Answering The ‘Where do Babies Come from’ Question
Responsibly answering questions about the origin of babies is extremely important in your role as a caregiver or a parent. Being prepared from the time your little one begins understanding interactions with the world around is extremely imperative, since you can never be sure when the question will pop.
By the time your little one is six-seven years old, you can rest assured that thoughts of babies, love, and kissing would have started revolving in his little head. So, be prepared to answer some tough questions in the days and months to come.
Wait Until Asked
Not all children are inquisitive about babies and sex by the age of six and seven. At this age, you are still her role model, and any questions or doubts in her mind will be directed to you for clarification. So, until asked – relax. She probably hasn’t thought of it yet, or it hasn’t raised a question in her mind. And this probably means she isn’t ready for this discussion yet.
Understand The Question Well
Do not make the mistake that most of us make – that is to pre-empt the question. Let your child clearly explain what she wants to know or the question in her mind. Ask questions, that you feel will allow her to explain clearly, as she may not know the right way to explain a thought as new as this.
If we jump into an explanation regardless of the question, chances are we might explain something very different from what she had in mind.
Tell in a Story Format
There are several formats you may use to explain this topic to your child – a story-telling format being one of them. You may divide your story into three parts – the beginning, the middle and the end. It can begin with mommy and daddy falling in love and creating the child. This may be followed by how the baby grew inside mummy’s tummy and then finally, her arriving in the world as a baby. This makes the process a lot more real and acceptable for the child rather than just a biological process.
Use Scientific Names for Body Parts
When explaining the concept of babies being born, at the appropriate age, explain the process to your little one, by using the correct names of body parts to the child. This makes them look at it objectively. Using terms such as wee-wee or pee-pee for private parts can confuse them when some smart child in school takes it on themselves to explain matters to the kids around.
Be Matter-of-fact
Ensure that you do not appear embarrassed or uncomfortable when discussing the topic with your child. Children being intuitive by nature; will pick up the feelings from you. This will clamp them up from coming back to you in future. Also, it creates all kinds of notions in their mind about the topic – some that are not necessarily correct. If you need time to come to terms with the question and answer it appropriately, let the child know that you will come back to him. Do not forget to discuss it with him at the soonest thereafter.

Children are inquisitive by nature, and a very generic instance can trigger a very random question. The best you can do is to be prepared at all times and run with all the scenarios – beginning with the worst case. All the best! Read more

6 Unexpected Surprises of Motherhood You're Sure to Love - #MothersDaySpecial
While all moms have different experiences, there is one thing that everyone agrees with – they were completely surprised by motherhood. Motherhood brings with it daily surprises – some good, some unpleasant, but all memorable. No amount of reading or expert opinion can ever prepare you for the real deal.
If there is one thing common between all going-to-be moms, it is that they spend hours researching everything under the sun to prepare them for motherhood. No page is left unturned in their quest to be completely prepared for the changes that a baby will bring. But interestingly, there are still plenty of revelations that nature has in store for you! At the end of the day, whether you have read up or not, you will end up being surprised by motherhood.
Things You Never Knew about Motherhood
1. “Teat”ING issues
Breastfeeding is a natural phenomenon and young moms are prepared to nurse their babies for as long as possible. However, what they are not prepared for are the initial few days when it is painful, stressful, and all in all an anxious experience. The good news is that this is one thing where practice does make perfect.
2. Waste not, want not
It doesn’t matter what your personal philosophy is on the “waste” situation. The fact is that most of the clothes that you buy for your newborn will probably end up being too small too soon. Babies tend to grow up really fast in the initial few days and the chances of you getting them to wear every outfit they have are pretty slim.
3. Smelly affair
One of the biggest surprises of being a mom is to see how big a mess your cute little bundle can create with that tiny body! From puke to smelly gas, your baby will train you for things you never thought you'd have to deal with. They will try your patience, but you'll succumb to the charms of your tot and turn a blind eye to all that waste! The only word of advice here is this - to be forewarned is to be forearmed!
4. A fine balance
You might have worked out your schedule for joining work after delivery. What you probably didn’t work out was that you might end up facing separation anxiety even more than the baby does! Setting up a proper childcare system is sure to take the edge off a little.
5. Lactation issues
You might think that you know all about what to expect after delivery, but you may be unpleasantly surprised while dealing with lactation. It is difficult to figure out the precise triggers for the milk flow. Unless you are armed with an extra supply of breast pads, be prepared to deal with a messy situation.
6. Deciphering the cries
Did you always think that a mother instinctively understands what her child wants? Well, here's the surprise! In the initial few months, you will be driving yourself crazy trying to decode your baby’s cries. Does he need food, sleep, or is he feeling unwell - these are a few questions you'll be juggling with each time your child cries. However, the good news is that this quandary will diminish with time.
Motherhood is a roller-coaster ride where the ups are definitely more than the downs. However, you have to take each day as it comes. There will be surprises along the way, but hey, both of you are learning together! Read more

Adding to this I AM A DOCTOR myself ,insted of consoling myself I made it really scary at the start..and special attraction was COVID
That doubled my tension up as there was no medicines thn for pregnant women..
Lock down,sanitisation,....😔😔 But still keeping my confidence high for HOPE growing inside me n support n love from my husband n my parents n my doctor I made it till 7 month..
But whhn I was about to enter 8 mon..my last scan showed I had decreased liquior..it was expected due to my meds..n doctor said to be under observation for few days..n had a scan after two days as I doubted liquor leak..n it showed severe decrease in liquor..n an c section was planned immediately...following surgery..n I delivered a cute little baby girl my hope my life HRITIKA..
U may ask what's there in this..it's very common..but those few days from scan to surgery n post op was the most difficult time of my life.. from surgery to my bp fluctations n added to this premature delivery( 34 weeks) with my girl geting admitted to nicu..suffered neonatal jaundice thrice..n slowly building her to a healthy baby like every other kid...Yes it was tough , scary , by my hope never died ...since I hav birth to my hope , my confidence ,my baby girl HRITIKA..seeing her daily makes my hope double forgetting everything...moving forward
Being a doctor u may think it is silly to get afraid as u all know everything ,,treatment,,remedy,,
But let me tell this ...
if we know about living n geting out from danger,,we even know about non treatable complication n death..
That makes mind of doctor scary..
Finally..never let hope die..😊😊
