10 Best Baby Laundry Tips for Parents
Babies clothes may be little but with all the spit-up, drool, poop, pee and meal-time mess, they can go through anywhere between 2 to 5 outfits per day! These stains are not just reserved for clothes alone. You will find them on crib mattresses and sheets, burp cloths, towels, soft toys and on your own clothes too! Now, close your eyes and mentally think of that laundry pile. Pre-parent days, laundry could easily be reserved for weekends but post-baby, laundry days are almost every day!
So, let’s find out how you can begin your journey of transforming from a regular-once-a-week laundry doer to an everyday super-parent with some effective laundry tips.
Baby Laundry Tips for Parents
1. Pick the right detergent
Babies have sensitive skin and most times that means that your regular detergent may be too harsh and may harbour chemicals you do not want near your baby. Find a detergent specially formulated for baby clothes that is scent-free, colour free and gentle.
2. Wash new clothes before you make your baby wear them
It is very important to wash any new clothes you buy or receive as gifts for your baby because they may carry infectants from the manufacturing factories or may have germs from the store they were in. While clothes may look new and clean, by sheer virtue of them being in a store and handled by various people, they are likely to attract and retain dust and germs which can irritate baby’s skin.
3. Invest in the right aids
Invest in a mesh bag for socks, bonnets and other items that are so tiny that they keep going missing. Socks can easily crawl into a sleeve of a shirt or up a pant trouser in the washing machine so mesh bags keep them all in one place.
4. Pick the right fabric softener
In the past, fabric conditioners and softeners were avoided for babies but now with better and specialised baby-friendly softeners available, you can make sure that the clothes you dress your baby in will not chafe against your little one’s delicate skin. Fabric conditioners soften the cloth fibers, making baby clothes more comfortable. No more, scratchy, irritable materials for your little angel. Just make sure to pick one that is mild and gentle, and you’re good to go!
5. Spot clean immediately
For sudden accidents, spot clean a stain with baby wipes. Keep a pack of baby wipes in every room and in your car too. Treating a stain immediately can prevent it from setting into the cloth fibers and becoming a stubborn stain that will require a lot of scrubbing later.
6. Do not use bleach on baby’s clothes
A stain on an immaculate white one may have you reaching for that bottle of bleach but don’t do that! Bleach is a harsh chemical which can cause skin rashes in babies.
7. Keep baby’s laundry separate from the rest of the family
For the same reason as using a mild detergent for babies, baby laundry needs to be separated. Adult detergents may contain chemicals that baby skin cannot handle and it is best to steer clear from them. Sure, washing separately may be tiresome but you’d rather not expose your baby to these chemicals!
8. Follow instructions on the clothes tag
While it may be tempting to toss all clothes into your washing machine, remember to read labels first. Baby clothes are mostly cotton, cotton blends, and fleece and have specific washing instructions, some of which need different methods of washing.
9. Spray off crusty stains
Being a parent will mean that you will at some point have to wash poop off your baby’s clothes, which will often dry up to leave an unpleasant crusty mess on clothes. To avoid contaminating the rest of your laundry pile, you will have to wash it off first.
10. Clean cloth diapers separately
If you’ve chosen the cloth diapering route, make sure you invest in a diaper bin so that you can clean them all at once. However, use the above tip and spray off or rinse the poop or pee off before tossing into the diaper bin.
Now, with your laundry game sorted out, you will have more time for baby bonding and some precious extra moments of sleep (subject to your baby’s moods and the next big stain, of course!)

7 Sex Secrets you Need to Know (and try!)
Intimacy can help keep your marriage absolutely fantastic, especially if you know the seven key secrets to good sex. Make the most out of these easy yet exciting ideas and rediscover the magic that is lovemaking. You won't want to leave the bedroom!
Sex is one of those delightful games where both players need to play an active role. It's not fair if hubby's the only one in seventh heaven or if it's only you who's on cloud nine. If you're looking to spice things up in the bedroom but have run out of ideas, the seven secrets to great sex will put you and your partner on the moon!
Secrets to Awesome Sex You Just Need to Know
1. Talk, Cuddle, and Kiss
Going straight to sex doesn't do much for the experience. The occasional quickie may be okay but the rest of the time, you want sex that leaves the two of you wholly satisfied. If you like talking and cuddling before sex, let your partner know. He'll appreciate it and will learn to enjoy speaking sweet nothings into your ear and cosying up before making love.
2. Let Out Your Playful Side
Sex doesn't need you to be serious. Instead, it should include playful activities with your partner to slowly build up the momentum. Couples, especially those pressed for time with the kids always in need of something, often forget to laugh, tease and talk dirty before and during sex. If you and hubby are guilty of this, you need to spice up your lovemaking with playful bites, nibbles and tickles.
3. Try to Have Stress-Free Days
If you have had a bad day, chances are you won't quite be in the mood for sex. And if you and hubby have had a nasty quarrel, makeup sex may not be all that great either. You need to build up to the moment and this includes not just cuddles and foreplay, but also making each other feel good in other ways. You can start by avoiding harsh words, criticism and taking out frustration on each other. The better your day, the more enjoyable the sex will be!
4. Talk and Snuggle Up after Sex
Many women complain that their partners fall asleep after having sex. The good news is that it has nothing to do with you and more to do with biology and tiredness. According to research, men release chemicals in the brain during ejaculation that causes them to feel sleepy. Women can experience it too but not usually to the extent men do. Tell your husband you don't like him nodding off after sex and he will surely try not to doze off so quickly.
5. Share Fantasies
Sex and fantasies go hand-in-hand. In fact, sharing your fantasies can perk up your sex life in a jiffy. Tell your man what turns you on and if you're in the mood for a little role play. Maybe you'd like him to dress up in uniform or maybe he's yearning for you to enact a little scene from a movie. Whatever it is, sharing fantasies can make sex a lot more interesting and memorable.
6. Your Lingerie Plays a Vital Role
Most women overlook the importance of sexy lingerie. You may not be in the mood to go all-out for sex, but you can set the stage for intimacy. Sexy lingerie with gorgeous lace, bits of satin and cute bows can wow your man and compel him to be more playful during sex.
7. Soft Music is a Catalyst
Soft, romantic music can act as a catalyst to get the two of you in the mood. Put on a mix of romantic sexy numbers and continue playing it while you're making love. You can also use music to enact a seductive dance or to complement a role-playing fantasy.
Lovemaking is ultimately a form of expression and letting each other know what you want is essential for bedroom magic. With these seven sex secrets revealed, sex just got hotter! Why not use one or all of these secrets to better sex tonight and get naughty under the sheets? Read more

Yummy, Easy and Creative Chocolate Balloon Baskets Recipe for Kids
Vacations are on, and kids must be around all day long, demanding something new every day. Their howls and spunks can be suppressed by some sweet in their mouths.
Also, desserts steal kids' hearts! And, if it is anything with chocolate, and munchies are half-bowled, we will get the "Yummy Mummy" crown.
My today's recipe is exciting and easy.
We will require
Dark chocolate - 4 Bars
Ice-cream- 250 ml
Vegetable oil- 2 tbsp
Sprinkles- For decoration
Balloons- 4-5 in number
What to do
Melt chocolate by using the double boiler method.
The double boiler method requires you to fill a large vessel with water and put it on the gas. Put another container (definitely smaller than the initial one so that it fits in the larger one and water from vessel doesn't come in the bowl). Put dark chocolate bars in the smaller container and allow it to melt.
Bring down the melted chocolate and take out one spoon of it and put it in a dish plate in circular shape.
Now, apply some vegetable oil to all the balloons using a brush and then rotate the balloons in the bowl of chocolate so that chocolate covers the lower part of the balloon. After the balloons are covered with chocolate, put it on the plate (in which we kept a spoon of chocolate in a circular shape).
Now, transfer the dishes to the refrigerator. How beautiful they look!
Allow to refrigerate them for some time (it varies from cooling capacities of different refrigerators).
Now, bring out the dishes. Prick the balloons using a sharp thing like a safety pin or a toothpick. Beautiful chocolate baskets are ready. Scoop out ice cream and put it in these baskets. Garnish with sprinkles.
Your chocolate balloon baskets are ready! Let kids relish the dish, and we move back to some chores until they finish their sweet treat.

How important is instilling Gratitude in children? What are its benefits?
Gratitude is taking some time out to appreciate the things that we usually take for granted like the roof on our heads, food, water, electricity, family, friends and in times of Pandemic, computer access.
Gratitude is to be able to say "Thank you" when someone does something nice for you. Cicero once said "Gratitude is not only the greatest virtues but the parent of all others". Gratitude gives us hope that there is still goodness in this world.
Gratitude has lots of benefits for the mental and the physical health of the child. It brings about higher levels of happiness and optimism. It improves sleeping habits and reduces stress in life. It leads to an increase in self esteem. They are also able to distinguish between their needs and wants. They have improved relationships and better socially connected.
Some activities that can be tried with kids so that they are able to practice gratitude in daily life. The more they practice, the more they become good at it.
A) Be a good role model yourself: Thank and appreciate your kids for jobs well done like cleaning their rooms, helping you in folding clothes, cheering you up in your moments of sadness, helping their sibling etc. Show your kids that you are kind, giving, helping and appreciative of your loved ones. Our children imitate us so give them something great to imitate.
B) Random Acts of Kindness: Just be kind without thinking much. Involve in kindness acts together. Making a card for grandparents, delivering flowers to the sick, giving food and clothes to the ones in need, giving food and water to the birds and animals. This helps the kids to think positively and they might also develop great social connections in the process.
C) Keep a gratitude journal: It is an amazing gratitude habit for older children who can write. On a daily basis, kids should jot down the things that they are grateful for. This will be really helpful during their difficult days when we focus only on bad memories and bad thoughts and forget about the good ones. It also helps them to reflect on their journey so far.
D) Focus away from negative towards positive: Kids should try to find positivity in every situation. For example, rather than thinking that they are stuck at home in this pandemic, they should be thankful that they get to be with their family, they are getting to know more about themselves, they are developing new hobbies etc. They should be thankful for these opportunities.
E) Volunteering: Once the Pandemic is over, try involving the older kids in volunteering activities where they can be a part of a service organisation and learn about their work of operation.
Teaching gratitude will help children grow up to be empathetic, kind and caring adults. Read more

Fairytales, Folktales and Aesop's Fables - How do they differ?
We all are fans of bedtime stories. We always love to hear stories of magical and mythical creatures. My daughter loves listening to stories of witches, princesses and fairy godmothers. So what is a folktale, a fairytale and an Aesop's fables?
Folk Tales:
Folk tales are traditional. These kind of stories have been orally passed from one generation to another. They do not have an author. They are anonymous. These stories can have added or subtracted elements as they are being told and retold from the perspective of a particular teller. Folk tales are usually centered on commoners' day to day life and they are based on cultural practices of a folk tales' origin. The characters are usually humans, animals and supernatural creatures. In folktales, there is a conflict between the characters like human Vs nature or human Vs human. These conflicts are actively resolved. Folk tales reflect real life events. These stories may or may not have a moral.
The Pied Piper of Hamelin is a folktale.
Fairy Tales:
Fairy tales are made up and they are works of fiction. So fairy tales definitely have an author. They have magical creatures such as dragons, witches or fairies. The conflict between characters take the form of human Vs magic and thus can only be resolved by magic. In fairy tales, the major characters are the victims and they are subject to sufferings which are usually resolved with the help of minor characters like fairies and other mythical beings. These stories are usually more inclined towards aristocracy. These stories do not have a moral.
Cinderella, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs are few examples.
Aesop's Fables:
Aesop's Fables are short traditional narratives always with a moral. They have mainly animal characters who speak and act like human beings. They may or may not have an author.
The Oak Tree and the Woodcutter is one of the examples.
Fairy Tales teach us lessons like "Never give up", "Follow your dreams" and "Dreams come true".
Folk Tales teach us lessons like "Honesty is the best policy", "Hard work pays off" and "Be true to yourself".
Fables teach us lessons like "Do not be greedy", "Always be happy with what you have" and "Never cheat". Read more
