Your 10 Week Old Baby - Development, Milestones & Care
Seeing your baby right when he was born, and comparing it to the 10 week old version of him, will be quite a far cry from what he was earlier. With increased movements, all those loud sounds, a curiosity that knows no bounds, your child at 10 weeks old is a bundle of energy and experimentation all wrapped together in the most adorable form.
10 Week Old Baby Development
By the time the age is 10 week old, the baby's weight will have gone up considerably and you might have even opted to purchase his clothes at a size more than usual.
After an entire phase of extended wakefulness, around this age, you might notice that your loved one seems to spend comparatively longer times in napping or sleeping deeply. These could even be as long as 4-5 hours at a time, making you sigh with a relief. Since they are getting quite some rest, it is even more important to ensure that the supervised tummy times are longer and are done diligently to ensure continued development of the upper body strength. If he gets bored, you can lie down too and bring your head to the same level as his. This will make him interested in trying to move closer to you. At times, when they try really hard to keep themselves up, babies might get tired and end up with their face down in the bed. Do make sure you help him roll over and lie on his back.

Ten Week Old Baby Milestones
As the supervised tummy time develops, it is essential that you take note of how the strength of his arms and his chest starts developing as well. If your baby can already hold their head pretty good, you can slightly push their legs as well, so as to nudge them for a crawl. They will not be able to crawl right at this stage but the nudge will unconsciously trigger them to remember how to do it. A few minutes of such exercises every day should be gradually ramped up to a cumulative time of around half an hour throughout the entire day.
Along with the upper body strength, it is necessary to note and check if their legs are getting strong, too. Since most of their time is either lying on their back or on their tummy, the legs do not get a chance to bear their weight. By the age of around 10 weeks, the legs have started garnering a good amount of strength. You can gently hold your baby by his body and see if he can hold some weight on his legs. It could even get the baby excited as well and he will start hammering away his feet on the bed. Do try this out only if your baby is in a good mood since the entire act can easily get quite taxing on the little one.

Feeding
Given the increased weight and appetite of your child, you might be fluctuating between breastfeeding and bottle feeding, if the breastfeeding does not suffice. A lot of time is invested in ensuring that your baby is well-fed and satisfied. If you’d like to start returning back to your normal life, it is great if you can learn to breastfeed your baby anywhere at any point in time. It sure can get awkward for a few mothers but it is important to break away from that mentality if you are to start living your life again. Majorly, once you have the confidence of feeding well and have mastered a position and the tact of feeding quickly, this shouldn’t be a problem. Even if not, it is best to keep trying so that it benefits both you and the baby.

Sleeping
For a 10 week old baby, the sleep patterns and sleeping styles now tend to fall into the realm of predictability. A slight schedule begins to emerge as your child will now fall asleep at those specific times without fail. If your baby tends to wake up early in the night or mornings, the first feed of the day could make him fall asleep almost immediately after the feeding is complete. At other times, the first feed and a nice bath could energise the baby and keep him happy and excited in the mornings. One of the key problems faced by nearly all mothers is putting their babies to sleep during the afternoons. Desperate to catch a small nap themselves, mothers have tried all techniques to induce sleep in their children. At times, your child may fall asleep but only after you have cuddled him, or walked around with him, or played for some time and then he gets bored.

Behaviour
The energy and excitement of your baby are even more than before when he is awake. Reaching for everything that he can, making a lot of sounds, being able to keep his head upright when on the tummy, makes him realize too that he is growing up. By trying to help them bear their weight on the legs, this could further get them happy and look at it as another fun-filled game. If their legs are strong, you can simply hold their hands and let them balance on them for a moment or two, before they fall down on their soft bed.
Along with making cooing sounds and grunting with you, your baby will start using his saliva in funny ways. Blowing raspberries starts becoming a natural activity that keeps your baby occupied by himself. An increased visibility of drool and saliva might make you wonder if the teeth are about to erupt. However, that isn’t the case and your baby is simply having the most fun that he can have.
Crying
Crying, yes. Crying can get out of hand at this age since it will come in all sorts of varieties. After putting your little one to sleep, you might hear small little cries that are signs of him failing to sleep deeply. If he wakes up in the middle of the night with an empty stomach, the wail that ensues can wake up every person in your household. If you are done playing with your child and leave him alone by himself for a moment, he will cry out differently to get your attention and make you come back to him. All these cries are different and can be recognized over time.
With any kind of cry, it is important to respond to it as soon as possible or risk letting it build up to a longer crying routine. After all, crying is the only way your child can successfully communicate his needs to you.
10 Week Old Baby Care Tips
Appropriate feeding at the right times in the right amounts.
Taking note of the different styles of crying and making sure they are attended to as fast as possible.
Keeping a track of your baby’s schedule and understanding what he might need before he asks for it.
Playing with your baby and taking him outside to a park or a nearby garden for some calm time..

Tests And Vaccinations
If all the important vaccines of the 8th week such as PCV, rotavirus, and others have been administered successfully, then there are no vaccinations to be undertaken at this stage.
Games And Activities
At 10 weeks, your baby has grown some strength within himself and has begun to understand 3D space and movement around him. You can take advantage of this and help him fly in the air in the most exciting manner possible. Lie down on the floor and hold your baby firmly in your hands. Use your thighs as a support for your baby as he lies down on them. Then, with your hands along his side to keep him steady, gently raise your legs in the air and make your baby fly. Make exciting sounds and look at him with excitement. Chances are your baby will love it and begin giggling. Certain babies can get extremely scared and start crying. And that’s really unfortunate because this activity is a lot of fun and an exercise for you, too.
Since their eyesight has gotten better too, you can make use of a powerful torch or a shiny piece against sunlight, to cast a reflection on the wall before them. If your baby is lying down, use it to make a reflection on the ceiling and make surprised sounds. Let it appear and disappear occasionally and watch your baby glee in delight.

Consult A Doctor If
Increased interaction with other people might make your baby susceptible to picking up an infection from others. The common ones are cold and cough. In case those happen, try using home remedies to clear the nose. Else, contact the doctor to know if any medication should be administered.
If the infection worsens and your baby seems to be trying to itch his ears, suffering from constipation and has a slight fever, then this could be a sign of something even more severe and requires immediate medical attention.
This entire bundle of joy at a mere 10 weeks old is a sight to behold. The non-stop entertainment combined with an awe of seeing your baby grow from a tiny little newborn child to more than 2 months old can be quite reassuring. Take good care and split activities between your spouse so that you can start making your return to the normal life as well.

Baby Brain Development - How to Support Healthy Brain Growth
A growing baby develops based on a number of criteria and aspects. Their organs develop not just based on genetics but other external aspects like nutrition, environment and exercise. The brain is one of the most complex and mysterious organs in the human body - it develops through experience; it can be nurtured and taught. No two brains perceive any experience in the same way. This is because no two babies are the same. This is why it is important for parents to understand how they can help support their baby’s brain development in a healthy and sustainable manner.
Development of Baby's Brain from Newborn to Infant
The stages of brain development for your baby can be case specific but doctors will have a number of benchmarks to refer to which are based on the average growth of children in their age group. This helps doctors identify any possible delays in growth that may indicate an underlying health or development issue.
Infant brain development can be tracked through milestones such as baby's ability to recognise her parents, wave at familiar people, grasp objects, play with a toy, use a teething ring, etc. All these milestones show the baby’s ability to absorb information, process it and implement it. This information supports brain growth, which further supports the ability to gather and use more information.
How Can Parents Improve Baby's Brain Development?
As a parent it is normal to wonder how to develop baby brain functions in a healthy way. You, as parents, are the only ones who can support the development of your child’s brain over extended periods of time. The most effective way to support their development at infancy is to interact with them and help them interact with their surroundings. This is done through numerous activities and exercises.
Activities That Help You Boost Your Child’s Brain Development
There are numerous ways in which you can support the growth of your baby’s brain through activities:
While holding or playing with your baby, make sure you hold their gaze, look them in the eye and interact with them. This fosters eye contact and development of proper eyesight.
Speak to your child frequently, make sure the tone is soft, and speak slowly. This helps your baby imitate sounds and enables them to mimic mouth movements. This can help them learn to speak.
Be patient, kids can grow at different speeds. Don’t try rushing your child’s development. Don’t use belittling language or call them names out of frustrations, babies can be very attentive and perceive emotions better than adults. This can harm their confidence and delay their development.
When sitting with your child, interact with them as well as their toys, this can help them understand the link between their actions and consequences thereof.
Ensure that you help your baby interact with different surfaces, softly place their palm on smooth glass, stone countertops, carpets, and floors. Guide their palm across these surfaces. This enables them to learn through touch and understand the environment around them.
Let them watch age-appropriate television for a limited time.
Sing to your child. Try involving their surroundings in the songs. This lets them build their audible sensory abilities and lets them recognize various tones.
When in a bath with your baby, play with the water, involve toys like rubber ducks. This will elicit responses from your child like laughter. This also teaches them about various environments and the effects of these environments.
To learn more about what you can do to help your child learn, talk to your paediatric specialist. They can give you other techniques and ways to help your baby grow. Always participate in age-appropriate learning activities. Remember that brain development activities for 1-year-old children are not the same as the brain development activities for an 18-month-old child. Talk to your doctor about any concerns you may have about your child’s development, if they share your concerns, they will evaluate your child more closely before figuring out what the next step should be if any.

Does Coconut Water Help in Managing Diabetes?
Coconut is the fruit of the palm tree or Cocos Nucifera. As an unripe fruit, it is green in colour, and sweet water along with tender coconut-meat is found inside the fruit. As it matures, it turns brown, and the flesh inside too matures and becomes thick. The water in a matured coconut has more fibre and is less sweet than a tender coconut. For long it has been known that the refreshing water from coconuts can be very beneficial to our health. Tender coconut water is an excellent electrolyte that can balance your body after a workout. It is packed with essential micro-nutrients like manganese, zinc, copper, and calcium. It is also rich in iron, potassium, and sodium. It is 94 % water and has very little fat.
Tender coconut water has been prescribed for digestive discomforts like diarrhoea and to treat excessive body heat as well. It has been rejected by people with diabetes over the years, however, because the sweetness in coconut water comes from natural fructose and was thought to spike blood sugar levels immediately. Recent research done has proven that coconut water helps prevent hyperglycaemia. However, it is indicated that a diabetic should limit their intake to less than 200 ml per day. It is because coconut water does contain fructose (15% approximately) which when consumed in excess can definitely alter the blood sugar levels. Let us understand why coconut water for diabetes patients can be a good thing.
How Is Coconut Water Helpful for Diabetes?
We mention in as much detail as possible the co-relation between coconut water and blood sugar and how you can use this refreshing elixir drink to regulate your sugar levels:
1. Coconut Water is Nutrient-dense
Coconut water is packed with micronutrients, minerals, and amino acids. It is rich in vitamin C, Riboflavin, Calcium, and sodium. This makes coconut water perfect for keeping blood sugars from fluctuating very often. Also having a nutrient-rich drink that is low on calories and has a low glycaemic index is beneficial for a person with diabetes or pre-diabetes. It does away with the need to fill up on high-calorie foods to make up for the lack of nutrition in other energy drinks.
2. It Is Low on Carbs and High in Fibre
Although coconut water is composed of natural sugars, the amount of fibres in coconut water are said to be high. Keeping carbohydrate intake at a minimum is beneficial for a person with diabetes, and it is understood that the high fibre content helps keep blood sugar under control in diabetics. A high-fibre diet is one of the key recommendations made by dietitians for better management of blood sugar levels. Type 2 diabetics are encouraged to consume high fibre foods that prevent fat accumulation and reduce the stress on the pancreas.
3. It Can Promote Blood Circulation
Having diabetes can cause constriction of one’s blood vessels. This often leads to other issues like diabetic neuropathy, myopathy, and glaucoma. Even kidney failure is a subsequent possibility due to the weakening of blood vessels. This, however, can be relieved to a certain extent as coconut water is known to improve blood circulation in the human body by widening the vessels. Coconut water has also been credited with reducing atherosclerosis (plaque build-up in arteries).
4. It Helps Weight Management
Gaining fat and body weight around the abdomen region can cause excessive pressure on the pancreas and increase insulin sensitivity. It is imperative to remain active and keep body weight under control to battle diabetic complications. Weight gain from unhealthy food choices can further complicate a diabetic person’s life. Coconut water helps to keep cravings in check as it is filling even though its natural composition is mainly water. The omega-3 fatty acids help in preventing high LDL levels and also help maintain body weight.
5. It Improves Body Metabolism
The electrolytes in the drink can re-hydrate the body and boost metabolism. This can help in burning fat and maintaining sugar levels in people with diabetes. The amount of energy used per activity should be high if one wants to burn more fat.
6.It Has a Low Glycaemic Index
Coconut water and type 2 diabetes have a positive correlation because the drink has a low glycaemic index. It has a GI of 3, and it causes no immediate spike in blood sugar unlike refined flour, and alloxan treated food. Alloxan is a chemical used to bleach flours and is a scientifically proven cause of diabetes in rats. The alkaline nature of coconut water also neutralises excessive stomach acids which are a frequent occurrence in a person with diabetes. Acid reflux issues can be taken care of by drinking coconut water.
7. It Can Reduce Sugar Cravings
We definitely don’t say that coconut water cures diabetes, but it is beneficial for people with diabetes. Coconut water is a very filling and naturally sweet drink. Having a sweet beverage once in a while can reduce cravings for other unhealthy sweets. A cola-based drink or a piece of cake made with refined flour can do so much damage to the body by increasing blood sugar levels. Coconut water, on the other hand, causes no spike in sugar levels and satiates the palate’s need for sugar, too.
8. It is High In Potassium
Potassium is a mineral that is very important for nerve function. As discussed earlier, deteriorating nerve functions are a key marker in diabetes and having potassium-rich foods can reduce this risk. There is caution to be applied only if you have a weakened kidney as too much potassium is potentially harmful to people with kidney complications.
9. It Is Rich in Magnesium
Magnesium has been known to increase insulin sensitivity. This is an indicator of how sensitive the human body is in relation to insulin released by the body. Low sensitivity would mean that one requires higher amounts of insulin to process the same amount of blood sugar as a non-diabetic person.
10. It is Antioxidant-rich
Coconut water is a drink that is loaded with antioxidants. Antioxidants play a crucial role in our body because they stall the ageing process of organs and tissue by scavenging free radicals that damage cells. Oxidation releases these free radicals that are catalytic to ageing. A diabetic person’s body ages much faster than a normal person because higher blood sugars lead to greater oxidative stress. Coconut water is therefore beneficial in scavenging the free radicals in a diabetic and reducing the rapid ageing.
Coconut water should not be mixed with coconut milk. This is a fat-rich liquid that is extracted by squeezing grated coconut. It has 50% of water and is a very rich source of omega-3 fatty acids. Apart from all the benefits listed above, coconut water is known to hydrate the body, prevent kidney stone formation, and is also known to support better heart health.
Controlled studies need to confirm the positive effects in humans as it has been confirmed in rats who have definitely shown lower A1C levels. A1C level test is conducted to check long-term sugar control. Nevertheless, it is encouraging to note that the study on the effect of coconut water on lab rats has shown remarkably positive results and should be pursued further with human trials to establish the beneficial effects in humans as well.

Babyhug white potty seat (with soft cushions) for toddlers review
Name: Mayawati
Bidve
age& gender of the baby: 21 months old, female
product name: Babyhug potty seat- White. You
may have noticed that you are changing fewer diapers lately and your little one
is usually staying dry during nap time. These, along with other signs, indicate
that it’s time to start potty training for your baby. Many children show signs of being ready for
potty training between ages 18 and 24 months.
Although you can start potty train your baby once your baby can sit properly without support. For potty training
one can use a potty chair or potty seat depending upon one’s choice and the baby’s
comfort. But some babies may start
playing when you use potty chairs and may not effectively use them, in that case using a potty seat will be
the best idea. You may like to dive into
the world of potty training with Babyhug’s potty seat which is very comfortable
and easy to use. It comes with a soft cushion and handles for better comfort and good support for your little one. also, it fits any regular western toilet
seat. It
is very important to potty train your baby as, during early childhood, children
learn another self-care skill that gives them more independence than any other
skill they will learn during this phase of life - toilet training. It's
also one of the self-care skills that caregivers most anticipate, as leaving
diaper duty behind is a huge relief. Choosing a good, comfortable, and attractive potty seat for babies is important to encourage them ready for potty
training. Babyhug Premium Potty Seat is specially designed
for babies who try to potty train independently. It is available in different
colors and comes with two handles on either side that help your little one to
balance well while using the potty seat. They provide a good grip to sit and
get off the seat. It is lightweight & slim so can adjust in the luggage
travelling and fits with any shape of regular adult toilet seats except the
square-shaped toilet seat. It comes with a small backrest that supports your
little one’s back and a soft cushion for the comfort of that little bum. The material
quality is also good & sturdy. The seat I got is White in the color that
matches perfectly with our white adult toilet. The
things I like about this seat is that it has handles on both sides which
provides an optimum grip for baby’s
little hands, and a soft cushion
covered with a PU material. My baby can seat properly holding the handles so
there is no risk of falling. The cushion is covered with a waterproof PU material,
so it is easy to clean the seat. Also, it is easy to mount and remove so it
makes the potty-training process less hassle-free.The only thing that bothered me about this toilet seat is that its cushion seat is non-removable and it cannot be
cleaned properly if by mistake it becomes dirty. Otherwise, everything is just
perfect for me. Rating
this product on the basis of-Features:Material: This seat is made
of a sturdy and durable material that fits in the normal toilet seat. It is

5/5 Product design:The product has a good sturdy design and it fits
perfectly between the base of a regular toilet and its seat to reduce the
opening. As the product is lightweight and slim it becomes easy to carry
anywhere while travelling. also, at home, it is easy to mount and remove the
seat. Has a soft cushion for the comfort of babies but it is not detachable which
make little difficulty in cleaning this seat. It is an oval-shaped seat so can
be used with almost every toilet size.Product design:4/5 Performance:Though this seat is lightweight and slim, its material
