These 10 Habits are What Helped me Keep my Breastmilk Supply Constant
As a new mom it is natural to feel overwhelmed about things. Learning how to
breastfeed and finding the rhythm with your new born is the important. When you're a
first-time mom, the first four to six weeks of breastfeeding are crucial for success.
Many new moms worry whether they are making enough milk. Truth is most new
mothers make as sufficient breast milk, but these few techniques can help a new mom
maintain a healthy breast milk supply.
Establish your Breastfeeding Technique and Keep Breastfeeding Constantly
And try these simple steps before going for supplements or medication.
Ensure correct latch
A proper latch is the mandatory. It is often due to an unsatisfactory latch that
breastfeeding mothers don't produce as much breast milk as they should.
In case you are not sure if the latch is proper talk to a lactation consultant.
Breast Feed more
A new mother’s body produces milk based on the laws of supply and demand. By
feeding your baby at regular intervals you are telling your body to keep up the supply.
Try feeding the baby every two to three hours. If baby is sleeping for more than 3 hours, then try waking and nursing.
Breast compression
Breast compression helps remove more breast milk when you are using a breast pump.
If your baby tends to fall asleep really soon while nursing, breast compression may help.
Establish a Supplemental nursing system
If your baby gets frustrated while sucking because the flow is less, then feeding them
previously expressed milk may help them learn to suck for longer. I used the Philips
Avent Electric Breast Pump to express breast milk in between direct nursing sessions
When you simulate your breasts in between feeding sessions by pumping milk using a
breast pump, it helps increase the supply.
Using the Philips Avent Electric Breast Pump also helped me establish a
supplemental nursing system. My family members could feed my son the expressed
milk pumped using my Philips Avent Electric Breast Pump.
You can use either an Electric breast pump or a Manual Breast Pump to express. It is
also helps working moms continue their breast feeding journey.
As a working mother, I joined back work after 3 months of Maternity
leave. By establishing a pumping and expressed milk feeding routine I
was able to continue my breast feeding journey even while working
full time.
Simulating and warming your breasts before pumping can help you feel more
comfortable. Use either an Electric or a Manual breast pump, like the Philips Avent
Electric Breast Pump or the Philips Avent Manual Breast Pump to express milk.
Lifestyle changes
Stress, fatigue or consumption of too much caffeine can hinder supply. Make simple
lifestyle changes.
Feed from both sides
Remember to try and alternate the breast you start breast feeding with at each session.
Skin to Skin
Skin to skin contact helps the new born and the mother form a special warm bond. Put
your baby on your chest and cover with a blanket. This is called Kangaroo care.
Eat a well-balanced meal & drink enough fluids
Fuel your body with healthy meals and avoid processed foods like oatmeal, green leafy
vegetables, almonds etc. There are few foods & supplements which may help. Always consult your doctor before trying any of these.
Garlic
Fenugreek
Fennel
Ginger
Spirulina
Believe in yourself & your Baby
Most new moms make more than enough breast milk. If you are breastfeeding regularly
and your baby is showing signs of being well fed, you are doing just fine.
Try not be overwhelmed though that is a natural sentiment for a new mom. If you have doubts talk to a doctor, lactation consultant or a breast feeding support group.
Lastly remember that "Fed is best" as long as your baby is well fed and getting required nourishment, it’s all fine.

This Army Day, Enlighten Your Kids with These 15 Facts about the Indian Army
A popular quote goes, “The Indian Army is like a mother. She works selflessly and never asks for anything in return.” How true! As we lead our lives in peace, we hardly ever acknowledge our brave warriors who guard the frontiers, be it on a blazing summer day or a freezing winter night. Yet, they don’t strive to be popular; they just serve our motherland with the utmost dedication and devotion.
Why is Army Day Celebrated?
Army Day is celebrated on 15th January every year in recognition of Field Marshal K M Cariappa’s taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army (from General Sir Francis Butcher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of India).
In fact, a British officer was about to become the first General of the Indian Army. But, an officer pointed out to Pandit Nehru that Indians are definitely as capable as the British. And so, the most deserving officer, Lt Gen Cariappa was told to lead his fellow Indian soldiers.
What We Should Know about the Indian Army
More than the organisation itself, it’s the soldiers and officers who are the face of the Indian Army. To make it easier for your child, explain using simple words who these people are, and what they do for us and our country.
1. The Indian Army came to be formed in 1776 when the British were still ruling. Indeed, they’ve come a long way since our independence!

Kids can take some lessons from the Indian Army that will be helpful not only in terms of academics but for life. They can learn that when they are determined to achieve their goals, nothing is impossible. But, even when they excel in life, they should always remain humble and down-to-earth. They’ll also learn that having courage is an admirable quality and that challenges become easier to tackle when you face them bravely.
These 15 facts will sow the seeds of respect and admiration for the Indian Army in your young children. And who knows, they might even aspire to serve the nation one day! Finally, a salute to our Indian Armed Forces for their service and the sacrifices they make for India and Her citizens!

Baby Teeth Order of Appearance
Babies are sometimes born with their first tooth in place. This is mainly because the tooth buds are developed before they are born.
When Will the First Teeth of Your Baby Emerge?
Although some babies are born with teeth, this is not a very common occurrence. Babies normally start developing their first tooth when they hit the three-month mark or shortly after that.
Which Teeth Appear First?
The first tooth generally appears when the baby is three months old. However, it may take longer for a few babies before the primary or deciduous teeth start emerging. In the order of teething in babies, it is usually the lower central incisors that appear first. However, some babies may start sporting new upper central incisors first.
How Many Teeth Does a Baby Have?
By the age of three, you can expect your child to have a complete set of 20 milk teeth. These teeth are shed when they are around 5 years old, and make way for permanent teeth.
Baby Teeth Chart and Order of Appearance
Here is the teething chart that explains each type of tooth in the order of it's appearance.Do remember that this is the general pattern of teething, but exceptions are not uncommon. It is ok if your child does not follow this baby teething order. However, if the diversion is a cause of concern, do meet a qualified dentist to discuss the issue.
Lower Central Incisors
The lower central incisors are often the very first teeth to erupt, and this can cause your baby to fuss, drool and even try to chew stuff.
Appearance:
Lower central incisors should start erupting at around six to ten months. You should be able to spot them as your baby starts fussing more due to the associated pain and discomfort that comes with teething.
Function:
One of the key functions of lower central incisors is, to act as placeholders until the permanent teeth take shape when your child turns 12.
Shedding:
Your child should start shedding his lower central incisors once he hits six years of age.

Babies usually start to shed these at around six years of age.
Upper Lateral Incisors
Appearance:

Appearance:
Your baby should start developing the lower lateral incisors around ten to sixteen months. You should know that your baby will develop one tooth of each sort, before developing the next one of the same kind.
Function:
Lower lateral incisors act as placeholders for the permanent teeth which should start appearing when your child becomes twelve. Apart from this, these milk teeth help your baby to chew and speak.
Shedding:
Your child should start shedding his lower lateral incisors once he reaches six years of age.
Upper First Molars
Appearance:
The upper first molars come in at around thirteen to nineteen months.
Function:
The key function of the upper first molars are there to help your baby to chew and even help it to speak while acting as placeholders for permanent teeth.

Shedding:
your child should start shedding his upper second molar once he reaches twelve years of age.
When To Worry About Your Baby’s Teeth?
If the sequence of your baby’s teeth is out of order, there’s no reason to be worried. There can be several reasons for the delay, but usually, your child should have all or nearly all its milk teeth in place in due time.
Conclusion
Milk teeth are often neglected as they are perceived as temporary teeth which are bound to fall out, but it is important to understand that the health of milk teeth directly impacts the health of permanent teeth. Ensure that you provide clean your infant’s gums with a soft cloth regularly, and switch to a baby brush when the first teeth emerge. Healthy teeth not only look good, but also keep the child’s gut healthy.

Relationships with inlaws, is it always scary? Or is there another side to it?
Alot of people getoverwhelmed when it comes to staying with inlaws. In my case i have enjoyed most of mytime with all of my inlaws. Especially during the long stretch of lockdown. I was pregnant during most of the lockdown. My parents live
abroad and it was not possible for either of us to travel.
During the period of lockdown my mother in law was likemy very own mother, not just that but my sister in laws were like my dearest friends and my brother in law like my little brother. All of them went nuts trying to make me happy and comfortable
all of the time. They would make me breakfast, fret over my health , cook my favourite dishes , help me with work and most importantly act upon every my every wish. And all of this was truly out of love and care. I was so happy just to be around this
positive atmosphere. Lockdown never seemed like it. Infact i secretly wished sometimes for a very long lasting lockdown with them.We had so much fun during lockdown...all night playing games laughing and telling stories. Sometimes i felt extremely
guilty for not missing home or my very own parents. Naturally when delivery comes near a person misses or longs for ones parent but in my case i had all the help i needed. I was relivedthat i had my inlaws all the time even post delivery. My
Mother in law pampered me just like her very own daughter. She would stay awake at night just so that i could catch some sleep. She would get emotional and cranky when i would be in pain. All my time with my in laws i felt just like home.So
in my conclusion inlaws are a very big boon and i respect them alot for everythingthey havedonefor me.
