10 Foods Babies Should Avoid Eating
The idea of feeding your babies tasty foods would seem pleasing initially, but there might be exceptions; which is why you would want to keep a few food items on hold. 1. Honey

2. Cow’s Milk
As widely known, a Mother’s milk is the best amongst all for her baby. With all the nutrients and enzymes, the breast milk is an absolute healthy meal for the little one. Cow’s milk, however, has a higher lactose content that might affect the little tummies and above all, it might also lead to kidney disorders. Earlier cases have also witnessed bleeding intestines and Iron deficit anaemia.
3. Nut and Peanut Butter

5. Chocolate
Chocolate is one of the most unsafe foods for babies as it contains caffeine. You would never want to feed your infant caffeine, would you? Digesting solids is yet another milestone babies go through their first year and you need to make sure that the little ones are far from the tummy-trouble. Also, a lot of sugar content in chocolate should be consumed in moderation; a good suggestion to avoid chocolate would be to wait till your kid turns one.
6. Egg Whites
Egg Whites, when consumed in moderation by the baby, can be a complete whole diet full of vitamins, proteins, and minerals. However, development of egg allergies can be dangerous if the egg whites are gulped by the babies at a really early age. This may cause irritation, rashes and even trigger the digestive system and lead to diarrhoea.
7. Fruit/Canned Juices
Fruit Juices contain a plethora of healthy elements mixed up together that is served in the most delicious taste and flavours. However, these juices are canned/tetra packed that denotes the addition of preservatives to the content. This is the major reason why this is tagged under foods that babies should avoid. Consulting a paediatrician before introducing fresh fruit juices to infants is strictly suggested.
8. Berries/Citrus Fruits
Strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries and all other citrus fruits hold a high protein content that makes it difficult for the little ones to digest. Citrus fruits majorly contain acid that can cause an iffy stomach and even lead to rashes in the diaper area. A good suggestion is to wait for a year or so or maybe juice up the fruits and dilute a little for a minimal/no reaction.
9. Wheat
Another allergen, it’s recommended that you should refrain your baby from eating any products made from wheat. More than half a population features a strong allergy to wheat and if you’ve had such cases in the family history, a complete hold off is suggested at least until the time the baby turns one. Another major reason to resist from the same is that wheat contains gluten, which is a protein that can cause tummy trouble for the infants.
Consulting a paediatrician in case any signs of allergy are noticed is highly recommended.
10. Raw vegetables
Raw vegetables are high time choking hazards! You need to be careful regarding foods that are unsafe for babies. Veggies such as beets, lettuce, fennel, etc. contain high levels of nitrates which is difficult for the baby to digest at an early age. Babies under one have weak tummy acids that cannot break down the nitrates which is why they block the blood’s ability to transport blood to all parts of the body. The worst consequence could be the Blue Baby syndrome that mentions real low levels of oxygen in the infant’s body.
Compilations are subjective. Diet and the digestive system depend on your toddler. It is highly recommended that if you don’t want your little one to witness an iffy tummy, you should definitely consult the paediatrician who may help you choose the right foods and also define foods to avoid for babies.

Breast tissue develops when you hit puberty between the ages of eleven and thirteen. However, there are conditions which prevent it from fully forming. They are often undetectable until after you get pregnant and give birth. Tuberous breasts are considerably smaller and extended or tubular in appearance. They are also spaced away from each other.
The areolas and nipples of these breasts are expanded in size and tend to bulge at the tip.
Hypoplastic breasts are generally of different sizes, making them lopsided.
The breasts may not change in size during puberty, in the course of pregnancy or even after giving birth.
Can You Breastfeed with Hypoplastic Breasts?
It is certainly possible to breastfeed with hypoplastic or tuberous breasts. This depends on the milk-production tissue in your breasts, as sometimes there might be sufficient amounts to produce enough milk. Another likelihood is that the condition might affect just one breast, that is you might have properly developed breastmilk production tissue in the other breast. Tubular breasts breastfeeding might need supplementation in many cases as well.
Tips to Improve Breast Milk Supply with Tubular Breasts

धीरे-धीरे पैसा आने के साथ उसके पति को बुरी आदतों ने घेर लिया। इसी बीच शीला ने एक पुत्र को जन्म दिया, बच्चे की देखभाल में व्यस्त रहने की वजह से शीला पति को रोक न सकी, और नशे की हालत में उसकी सड़क दुर्घटना में मृत्यु हो गई । शीला पर दुखों का पहाड़ टूट पड़ा। व्यापार की समझ न होने के कारण उसने वापस अपने ससुराल जाना ही ठीक समझा।
ससुराल में उसके साथ नौकरों जैसा बर्ताव किया जाने लगा। हद तो तब हुई जब उसके ससुराल वाले बच्चे को भी पढाना नहीं चाहते थे और उसे भी घर के कामों में लगाना चाहते थे। धीरे धीरे जब शीला को ये बात समझ आने लगी तो उसने अपने बच्चे को लेकर अलग रहने में भलाई समझी।
धीरे से शीला ने कुछ बच्चों को घर पर ट्यूशन पढाना शुरू किया और इस तरह उसने अपने बच्चे और खुद का पेट पालने की व्यवस्था की। धीरे-धीरे उसका बच्चा बड़ा होता गया और पढ़ने में बहुत तेज़ निकला। पढ़-लिख कर वह डॉक्टर बन गया। शीला ने सोचा कि मैंने सारा जीवन अपने बच्चे की परवरिश में निकाल दिया, अब मुझे उसका सही परिणाम मिला है, अब मुझे चिंता की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है। उसके बेटे ने भी उसे यह कहते हुए निश्चिंत किया कि माँ बस अब आप घर पर आराम करोगी, संघर्ष का समय समाप्त हुआ और उसकी ट्यूशन क्लासेज भी बंद करवा दीं ।
धीरे से उसके पुत्र ने एक साथ पढ़ने वाली डॉक्टर लड़की से विवाह भी कर लिया। शीला बहुत खुश थी कि उसके बेटे-बहू दोनों योग्य हैं, पर नियति को कौन बदल सकता है। धीरे-धीरे बेटा-बहू को शीला घर मे बोझ लगने लगी, उन्होंने महसूस किया कि उसकी देखभाल में व्यस्त रहने के कारण वे अपने काम पर ध्यान नही दे पाते हैं, और उन दोनों ने मिलकर अपनी माँ यानि कि शीला को वृद्धाश्रम भेजने का निर्णय ले लिया। जब ये बात उन्होंने शीला को बताई तो मानो उसके पैरों तले जमीन खिसक गई और उसने रोते-रोते भगवान से कहा... "हे भगवान! इतने त्याग और समर्पण के बाद भी तूने जीवन भर मेरे भाग्य में क्या लिखा....आंसू और सिर्फ आंसू" और उसने वहीं प्राण त्याग दिए।

Ingredients
1 cup Rava/Semolina
6 tbsp plain yoghurt
2 tbsp spinach paste for green appam
2 tbsp carrot puree for orange appam
1-1/2 tsp baking powder or 1/2 sachet of Eno
Salt (according to taste)
1/3 cup water
2-4 tbsp of oil for cooking
Method
Step 1
Beat yoghurt with 1/3 cup water for 2-3 minutes. See to it that there are no lumps remaining.
Step 2
Add rava to this mixture, mix it slowly and make a batter by adding more water if required. The batter should of medium consistency - neither too thin nor too thick. Keep it aside for 10 minutes.
Step 3
Now, add baking powder and salt to the mixture. If you don't have baking powder, you can add 1/2 sachet of eno (fruit salt).
Step 4
Divide the batter into three equal portions in three separate containers.
Step 5
In the first container, add carrot puree. Mix well.
Step 6
In the second container, add a little more yogurt. Mix well.
Step 7
In the third container, add spinach paste. Mix well.
Step 8
All the three batters should be of the same consistency.
Step 9
Lightly oil the appam pan with cooking oil or olive oil. Add mustard seeds to the oil.
Step 10
Pour the batter carefully into the pan; sprinkle some oil over it and let it cook for 5 minutes on low to medium heat.
Step 11
Flip them over and let the other side cook.
Step 12
Remove them when they are cooked and they are ready to be served.
Step 13
Enjoy them with chutney or hot sambar!

Autism is a complicated condition that affects 1 in 68 children. Experts still aren’t sure about the factors that contribute to the development of the condition. However, precautionary measures can be taken to minimize as much risk as possible and prevent autism during pregnancy.
Can Autism Be Prevented in Pregnancy?
There is not much evidence to suggest that autism can be prevented or cured, and neither is there a way to predict the development of the condition in children. Experts are still trying to piece together the factors that have been shown to have a correlation with autism. What’s uncertain is whether there is one cause or a number of causes. Some of the newest findings show that it begins even before the baby is born, as early as the second trimester. Other finds have linked nutritional deficiencies, exposure to pollutants, lifestyle choices and even medications to an increased risk of autism. Although there are no known ways to avoid autism during pregnancy, safety measures can be taken so that the known risk factors can be avoided.
Ways to Prevent Autism While Pregnant
Here are some tips on how to reduce the risk of autism during pregnancy:
1. Folic Acid Supplements
Folic acid is a critical nutrient for the development of the brain, without which foetuses are known to develop congenital disorders such as spina bifida. Newer studies into autism have shown that mothers who take their prenatal vitamins before conception have halved the risk of having a child with autism. It’s also known that women with a genetic predisposition are seven times more likely to have an autistic child without taking vitamins. All women need 600 to 800 mcg of folic acid every day, and pregnant women need a minimum of 600 mcg to reduce the autism risk.
2. Quitting Alcohol, Smoking and Drugs
It’s needless to know how bad for the health of smoking, drinking or doing drugs is for the body. The effects on a baby when pregnant mothers do it is devastating, to say the least. Alcohol is a teratogen that leads to a range of disorders in babies, including autism spectrum disorder. The same applies to smoking and doing drugs. Mothers who have a habit of substance abuse or have problems with addiction must quit their habits well before they consider having a child. Avoiding them during pregnancy is also imperative, and subsequently, while breastfeeding.
3. Breastfeed Babies

Breastfeeding is believed to be another factor in lowering the risk of autism in children. It was found that babies who weren’t breastfed and missed getting supplements of docosahexaenoic acid/arachidonic acid had an elevated risk of developing one of the autism spectrum disorders (ASD). It is also thought that a lack of essential fatty acids, such as Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, can also lead to ASD. This link could be due to the vital role fatty acids play in brain development.
4. Reduce Exposure to Pollutants
A strong link has been found between environmental pollution and the risk of autism, specifically due to air pollution in women. One study by the Harvard School of Public Health discovered that women who were exposed to high levels of air pollution, particularly during their third trimester, had twice the risk of children with autism. The risk was higher with higher levels of exposure. It is not clear, however, about what compounds or ranges of compounds in the pollutant category are more relevant. There are hundreds of chemicals from multiple sources, and it could be any of them. Therefore it’s best to move away from polluted areas of the city and avoid traffic during pregnancy.
5. Get Enough Iron

A 2014 study published in the American Journal of Epidemiology showed that iron-deficient mothers gave birth to babies who were five times more likely to develop autism. Many other factors also contributed to raising the risks, such as the age of the woman being over 35 or older, diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity or other metabolic conditions. Iron is a critical mineral to the development of the brain, and women with children with autism are either deficient in the mineral or significantly less likely to take supplements.
6. Maintain Good Health
Mother’s health definitely has an effect on the fetus, and ASD might not be an exception to this as well. Women who are severely ill enough to be hospitalized during pregnancy are at a higher risk of having children with autism. This is also supported by research, as studies have shown a link between maternal infections during pregnancy and elevated risk. One study published in 2014 found that pregnancies that have spacing between them of 2 to 5 years had the lowest risk of children developing autism. It was also found that babies born after 5 years were 30 per cent more likely to be diagnosed with autism. Why it happens is unclear, but the age of the parents matters as well.
One other scientific way of preventing autism during pregnancy is the oral probiotic administration during pregnancy. Although there’s no surefire way to prevent autism during pregnancy, it’s possible to lower the risk. Women need to take their prenatal supplements and maintain a healthy lifestyle while avoiding risk factors.

Dos and Don'ts for a Clean and Hygienic Home for Your Baby
I have always received compliments that my baby and my home always remain clean and smell fresh. Here I want to share some ideas that I am following with my 1-year 9-month-old kid.
1. Till my baby was 6 months, I used to wash his clothes in liquid detergent (especially for baby clothes) Dettol liquid.
2. I started using diapers (Mamy Poko) for my kid as soon as he was 4 months old. From that time, he is wearing it 24 hrs with no side effects. Yes, many people will say don't put these, but you, as a mother, should do whatever suits your kid best. I have observed that my kid plays more proactively, speaks more words and has started walking faster as compared to kids of his age but was using cloth nappies.
3. If using diapers all 24 hrs, then use diaper rash cream even though the kid is not getting rash. The cream will give your kid's bottoms a pleasant smell.
4. Always try to play with your kid and manage with cooking, taking bath in time when he is fast asleep. Playing with your kid will enhance his interacting skills.
5. Never ever become a self-doctor for your kid, It's not necessary that the dose for cold will be the same as it was 4 months ago. Medicine and dosage change every 5-6 months or as per weight gain by your baby.
6. If your baby is suffering from running nose, change his face towel every 6-8 hours. Do not use the same towel for 2-3 days even if it's not used much. Repeating the same towel can cause recurring infection.
7. If the baby is having a cold, then heat 2-3 spoons of mustard oil with ajwain seeds and boil the mixture. Let it cool and then filter it and rub it on palms n feet of your kid whenever he goes for sleep. Rub Vicks Babycare on his chest. It helps in breathing when the nose is blocked.

Q. My daughter (9months old) is not at all willing to drink aptamil and breast milk I am getting only 100 ml per day now. I have tried adding jaggery powder in aptamil but still she is not at all willing to drink.I tried to feed her with aptamil midnight when she was in deep sleep but still she woke up and started crying. For yourself I would recommend you Shatavari powder three times in the day to increase your lactation other than that since your child is six months complete you can give Amul Taaza milk to your child that is easier for the childhood digest and flavour is also good even if you want you can add some dry fruit powder saffron or turmeric for flavour change that’s also a good option to try these alternative

A. If there is back pain you have to maintain a proper posture take a healthy diet and also do some regular exercise specially back extension exercises to strengthen muscles also you can take calcium and iron supplements suggested by yohur doctor imf still you are having weakness and other symptoms it needs a proper assessment

A. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much. Sometimes baby does not poop for 7-10 days. Please massage baby stomach clockwise and anti-clockwise. You can also apply hing water on baby stomach. Also do some cycling leg exercises of the baby to relieve from constipation and gas. Please make the baby burp after every feed. Mother should chew saunf and ajwain after every meal.
