one.
Make sure your little one’s eyes are not exposed to direct sunlight while sunbathing. You can cover their eyes with a delicate cloth or position the baby’s head in the opposite direction from the sun. Once finished, give breastmilk immediately to prevent dehydration. Then wait for a while before you bathe your little one using warm water. This is the right way to sunbathe your baby.
Happy parenting!.
