Are Kids More Prone to Cavities at a Certain Age? The Truth About Tooth Decay in Kids
You work so hard to take good care of your preschooler’s teeth, only to find that he has a cavity. It doesn’t seem to make sense, even though you give him fewer candies and sugary treats.

Knowing our kids’ teeth better will help us take care of them in the best way. Tooth decay in kids, particularly in the age group of 3-5 years is common given the physiology of milk teeth and the way eating habits evolve. Read below to know more about cavities.
What Causes Cavities in Kids
There are many factors that cause cavities in children. Let’s discuss some of the significant ones.
1. Milk Teeth Are More Prone to Cavities
As milk teeth have thinner enamel and are soft, cavities can form and advance rapidly through them. This makes milk teeth more prone to cavities. Also, did you know cavities in milk teeth increase the risk of cavities in adult teeth too? Hence it becomes essential to take greater care of them and invest in good quality products. So, it isn’t surprising that frequent consumption of sugary snacks and drinks increases the child’s risk of developing cavities. Also, sweets are not the only problematic foods. Any food items containing fermentable carbohydrates (that are broken down into sugars while still inside the mouth) can feed the cavity-causing bacteria. This means that along with sugary foods, processed, starchy foods like biscuits, chips, and white bread are bad for your child’s teeth.
4. The Frequency of Sugar Consumption
Gorging on sugary foods throughout the day is far worse for your child’s teeth than eating the same total quantity of sugary treats all at once, soon after a meal. And starchy and sugary foods that remain in your child’s mouth for a long time, like hard candies or toffee and raisins, are more harmful to your child’s teeth than foods that get cleared out of the mouth swiftly, like yogurt.
4. Brushing in an Incorrect Manner
As you know, poor dental hygiene habits in children increase the risk of developing cavities. Hence, it is very important to brush your child’s teeth twice a day. It is also important that you supervise the brushing and help your child brush in the right manner till you are confident that the child has learnt to brush well on their own.
How Can Cavities Be Prevented in Kids Between 3-5 Years of Age?
Here's how cavities can be prevented:
Start good dental habits early. Teach your child to brush his teeth at least twice daily with a kid-friendly toothpaste like the Colgate Kids Toothpaste & Toothbrush and to floss regularly.
Limit or avoid certain foods like sugary snacks, candies, and juices. If your child does eat these foods, have him rinse his mouth or brush his teeth after eating to get rid of the sugar.

ह्या आठवड्यात सोनोग्राफी बरोबरच तुम्हाला लघवी तपासून पाहायला सांगितली जाईल, त्यामुळे मधुमेह आणि इतर रोगांचे निदान होण्यास मदत होईल. ह्याव्यतिरिक्त हृदयाचे ठोके, परिपक्व होणारे अवयव तसेच प्रकाशाविषयीची संवेदनशीलता हे महत्वाचे बदल सुद्धा नमूद करता येतील.
आहार कसा असावा?
गर्भारपणाच्या १६ व्या आठवड्यात बाळाच्या काळजीव्यतिरिक तुम्हाला कुठला आहार घेतला पाहिजे ह्याची सुद्धा काळजी वाटेल. तुमच्यापैकी बरेच जण बरेच जण एखाद्या अन्नपदार्थांविषयी तिटकारा किंवा लालसा तसेच वसांविषयीची संवेदनशीलता ह्यामधून बाहेर पडले असले तरी काही जणींना अजूनही त्याचा त्रास होण्याची शक्यता असते. काय खावे याविषयीच्या सूचना खाली दिल्या आहेत. खाण्याच्या वेळा नियमित आहेत ह्याची खात्री करा त्यामुळे तुम्ही आणि तुमचे बाळ दोघेही उपाशी राहणार नाही.
थोडंसं चॉकलेट खाणे तुमच्यासाठी चांगले आहे परंतु तुम्ही फळे किंवा दही खाणे चांगले आहे त्यामुळे पचनक्रिया सुधारते आणि शरीराला आवश्यक पोषणमूल्ये मिळतात.
ज्यांना थोडे खारे अन्नपदार्थ खावेसे वाटतील त्यांच्या साठी स्ट्रिंग चीझ खाणे सर्वात चांगले आहे आणि ते कॅल्शिअम आणि प्रथिनांनी समृद्ध असते.

A few days ago, my 6-year-old daughter and I fell sick. We both had a severe cold and cough. With no one around, we knew that we both were each other's support. All of a sudden, my notorious munchkin was gone and an understanding girl was in front of me ready to help me, ready to take care of me. At first, I took paracetamol to make sure that if nothing, I can at least get up from the bed. Those 4 days were very tough for both of us, but I knew that someday this might happen. I took a few precautions. Here are the things I kept ready which I would like to share with you.
Maintain a diary. Keep your doctor's number on it so that your little one can call him/her.
Always keep the necessary medicines just next to your head and tell your little one which one to be given when required.
Buy a water dispenser and fill it with filtered water, keep it at a place where kids can reach easily. This way, kids can take water in need. Keep a couple of glasses and plates handy. Make sure that they are not made of glasses.
Keep the snacks and eateries on the shelf where the kids can reach and eat in case you are not able to get up and feed them.
Tell them to pick your calls.
Teach them to check from the cat's eye of the door if the bell rings and inform you. If you know the person, let them come and if don't then avoid answering the door.
Tell them whom to call during emergency.
These small things help a lot. We should not think that kids don't understand, they are matured and very understanding. Without my daughter's support, I would have not been able to manage her. She was ready with her medicines and reminded me to take mine. A couple of days we had to order food from outside, but she ate without uttering a single word. Moms, make your kids your best friend and see they will prove that they are matured irrespective of their age.

A. You can check with an ovulation kit if it is positive then you can certainly go ahead with the conception because ovulation kit is going to give you 100% clarity whether you are ovulating or not with that you can try practising if you can conceive the same time
