A woman can eat ice cream while she is pregnant as long as she eats it in moderate amounts. Yes, you can enjoy your favourite flavour of ice cream as long as you make sure that it is made in hygienic conditions. You can safely give in to these cravings once in a while. Better yet, avoid it if you are pregnant.

A 100 gm serving of vanilla ice cream has about 47% fats, of which 70% is saturated or undesirable fat, almost 42% carbohydrates and about 6-7% proteins as its major constituents. Calorie-wise, a typical 100 gm scoop delivers 207 calories. Nowadays, healthier versions of ice cream are also available. You can buy low fat, sugar-free, and yogurt-based ‘light ice cream’. Ice cream can also provide you with vitamins like Vitamin A and Vitamin B12 in moderate amounts. Although the amount of caffeine present in them is almost negligible, you should refrain from eating too much, if you opt for one of these flavours.
Potential Side Effects of Eating Ice Cream While Pregnant
Too much of anything is bad, you know that. So the same goes for ice cream. Eating too much ice cream can lead to the following complications.
1. Infections
You may contract certain infections from ice cream, such as listeria since this bacteria is viable at extremely low temperatures. You may also contract infections if the milk used to make ice cream is unpasteurised. These infections contracted during pregnancy may affect placental growth, amniotic fluid, and cause birth-time congenital infections in the baby. These may also be responsible for premature delivery, stillbirth, and miscarriage.

Myths Related to Eating Ice Cream During Pregnancy
Besides the benefits and risks of ice cream in pregnancy, there are certain misconceptions related to it as well, for example, it is believed that eating ice cream, which is cold or chilled, can affect the baby’s brain. No scientific data or studies are available to establish this fact. Cold cannot affect the foetus unless your diet and lifestyle are dominated by detrimental cold weather and foods.
Things to Keep in Mind While Eating Ice Cream During Pregnancy
By now you absolutely know that ice cream is not a safe choice during pregnancy as it can lead to potential risks, however, you can still eat it once in a while as long as you make sure it is made following the standard hygiene practices. Tick these points while choosing an ice cream, and enjoy!
1. Check if the ice cream you want to eat is made from pasteurised milk. If yes, then enjoy without worrying.
2. Buy ice cream of a well-known brand and from a reputed shop that follows standard hygiene practices.
3. Avoid eating ice cream sold by street vendors and in fairs as the hygiene and sanitation at such places may be questionable. Remember that bacteria can grow even in ice cream kept in the freezer.
4. If you want to make healthier choices, we suggest that you go to eat ‘low-fat’ or ‘light’ ice cream which is available in abundance nowadays. You can buy frozen yoghurt ice cream, for example.
While pregnant, try and eat as much healthy as you can. However, a healthy diet that comprises of nutritious foods does not mean you can’t give in to your cravings and enjoy a scoop of ice cream once in a while. Adhere to precautions such as hygiene, quantity consumed, and early recognition of any problems with timely medical consultation. Eating ice cream can take you away from the stress of pregnancy. Enjoy it, but just keep an eye on the amount you are having. Read more

Laugh With All Your Heart and Make Your Kids Smart!!
It was such a beautiful winter morning! As it was Sunday and my daughter was sleeping peacefully, I had some time to read the morning newspaper (which has become a rare thing these days). There was one article that caught my eye and I was shocked after reading the headline! They claimed that laughing can cause skin lines and wrinkles, so avoid excessive smiling and laughing and keep your face neutral to get a beautiful, wrinkle-free face.
Am I really going to do that? Of course NOT! I am totally fine with a face full of wrinkles, but I cannot stop laughing daily!
I always seek the company of family and friends who laugh their hearts out without any inhibitions. We laugh till our tummies ache and eyes start watering! And really, what a precious feeling that is! It makes our day special!
After the birth of my daughter, our days are filled with more joy and laughter than ever.
The day begins with her bath time which is so much fun, she takes all her bath toys with her, then enjoys playing in the water like anything. It's more than enough to kick-start a day happily:)
Then her mealtimes, pretend plays, peek a boo, running around, talking attempts are so engaging and hilarious, it feels like it should never end!
She loves wearing new dresses, playing with new toys these days so shopping for her has also become a great fun for us. Everything revolves around her.
Eventually, as we are becoming more mature as parents, we have learnt to be patient and accept the mistakes. We laugh at their so-called serious issues and always keep our work and personal life separate. We are able to maintain healthy and happy relationships at home. Of course, there are differences of opinions occasionally but those are discussed calmly and resolved.
Having a kid at home surely changes a lot of things in a positive way.
Anyway, the newspaper article left me wondering whether people are really restricting laughing either knowingly or just out of a habit.
Some have a habit of just giving a small smile, they don't find the things funny easily, while some are always so busy in their work that they rarely get time to even smile. A few just put some smiling emojis and lols in the text messages without meaning a thing! Also, there are a few who carry the picture perfect smile just for the camera!
If you are one of those people, it's time to exchange a few real smiles and laughs! Remember that kids tend to imitate!
For the kid's development, laughter and smiles play a key role.
Laughing provides happiness, light and friendly environment, relieves sleep, anxiety and appetite problems, helps in overall well being and stress management. Kids who laugh a lot and get back a smile from others are always more social, friendly and happy go lucky types. They are more likely to perform better in schools, various competitions and will be able to look at the things in a more positive way In future.
So it's important that we begin laughter from our own families, spread the smiles and let those beautiful dimples and thirty-two white pearls shine in the bright sun!
Wear those laughing lines and wrinkles on your face, if any, proudly!

Every Mother's Love is Magical
Nowadays our calendars depict our busy schedules, and the watches on our hands are running very fast. Let's stop for a moment to think about our childhood, and most importantly, our mother!Warm, fuzzy memories are great. They usually bring a smile on our face and make our hearts sing with joy! We often get a good feeling when we think about our friends, but it is nothing compared to the amazing feeling we experience when we think about our mom. She is our best friend, someone who has been there for us since we started our life in the womb. She is our mentor and best friend. It is incredible how she loves us, gives importance to every bit of our life, looks after every step we plan to take, and how she supports us even during our hard times. For sure, she knows about everything that makes us happy and also knows the value of every tear we shed. I am inspired by the way she holds our hand to protect us during every phase of our life. If you ever seek unconditional love, only a mother can provide you with it. With all our hearts, we are saying that no one could replace you, mom. We have nothing that can repay all that you have done for us. All that we have and want to give you is our eternal love.I'm writing this after becoming a mom because this is when I realise how much our mothers loved us. How much pain our mothers went through to bring us into this world and how many sacrifices they made to give us happiness. Really, our mothers are God's greatest blessing to us!
So friends, love your mom and respect her.
Wholeheartedly, I want to thank every mom for putting us on the right path in life. Thank you!
