Parents Role in Child's Education at Home and School
Making sure your child gets the right education in the right form at the right time is the number one priority in the minds of parents. Knowing that your child can get started at preschool, then move over to kindergarten, primary and so on is one aspect. But as parents, your only job is not just to ensure that you pay the academic fees, make sure his tiffin is packed and send him wherever he needs to be. The early stages of development are what shape the very psyche of your child and it is necessary to be involved in the education process for your kid, in the right manner.
Importance of Parental Involvement in Childhood Education
The benefits of parent involvement in early childhood education may not be evident right off the bat or in a tangible way. The involvement plays a key role in encouraging the learning process to continue and make it better so as to cultivate an attitude of curiosity and open-mindedness throughout life.
The boundaries of education are widening and making sure you are in the loop of how your child is progressing and being a companion to him can bring about great results. A number of students have reported higher scores in their tests and other examinations when their parents were actively involved with their education. Such kids are known to show great interest in advanced and higher learning courses, end up graduating through college within the stipulated time and don’t drop out as much as other kids do. All of these tend to create a positive feedback for the behaviour of the child, moulding him into an individual with great social and leadership skills, better chances of adapting to changing environments, and develop the essential principles to lead life the right way.
How Do Parents Hinder Education of their Child?
The strength of parents influence on child education cannot be disregarded and is usually underestimated by many parents themselves. This is precisely why many parental behaviours end up hindering the education process than support it, without them realising it in the first place. Simple statements said casually could end up in your child’s head as powerful markers to govern their outlook. These usually revolve around:
Ignorance of any complaints or suggestions given by the school for the betterment or discipline of the child.
Being vocal about the school’s uselessness or education system being pointless in real-life applications.
Constant advice is thrown at the child without trying to understand the truth behind anything.
Mollycoddling the child by blaming the school or teachers or anybody else for his shortcomings and failures.
Agreeing with your child about any bad aspect about school without discussing different perspectives around it.
Permitting your child to skip school for unimportant reasons and being casual about it.
Constantly pointing out how the school or the teacher is wrong about education.
Criticizing about teaching methods in front of the child and making negative statements about it
Parents Role In Education of their Child at Home
Not every system is perfect. Our education systems today do have their own shortcomings and some parents might opt to go for homeschooling altogether. However, that isn’t a necessity or a possibility for everyone but certain steps can be taken to begin or complement the education by schooling at home. This does not mean assigning your child more homework, but it is more around helping your child come to terms with the education process and making him look forward to it.
Talk to your kid about how your school was and different memories associated with it. Avoid making it a preachy speech about how well you performed, but focus on the interesting factors.
In the initial stages, your child might need help with various school activities. Remember that the systems have changed since your time so it may not be as easy for him as it was for you. Help him out.
In case there are instances where the teacher or the school has made a mistake or taken a decision that doesn’t seem right, let your child know that teachers do take their time in realising who you are. They, too, might make mistakes and we can work around them together.
Have an open communication channel with the kid on a daily basis to know how his day in the school was. Don’t make it sound like an army reporting exercise where he has to list everything by the minute. The time when he comes back to school and freshens up and has snacks can serve as a great way to sit together and talk about different things that occurred. These discussions need not only revolve around studies. Let him talk about friends, any problems he faced, any arguments, and so on.
Establish a schedule of homework as soon as possible. Some kids are too exhausted after coming from school and prefer playing for a while before getting back to studies. Others prefer getting done with homework right away and then spend their time in other activities. Gauge what works for your child and help him stick to that schedule until it becomes second nature.
In today’s time, distractions are present in literally every corner no matter where you are. The school provides a focused environment where everyone studies and a teacher is present to help you out. Try to maintain a similar atmosphere in your home as well. Avoid doing homework on the dinner table or the hall where there are chances of the television or a computer being a distracting element. Let him have a dedicated space where he can work with concentration.
The right environment for studying is not simply about distractions. It is about ensuring mental and emotional peace as well. No child will be able to focus on his studies if the home is constantly filled with arguments, and fights, and bickering. Even though this might be happening in a different room, your child is highly perceptive of it and all these events unconsciously weigh down on his mind. Studying rarely becomes a priority then. Make sure you handle your home environment the right way.
How Can Parents Involve In Child's Education at School?
Knowing how important the role of parents in a child's education is, there are certain ways you can be involved in your kid’s education process and make sure he gets the best of it.
1. Choosing Appropriate School
Understand where your child’s interests belong and try to choose an appropriate school that can offer support for most of them or even facilitate them actively. Other factors such as distance from home and travelling time do play a key role as well, but since your child will be spending a major part of the day in school, these are much more important than anything.
2. Building Relationships
Don’t treat school as an institution where you simply send your child and he comes back home. Treat it as if it is an extended friends’ circle of sorts and get to know the various staff members of the school. Talk to your child’s class teacher on a regular basis and establish good relationships. Encourage your child to be open with the teacher as well.
3. Awareness Of School Events
Many parents are barely aware of any activities that the school has planned for the kids. Try to band together with parents of your child’s peers and form a chat group to keep each other in the loop. Any problems or issues can be nipped in the bud right away. Attend various events that the school organises even if your child may not be participating in them. Keep a track of your child’s progress using any tools that the school provides and feel free to schedule meetings with your child’s teacher or counsellor if you have any matters to bring up with them.
Other Ways Parents Can Be Involved In Their Child's Education
Apart from these, parents can help out their child’s outlook towards education in various different ways, too.
1. Active learning
Help your child understand that learning and education are not only restricted to school and homework. It is a lifelong habit that helps later in life, too.
2. Gamify learning
Don’t let learning be constantly in the form of textbooks and problems. Turn them into games or activities where your child can exercise his creativity, too.
3. Make learning a priority
When choosing between certain luxuries or fun activities and your child’s education, always put education and learning on the highest priority in his life.
4. Join your kid
If your child has trouble studying due to various distractions, try to schedule your own work with your child’s study time. This will create a study environment for everyone.
5. Choose excursions
Whether organised by the school or all the parents together, take your child on trips to science parks or museums that can help elevate his interest in education.
6. Allow for breaks
Your child’s life doesn’t constantly have to be about studying. Let your child enjoy other activities and sports without putting the pressure of studying on his head.
7. Reward good behaviour
Children require a lot of encouragement and validation at their age to help cultivate their moral compass and behaviour. Make sure you actively do so.
A parent's role in a child's education in modern life has undergone a substantial change from the early days. This is purely a result of the progress we have made as a species and it only goes to show that our next generation is going to be better than us. Help your child be a vital part of it by supporting him throughout.

Hairfal or hairloss is the worst nightmare for any lady.
During pregnancy our body goes through a lot of harmonal changes and this remains same after few months of delivery as well.
And hairloss is one of the biggest issue after delivery.
So first of all it is important to know the reason behind this. During the first few months of breastfeeding, as high level of estrogen (a hormone) levels decrease after delivery, and a lot of new mothers faces temporary hair loss. I find it almost after 3 months of delivery. And we can't do any special treatment for it, it will be normal in 2 or 3 months. I got very stressed with my hairloss as i can find my broken hair everywhere in the house. Then i asked the expert on firstcry app and they told me about all this.
So what I perspnally do is:
1. Changed my shampoo to a mild one.
2. Start oiling my hair twice a week for overnight. Avoid head madsage, just apply the oil and rub with your fingers gentally.
3. Stop going under any chemical treatment.
4. Stop heating my hair.
5. Tried onion mask range.
6. Took a short haircut, which made my hair look healthy.
7. Take proper diet.
8. Take your supplements or multivitamins. While no specific vitamins have been shown to affect hairloss but they are important for your overall health.
9. Stay stress free.
10. Take 7 hours of sleep.
Hope this will help you as well. Do not worry at all as this will be okay in 2 or 4 months. You will return to your normal hair growth cycle by 6 to 10 months postpartum. Till the time take care of your scalp and your hair. Worry less , stress less, sleep properly and eat properly...!! Read more

The Birth Story of My Daughter Tavishi - Born on August 13th 2018 in Bangalore
I hail from the City of Joy, I am recently named as Tavishi by my sweet bua, as I entered this world, at a mesmerising place named, 'Motherhood' hospital in Bangalore.
Let me begin and tell you the scenario before I came into the picture. Mumma and Papa shifted to Bangalore from Calcutta post marriage in 2017. Mumma had come to know about Dr Deepmala and kept following her on Google. She dreamt of delivering me in Bangalore. Mumma discussed all this with Papa that whenever I come into Mumma's womb, they will choose Dr Deepmala only as their doctor.
Moving forward to Nov 2017, when Mumma and Papa planned to conceive me and confirmed my presence with two pink lines on 20th December, Mumma straight away declared that she will go for my checkup only at 'Motherhood'. As always, Papa had to abide by my mother's wishes and for the 1st time, we three stepped into Motherhood called Srujana in e-city premises, when I was just 5-weeks-old.
Both were so happy to meet the doctor. She even let my parents see me on screen and said, "It is the size of a rajma now". I wondered when will I grow bigger. She even let them see my tiny heart beating. I could see mamma papa had tears in their eyes. Experienced the 1st family moment together. Thanks to the doctor.
Week by week, my size grew bigger from rajma to yummy fruits like pear, orange, melon, etc. Papa ensured that mumma ate healthy foods, as explained by Dr. Deepmala. Papa became an alarm clock for all the supplements prescribed to mumma by her. I found doctor aunty to be adorable. She explained my growth at all antenatal checkups with such clarity and detail. She also was the 1st one to let mumma papa hear my heartbeat.
Weeks passed by so quickly. I bothered mumma much with pregnancy symptoms like vomiting, nausea. I wanted her to feel me 24/7. Because of nausea and past history with mumma, I couldn't visit malls and see movies. I couldn't enjoy the bumpy rides in the cabs. Mumma started getting cramps in her left leg, so soon she joined in #PrenatalYoga in motherhood Sarjapur with an experienced yoga teacher. I felt so connected with mumma. She too felt refreshed and at peace. However, mumma struggled to join in, as she was a sleepy head and preferred sleeping in a day time (surely I have adapted the non stop sleeping habit from her only).
Both mumma and papa were so excited when my mother was 30 weeks pregnant. The countdown to last 10 weeks began. In mumma's life, it is always like - "sab smooth chalte chalte kuch na kuch gadbad zarur hoti hai". In this journey too, came the dramatic entry of a villain named "Pregnancy Indigestion". Dr Deepmala asked us to admit in hospital ASAP and suggested to get checked with a dietician. On the day of discharge, my mumma had labour pain in the early morning, as it is a common post-pregnancy symptom. As I was too young to be out in the world, Dr Deepmala came in the emergency and gave us benchmarks of 2 weeks each time. Steroid Injections and medicines were given to mature my lungs. If there were to be an emergency, then I would be taken out of mumma's womb through C-section. I could feel mumma's dream of natural birth being shattered.
I listened quietly as for the first time in these months, I saw mumma papa going weak. They didn't seem to be mentally prepared to face this. Mumma had dreamt of delivering me naturally on time. All that seemed to be blurry now. But she remained positive and with family's support and care, they went with the flow. Mumma climbed stairs - up and down -and walked a lot as preparation for labour. She even stopped her salt intake in foods. I heard mumma saying to papa - "our baby is a fighter and I know we both will sail through". I knew this was the time to show my strength. Every 10 days, Doppler scan was being done and mumma was becoming positive.
In the meantime, grandpa and grandma came to Bangalore and Dadi took care of our diet. She even joined us for walking and stairs up down on daily basis. However, mumma was suggested to do squats, as it is a good exercise to try for the natural birth, so she did the same at home with caution. I enjoyed seeing her doing squats. She always said to me - "beta, womb is the safest place on Earth, don't hurry up to come out soon". I remember, mumma received a message from the doctor in the middle of one day, that whether I was being monitored regularly, and that she should always be careful. We wondered how she gets time to follow up with her patients despite her busy schedule. It is only possible when she treats mothers as her family.
I was supporting Mumma and we crossed all benchmarks till 38 weeks. The doctor suggested her to go for induction when the 39th week starts. Mumma felt her body wasn't ready yet. However, we got admitted on the designated day, 13 August 2018, as the villain didn't seem to cooperate much. Mumma got induced at 7:30 am and I was preparing myself to meet her. My heart rate and her BP was being monitored at regular intervals. Contractions started on short intervals, at around 9 am. After so much pain, at around 3 pm, mom told the doctor to go for epidural injection for pain relief during labour so spinal saline was given to Mumma. Mumma felt no pain now, but after 4 hours, some tightening started and then contractions. Later at 7:00 is the time when I kicked hard the amniotic sac, and hence the water broke. I kept crawling down when Mumma was swaying on the birth bed with the help of supporting nurses and papa, and called doctor Deepmala. Finally, all could see my hairy head and mumma was breathing hard trying to push me out with the help of vacuum and with the last push I was in the hands of the doctor at 7:41 pm.
Everything happened so quickly. Papa was extremely happy and told mumma that it is a baby girl and mumma, on the other hand, was shouting with joy. I didn't know how to react so I cried out loudly (that's what I was supposed to do I guess). They later cut my cord.
Thanks to my grandparents who supported in the decision of mumma papa to get me delivered in bangalore. Normal deliveries are so rare nowadays, specially in my hometown, that it comes as a shock to most of the people who get to know about the same. I keep listening to grandma boasting to everyone about the Midwifery care model being so different in its approach, as compared to the hospitals' care.
On 10th September, I was now back to my hometown and we truly miss Motherhood, doctor, and its team.

A. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much and it is quite difficult to say anything about it without personally examination and proper reports evaluation. So better to consult with your treating gynaecologist in person as she knew the exact health condition of your pregnancy and can guide you better.
Take care

A. Absolutely hundred percent normal if the child changes the position then it’s just a matter of time otherwise I would just say that sometimes kids do not change the position throughout their pregnancy so now you should just be mentally sorted to have a C-section
