What Does The Kundali Reveal About Your and Your Husband's Married Life? Find Out...
Marriage – perhaps one of the most important alliances you will form in your life. It's but natural for men and women alike to give marriage a lot of thought – you are about to make a decision that will affect the rest of your life. Being the tough call that it is to take, marriage makes us seek all the guidance and advice we can get – how to do it right, how not to mess it up, what pitfalls should be avoided. People turn to scores of things – marriage counselors, psychologists, family and relatives, friends... we all seek answers to our questions in whatever form they may come to us. And probably the biggest question that we all want an answer to is – how will I know he/she is THE ONE? Do the stars have the answer?
Astrology – The Story of Your Stars
When the stars exploded billions of years ago, they formed everything that is the world... so don't forget, you are stardust! - Before Sunrise
Indians have been one of the first few people who understood that all those twinkling lights up in the skies meant something. Astrology can be defined as divination on the basis of movement of celestial bodies, particularly those in our solar system. Astrology can give you insights into the future of things, even marriage – which is why many marriage alliances in India are formed on the basis of the kundali.
Here are The Basics of a Kundali:
The kundali has 12 ghar (houses) – 1 through 12 or A through L
Each of the ghar are home to different graha (planets) and nakshatra (constellations)
There are total 27 nakshatra, equally divided among the 12 rashis (enlisted below)
Each nakshatra in turn has 4 charan
The relative position of all these elements – graha, nakshatra, and charan of the nakshatra – and those in someone else's kundali, are what decide whether a particular alliance would be good, neutral, or difficult.
Name of Rashi (Moon Sign)

Karka
Cancer
Sinha

Kanya

Tula

Unlike the English 'sun-signs', our rashis are not decided simply by our birthdates. Rashi are plotted taking into consideration the birthdate, birth-time, and the alignment of celestial bodies at the exact moment at which the child was born. This is why many people believe Hindu astrology is more accurate than English astrology.
The Best and Worst Compatibility Matches
As a thumb-rule it is believed that: the fifth, seventh and ninth rashi from your own rashi makes for a good life-partner. For example, if your rashi is Makar, then Mithun, Sinha and Tula would make good life-partners for you. Most kundali compatible marriages work out in this way – people typically tend to get married to a person of the rashi that's fifth from their own. However, this is only a very basic guideline. If you study the entire kundali, the reading might be quite different!
Here are some of the best and worst kundali matches for marriages
NOTE: This is only a guideline. Depending on the particular ideology followed by the pandit-ji you consult, the school of thought he or she follows, the reading of the kundalis may vary.
Matches Made in Heaven
While the factors that decide whether a particular matrimonial alliance will be good or bad are plenty, and while each individual kundali will tell different stories, here are some of the astrologically 'strong' alliances:
Mesh – Sinha
Tula – Meen
Vrushabh – Kanya
Vrushchik – Meen
Mithun – Kumbha
Dhanu – Mesh
Karka – Vrushchik
Makar – Vrushabh
Sinha – Dhanu
Kumbha – Mithun
Kanya – Makar
Meen – Karka
Matches That Are Not As Astrologically Perfect
There could be tonnes of things that could make an alliance weak or bad – the yog may not be good, the nadis, or guna may not be compatible, and then there is the all-dreaded mangal (but more on that later). In general, however, following alliances should be avoided:
Mesh – Mesh, Kanya
Tula – Meen
Vrushabh – Vrushabh, Dhanu
Vrushchik – Mithun
Mithun – Mithun, Vrushchik
Dhanu – Vrushabh
Karka – Karka, Kumbha
Makar – Sinha
Sinha – Makar
Kumbha – Karka
Kanya – Mesh
Meen – Tula
Same Same or Different – Which is Better?
We all must have had this kind of experience at some point in life – where you met a person who just got you so well, you finally felt 'understood', completely, for once in life. On the other hand you might have been the rubber to someone else's glue at some point too – meaning you were so dissimilar that you couldn't relate even to the idea of such a person existing in the world.
When it comes to marriage, it is obvious to go with the first kind of person – someone you understand, and someone who understands you. Isn't it? But think about it for a second – if you both belong to the same rashi, which means as a couple, your good is going to be doubly good, and bad is going to be doubly bad. If you are not thrifty, together you are both going to be struggling to manage your finances! But maybe you'll both have a very lovey-dovey and romantic marriage, since you are both romantic in nature.
In fact, if your rashi and your sun-sign are both same, you may see this in yourself – your virtues and vices will both be intense in nature. Also if you look at the tables above, you will see how self-compatibility of many rashis is not good! A Mithun-Mithun alliance, or a Karka-Karka alliance should be avoided!
On the other hand, differences may in fact help you strike a better balance and make the marriage alliance more stable. A thrifty man will help keep the purse strings of a spend-thrift woman pulled; a patient woman may help a man remain calm through tough situations.
However, this is a subjective matter – which is why you cannot really depend on pandit-ji entirely. What you ought to be looking for is how well the pieces of the jigsaw fit together. Only you are the best judge of what kind of person you are, and what you want in your life partner. Compatibility could mean being exactly alike, or being poles apart. Find out what works for you.
The Dreaded 'Mangal'
One of the most feared and dreaded graha when it comes to kundali for marriages and match-making is mangal (Mars). We have all at some point in time heard stories of mangalik men and women – how they had to be married to a tree for the safety of their would-be partners, how their partners suffered because of their mangal, how they had to spend their lives in solitude because people were too scared to marry their children to them, and how someone got cheated into marrying a mangalik man or woman.
While our intention is not to belittle these experiences, there are a lot of myths and superstitions that surround the dreaded mangal. If you are worried about the mangal in your kundali, or that of your husband, you must know the following facts:
Everybody's kundali has mangal in it. There is no kundali in the world that is devoid of the graha mangal.
There is no such thing as 'good' mangal or 'bad' mangal.
The possibility of problems creeping up in a marriage do not multiply by the mere presence of mangal in the kundali.
Having said that, the particular position that mangal occupies in a kundali will affect the kind of life the person has. But this is true for all grahas. How else could everybody's kundalis be so different, if there are only 12 rashis in the world?
The reason mangal becomes a cause of concern for anybody is because it is one of the very strong and powerful grahas in the kundali (along with shani i.e. Saturn). However, that does not necessarily make it bad.
Do not let one thing in your kundali become the definition of your marriage or life.
What it Takes to Make it Work
Whether you believe in astrology or not, the sun, stars, moon and planets have existed for millions of years before you, and will continue to do so for millions of years after you. On the scale of the Universe, you could adopt either of two views – that everything in the world is connected, and one thing affects another; or the Universe is too big for there to be any kind of order, or harmony in it. A wound on your leg will not inhibit your ability to throw a ball with your hand, technically. However, the wound on your leg could distract you from the task at hand, and hence affect your ability.
So what Do we Do?
Simple: We Create The World We Want.
Your thoughts become your reality. If you think about the wound on your leg when you are throwing the ball, you will be distracted. However, if you think only about the ball, you might just be able to throw it well!
Ultimately, what it takes to make a marriage work is the willingness to do so, on both - the husband's and the wife's part. If you are both committed to make it work, nothing can stop you. Read more

Staying snuggled in a blanket, with a warm drink for comfort, and binging on some snacks as well as movies can feel like an extended holiday. But pregnancy diet in monsoon needs to adhere to certain standards. You might crave like having a hot samosa from the nearby shop while it rains outside, but that isn’t the best choice for your health as well as for your baby. Sticking to a few tips can make it easy for you to enjoy the season without risking yourself.

Diet Tips to Follow During Pregnancy in Monsoon
Monsoon and food might not always go hand-in-hand. Which is why adhering to these tips can help you navigate the season in a better way.
1. Say No to Street Food
Let’s start with the most important and the unfortunate one. Yes, that plate of panipuri might look too delicious to resist and having a kachori dipped in some nice chutney could get you all salivating. But all of those come under a list of foods to avoid during rainy season while pregnant. The season and your stage put your immunity at a lower strength, which can make it easier for infections from street food to enter your body and make you fall ill rather easily. Taking medication is usually not an option in pregnancy, which would lead you to suffer from the consequences of the same for a longer time.
2. Eat Your Meat With Caution
Your requirement for protein is quite high in pregnancy and seafood or meats are the best way to get them. But these food items need to be eaten with care as well. Make sure you get your meat from a healthy source since improper storage of meat can result in various microbes and parasites breeding inside it. Fish products are highly susceptible to it in this season and consuming any raw preparation should be avoided at all costs. When opting for meat-based dishes or any seafood preparations, choose the ones that involve elongated and intense cooking procedures, which will ensure that any bacteria present in it will be killed. Balance it out with other protein-rich vegetarian options as well.
3. Stay Hydrated Throughout the Season
The importance of this cannot be stressed enough. Monsoons and winters are two major seasons when our tendencies of thirst and the need for drinking water take a back seat, due to the surrounding atmospheric conditions. But the daily amount of water consumptions needs to be met without fail since a lot of bodily processes make use of it to rid your body of any toxins, especially in monsoons. Take care that you drink pure contamination free water or boiled water to protect yourself from water-borne diseases. Monsoons are the prime time for such infections to spread through water. Even if your own water supply might be externally purified, it is best to keep yourself safe by drinking boiled water as much as possible. Alternate it with coconut water or any natural fruit juices of your choice. These help in providing you with the necessary fluids, as well as any other salts and minerals, keeping your nutritive levels intact.
4. Say No to Raw Fruits in the Monsoon
Quite a shocker this one, isn’t it. Fruits might be one of the most core elements of your diet since they are natural, mostly safe, and provide tons of nutrients. As much as truth there might be to it, consumption of raw fruits might cause certain issues. Fruits do tend to have a water content within them, which automatically becomes one of the best locations for microbes to thrive in. Cutting open a fruit and leaving it in the open can attract those microbes within it, which transfer into your body when you eat the fruit. Therefore, whenever you want to eat a fruit, eat it fresh by cutting it and consuming it right away. Orange, kiwi, sweet lime are some of the best foods to eat in rainy season while pregnant. These contain numerous vitamins and many substances that work towards boosting your immunity, taking care of any toxins in your body, and providing your foetus with the elements it needs to take care of the baby. Fresh fruit juices are a better bet than the boxed items.
5. Raw Vegetables Are a No-No As Well
Just like fruits, any raw vegetables or salads ought to be avoided during monsoons. These are at a much higher risk than fruits because the tendency to cut vegetables in advance before consuming them is much more common. You don’t need to prepare a proper curry or a meal to eat them. Simply boiling them substantially and eating them can be quite safe in itself. Most vegetables are better when they are consumed after cooking since their raw forms could contain few substances or enzymes that can react with the body in unintended manners. The results of it could be indigestion or nausea since the stomach can process those enzymes effectively. Another great way of consuming vegetables easily is to use them in soup preparations. Make sure these are prepared within the confines of your home itself and not purchased from outside. The vegetables need to be stewed in the soup for a long duration so that they are cooked well and their nutrients are infused within the preparation.
Figuring out what are the safe foods to eat in the rainy season is not a difficult task since there are only a few precautions to be taken care of in that regard. However, slip-ups can take place quite easily and giving into your craving by gorging on street food could open you up to numerous diseases. Adhere to these tips for a few months and you can get back to your usual life when the season fades away.
