Thought of the Day and Quotes for Kids
As a parent, you might find yourself unable to motivate your child at the right time. This could be because the child does not listen to your words enough, or simply does not pay attention to what you’re saying. In such a situation, quotes and thoughts can come in handy for parents, so that they can try and pick their child up, instead of letting them feel down. Quotes have a profound effect on one’s psyche, even from a young age. The right quote has the capability to transform your mood completely, from a negative to positive one. In most cases, some small quotes are more than enough, to fill your child with positivity and confidence , even when he/she is under some stress. So note some of these quotes down and use them at the right time, in order to make your child feel better!
Thought of the Day for Children
Telling your child ‘A good thought of the day’ in the morning, every day, can ensure that he/she does not start the day on the wrong foot. It is also a proven motivating tool for kids. You can even put up a board in your child’s room, and change it every morning to reflect the mood and the thought for your child to think about during the day.
These good thoughts for kids have been arranged according to their subject, so that it is easy for parents to pick the right one, according to the situation.
Education
Education is the most important thing in the world and no child should remain uneducated. Therefore, choosing from the great educational thoughts for children, five of the best have been given below for parents to peruse. These great education quotes for kids are:
“When you know better, you do better.”- Maya Angelou
If you want to be more powerful in life, educate yourself. It’s that simple.
“When you talk, you are only repeating something you know. But if you listen, you may learn something new.” – Dalai Lama
“Learn as much as you can while you are young, since life becomes too busy later”- Dana Stewart Scott
“The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice.”- Brian Herbert
Cute and Funny
What is life without a bit of fun? If you choose to make every quote and thought for the day a serious one, you run the real risk of boring your child with all the seriousness. Some funny quotes for kids are necessary, in order to maintain the fine balance required, but they also have to reflect a moral underneath that gets them thinking. Keeping that in mind, let us look at some cute child quotes for parents to peruse.
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you’ll go!”- Dr Seuss
‘The more you give away the happier you become.’
"Worry is a misuse of the imagination." - Dan Zadra
“Logic will take you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.”- Albert Einstein
“Be yourself, for everybody else is already taken.”- Oscar Wilde
Inspiration and Motivation
Inspirational quotes for kids are an absolute necessity. You cannot expect your child to wake up every day raring to go and motivated at a high level. The right motivational quote can do what no amount of talking can do, especially if delivered at the right time. Here is a list of great motivational quotes for kids, so that parents have an easier job on their hands.
“I don’t love studying. I hate studying. I like learning. Learning is beautiful.” – Natalie Portman
“If you have good thoughts, they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.” – Roald Dahl
“Never give up on what you really want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than one with all the facts.” – Albert Einstein
“You’re braver than you believe and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” – Christopher Robin
“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing. The worst thing you can do is nothing.” – Theodore Roosevelt
Kindness
Kindness is one of the most important things that every parent must teach their child to have, since it plays a huge role in the future personality of the child. Some kindness quotes for kids are given below, which have the potential to imbibe some empathy and caring into young minds
Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.” – Desmond Tutu
“When I was young, I admired clever people. Now that I am old, I admire kind people.” – Abraham Joshua Heschel
“Three things in human life are important: The first is to be kind; the second is to be kind, and the third is to be kind.” – Henry James
“When you are kind to others, it not only changes you, it changes the world.” – Harold Kushner
“Life is mostly froth and bubble. Two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.” – Adam Lindsay Gordon
Life
Life can be overwhelming, exhilarating, and stunning at the same time, even for a child. Parents usually think that children have it easy, as they do not have to pay taxes or worry about where their next meal is going to come from. However, they have their problems too, even if they seem small to you. So, at times like these, quotes about life for kids can come in handy for a parent.
“Not only must we be good, but we must also be good for something.” – Henry David Thoreau
“Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That’s why we call it ‘The Present’.”- Eleanor Roosevelt
“May you live all the days of your life.” – Jonathan Swift
“The time is always right to do what is right.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.
“Why fit in when you were born to stand out?” – Dr Seuss
Love
Love is something hard to quantify, so it is harder for a parent to teach the emotion to your child. You might find that kids enjoy love quotes too, sometimes, so parents can use the ones written below, to give their child a dose of love.
“There is only one happiness in this life, to love and be loved.” – George Sand
“Love yourself. It is important to stay positive because beauty comes from the inside out.” – Jenn Proske
“Let us always meet each other with a smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.” – Mother Teresa
“The most important thing in the world is family and love.” – John Wooden
“Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye.” – H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
Leadership
Leadership is something that can be taught and developed, if parents start to instil leadership quality in their kids, from a young age. These leadership quotes for kids can affect your child in a great manner, and maybe mould him/her for the bright future they deserve.
“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way.” – John C. Maxwell
“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” – John Quincy Adams
“No man will make a great leader who wants to do it all himself or get all the credit for doing it.” – Andrew Carnegie
“I never thought in terms of being a leader. I thought very simply in terms of helping people.” – John Hume
‘A good leader inspires others with confidence in him; a great leader inspires them with confidence in themselves.’
Mother and Child
The bond between a child and her mother is something that is made out of pure love, and these mother and child quotes drive home that point.
“I hope you believe in yourself, as much as I believe in you.” – Mom
‘I didn’t give you the gift of life, life gave me the gift of you.’
‘Life is tough, darling, but so are you.’
‘Mother and daughter never truly part, maybe in distance, but never in heart.’
“Only mothers can think of the future – because they give birth to it in their children.” – Maxim Gorky
Positive
It is one of the most important duties of a mother to make her child feel positive, at least at the start of the day. Some of these positive thoughts for kids can have a huge impact on your child’s day.
“Nothing is particularly hard, if you break it down into small jobs.” – Henry Ford
“Mistakes are part of the dues one pays for a full life.” – Sophia Loren
“When you do the common things in life in an uncommon way, you will command the attention of the world.” – George Washington Carver
“You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have.” – Jim Rohn
“A positive attitude can really make dreams come true – it did for me.” – David Bailey
Ways to Incorporate These Quotes During Your Child’s Day
Kids tend to have short attention spans, so it becomes necessary to incorporate these quotes in a way that catches their attention and leaves its mark, before the little ones carry on with their day.
1. Each week, you can paste some quotes on a mirror or wall in colourful, decorative paper and cover them. Make your child uncover one quote each day and read it out loud. Since this involves a physical activity, children are likely to be interested for a longer time.
2. Use a reward system, where the child must use the quote during the day, and gets a reward in return. This way, you can also make sure he/she has understood what it means.
3. You can buy your kid a colourful diary and make him/her write down the quote each day. This also allows for some creativity and keeps children engaged in the activity.
A thought or quote for your child can really help = motivate him/her to face the rest of the day. This, way your child will begin learning to be positive and motivated from a young age.

Pregnancy and nutrition go hand in hand, and a mommy-to-be needs to monitor the food she consumes during pregnancy. What to eat and what not to eat may become a battle for you during pregnancy. Diet during pregnancy should be rich in vital nutrients such as iron, folic acid, protein, calcium, and iodine, and apricot is a fruit that is power-packed with these nutrients. Do you have apprehensions about adding this wonder fruit in your pregnancy diet? We shall discuss in detail about how to effectively add apricots in your pregnancy diet and get maximum benefits from them.
What Are Apricots?
Apricot is a fruit that belongs to the category of drupe fruits (which can be eaten raw as well as in dried form). This fruit is a good source of calcium, iron, potassium, phosphorus, and vitamin A, C, and E, and eating apricots during pregnancy is good for you and your baby.
Are Apricots Safe for Pregnant Women?
Yes, it is completely safe to eat apricots during pregnancy. Apricot belongs to the Rosaceae family (cherries, peaches, plums, almond, etc. also belong to this family), and this fruit could be added to your pregnancy diet for its immense health benefits. You can safely consume 1 to 2 kernels in a day. However, it is imperative to wash the fruit thoroughly (if eating in raw form), to get rid of harmful pesticides and chemicals.
Health Benefits of Having Apricots During Pregnancy
There are many health benefits of consuming apricots during pregnancy; some of which are as follows:
1. Helps With Constipation
Apricots are a rich source of fibre and thus eating them during pregnancy can help overcome constipation. They also help in improving digestion during pregnancy.
2. Helps in Treating Anaemia
Apricots are rich in iron and copper. These nutrients are very effective in increasing haemoglobin and thus help in preventing/treating anaemia during pregnancy.

4. Helps in Maintaining Blood Sugar Levels
Apricots are effective in keeping blood sugar levels under check. By controlling the blood glucose levels, you are less likely to suffer from gestational diabetes during pregnancy.
5. Good for Your Baby
Consuming apricots during pregnancy is also good for your baby. The presence of folic acid in apricots helps in the prevention of congenital disabilities such as spina bifida in newborn babies. Apricots are loaded with essential nutrients which are beneficial for foetal growth and development.
6. Good for Your Skin
Apricots can do wonders for your skin. Adding apricots to your pregnancy diet will be good for your skin and make your skin glow.
7. Helps in Lactation

Dried Apricots
Dried apricots also have immense health benefits. Here are some of the benefits of consuming apricots during pregnancy:
Dried apricots have high potassium content that can be effective in treating swelling experienced during pregnancy.
Dried apricots are a good source of natural sugar, glucose, and fructose. Consuming dried apricots helps in preventing pregnancy craving for sweets.
Dried apricots can be consumed during pregnancy to take care of your digestion issues.
Dried apricots are rich in calcium. Consuming them during pregnancy helps in foetal bone development.
Dried apricots are effective in dealing with heartburns experienced during pregnancy.
Risks and Side-Effects of Consuming Apricots While Pregnant
Taking a balanced diet is essential during pregnancy. It is crucial to consume everything in moderation. The same rule applies for apricots also. Though apricots have many health benefits for a pregnant woman and her baby, there are also risks or side effects that may arise after consuming apricots:
Consuming unripe apricots may cause discomfort and gastric problems in a pregnant woman.
Apricots may cause allergic reactions. Apricots contain sulphur dioxide, which may cause a reaction in women who are allergic to sulphites. Women who have sulphur sensitivity should be careful while eating apricots.
The tip of the apricot fruit contains amygdalin, a chemical which may upset your system. It is recommended to consume apricot after removing its tip to get the maximum benefits out of the fruit.
How to Eat Apricots During Pregnancy
While apricots can be eaten as fresh or dried fruit, there are many ways you can include this delicious fruit in your diet. If you are a fan of smoothies, soak some apricots and figs and blend them with milk and ice cubes to make a healthy smoothie―it will keep the hunger away. You can also add sliced apricots to breakfast bowls like porridge, oats, or cereal to start your day with a nutritious meal. Don’t forget to wash and de-seed the fruit before adding it to your food.
Points to Remember
It is good to eat apricot as a dry fruit during pregnancy; however, it is important to remember the following points before adding it to your pregnancy diet:
It is recommended that you eat apricot along with your breakfast, or as a mid-morning or evening snack to get the best benefit.
It is best to eat apricot in its dried form or ripened form. Unripe apricots can cause severe discomfort and gastric problems during pregnancy.
It is recommended that you eat apricots in moderation (2-3pcs/day) as over consumption may prove to be harmful during pregnancy.
Talk to your doctor before adding apricots to your diet, to know if you are sulphur allergic.
Apricots have many health benefits, and it is safe to eat this fruit during your pregnancy. However, one must exercise caution and not go overboard in consuming apricots during pregnancy. If you experience uneasiness or other symptoms after consuming apricots, it is suggested that you seek medical help. You are recommended to get in touch with your doctor or dietician before you add or remove any food from your pregnancy diet.

10 Essentials for Your Toddler
If you are a parent to a toddler, then you must be used to your little one's tantrums and tears. Most mothers dread even a day out or a walk in the park because they feel that they will have to carry their entire house with them, just in case. But no moms, you don't have to carry your entire house when going out with your babies. We will provide you with a list of things that you should keep handy when you have a toddler at home.
10 Essentials for Your Toddler
Here is what you should arm yourself with so that you can manage your toddler without panicking:
1. Diaper Bag Essentials
If you haven’t begun potty training your child yet then a diaper bag is a must-have. A simple changing mat, wet wipes, and a change of clothes should always be there in the diaper bag. Wet wipes can do a lot more than helping you wipe your baby’s bottoms. They are great to wipe off the dirt, grime, paint, chocolate, and any other thing that your munchkin has managed to cover himself with. You should also keep diaper rash cream, baby powder, hand sanitiser, etc. in the diaper bag.
2. A Sippy Cup
It is essential to have a good cup that your baby can drink water from. Preferably get one of those sturdy sippy cups with a spout rather than a straw. A cup with handles will allow your baby to hold the cup by himself. Keep reminding your little one to drink more water and stay hydrated while he plays.
3. Baby Blanket
A baby or toddler needs a soft blanket to sleep peacefully. If the blanket is too light, it could make him cold. If it is too heavy, your baby could get smothered by the heat. So, pick a cosy and pretty blanket that your child grows to adore. You could get him a cuddle lovey with the blanket which may bring a sense of security to your little one when he sleeps.
4. A Magna Doodle Board
A Magna doodle board will keep your toddler busy and it is one of the essentials for a child's playroom. It will keep him occupied and learn as well. Not only is it a great addition to toddler's playroom but you can also carry it around for your toddler when you are out for the day with him. It will keep him busy while you get your work done.
5. Clothes
While buying clothes for your little one, think about his comfort. Buy soft cotton pyjamas that are not footed so that your toddler will have a good grip while walking. Some children get attached to a particular t-shirt or a legging. Try to buy a similar t-shirt which is a prized possession for your child. Your toddler's wardrobe will be incomplete if you don't buy some cosy socks, hats, and jackets for him.
6. A Play Table
To buy a play table for your toddler, keep in mind your child's height. If your toddler is able to reach the table, he will enjoy playing with blocks or puzzle set on it. A play table is important for a growing child. So, buy one soon.
7. Crocs
For all utilitarian reasons, a pair of Crocs sandals is a must-have for a 1-year-old and a toddler. These sandals can easily be worn and can be cleaned easily too. They are hardy and can withstand the zealous activity that a toddler’s life usually involves, and they are super comfortable. What’s more, is that they come in such vibrant colours. Your baby will love wearing them for sure.
8. Toys
There are certain must-have toys for 2-year-olds. These toys include blocks, toy cars, beach toys, play-doh etc. Your child will definitely love most of these and will stay occupied for a good chunk of time. Avoid buying the small plastic toys for your toddler as they pose a choking hazard. Stick to the toys that spark creativity in your toddler.
9. A Stroller
Strollers are travel essentials that every parent of a toddler must invest in. Your little one will get tired if you make him walk for long, and it can be difficult for you to carry your baby's diaper bag and him at the same time. Buying a stroller for your little one can help so much even if you just have to do your shopping at a supermarket or are going out to catch up with some friends for lunch. Ideally, if you can find a stroller with swivel wheels, that can fold into a compact carry-around, then you are all set.
10. Baby Bath Toys
Most mommies have faced the nightmare called bath time. Some children love a warm bath while others are terrified of water and hate taking a bath. Having some fun bath alphabets or colour changing bath tablets can entice your little one into the baby-tub to have a bath. Once he gets into a bathtub, he might refuse to come out of if he likes his bath toys.
There may be several other essentials that moms cannot do without. Some children are very particular about their baby-cutlery, while others about their favourite soft toy. You know your baby well, and that will help you compile your own list of essentials for your toddler. What is important to remember is that even if you do miss out on some essentials, it's okay. Stay calm and have happy moments with your toddler.

Contribution – First birthday gift for my baby, my little bundle of joy.
Time flies. How the 12 months have passed, we seriously dont realize. It feels like it was just a couple of months ago our baby came into our lives. But now, as its his birthday month, so every parents want to give the best and memorable gift to their kid. A gift which will make him learn the value of gifts. A gift which will make him realize thay how lovable he is for us.
As my baby’s birthday is arriving, so like every mother I am very confused about the selection of gifts for him. I thought of everything, a toy, some gold ornaments, a battery operated ride, a tent house or all that stuff.
But then a wonderful idea came into my mind. A quilt. Yes, a quilt from all his old clothes. I collected all his old clothes and make it filled with warm material. Moreover I give it a beautiful border with extra cloth so that it can look more attractive. We can keep this memory forever with us. Moreover every time we will see that quilt, it will remind us all the memories of his childhood journey.
Another gift I am planning for him is an album of all his photos from the very first day he was born. With this, we can keep all the pictures safe as well. As in today’s busy life, we only create or save memories on mobiles or laptops. We forgot to create those tiny albums like our parents did.
These two gifts will make him learn the true value of gifts when he will be matured enough to understand. We try to do our best for our kids. And as it is his first birthday so definitely i will try my best to make it more special. It gives eternal happiness to plan anythi g for my little munchkin.

4 Fashion Tricks to Flatter Your Curvy Body!
Style is an ever-evolving process. The glamorous fashion world that once embraced size zero is now shifting its focus to sexy, curvy women. Moms and moms-to-be, it's time to rediscover style and find out how to dress your curvy body. Learn the art of picking clothes for your body type and wearing them with confidence.
Beauty and grace personify a woman. But for mothers, busy caring for their families and trying to juggle work in between everything, there's hardly time to nurture appearance.
But if you want to enhance the way you dress and feel about yourself, making time for it is imperative. If you're blessed with generous hips and bust, the right outfits for your curvy figure can look terrific. Here's how you can make the best selections for your closet.
4 Fashion Tricks to Flatter your Curvy Body
1. Bulky layers are a big no-no
Curvy fashion follows the 'KISS'—keep it small and simple—law. But first-time and nursing moms, conscious of their generous middles and ample busts, tend to hide themselves under baggy sweaters and oversized jackets with plenty of details. The truth is, such clothes do nothing to hide muffin tops and larger hips but only add to them. What you should do is choose clothes for curvy women with simple cuts that fit your figure perfectly. Long cardigans, jackets that create the illusion of a smaller waist, and elegant stoles to wrap around the shoulders can alter your look dramatically. If you can’t find ready-made clothes to your satisfaction, opt for tailored clothes that fit like a glove.

2. Feel good inside to glow outside
Even the best clothes for curvy figures will look pale and dull if you are not confident about wearing them! and one of the best ways to feel good about yourself is by picking good lingerie. Perfectly-fitting lingerie for curvy women solves half the problem of looking great. Nearly 90 percent of women wear the wrong size bra, making them feel uncomfortable and look awkward. If you're still nursing your baby, you need to choose a bra with wider straps, a thick underband and proper padding. Before going shopping for curvy figure dresses, visit a lingerie store and if there are bra fitters there, ask them to measure your bra size including the cup size. Shelling out a couple of extra hundred rupees on a good bra that highlights your best features and plays down the rest is extremely important. It'll give a definite shape to your body and make you look trimmer. Include shapewear in your collection of lingerie too for those romantic nights when you and hubby want to go out for a fancy dinner. It can make form-fitting gowns look stunning!

3. Crop tops and halter necks can look great
Many glossy fashion magazines would have curvy moms believe that they can't pull off halter necks and cropped tops. This couldn't be far from the truth. While baring too much of your midriff and trying to squeeze into a tiny halter top is not the answer, the right style can complement your curvy figure. If you're going for halter tops or dresses for curvy women, choose those with broader straps and necklines that dip low to show some cleavage. If it's cropped tops that have caught your eye, get one with a boxy cut and a slightly longer length. You can wear it with a high-waist pencil skirt or a pair of high-waist trousers.

4. Be clever about colour, fabric, and print
Flattering dresses for curvy figures need to be picked with care, giving due consideration to every aspect of clothing. Curvy moms and moms-to-be can get a trimmer silhouette by picking colour, fabric, and prints carefully. You can choose clothes with almost any print, even floral patterns, as long as the print is small. Dark colours like black, navy, grey, and plum are ideal for trousers to wear at work. For parties, a knee-length LBD with a round neck or a V-neck is the best type of dress for a curvy body. It'll give the illusion of height and will shave off inches along your thighs. Fabrics like satin, georgette, and chiffon will skim your curves without clinging too closely.

If you've ever wondered how curvy celebs like Sonakshi Sinha and Parineeti Chopra look stunning when the shutterbugs follow them non-stop, you now know it's all about clever dressing. Dresses for curvy figures need not necessarily be unflattering. These fashion tips for curvy women will get you eager to show off your style to your proud hubby and children. Love your curves, dress for them and get ready to embark on a new fashion journey with full confidence. Read more
