Can a Yeast Infection Affect Fertility and Your Chances of Conception
Most women are likely to get a yeast infection sometime in their lifetime. Many factors like birth control pills, menstruation, pregnancy, tight clothing etc. can trigger yeast infections in women. Whenever women who are looking forward to having a baby, hear that they have a yeast infection, the first thing they want to know is if it can affect their chances of conception.
A yeast infection may not directly affect the fertility of a woman. However, the discomfort and itchiness caused by yeast infections may dissuade her from indulging in intercourse, thereby influencing her odds of getting pregnant. If immediate medical consultations are taken, a yeast infection can be easily treated and resolved in a fortnight or so. Thus, women don’t need to worry about it anymore. However, if you need more information about the chances of getting pregnant while you have a yeast infection, read on.
What Is a Yeast Infection?
Yeast infection or candidiasis commonly occurs in women because of a fungus/ microorganism called candida that causes an imbalance in the body leading to an overgrowth of yeast cells. The vagina usually has a healthy quantity of yeast cells and bacteria. Candida and another bacterium called lactobacillus are also naturally present in the vagina. Lactobacillus is the good bacteria that is responsible for keeping a check on the growth of candida. But, in case of an imbalance, the yeast cells start multiplying, leading to an infection. Candida albicans, in particular, is a type of pathogenic yeast that produces most yeast infections.
Symptoms of Yeast Infection
Yeast infections can show more than one symptom which might go unnoticed in its initial phases. Here are some of the symptoms that can help you identify a yeast infection and take necessary actions to treat or avoid it.
Rashes around the vagina.
Intense itching and irritation around the area.
Swelling around the vaginal area.
Presence of a clumpy or watery, yellowish/ whitish-grey vaginal discharge accompanied by itching and discomfort.
Foul-smelling discharge.
Burning sensation during urinating.
Pain or burning sensations during intercourse.
Soreness and redness around the vagina.
Causes of Yeast Infection
There are several reasons for yeast infections. Here are some of them.
Strong antibiotics
Uncontrolled diabetes/ high sugar levels
Poor immune system
Pregnancy
Hormonal imbalance
Stressful lifestyle
Does a Yeast Infection Cause Infertility?
Women trying to conceive with a yeast infection are likely to wonder whether or not they can get pregnant with a yeast infection. There is no need to panic as you can conceive even if you have a yeast infection because there is no conclusive evidence that indicates yeast infections cause infertility in women. However, the symptoms associated with yeast infections, which include soreness, swelling, irritation, and burning sensations can make sex uncomfortable and painful. So, a woman suffering from a yeast infection may not be inclined to engage in intercourse. Therefore, a yeast infection does not directly impact fertility, but it can certainly contribute to the problems of becoming pregnant by interfering with the person’s sex life. Also, recurrent yeast infections can create a hostile environment for the sperm, making conception difficult.
How Does it Affect Your Chances of Getting Pregnant?
An untreated yeast infection is not the exact cause of infertility in women; however, it certainly plays an indirect role in creating complications for conception in the following ways:
If a woman has a yeast infection, she should avoid having sex, as there is a slight chance that the infection may pass on to her partner.
The pain and discomfort can prevent her from having sex. She may not feel like having sex because of the intense pain. Both of these factors can make her miss her fertile window, thereby affecting her chances of conceiving.
Certain antifungal creams used for treating the infection can change the vaginal pH balance, which may hamper the easy transportation of the sperm to the egg.
It is also possible that a woman’s immune system can become counterproductive, and the white blood cells in her body while battling the yeast infection may unintentionally extinguish her partner’s sperm thus making conception harder.
How to Treat Yeast Infection While Trying to Conceive
Every problem has a solution. A yeast infection in a woman surely makes it difficult for her to conceive, but that does not mean she cannot get pregnant at all. If you are trying to conceive and have a yeast infection, here is how you can fight it:
In case you have a yeast infection while you are trying to conceive, it is best to refrain from sex until it gets cured completely.
Early detection and swift treatment may prove helpful in quick healing.
Your doctor may suggest some vaginal creams that may be applied directly to the affected area for a few days to provide relief from soreness and itching.
Vaginal pessaries are another option. The pessary dissolves in the vagina and attacks the root of the underlying infection.
Prescribed pills for severe yeast infections can also help, although they don’t offer immediate respite from the itching and discomfort as creams do.
Can You Prevent a Yeast Infection?
Although women experience yeast infections 2 to 3 times in their lifetime, you can prevent them with these simple precautionary measures:
Keep your immunity up by following a healthy diet and an exercise routine; include lots of fruits and vegetables in your diet to promote good bacteria.
Avoid excess consumption of sugary foods as they can trigger the growth of unhealthy bacteria in the body.
Maintain hygiene around the vaginal area; however, refrain from using harsh scented soaps. Such soaps can disturb the vaginal pH balance and increase your chances of getting a yeast infection.
In case you have to take a course of antibiotics, do consider taking probiotics for the development of healthy bacteria.
Increase your consumption of yoghurt, opt for plain yoghurt, which is devoid of any sugar.
Do not wear extremely tight clothes, especially tight bottoms, as they may promote the occurrence of yeast.
Change out of wet swimsuits and sweaty workout clothes as soon as possible. Keep the vaginal area dry and clean.
Urinate after intercourse. Urinating after intercourse flushes out bacteria, if any, that has entered the urinary tract. The bacteria cannot settle in the tract and cause infection.
Go in for breathable cotton underwear which doesn’t trap moisture or heat.
Try to use chemical-free pads or tampons and change them often when menstruating. You can also switch to an environment-friendly menstrual cup.
Do not douche as it can interfere with the pH balance of the vagina and remove the good bacteria which counters the infection.
Avoid hot baths as it can increase the chances of yeast growth.
Getting pregnant with a yeast infection is possible; however, it may be bothersome. In the instance of recurring yeast infections, or difficulty in curing through home remedies, it is advisable to consult a gynaecologist for tests and specific treatments.

Christmas Tree Drawing for Kids in 10 Simple Steps
Are you ready for the easiest Christmas tree drawing for kids? We’ll show you how in 10 simple steps.
Step 1: Draw an inverted ‘V’.
Start by drawing an unfinished ‘A’ or inverted ‘V’ shape. This will be the topmost section of the tree!
Step 2: Begin connecting the ends from the left-hand side.
It’s time to connect both the ends. Draw an uneven, frill-like design, as shown in the illustration, from the left end towards the centre.
Step 3: Do the same from the right-hand side.
Draw the same uneven, frill-like design from the right side towards the centre, connecting the open ends of the inverted ‘V’ shape.
Step 4: Draw a similar, mid-section of the tree.
Draw a similar, but larger shape, right under the first one. This forms the mid-section of the tree.
Step 5: Draw another similar, yet larger shape.
Draw the last similar, yet larger shape under the previous section, to finish the basic outline. You’re almost done! Can you see your tree coming together?
Step 6: Draw the trunk of the tree.
For the base of the tree, draw two lines curving away from each other and connect them, as seen in the image.
Step 7: Draw some lights on the tree.
Draw two lines across each section, as shown in the illustration. These will become the lights!
Step 8: Decoration Time!
What tree is complete without a star? Draw a star at the top of the tree! Add circles at the ends of each section for the decorations.
Step 9: Add some finishing touches.
Draw circles in the empty spaces of each section, as seen in the illustration. Your tree is now drawn and ready to be coloured in!
Step 10: Bring out the colours!
Its time for the most fun step. Let your kids use their creativity and colour each part of the tree. They can use the illustration as a reference as well!
10 simple steps later, there you have it! A colourful Christmas tree, drawn from scratch by your kids! With some practice, they’ll learn how to draw their own variations and use their creativity. This is also a fun activity at any Christmas party for kids! The perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit, isn’t it?

10 Must Haves You Wished You Knew Before Your Delivery
Hey Mommies!First of all, many many congratulations for becoming a new mom! You are about to embark on the most beautiful, super-busy yet enjoyable and life-changing journey. When I was expecting my cute little one, I had several questions in my mind and I used to spend hours surfing through the internet. How I wished all relevant information to be collated and present at one place to make my life easier! So here I go, jotting down all that you would need based on my experience of 1 year, in this article and I bet if you can follow this and save a lot of mess!Diapers: This is the first and foremost thing which comes to our mind when we think of babies. Isn’t it? And, many of our relatives ask us to not use any diaper as it would cause n number of problems. Well, that’s a myth! No such evidence exists to prove it. In fact, diapers can be used every time but with some precautions. Firstly, before putting them on, you should either apply coconut oil on baby’s skin or a good diaper rash cream (the ones which have zinc oxide are recommended). Don’t put the diaper on a wet skin as it would certainly cause rashes. Wait for the skin to get dried up and then apply the cream and then the diaper. Secondly, diapers should be changed every 3–4 hours. I would highly recommend Pampers. They offer various types- Premium Soft Pants, Baby dry, Active Baby etc. Do check all of them out, and use the ones you find most suitable for your baby. I found Active Baby Side Taped Diapers most comfortable for my baby. Also, I would recomment B4 Nappi Rash Cream, I have been using it since a year now :)Baby Wipes: Use baby wipes to clean poops, especially in the initial days, but which one to use is most important. Make sure you don’t buy those scented ones. They are filled with chemicals and are quite irritating for baby’s skin. Instead opt for water based unscented wipes. I initially used Luvlap Baby wipes, but they were quite thin, chemical based and not comfortable for my baby. Then I switched to Mother Sparsh wipes and have been using over a year now. They are very thick in nature, and give the feeling of wet cotton cloth. Swaddle blankets: Swaddling newborns gives them warmth and coziness and they feel as if they are in the womb. Swaddling is essential for a comfortable nap. I used muslin swaddle for my baby. At least buy 4–5 of them, they are useful in winters as well as summers. And, since they are quite long, they can be used for more than a year.Dry sheet: Dry sheets are required if you want to avoid any mess seeping into your bedsheet and mattress. They are easily available onlineMittens, Booties and caps: Newborns, especially preemies, require mittens, botties and caps in order to maintain their body temperature and to feel warmth. FirstCry offers good range covering various sizes and varieties. Do check that out!Clothes: Check out FirstCry app for clothes too! They offer good brands and all sizes.Nursing pads and breast pump: Nursing pads are the must! You wouldn’t want leaking breasts and trap moisture against your skin. Lansinoh pads are the most used worldwide. I used Luvlap ones, they aren’t that expensive and are good absorbents. Thermometer: Do buy a baby thermometer if you don’t have already, will be quite useful especially during certain vaccinations.Cosmetics: There are quite a lot of brands out there. Cetaphil, Sebamed are the most common ones across the world. I would recommend Sebamed since I used only their products throughout. In addition, I would recommend buying different types of massage oils, as it’s more effective for the baby. I used Cold Pressed Virgin Almond Oil by Forest Essentials, Parachute Coconut Oil, and Figaro Extra Virgin Olive Oil.Bib/Burp cloth: Bibs and Burp cloth are extremely important if you want to avoid changing your baby’s clothes every now and then! Do checkout FirstCry for these.I do hope that this article is very helpful for you and saves you a lot of time!PS: All of the above product/website recommendations are solely based on my experience. Feel free to explore other alternatives as you like. Read more

Tips to Help You Prioritise YOUR Well-being This Year
The fact that this article caught your attention means that you probably find yourself looking at the mirror every morning looking all disheveled and exhausted because you spent all morning running behind your child just so they could finish their milk.
Parenting is hard, but it’s time to stop being hard on yourself. Yes, you still have to think what you should pack for lunch for your kid the next morning, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t think of how you could be fitter this coming year, or how you could wear some actual makeup and not those dark circles once in a while. We are at the brink of this year and you’ve probably spent all of it questioning yourself, “Am I doing the right thing by letting my little one have chocolate, what if he gets cavities?” You too were a kid and you too had lollipops every once in a while, but you grew up just fine. In 2019, put yourself in your child’s teeny tiny shoes and bring out the child in you. Be a little selfish this year, be your own best friend and invest time in creating a better version of yourself. In the end, taking care of yourself is a part of taking care of your kids.
Just as you read Benjamin Spock’s Baby and Child Care so that you could be the best version of a parent for your child, consider these pointers as guidelines to be the best version of yourself so that you can find yourself this new year.
To feel better on the outside, you need to first feel better on the inside. Kickstart your mornings by having a glass of lemon water with honey or by having a handful of almonds. Get rid of those built-up toxins so that you can take on your day with a more positive outlook.
Were you a fitness fanatic when you were a twenty something and going for a run was your 'thing'. Well, it doesn’t have to change. When your kid is fast asleep or has already left for school, slip into those joggers and trainers, plug in your earphones blasting with your favourite song and run, ‘ run for your life’!
Invest 30 minutes of your day on yourself, get a fancy yoga mat with vibrant, happy colours and meditate. Remember, that half an hour is just yours. Don’t think about how your kid is still playing outside and needs to do his homework. Rather, think about happy things, about how you look great in that new dress that you bought last week.
Quick tip : Get a wind chime and concentrate on the tinkling sound while you meditate.
Cook your favourite dish once or twice a week. After all, a happy heart and a happy stomach is all it takes.
Indulge yourself occasionally by buying a bag or dress that you loved online. Once a month, ask your partner to stay at home instead and go for a spa day. Self- pampering is necessary and you deserve to give yourself a treat once in a while.
Enroll yourself to a Zumba or Aerobics session and dance your heart out. This way you’ll learn something new, make some new friends and also burn some calories. Win- win!
Fun- fact: Your brain releases a chemical called serotonin which are also known as ‘ happy hormones’ when you dance.
Go out on a movie or dinner date once a month. Don’t forget that you still need some couple time even though you are parents. A evening of laughing together and reliving your old times will not only make you happy but also help you in being better parents. You can’t pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first.
As you step into the New Year, make a promise to yourself, a promise to bring out the child in you while you care for your own. When your kid watches Tom and Jerry, sit and watch with them, laugh a little, paint with them, relive your own childhood with them. In the end, you owe yourself the love that you so generously shower on your kids every minute of their lives.Happy Parenting!

A. yes
whenever you give any new food to the child you have to take care of two things.
you should give in small quantity. if the child doesn't develop any digestion problem in next 24 hours to 48 hours and the child is able to digest that food then that food can be given again.
but if the child is not able to digestc or there is some problem with vomiting or loose motion or colic pain then kindly avoid that food.
we wait for 2 to 3 days to confirm whether the child is having any problem to that particular food or not
