Microwave Tips and Hacks for Daily Use
The technology was built to make human lives easier and better. We should be out here making the most of all the technology available around us. Microwaves changed the game because of how quickly you could not only heat but also cook food in them. No longer do you have to pull out pans and light the stove and wait for it to heat up before heating your own food. Here are some quick microwave tips that might help you in your day-to-day lives.
Peeling garlic is easier because the moisture gets absorbed when you microwave for no more than 15 seconds.
Spread your food evenly around the plate so as to avoid heating only the top surface and not the insides.
Trim the onion ends and heat them for about 20 seconds and you will not have to cry anymore!
Wrapping in a paper towel and microwaving herbs like cilantro, curry leaves etc., in the microwave draws the moisture out of them and they can be stored for longer in the fridge. It is often the moisture that leads to their decay.
Reheat soggy potato chips, and they will magically become crunchy again!
Don’t fret if you forget to soak your beans at night. You can add them to a bowl of water, add a pinch of baking soda and microwave them for 10 minutes. Let the bowl cool for about 30 minutes, and they will be cooked!
If the honey in your jar has crystallized, it is easy to pop it in the microwave and heat it for a minute or so. It will be back to its shiny colour in no time.
Reheating cold leftovers from the fridge has never been so easy. Pop your food into the microwave for a couple of minutes, and you can have that slice of pizza as hot as it was when it arrived.
While it can be hard to find time to make entire meals these days, it is important that we try and eat home cooked meals in order to remain healthy. Be it an appetizer, main course or dessert dish, it is still a healthier and cheaper alternative than eating out or getting food home delivered. These recipes mentioned above barely take any time to whip up, and most of the ingredients mentioned can be found in your local supermarket. Microwaves are today’s unsung heroes. Make use of the microwave today and start cooking meals that your body deserves.

Heat Stroke in Babies
A baby can get sick due to numerous environmental reasons or internal body function problems. One key aspect of measuring health is monitoring the baby’s internal body temperature. Much like an adult’s body, if the temperature goes out of control your baby could have a heat stroke. In these circumstances, if you aren’t careful, your baby could suffer grave consequences. One of the first steps to combating this condition is understanding it.
What is Heat Stroke?
A human body has a regulated internal temperature, this keeps the blood flowing, organs healthy and helps keep you fit. Your baby’s body is still growing but it still has an automated system to keep the temperature in check and a system for cooling down. When this system is compromised, your baby is at risk of an unregulated rise in body temperature. This can be extremely dangerous and potentially fatal. When your baby’s body begins to overheat beyond their control and doesn’t cool down it is known as a heat stroke.
Causes of Heat Stroke in Infants
A key aspect of fighting a heat stroke is to understand the causes of a heat stroke, a few of these include
Dehydration
Extremely high external temperature
Malnutrition
Stuffy or suffocating clothing
Lack of oxygen in hot environments.
To learn more about the causes of your baby’s heat stroke visit your closest doctor.
Signs and Symptoms of Heat Stroke
Beyond understanding the causes of a heat stroke, it is also extremely important to understand how to identify if your baby is having a heat stroke. Here are some of the symptoms of baby overheating:
A fever that is above 103 degrees Fahrenheit in which your baby does not sweat is one of the signs of a heat stroke. In Celsius, this temperature would be above 39 degrees.
If your baby is extremely tired or fatigued for long periods of time in the summer months or after spending time in a hot room, they could be having a heat stroke.
If you suspect your child of having a heat stroke, ensure you check their pulse for one minute, if it is rapid then it could be a sign of a heat stroke.
If your child has skin that is burning hot and is red and dry, they could be symptoms of a heat stroke.
Dizziness or disorientation is a sign of a heat stroke, especially in hotter temperatures
It is important to understand that other symptoms could manifest in the forms of headaches, restlessness, vomiting or even your child losing consciousness. If these symptoms are relevant to your baby, please see a doctor immediately.
Treatment for Heat Exhaustion
It is highly recommended that you call an ambulance and have your baby checked at the nearest hospital in case of a serious heat stroke. Here are a few things you can do for minor heat strokes:
Dress your baby in loose clothing
Have them lay under a fan or indoors in a room with air conditioning
Pat down their forehead and shoulders with a cold wet cloth
Put them in an ice bath
For further information regarding treating minor heat strokes, contact your primary care physician.
Prevention of Heat Stroke in Babies
It can be extremely difficult to predict heat exhaustion in babies. Here are a few ways to avoid them:
Dress your baby in loose clothing
Keep them indoors if it is especially hot outside
Keep them hydrated
Ensure you expose your child to warmer or hotter weather gradually
Limit the time they spend outdoors during the peak of the afternoons
Sit with them in a room with fans and air conditioning
Avoid spicy foods during the hotter periods of the year
Heat strokes can be extremely dangerous if precautions aren’t taken. Talk to your doctor about the steps you need to take to avoid a heat stroke for your baby. Remember, prevention is the best cure.

5 qualities you learn as a parent while taking care of your kids
5 qualities you gain when you become a parent:
1. Understanding other person's emotions:
When you become a mom Or dad you learn to understand your baby's emotions and needs without him saying it to you. You try to feel what she feels, you count the hours of her feeding, sleeping, play and even the number of wet diapers your baby had. You keep a record of everything related to her like how many times she fell I'll, what she likes or dislikes, what suits her what not, what makes her happy or sad, people, places, food she loves or hates. You know everything about your baby because you try to, the same you should learn to do with all other people whom you list in your loved ones. May be your husband, parents, siblings, friends or family. People around you care about you and expect love and care in return. Caring is a way of showing love, and I have experienced that if we are giving love and care to other people, our kids are learning the same behavior from us and it will come back to us sooner or later.
2. Patience:
The thing every parent needs the most is patience. Whether it is the long journey of pregnancy or a never ending cycle of feeding, sleeping and diaper changing, patience is the key. Your babies teach you to be patient by giving you different challenges like teething, sleep training, potty training and so on. You can't handle any of these without patience, you have to wait for the time your baby learns to pee n poo by herself or finishes her full meal with you. This patience we need in our daily life with people in public places, in queues, in hospital s, grocery store or at neighborhood. We need to have some tolerance for all other humans living around us.
3.Planning:
Before I was a Mom I didn't know that Handling a toddler and a newborn at a grocery shopping may need a planning and preparation to be done without any mess, and now after facing that twice in public I realized that when you have kids you need to be a more responsible. These little creatures teach us how to plan and prepare before every single step. Doesn't matter if you are going to do your daily chores Or a lunch with friends it takes the same amount of Planning.
4. Value small things:
As sooner as we come to know about a baby coming to our lives we already start to find those little moments of joy and those small packs of happiness.. From that little good news strip and first ultrasound to each and every sound our baby makes, we enjoy so many tiny bunches of smile and love. This is a quality which can change our lives if we learn to find these little moments of happiness in all other matters and relationships our lives can be more more happy and content.
5 Accept the change:
They say "change is death" and it's true for it's so difficult to accept the change in life, whether it is to add someone or something or to lose something. It takes so much effort to carry on the same way with changed conditions and situations. But babies when enter our lives turn everything upside down and make us learn and adjust in that changed environment custom designed by them..
Parents help their kids to know the world and the ways to live better but somehow these little angels also help their parents to become mature enough to be called PARENTS...

Dirty Dishes and 5 Other Non-Fights With Hubby
Fighting over the TV remote once again, are you? Not so serious fights between husband and wife (read non-fights) regarding anything from washing dishes, dropping kids at school, to cleaning the washroom after a shower are no big deal and a total no-brainer! Just smile and let such fights pass.
As a couple, you're liable to fight over the most inane things once in awhile. While serious fights do leave you worried and make you question your relationship, there are other tiffs that rate as ‘non-fights’. Does your fight with hubby need damage control or just a funny nose twitch?
The 5 Non-Fights with your Partner you should Totally Ignore
1. When you end up arguing on the same lines
Misinterpretations often lead to baseless arguments that seem to carry on forever. If you happen to get involved in one, then look for signs that this fight is not a real fight with your husband. For instance, you're discussing why it’s essential to wait for the apt time to have a baby. This has somehow been misinterpreted as saying that you wouldn’t like to get pregnant ever. Somewhere, both you and your husband divert from the topic in hand, end up screaming yourself hoarse, and find yourself retiring in different corners. Take a step back, rewind the conversation and make amends by clarifying the intent.
2. Ego or mere stubbornness?
Marriage is all about two people living together with their egos safely kept on the back burner. However, confrontations may arise for simple things. The only reason why your man would hate doing as told is because you instructed him to do so. Then there'll be episodes of yelling and glasses breaking. Fights such as these lose out on their steam very soon so chill!
3. Understand how silly you may have sounded
The triggers for certain fights could be really small. From who changes the baby’s diapers to the electricity bill not being paid in time, a minor thing can create a big fight. You realize how dumb you may have sounded when you happen to see other couples having similar non-fights. Just try listening to yourself for once and make amends right away.
4. Either or one is high
This is, undoubtedly, one of the most common reasons behind not-so-serious fights. Either both or one of you have had a drink too many and have little or no clue about you’re talking about. Just never take these alcohol-induced fights seriously. All will be good once clarity reigns.
5. Prove yourself right
There are times when you're in the wrong but still want to stick to your point to keep your ego from getting hurt. Why should he have the last word, you know? But then, do you actually care about what you're mad about? Admit defeat and take a step back. It really is okay!
Most non-fights between a couple end as soon as they start and leave plenty of chuckles behind. The results can be wonderful (and often see you cosying in bed). Everyone agrees that makeup sex can be fabulous! Read more
