Mouth Ulcers During Pregnancy
Pregnancy is a challenging phase and may bring about uncomfortable changes like mouth ulcers. Due to the lowered strength of the immune system and hormonal imbalances, mouth ulcers can commonly affect women during pregnancy. The good news, however, is that these ulcers are not a complication and can be managed and cured easily.
What Are Mouth Ulcers?
Also known as canker sores, these open sores ulcers also known as cold sores or Aphthous stomatitis, are small white or yellow spots present in and around the mouth that are surrounded by a circle of red. They can occur anytime during pregnancy.
Types of Mouth Ulcers
It may come as a surprise, but mouth ulcers also have types.
1. Minor Mouth Ulcers
This type is very common during pregnancy. Minor mouth ulcers usually measure approximately 2-9 mm. They may occur at the base of the mouth, and on the gums or tongue. For pregnant women, mouth and gum ulcers may take up to 10 days to heal, whereas tongue ulcers may take up to 12 days. Most of the time, they go away on their own.
2. Major Mouth Ulcers
Major mouth ulcers are quite uncommon in pregnant women. They have a diameter of about 10 mm and may take several weeks or months to heal. They may appear on the surface of the tongue, gums, base of the mouth and even in the throat. These ulcers can leave scars and be extremely painful. A way to manage and cure this type of mouth ulcer is to increase your water intake.
3. Herpetiform Ulcers
This type of ulcer is more a virus than a sore, it has a very small diameter of about 1 mm. These ulcer spots usually pop out in multiple places in clusters of dozens. It takes 2 or 3 weeks to heal and may leave behind a scar.
Causes
Ulcers can manifest anytime during pregnancy. If you know why they happen, prevention and cure become easy.
1. Stress
Stress is one of the main culprits of mouth ulcers.
2. Diet
An imbalanced diet that lacks essential vitamins like vitamin B12 and minerals like zinc or iron can also cause mouth ulcers.
3. Sleep Deprivation
Sleep deprivation can cause hormonal and chemical imbalances in the body that have many side effects including mouth ulcers.
4. Change in Immunity
A weak immune system can cause an outbreak of mouth ulcers.
5. Hormonal Changes
A rapid change in hormones can alter the chemical composition of the body leading to mouth ulcers.
Symptoms
The most common symptom of a mouth ulcer is the wound inside the mouth. You can identify ulcers during pregnancy with symptoms like:
Fever
Itchiness at the site of the ulcer
A burning pain inside the mouth, especially on the tongue and base of the mouth
Bad breath or mouth odour
Difficulty in eating food and drinking liquids
Mouth ulcers during the third trimester of pregnancy can also cause a loss of energy, lethargy and in rare cases, it may cause bleeding of the gums.
Treatment
You can treat mouth ulcers both naturally and with medication. Before using any medication, consult your gynaecologist and understand the risks if any. Ointments are the best way to treat ulcers but some contain steroids that may impact the pregnancy.
Natural Ways To Treat Mouth Ulcers
Apart from allopathic medicines, natural remedies for mouth ulcers also exist.
1. Turmeric
Turmeric is a great natural antiseptic and is anti-inflammatory too. It is a commonly used ingredient in Asian foods and is known in parts of India, Thailand, and Sri-Lanka for treating ulcers. There is no certainty how the effect of turmeric on ulcers has not been studied extensively outside this region.
2. Aloe Vera
This is a great ingredient, known to help prevent many diseases and infections as well as purifying the skin. Some believe that aloe is an outstanding cure for mouth ulcers, much like turmeric. However, there are not enough studies to guarantee this.
3. Salt Licorice
Licorice root is an impressive natural ingredient that has a large number of health benefits. The Nords believe that the sweet licorice purifies the digestive tract and salt licorice purifies the blood. Icelanders and Norwegians believe that salt licorice is also a great cure for mouth ulcers, there are no studies that back this up yet.
How To Prevent Mouth Ulcers?
These oral hygiene tips can help to prevent ulcers.
Keep yourself hydrated and sleep well.
Avoid spicy foods.
Use mouthwash to kill bad bacteria.
Floss regularly.
Take vitamin B12 supplements if advised.
Dental hygiene and a good diet will help support and improve the immune system. Managing stress is also an important factor in combating mouth ulcers when pregnant. Doing prenatal yoga and spending some time meditating is an excellent way to balance out your hormones temporarily as well as managing stress long term.
Talk to your doctor before starting a new routine, implementing any alternative form of treatment or integrating new activities and foods into your diet. Never exceed dosages of prescribed medications or self-medicate. Mouth ulcers are not a serious health ailment that affect pregnancy. With the right treatment, an ulcer-free mouth is indeed possible.

Healthy Lifestyle Post Pregnancy: Happiness Commandments for Cheerful Mothers
Healthy lifestyle post pregnancy is a must just like the way it was during pregnancy - in fact, I should say healthy lifestyle is a must no matter what. We look for excuses and cheat meal options just every other second and we always say that our body is craving for it. So here are a few healthy options to get back to a fit body and soul.
1. Have a Set Routine
Kids and a routine might sound crazy, but if you yourself start following a routine like an approximate time to be up, get your breakfast and do other chores and a set time to be sleeping, even your kids will slowly revolve around that routine. This will give you time for yourself and keep you mentally happy.
2. Meditate
Not asking you to chant or do any religious mantras, but if you wish to, why not? Five minutes by the clock just focus on positive energy and thoughts. It will give you such a positive feel through the day that you would achieve more than you thought you could.
3. Eating Healthy
This is something we all have the hardest time following, and the excuse of cravings take us to the next level and then there's no looking back. I swear by drinking hot water with carom seeds, Mint and black cumin water which helped me reduce all the pregnancy weight both times. Reducing carbohydrate intake and increasing protein intake has been another boon that gives more energy in general to carry out tasks at home. So yes, do try the same as it might be as beneficial to you as it's been for me. Munch on chocolates too, but just one big chunky square so that your cravings are well under control. Increasing fibre in the form of oats, fruits, and sauteed veggies will make life so much healthier. Recipes are endless when it comes to yummy healthy food. So say yes to a healthy lifestyle by making minor changes.
4. Drink Water
Increasing your water intake can make things so much easier in terms of good health. The constipation experienced by many due to breastfeeding is controlled. It regulates your unhealthy eating and increases your metabolism, plus adds all the glory benefits it has for the skin.
5. Exercise
How can we forget the most crucial aspect to healthy living? As a mom you have enough on your plate, but that necessarily doesn't count as exercise. Divide you exercise routine into basic 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening. It doesn't have to be heading off to gym, but just a basic walk or stretches or abdominal curls which you can plan as day-to-day activity. 15 minutes by the clock don't seem so stressful and those 15 minutes make it all worthwhile.
6. Sleep
Get as much sleep as you can. A wink here or there matters. It keeps the mothers active as well as calm, otherwise you never know how many times a day your temper might boil. If you have someone who can take care of the baby for a while it's a boon; you can just take a wink or a power nap and you ll be refreshed.
7. Hobby
Try doing something during the day which you like. Be it reading a page of a book, or drawing or listening to music or watching your favourite episode. Do what interests you and you enjoy that will keep you positive happy, and you'll be happier to look after your children with a genuine smile on your face.

Does Your Voice Change During Pregnancy?
You may be glowing with happiness to welcome your little bundle of joy into this world. Everyone around you may have loaded you with information about the physical and emotional changes that your body may be undergoing in the next few months. However, did anyone mention that you may be experiencing a change in your voice too? Sounds strange or weird, well, many women may actually experience a difference in their voice during pregnancy. What may be reasons for this phenomenon and when should you feel alarmed, find out all this information in this post.
What Causes Voice Changes in Pregnancy?
From the time you become pregnant and until the birth of your baby, you may experience many changes. Where most of the metabolic, physiological and anatomical changes may subside after you deliver your baby, the same may not hold true for your pregnancy voice change. Here are some causes that may change the pitch, quality, perturbation rate of your voice during pregnancy:
1. Swelling of Your Vocal Chords
You may experience swelling on your arms, legs and face, and sometimes vocal folds tissues may swell up too. The swelling may put pressure on the vocal chores and may change the voice quality.
2. Pregnancy Hormones
You may undergo various changes during pregnancy due to the changing hormonal levels in your body. The surge in estrogen and progesterone hormones in the body may affect a pregnant woman's body, and this hormonal imbalance affects the voice quality too.
3. More Bodily Fluids
During pregnancy, your body fluids increase by approximately 50 per cent. The increased fluids in the body may alter or deepen your voice because the excess amount of fluid (mucus) may sometimes get collected near the vocal cords, which may reduce the vibration rate. The slower vibrations may deepen your voice.
4. Change in the Lung Capacity
As your little munchkin grows inside your womb, he may push your internal organs upwards, including your diaphragm. This may make you experience breathing issues, vocal fatigue, decreased lung capacity and a changed voice. This may decrease the ability of your voice to sustain high notes.
5. Changed Voice Range
The blood vessels of your entire body dilate during pregnancy to carry the increased supply of the blood to various parts of the body. This may occur in your vocal cord vessels too, which may make your vocal cord muscles fragile and thus more prone to rupturing and tearing. This may cause the voice to change during pregnancy.
6. LPR or Laryngopharyngeal Reflux
Progesterone may affect the functioning oesophagal sphincter, which is responsible for keeping your stomach’s acid and other content from travelling back into your larynx. This may make the stomach acid to move up to the oesophagus and may result in LPR or Laryngopharyngeal reflux. LPR may alter your voice during pregnancy because it may irritate the voice box.
7. Changes in Nasal Resonance
We have discussed in the above section that pregnancy may lead to swelling in various parts of the body and it may occur on your nose too. The swelling on and around your nasal region may cause hindrance in breathing. The decreased nasal resonance may cause a hoarse voice while pregnant.
8. Changed Posture
Your entire support mechanism undergoes a tremendous change during pregnancy, which may make changes in your voice too. As you enter into your final trimester, you may experience noticeable changes in your back, chest and pelvis. These may lead to changed posture and changed voice too.
It is entirely normal to experience any changes in voice during pregnancy. In most cases, your voice may get back to normal after the birth of your baby or in some cases a few months after delivery. However, you may require to feel alarmed or get your alarm bells ringing in certain situations.
When to See a Laryngologist
Your pregnancy hormones may be the culprit in most cases of changed voice issues during pregnancy; however, if you experience any of the following changes, you should see a laryngologist as soon as possible:
If you experience any loss of voice during pregnancy
If you experience any sort of discomfort or pain while talking or singing
If you feel there is a sudden change in your voice quality after your talk or sing or when you sneeze or cough
If you are experiencing any changes in your voice during pregnancy, it is essential for you to understand that it is a very normal phenomenon. Also, you should not make efforts to strain your voice thinking that it may make it better. Sometimes straining the larynx may damage your vocal chords. You should relax, drink ample amounts of water and do some breathing exercises to reduce any swelling. Very soon you may be singing sweet lullabies to your precious little one.

Trichomoniasis During Pregnancy - Symptoms, Complications and Treatment
During pregnancy, a woman can never be too careful about her own health as well as her unborn baby's. From a common cold to more sinister infections, anything can be risky during pregnancy. Trichomoniasis is one such disease that can pose risks to your health during your pregnancy.
What Is Trichomoniasis?
This infection is most common in women of the age group of 19 to 40 years who are sexually active. If it goes unnoticed, the infection can last for several months or even years. The incubation period for the parasite is around five days to twenty-eight days from exposure to infection.
What Causes Trichomoniasis?
Trichomoniasis is caused by a microscopic protozoan parasite called trichomoniasis vaginalis. It is a reasonably common sexually transmitted infection (STI), and it spreads through skin-to-skin contact during sexual activity. It does not require an exchange of bodily fluids to be transmitted from one person to the other.
Who Is at a Higher Risk of Contracting Trichomoniasis?
People who are at a greater risk for contracting trichomoniasis include:
People who have multiple sexual partners
People whose partner could be infected
Anyone who has had a prior Trichomoniasis infection
People who prefer sex without a condom
People who have had other sexually transmitted infections
What Are the Symptoms of Trichomoniasis?
Sometimes, trichomoniasis does not have any indicative symptoms. Symptoms, if seen, are generally observed only in women. Men characteristically do not show any symptoms of the infection. Noticeable indications are as follows:
Frothy discharge from the vagina
Pain during urination
Itchy vagina or red vulva
Foul smelling discharge from the vagina
Vaginal discharge that is coloured yellowish or green
Possible spotting after intercourse
Lower abdominal discomfort
How is Trichomoniasis Diagnosed in Pregnancy?
Women are not routinely screened principally for trichomoniasis, and tests for trichomoniasis during pregnancy are not generally conducted either. Pregnant women should watch out for symptoms, especially bothersome itching or smelly, foul discharge. A woman displaying any symptoms should inform her doctor immediately and get tested for it. Doctors use a sample swab of vaginal discharge to look for microscopic parasites. They run further tests such as a rapid antigen test to confirm the presence of trichomoniasis.
How Does Trichomoniasis Affect a Pregnant Woman?
A trichomoniasis infection during pregnancy is linked to certain risks. The possible effects of trichomoniasis in pregnancy are:
1. Chances of Premature Labour and Delivery
The risk of having premature contractions, an inflamed cervix, and premature delivery are associated with a trichomoniasis infection.
2. Delivering a Baby with Low Birth Weight
Being infected during pregnancy can lead to the mother delivering a baby whose weight is less than 2.49 kgs.
3. Transmission of Trichomoniasis to the Baby During Delivery
There is a very rare but possible chance that a baby can contract the infection during vaginal birth, but it can be treated immediately with antibiotics and does not pose any risk to the infant.
4. Likelihood of Contracting HIV
Women who are infected with trichomoniasis could be susceptible to contracting HIV or other STIs.
How to Avoid Passing the Infection on to Your Baby at Birth
Although trichomoniasis is a common infection, it is unusual for it to be passed on to an infant at birth and it can be easily remedied if the infant contracts the infections. It would be prudent to undergo a screening during pregnancy especially if a woman feels she is at risk of contracting an infection. If detected with trichomoniasis, the pregnant woman should take treatment immediately after prognosis. Being cleared of infection before going into labour removes any risk of transmission at the time of delivery.
Treatment for Trichomoniasis During Pregnancy
Trichomoniasis is routinely treated with a large dose of antibiotics, either tinidazole or metronidazole. Both the pregnant woman and her partner must get treated to prevent passing the infection to one another alternately. Both partners should avoid sexual intercourse until the infection is fully cleared up. After treatment, it takes about one week for the infection to completely clear up. People mostly make a complete recovery after treatment.
It is advisable to avoid alcohol between 24 to 72 hours after ingestion of medication during the treatment. Consumption of alcohol may lead to vomiting and nausea. At any rate, pregnant women should avoid alcohol altogether.
Metronidazole has been indicated to have detrimental effects on the foetus, especially during the first trimester. Work with your doctor to comprehend whether the benefits offset the risks involved in getting treatment.
Can Trichomoniasis Be Prevented?
The risk of infection, as mentioned above, increases with multiple sexual partners. It is very rare for casual, non-sexual contact to cause the transfer of the parasite instrumental in causing infection. Therefore, safe sex between partners in a monogamous relationship could help prevent the infection.
As trichomoniasis is an STI which can spread through skin contact, condoms are not the most reliable method of preventing infection. Using a condom is still considered sensible, although trichomoniasis is not transmitted by the exchange of bodily fluids. It can help in reducing the chances of transmitting or contracting the infection.
It is important to remember that this infection may be completely free of symptoms and that it may also have no adverse effects on pregnancy. The trick is to understand the symptoms correctly without confusing them for other pregnancy symptoms and getting timely treatment during pregnancy. This will ensure a safe and risk-free pregnancy for a to-be-mother.

10 Most Reliable Ways to Get Funding for a Startup in India
Launching your own business and living the entrepreneurial dream is the vision of every startup founder. Unfortunately, things don't always go according to plan, because we can't really predict what lies ahead of us. More than 90% of startups shut down during the first five years of operations and there's a reason why - finances.
Put simply, when you first take your idea from concept to reality, funding matters. Today, we'll cover some of the most popular ways to raise funds for startups in India and what else you can do to make sure you meet your requirements.
Funding Options to Raise Startup Capital (Money) for Your Business
There's no one-way ticket to funding when it comes to raising capital for your startup. The initial stages are always hard but if you work smart, and play your cards right - you'll get it. Here are some of the most popular funding options on how to raise capital for your startup.
1. Self-funding
The first and most popular way of funding for a startup is self-funding or funding your idea by yourself. If you believe in your idea strongly, you'd definitely fund it yourself - at least to a certain degree. This not only reflects your seriousness but other investors will acknowledge your efforts too and be willing to take a look.
2. Crowdfunding
Crowdfunding is basically getting many people to invest tiny amounts of money into your business plan, goals, and ideas. For this to work, you need to have people who believe in your venture or startup concept. There are various popular websites for crowdfunding online and you can make the best of both worlds by asking people offline too. From your neighbours to your parents, friends and family, and places or meetups where you get to network for career opportunities or startup events, crowdfunding has literally no limits when it comes to the possibilities.
3. Venture Capitalists
Venture capitalists support startups in their initial stages with professionally acquired and managed funds. Ordinarily, they are the investors who invest in businesses which don't have access to market equities. Since they invest in small businesses and startups, the funding offers may be lucrative. However, they invest in your startup sort of like equities, in different proportions. They quit or don't invest, however, if your startup has already released its Initial Public Offering (IPO).
4. Angel Investors
Angel investors are literally angels for your business when you're strapped in funding options. However, it comes at a price for the future. If an angel investor agrees to fund you, he may demand a huge portion of ownership from your startup. Sometimes this portion may be as high as 30%, and that's why you need to be aware of what you're getting into when you commit to one. The good news is you get a substantial amount of funding when compared to venture capitalists and that's a huge plus.
5. Business Incubators and Accelerators
Business incubators not only invest in your business but also help it grow. Business accelerators, on the other hand, speed things up and get your idea running off the ground. There are many business funding programs with these two keywords in various cities so be sure to watch out for them. Furthermore, in the case of business incubators, mentorship and training are offered for around 4 to 8 months, generally speaking. However, if you don't stay committed, only bad news will await you.
6. Startup Events and Contests
There are many startup events and contests hosted every year in different Indian cities. These are the best avenues to showcase your idea's potential and compete with other brands. If you win these, not only will you win money but get potential and high-profile investors to notice you. Get their backing, continue putting in the work, stick to your commitment, and you'll watch the magic unfold in reality.
7. Bank Loans
Banks provide lucrative loans at attractive interest rates to startups and small business owners. But to get these loans sanctioned, your idea must be solid and you must have an action plan in place. It's your job to convince the bank officials that your idea is worth investing in and if it is - they'll decide how much or what interest rate they should cap the loan at.
8. Government Funding
You're living in India and the Government watches every step you take. We're kidding, but not about the government part. You can secure funding from the government and national authorities by submitting your business proposal to them. They'll scrutinize your application and if it seems worth it, you'll get some funding. Or you might save on taxes, which works too. Startup India is a good resource to look into regarding this.
9. Micro-financing
Micro-financing, while on the slightly more expensive side, is another popular way of getting funding when your business doesn't qualify for bank loans. If your CIBIL score is low or if your idea gets rejected downright, consider this option. Put simply, these are financial services which are an alternative to bank loans.
10. Retail Investors
Retail investors are other players in the industry who are active in the same niche or similar/related ones. These investors usually invest in your idea in a way similar to how it's done for mutual funds - in small pieces. You might get these investors from closed groups and they're likely to give you industry advice too, besides the investing part.
FAQs
Funding doesn't always go the way most startup founders picture it. There will be questions, which is why we've made a list of the most popular ones.
1. How Do I Raise Funding for a Startup Business with Bad Credit?
The short answer is - it takes time but it's a bit easier than you think. Look for web-based loan providers or micro-financing players and you'll get a headstart. Besides this, if you have bad credit - you still have angel investors, crowdfunding, and bootstrapping or self-funding options in place. Banks typically account for just 25% of your funding requirements, which means the rest comes from other sources. That's the great news.
2. Will My Investors Sign an NDA Prior to Funding or Investing?
No, they won't. Because they're simply too busy for it and won't put in the energy to steal ideas at their initial stages like that.
3. How Many Founding Team Members Should I Have for My Startup?
No more than two to three. Because things get confusing or may slow down if you have multiple founding members. Keep it simple.
4. How Do I know If My Idea is Worth It?
The surefire and easiest way to find out is to talk to your consumers or customers. Interact with them, meet up, offer free samples or demos, or even provide pre-launch offers. Get as much feedback as you can from your users and improve upon your product. And before you know it, you'll get where you want to be.
5. How Much Should I Spend on Myself?
As little as you need to get by. You want to handle your finances responsibly and look disciplined to investors, not be someone who's untrustworthy and overspends unnecessarily.
Getting funding isn't as hard as you think but it takes three things - commitment, uniqueness, and time. Get these in order and you'll be getting there sooner than you think.

A. Yes you are right sometimes a woman’s are really light but if in 24 hours you haven’t even felt one time that Baby is moving or any of the so it’s better to get an ultrasound done one time you still have time to visit your doctor if you feel any movement it is all good because if you do not feel the movement within maths 24 hours it’s best to get a check with your doctor
