In fact, the price of the painless vaccines is double the cost of painful vaccines.
Painless vs. Painful Vaccine
DPT (Diphtheria, Pertussis and Tetanus) is a painful form of the painless vaccination. It is also known as Easy-five or Pentavac.
DaPT (Diphtheria, acellular Pertussis and Tetanus) is the painless version of the vaccination and is also known as Pentaxim.
Pentadic (painful) protects against Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Haemophilus Influenzae Type B and Hepatitis B, while Pentaxim (painless) protects against the same diseases except for Hepatitis B.
The painful vaccination causes swelling in the injected area and is often accompanied by fever whereas the painless vaccination does not have such severe after-effects.
Painless or Painful Vaccine – Which Is Better?
Painless as well as painful vaccines are equally effective. So you can choose either for your baby. But do keep in mind that the painless vaccines are expensive.
Immunization Schedule Based On the Choice of Vaccines
According to the Indian Academy of Paediatrics, one should give the painful vaccine as follows:
Primary Immunization: This should be given to babies at the ages of six weeks, ten weeks, and fourteen weeks.
Booster Shots: Booster shots should be given to a child when he turns one and a half years of age and at five years of age.

Primary Immunization: The IAP recommends that the painless vaccine be given only in special circumstances for the primary vaccinations. Some of the special circumstances include allergic reactions to the previous dose of the painful vaccine or when the child suffers from neurological problems.
Booster Shots: These can be given at the ages of one and a half years and five years.
Note: As per the new guidelines of IAP, the schedule for the painless vaccine and painful vaccine is the same.
As a parent, you might want to spare your child from the after-effects of the painful vaccination, but its benefits over the painless vaccine are much greater. It is all right to give your child the painless vaccine for the booster shots, but for their immunity, painful vaccines should be given.

९ महिने वयाच्या बाळाने किती अन्न खाल्ले पाहिजे?

ब्रोकोली, बटाटे, वांगी, फ्लॉवर, बटाटे, कांदे, मुळा हे सगळे शिजवून आणि कुस्करून बाळाला द्या.
३. मांस आणि अंडी
अंडी, चिकन, मासे स्वच्छ करून, शिजवून बाळाला देऊ शकता. कच्चे मांस आणि अंडी बाळाला देऊ नका.
४. पाणी आणि ज्यूस
तुमच्या बाळाची पंचनसंस्था ही विकसित होत असते, त्यामुळे बाळाला भरपूर पाणी द्या. प्रक्रिया केलेल्या ज्यूस पेक्षा घरीच नैसर्गिकरित्या (साखर न घालता) ज्यूस तयार करा.

*बाळाला अगदी थोडे थोडे अन्न द्या आणि बाळाला कुठली चव आवडते किंवा किती भूक आहे त्यानुसार प्रमाण वाढवा. बाळाला अन्न संपवण्यास जबरदस्ती करू नका.
टाळावयाचे अन्नपदार्थ
बाळाला स्वच्छ आणि ताजे अन्न देणे हे अतिशय महत्वाचे आहे. दक्ष रहा नि अन्नाचा पोत ओळखा जो आपल्या बाळाला त्याच्या आहारात समाविष्ट झालेला आवडेल. आता तुमचे बाळ आनंदाने तुमच्या कुटुंबासोबत जेवेल, इथे काही पदार्थ आहेत जे तुम्ही टाळले पाहिजेत.
१. मध
मधामध्ये काही जिवाणू आहेत ज्यामुळे बाळाला गंभीर आजार होऊ शकतो, त्यामुळे बाळाच्या पोटाला इजा होऊन "Infant Botulism" नावाचा गंभीर आजार होऊ शकतो. तसेच बाळाच्या नवीन येणाऱ्या दातांना सुद्धा त्याने इजा पोहचू शकते.
२. मासे
शार्क, स्वार्डफिश किंवा मर्लिन मध्ये पाऱ्याचे खूप जास्त प्रमाण असते, त्यामुळे बाळाच्या मज्जासंस्थेवर परिणाम होतो. तसेच अन्नाविषबाधा होऊ नये म्हणून शेलफिश टाळा.
३. सुकामेवा
बाळ ५ वर्षांचे होईपर्यंत त्याला सुकामेवा देऊ नका, कारण तो घशात अडकण्याची शक्यता असते.
४. साखर
बाळाच्या दातांसाठी गोड पदार्थ चांगले नाहीत. ह्यामध्ये आईस्क्रीम, बिस्किट्स आणि गोड पदार्थांचा समावेश आहे.
५. मीठ
बाळाच्या अन्नामध्ये मीठ घालू नका कारण बाळाची मूत्रपिंडे नाजूक असल्याने मीठ घातलेल्या अन्नपदार्थांमुळे त्यांच्यावर ताण येण्याची शक्यता असते. त्यामुळे मीठ असलेले पदार्थ जसे की नमकीन, चिप्स वगैरे टाळा. बाळांनी १ ग्रॅम च्या पेक्षा कमी मीठ खाल्ले पाहिजे.
६. आंबट आणि आम्लयुक्त फळे
काही अर्भकांना ह्या आंबट फळांमुळे ऍसिडिटी होऊ शकते. तथापी थोडे लिंबू, प्युरी मध्ये पिळून देऊ शकता.
७. शेंगदाणे आणि बिया
ह्या अन्नपदार्थांमुळे बाळांना ऍलर्जी होऊ शकते. साधारणपणे एक वर्षांवरील बाळाला तुम्ही हे देऊ शकता.
८. संपूर्ण दूध
दुधामुळे पोट बिघडू शकते, स्तनपानासोबत ते कधीही देऊ नका. तसेच त्यामुळे लोह शोषण रक्तामध्ये नीट होत नाही आणि बाळाच्या वाढीसाठी हे चांगले नाही.
तुम्ही बाळाला फिंगर फूड आणि स्नॅक्स देऊ शकता का?
९ महिन्यांचे बाळ, फिंगर फूड आणि स्नॅक्स घेण्याजोगे असते, त्यांना ह्या वयात अंगठा आणि तर्जनी च्या साहाय्याने छोट्या वस्तू उचलण्याचे कौशल्य आत्मसात होते. जर तुमचे बाळ छोट्या छोट्या गोष्टी अंगठा आणि तर्जनी च्या साहाय्याने कुठल्याही मदतीशिवाय उचलत असेल आणि अन्नाचे छोटे तुकडे चावून खाऊ शकत असेल तर तुमच्या ९ महिन्यांच्या बाळाला फिंगर फूड ची ओळख करून देण्याची गरज आहे. ते पुढीलपैकी काहीही असू शकते, जसे की शिजवलेले गाजर, सफरचंद, पेअर, काकडी, पनीर वगैरे, जे बाळ दातांनी चावून खाऊ शकते. तुम्ही ह्याचे छोटे छोटे तुकडे करून बाळाच्या हातात खाण्यासाठी देऊ शकता. फिंगर फूड देताना काळजी घ्या आणि तुमच्या बाळाला कधीही एकटे सोडू नका.
जर बाळ वरील गोष्टी बोटात धरू शकत नसेल तर फिंगर फूड देण्यास १ ते २ महिने वाट पहा.
जेवणाच्यामध्ये तुम्ही एक किंवा दोन नाश्त्याचा समावेश करू शकता. थोड्या थोड्या अंतराने थोडे अन्न दिल्यास बाळाला हा बदल भविष्यात सुकर होईल. स्तनपानावर ह्याचा परिणाम होणार नाही ह्याची खात्री करा.
९ महिन्यांच्या बाळासाठी घरी तयार करता येतील अशा पाककृती
इथे काही पाककृती दिल्या आहेत ज्या तुम्हाला तुमच्या बाळासाठी घरी करता येऊ शकतील.
१. भोपळा आणि थाईम प्युरी
ही अगदी साधी पाककृती असून ह्यामध्ये भरपूर बीटा कॅरोटीन, पोटॅशियम आणि लोह असते.
साहित्य
१ छोटा भोपळा
१/२ टेबल स्पून थाईम
१-२ कप पाणी, आईचे दूध
कृती
भोपळा कापून त्याचे साल काढून टाका. सगळ्या बिया काढून टाका आणि मिक्सर मध्ये फिरवून घ्या.
पाणी घालून तुम्हाला हवे तसे घट्ट किंवा पातळ करून घ्या. थाईम घालून पुन्हा मिक्सर मध्ये फिरवून घ्या. जेव्हा प्युरी तयार होईल तेव्हा कुकर मध्ये घालून १०-१५ मिनिटे शिजवून घ्या. ( १-२ शिट्ट्या)
२. क्विनोवा आणि कुस्करलेलं केळं
ह्यामध्ये भरपूर पोषणमूल्ये असतात आणि दुपारच्या जेवणासाठी हा अगदी छान पर्याय आहे.
साहित्य
१/२ केळं
एक चिमूटभर दालचिनी पावडर
३ टेबलस्पून शिजवलेले क्विनोआ
१ टेबलस्पून दही
कृती
एका भांड्यात केळं कुस्करून घ्या. दुसऱ्या एका भांड्यात क्विनोआ पाणी घालून शिजवून घ्या. शिजवून घ्या. (१० -१२ मिनिटे ) ह्यामध्ये तेल घालू नका. शिजवलेलं क्विनोवा केळ्यामध्ये घाला, दही घालून चांगले मिक्स करा.
चवीपुरती दालचिनी पूड घालून सर्व्ह करा.
३. भाज्या घालून केलेली साधी खिचडी
ही एक भारतीय पाककृती आहे. बाळाला जेव्हा घन पदार्थांची ओळख करून दिली जाते तेव्हा हे पाककृती विचारात घेतली जाते.
साहित्य
१/२ कप तांदूळ
१/२ कप मूग डाळ
१ कप स्वच्छ धुवून बारीक चिरलेल्या भाज्या ( गाजर, वाटाणा, बटाटे आणि बीन्स )
१ टेबल स्पून तूप
१ चिमूट हळद
१/२ टेबल स्पून जिरे
चिरलेली कोथिंबीर
कृती
डाळ आणि तांदूळ स्वच्छ धुवून घ्या. आणि पाण्यात ३० मिनिटे भिजत घाला. प्रेशर कुकर मध्ये थोडे तूप गरम करून घ्या. आता जिऱ्याची फोडणी द्या. नंतर डाळ तांदूळ आणि भाज्या घाला. हे मिश्रण चांगले परतून घ्या, थोडे मीठ घाला. पाणी घालून मिश्रण चांगले शिजू द्या. कुकर मध्ये ३-४ शिट्ट्या होऊ द्या.
चमच्याने खिचडी थोडी मॅश करून घ्या. वरून थोडे तूप घालून बाळाला भरवा.
४. कणकेचा हलवा
कणकेचा हलवा किंवा लापशी. ही पाककृती ९ महिन्यांच्या बाळासाठी आहे.

२ टेबलस्पून पीठ
१/२ टेबल स्पून तूप
२ कप पाणी
फॉर्मुला किंवा आईचे दूध
कृती
एका भांड्यात तूप गरम करून घ्या
कणिक चांगली भाजून घ्या, सतत हलवत रहा नाहीतर ती करपण्याची शक्यता असते.
खरपूस वास यायला लागल्यावर थोडे गरम पाणी घाला.
गाठी होऊ नयेत म्हणून सतत हलवत रहा.
तुम्हाला हवे तसे घट्ट पातळ करून घ्या.
तुमच्या बाळाला मऊ हलवा आवडेल.
गॅस बंद करा.
जेव्हा हलवा थोडा थंड होईल तेव्हा थोडे दूध घालून पातळ करून घ्या त्यामुळे हलव्याला स्वाद सुद्धा येईल.
तुम्ही गोड़ चवीसाठी कुस्करलेलं किंवा अँपल सॉस सुद्धा घालू शकता.
५. भाज्यांचे तुकडे
९ महिन्यांच्या बाळासाठी फिंगर फूड म्हणून हे अगदी योग्य आहे. हे बाळाला सकाळी किंवा संध्याकाळी नाश्त्यासाठी दिले जाऊ शकते.

कुठल्याही भाज्यांचे मोठे तुकडे करा जे बाळाला बोटांमध्ये पकडता येतील. प्रेशर कुकर मध्ये ५-७ मिनिटे उकडून घ्या आणि गरम सर्व्ह करा.
बाळाला भरवतानाच्या काही टिप्स
बाळाला भरवताना घन पदार्थ एका मोठ्या चमच्यात घेऊन त्याचे छोटे छोटे घास भरवा
वयाच्या ह्या टप्प्यावर बाळाला सगळ्या भाज्या आणि फळे द्यायला हवेत. परंतु त्याचे एक वेळापत्रक करून तुमच्या बालरोगतज्ञांशी त्याविषयी चर्चा करा. ह्यामुळे जर बाळाला एखाद्या अन्नपदार्थाविषयी ऍलर्जी असेल तर ती टाळता येईल.
' four day rule ' पाळा, म्हणजे नवीन अन्नपदार्थ बाळाला देण्याआधी ४ दिवस वाट पहा आणि बाळाला त्याची ऍलर्जी आहे का हे तपासून पहा.
वेळ किती पटकन पुढे सरकतो, लवकरच तुमचे ९ महिन्यांचे बाळ चालायला आणि पळायला लागेल. त्यामुळे बाळाला आरोग्यपूर्ण जेवणाच्या सवयी कशा लागतील हे पहा आणि त्यांचा हा बालपणाचा पाया पक्का करा.
