8 Things You Should Avoid Doing When Wearing a Saree During Pregnancy
Nothing brings out the elegant side of you as well as a saree does, and pregnancy should never stop you from adoring that garment. Simply avoid a few mistakes and you are absolutely good to go!
Those 6 yards of elegance are simply incomparable. No other dress you wear can be quite as charming, right? However, come pregnancy and many women become wary of putting a saree on due to various reasons, the major one being showing of the baby bump. The garment can make you look larger than you already are and can cause you to expose your belly, which many are not comfortable with.
However, such concerns should not let your enthusiasm die! In case you have any wedding functions or a traditional ritual coming up, choosing a saree should definitely be on your list. Just avoid these 8 mistakes and you will look nothing less than a diva!
Things to Avoid while Wearing a Saree during pregnancy
1. Not Using a Belly Band
Many women are not particularly comfortable with showing off the baby bump much. However, wearing a saree without a belly band simply aggravates the problem. Also, choosing a belly band that matches with your saree colour (or comes close to it) is very important or else it will clearly stand out. Once the belt is placed, you could wrap a fabric around your belly before draping your saree and your problem will mostly be solved.
2. Choosing The Wrong Draping Style
One wonderful part of being pregnant and wearing a saree is that you could ditch the usual way and experiment with your draping style. The major concern area for women is mostly the stomach, and draping is the most common step where women make mistakes. A good way to avoid showing the baby bump would be to adopt a style of draping that starts above the bump instead of below. Ensure the pleats fall well. You could also experiment with the 'Gujarati style' of saree draping.

3. Heavy Embroidery Is A Big No No
No matter how much you love the bling, it isn't a good idea to wear too much of it when you are planning to wear a saree during pregnancy. Not only do they add to the weight of the fabric, they can also make you look larger. Instead, opt for small prints and motifs like florals, as they work the best at this time.
4. Wearing Broad Border Sarees
Broad borders flatter and accentuate curves and therefore will highlight the extra weight you put on when pregnant. Sarees with thin borders or no borders give you a taller and a leaner appearance and therefore you will be more comfortable wearing them. When selecting sarees for pregnant ladies, pay very close attention to this aspect.
5. Opting For Traditional Blouse Patterns
The length and pattern of your blouse is as crucial as the entire saree. Traditional blouse length and patterns may not flatter your pregnancy body well, and could also be slightly uncomfortable. Therefore, go for long sleeved blouses and experiment with patterns. You could also try a 'choli' style blouse that will cover you up to the midriff, ensuring sufficient length to cover your tummy. Make sure the blouse isn't too tight on your stomach and waist, especially while sitting, to avoid discomfort. Check out Carol's fashionable but comfortable blouse - loose sleeves, well-covered and uber stylish!

6. Not Paying Attention To The Saree Colour
It isn't just about what colour suits your complexion anymore. Lighter coloured fabrics reflect light more, therefore highlighting all parts of your body including the ones you would want to ideally hide! Therefore, choose darker colours that will help you in hiding the concerned areas.
7. Doing The Traditional Pleating
A very common mistake that many women make during pregnancy is that they wear the saree just how they would normally wear it, making the multiple pleating. However, that is the practice you should definitely avoid. While you are making the pleats, follow the right saree draping tips: Refrain from making small ruffled pleats. Instead, make them at least 3 cm wide and keep it together with the whole drape, before bringing the pallu to the front. This will help in covering half the belly.
8. Wearing Heavy Fabrics
Picking the right fabric is definitely an area you must pay attention to. If you are in your third trimester, wearing a saree could feel extremely heavy and uncomfortable. To avoid this, opt for lighter fabrics like chiffon and georgette as these will let you breathe easily and are quite manageable. Besides, these fabrics are not too stiff, and hence will be easier to carry if you are going to wear them for a longer duration.
The trick to donning the perfect saree lies in avoiding these mistakes. Just follow these tricks and you would be good to go!!! Read more

17 Foods You Should Avoid When You Are Trying to Lose Weight
Here's a simple truth - it is hard to lose weight. People who are on a weight loss diet, we know your struggle is real and we are with you. You must be exercising daily and eating healthy foods to shed those extra kilos but the results (even after months) may not be convincing enough. What you eat affects your weight. If pizza, fries, samosas, sugary drinks, and all things delicious tempt you and we give into your temptations just like that often, then you know what's stopping you from achieving your weight loss goals. But if you want to lose weight, there are certain foods that you should completely avoid.
Foods That You Should Not Eat While Trying to Lose Weight
Here is a list of foods that you should avoid or try to eat in moderation when trying to lose weight. A few of them can help you with weight loss (but only if you eat them in moderation). Eating them in excess amounts can lead to weight gain. Find out which foods you should strictly avoid and which you can eat in moderation.
1. Deep-fried Foods
If every now and then you eat deep-fried foods like samosas, bhajiya, or puri, then losing weight will be even harder for you. No doubt, samosas and moong bhajiya taste delicious, but they won't do any good to your body. These foods are high in calories hence may prevent you from losing weight. So avoid these popular Indian foods when trying to weight loss.
2. Dates
Dates are a popular snack and we love to eat them because of their naturally sweet taste but they may not be all good for your health. When these fruits are dried, they lose their water content and sometimes sugar is added to them to enhance the taste, which increases their calories. Dates also have the highest sugar content, hence are best avoided. But if you get sweet cravings, you can eat them in moderation.
3. Refined Flour
Foods made with refined flour are usually high in calories and carbohydrates, and very low in protein, fibre, and other essential nutrients. These foods won't do any good to your body. That being said, you should avoid anything made from refined flour. Avoid eating white bread, cakes, pastries, pasta.
4. Low-Fat Foods
If you think eating low-fat foods can help you lose weight then you may be wrong. While removing fats from low-fat foods, the flavour also gets lost, leaving you with a pretty tasteless product. To make up for the loss of flavour, a lot of extra sugar is added and hence you may not lose weight. So, say no to low-fat foods.
5. Potatoes
We all love to eat potatoes but the starch present in them can interfere with your weight loss goals. If you can't live without eating potatoes, eat them boiled and not go for the fried potato treats. Also, keep in mind that consuming them in moderation is perhaps the best way to go. So try to reduce it to a few times a week.
6. Processed Foods
While processed food is convenient and you can enjoy anytime, they won't do any good to your health. Processed foods contain preservatives and sodium which can interfere with your weight loss goals. Hence, it's best you avoid them.
7. Watermelons
When it comes to fruits, watermelons are delicious and one of the best fruits to eat on hot summer days. Watermelons are high in water content but they are also high in sugar. You can eat watermelon in moderation but if you eat in excess you may not lose weight. Moderation is the key and the fruit can easily be substituted with oranges for a refreshing treat.
8. Fruit Juices
Another seemingly healthy food or drink may not actually help you lose weight. While drinking fresh fruit juice may help, drinking juice out of a carton won't help. Packed fruit juices contain fructose that makes them sweet. It's just empty calories. So avoid drinking fruit juices. You can eat whole fruits instead.
9. High-Calorie Coffee Beverages
Drinking plain, black coffee may boost your metabolism and burn fat, but if you add flavours, sugar, and creamers, its benefits are lost.
10. Ice cream
Saying no to ice creams on hot summer days would be really hard, but you have to give them up if you want to lose weight. Ice cream is high in calories and is laden with sugar, so avoid eating it.
11. Alcohol
Alcoholic beverages are high in calories and sugar. Drinking alcohol won't do any good to your body and you will just consume empty calories. Also, when you drink alcohol, you will eat more because overconsumption of alcohol often makes food taste very delicious. Drinking beer can lead to weight gain.
12. Halwa
Whether it's gajar ka halwa or aate ka halwa - you should avoid them. No doubt, halwa taste delicious but a bowl of goodness contains a lot of calories and sugar which can prevent you from losing weight. Be very careful about how much you eat. It is best avoided while you are trying to lose weight.
13. Candy Bars
Hard to resist when they are arrayed so beautifully in shops, but resist them if you want to lose weight. These innocent looking bars contain sugar and are high in calories and are a big no while on a weight loss diet.
14. Sugary Drinks
It doesn’t matter if it is a diet coke or an iced tea, any drink that has added sugars should be given a miss. Drinking water to quench your thirst is the best way for you to make sure that you are not unintentionally adding numerous extra calories into your diet.
15. Soybean Oil
Soybean oil can be very bad for your health. If this oil is a part of your regular diet, it can lead to weight gain. If you are currently using soybean oil, replace it with virgin olive oil or coconut oil as these are healthier options and provide you with healthy fats.
16. Chewing Gum
No, you don’t really consume a piece of gum, but you do end up ingesting the flavouring that it is loaded with. Chewing gum contains sugars and even sugar alcohol, which instead of helping curb your sugar cravings, may worsen them.
17. Granola Bars
They may be full of fibre, but they are also full of added sugars that are bad for your health. Eating granola bars may not help you lose weight. Some types of granola bars even contain more sugar in them than regular candy bars, so do not be fooled into thinking they are a healthier alternative.
Losing weight is not easy, but if you are determined, you will be able to drop the extra weight in no time. Avoid the foods listed above, and you will achieve your weight loss goals faster!

Wow! 11 Amazing Facts We Bet You Didn't Know About Mother's Day Celebrations!
Mum, ma, mumma, aai, mummy.... the names are many but the feeling is most definitely one. Love! Mothers are the backbone to a child's life and that is why every year we celebrate them on Mother's Day... for the important and irreplaceable role they play in our lives.
Mother's Day, celebrated on the second Sunday in May, is one day in the year that corporates, families and stores go all out to honour mothers everywhere. To some of us, it may seem like a marketing stunt - after all, mothers should definitely be celebrated every single day, right? True. But in the chaos of daily life, rarely do we get the time to say thank you to our moms, or take time out to pat ourselves on the back for the role we play as moms. If one special day lets us do both, and so wonderfully, we think it is a spectacular occasion to celebrate!
But did you know there is an interesting history behind Mother's Day as we know it? Let's find out some fun facts about this day that led us to where we are today. Some of these facts are just downright amazing!
1. The Oldest Mother's Day
The very first Mother’s Day was said to have been celebrated in 1908! Anna Jarvis from the U.S. decided to honour her mother with a memorial. She was also known to have started a committee in 1868 called “Mother's Friendship Day” to reunite families post the Civil War. It was in 1914 that Mother’s Day became a recognized holiday in the United States of America.
2. Time To Call Mom
Approximately 122 million calls are made to mothers on Mother’s Day in the United States alone! That’s a lot of caring children and happy moms, how nice!
3. M For Mother
In most countries and languages the word mother begins with M. Maa in Hindi, Maman in French, Mother in English, Madre in Spanish... just at the top of our heads. Isn't that beautiful?
4. Best Flower To Gift Mom
The most common flower given on Mother's Day is a carnation. Red and pink carnations for mothers who are alive and white for ones who have passed away.
5. Trick Or Treat?
No, we haven't confused Mother's Day with Halloween! There was a time when in Yugoslavia, children used to tie up their mothers on Mother's Day. In order to be freed, she had to feed them with treats! Ouch!
6. The Gift All Moms Want
According to a poll, a spa visit is the number 1 gift all moms would like on Mother's Day. There, we just saved you tons of thinking time and browsing for gift ideas on Google! If you are looking for something extra creative, we recommend you take a look at these unique Mother's Day gift ideas.
7. And The Gift No Mom Wants
Also, according to the same poll, the least favourite is appliances! So, let's stay away from those hair dryers, blenders and juicers this Mother's Day!
8. What's In a Name?
Mother's Day has tons of different names in different parts of the word. Mothering Sunday for one. Some of the others are Refreshment Sunday, Rose Sunday and our favourite one, Pudding Pie Sunday!
9. Moms Are Priceless
We know the value of our mom is priceless. But just for some perspective - consumers of the United States spend a whopping 168.94 million on Mother’s Day!
10. Moms Like These Gifts Too
While cards and flowers are most popular on Mother's Day, here are some other gifts that are popular too:
Dinner
Gift Cards
Home Decor/Kitchenware
Clothes and Jewellery
Books/CD's
11. Whopping Market Value
We saved this for the last: ever wondered what a mom would get paid if motherhood was a job, like an office job? We know that the job of a mother is a 24/7 commitment. It has no set work hours, no 'free' or 'off days', and the challenges never end. But if we had to put a value to the job of a mother, popular studies rate it at $65,284! Woohoo! But honestly, we know she is worth much, much more. Her legacy will go on for generations to come whether it's her yummy recipes or her mannerisms which we unknowingly adopt.
This year on May 14, when you shower your mom with love, gifts and time, also tell her these amazing facts to make her feel every bit worth it! Happy Mother's Day! Read more

Let These 5 Household Items Organise your Life
Being organised is an essential part of being a mom and you try to do it brilliantly. However, keeping your kids and hubby's belongings in order can sometimes get so taxing that lost ties or misplaced T-shirts become commonplace. Well, all you need is some of the best home organisation products!
Moms have a lot on their shoulders - and minds! It's natural to get worked up when the house gets messy and you proceed to spend frantic minutes searching for the lost item. Why not let these household items help you keep your home organised? No more fretting!
5 Household Items that Help you Stay Organised
1. Storage inside drawers
A storage unit inside another storage unit? Now that is genius! If your lipstick and eyeliner have a habit of getting misplaced (some of them do!), just add a makeup organiser in an empty drawer in your bedroom. This idea can be replicated for your jewellery and in the bathroom too. Why not place a storage unit inside a drawer for your hair dryers? It'll also save your electronic gadgets from getting wet.
2. Bedroom pegboard
You probably use pegboards in the kitchen to hang pots and pans. But the great part is that they can easily be modified for use in other rooms too! If you keep losing your bedside book or night-cream, just place a pegboard on the wall above your head. Use it to stack items you need every night and also put up some picture frames. This is a creative storage idea that makes your bedroom look so much cooler!
3. Kitchen organiser
If you have naughty kids at home, organising your knife collection is of prime importance. You need to keep knives safely in the kitchen so you can find them easily. While your first thought might be to get a knife block, try a magnetic knife strip instead. This is better suited to help you choose the knife you need to cut meat or vegetables. Plus, since knives are linearly displayed, no more fear of a stray knife where the kids can find it!
4. Steel shelf
A steel shelving unit is a great idea for the kitchen or bathroom. If you have less space, don't let that stop you from getting the appliances you need. Just put up a steel shelf to keep your space organised and stylish. You can designate each shelf to store something specific. This unit can also be customised to a height that works best for your home.
5. Key box
Keys are probably the most easily lost household item! Get a key box to save you the trouble of having to worry about misplacing them. Assign a designated place where you can keep the catchall. Make it a point to tell hubby and the kids that is where they must keep all their keys as you don't want to waste time hunting! This is really the best home organisation product for busy households.
Let these organisation tools for a home make life easier and get the household disciplined. When you know where to look for certain items, they become infinitely easier to find. Anyhow, with these home organising products, chances are you will not have to go about on a wild goose chase at all! Read more

A. Nasal blockage is very common, specially in small children because of the narrow nasal cavity. Any kind of saline drops like nasal clear will be helpful in dissolving the stuffy secretions, which can be taken out by vnasal aspirator gently also steam inhalation will be helpful also, try to avoid keeping the child directly under the fan.

A. A lot of times normal delivery is actually seen in these cases also if the doctor is quick and the child cooperate then yes normal delivery is very much possible but some doctors don’t take a chance with the health of your child and so they normally suggest C-section so let’s see what’s your situation by the end when you are into your labour
