The 'Entrance Exam' of Motherhood - From Pregnancy to Delivery
Yes! This title fits so well for the story I am going to share with you all. The very first moment my husband and I got to know that we were pregnant, the first emotion I experienced was the feeling of nervousness. This was regarding many things on the list - How will our journey be? Will I be able to stay strong on this journey? Will my body support me? Will I be able to do it?
So, with all these thoughts and emotions, we got on board the beautiful journey which was leading me to experience motherhood. And like any would-be mom, I wanted my delivery to be a vaginal one! In the span of those 9 months, the only thing I realized was that if there is anyone else apart from your partner who can help in making your pregnancy better, it is the one and only gynaecologist - your doctor! You are lucky if you are in good hands. Fortunately, I was in good hands!
Finally, the day came when we went for my last routine checkup and by looking at my condition, my gynaecologist suggested inducing labour pain. Like any other first-time parents-to-be, we followed her instructions! On 7th December 2016, at 6 a.m., my husband and I left home for the last time as a couple, in the hope that when we enter our home next, we wouldn't be a family of two anymore!
My 'entrance exam' of motherhood started at 7 a.m. in the hospital. After a lot of hustle and a long time (which included three pessaries, epidural, and my water break), it continued until the 8th of December, till 4 p.m. I was in labour for 33hrs, after which my body started losing its strength and my uterus stopped responding after being 4 cm dilated. Then the doctor had no other option left but to conduct a C-section (we weren’t prepared for that), but I wanted to clear my entrance at any cost like any other would-be mom! My husband and I somehow convinced each other to go for it, and that’s how on 8th December, at 5.43 p.m., we brought our daughter into our life! This is not only my story of passing the 'motherhood entrance', but this can be yours too. I am sure many of the women here can relate to this.

4 Common Preschooler Behavioural Problems With Their Solutions
It's not easy to discipline preschoolers. However, it's important that the behavioral problems in 3-year-olds be corrected before they start school. Parents need to do this without losing their cool with the right dose of love, strictness and disciplinary actions.
You try your best to teach your kids the difference between right and wrong, good behaviour and bad behaviour. However, if you still see some behavioural problems in your preschooler, make sure you take quick action. After all, you don't want your little one to land in trouble at school.
Child Behaviour Problems and Solutions- Disciplining your Preschooler
1. Liar, Liar
This is one of the most common behaviour problems in children. However, most often they don't do this intentionally. The lying emanates from the fact that their imagination runs wild and they are just not aware of what's real and what's imaginary. This could also be blamed on all the pretend play games they engage in. So, every time your preschooler tells you something, find out if he really saw this happening. Explain to your little one that though imagining things is okay, this is not how real conversation works. Appreciate your kid when he speaks the truth. This will help the child to overcome the need to make things.
2. Who's the Whiny Baby
When preschoolers don't get their way, they often resort to whining and throwing a tantrum. They think that they can actually persuade their parents by doing so. As soon as you see any signs of this behavioural problem in your child, get prepared to deal this with a heavy hand. No matter, how tempted you are, make sure not to give in to the whining. If you do this once, the whining would become more of a pattern and your child might retain this behaviour for long. Soon, your child will understand that whining is not going to help and would give it up.
3. Defying the Rules
Several times your preschooler may refuse to do something you tell him to do. This behaviour emanates from the curiosity to gauge your reaction or to express his free will. It's important that one is strict yet loving when handling children with this behavioural problem. So, put down some rules and tell your child that you expect him to follow these rules. Give him a time out if he defies the rules but don't forget to applaud him when he adheres to them.
4. Baby Talking
Baby talk is cute. But, only when it comes from a baby. When it comes to a preschooler, baby talk can be quite annoying. A child mainly does this when he is nervous or is trying to gain attention. One of the best ways to discipline your child who resorts to baby talk is to find out why he does so. If he is doing this just to gain your attention, go ahead and listen to what the child has to say. On the other hand, if the child is nervous, instill more confidence in your child. Read more
