How to Teach Preschoolers The Difference Between Big and Small
It's important to teach your child the basic concept of big and small as he gets ready for preschool. The activities listed here will help you formulate your lesson plan on big and small for preschool. Remember to make it fun. If he enjoys what he's doing, he'll learn sooner!
Teaching the difference between big and small is generally the starting place for preschoolers when teaching them opposites and mathematical concepts. You can help your child learn quickly by incorporating fun ideas in your lesson plan.
How to Teach Big and Small to Preschoolers
Show him picture books demonstrating the difference between the two concepts. You can take it a step further and show him real objects that highlight difference in size.
All children love playing with balls and blocks. A fun activity to teach your child the concept of big and small is to mix different sized balls or blocks, and ask him to sort the big from the small.
Music is a wonderful way of introducing new concepts to preschoolers. Play some fun nursery rhymes about big and small. Try out 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'- it never fails to enchant!
You can also create ‘big and small’ activities for kids. Staple a few pages together to make a book. Ask your child to draw small things and big things. You can also have him look for pictures of small and big objects in an old magazine, cut them, and paste them in the book.
Make a box of assorted items containing things in 2 sizes. For example, a big rock and a small rock, a long pencil and a short one, and a big jar and a small jar. Get 2 empty cartons, one big and one small, and ask your preschooler to help you sort the big and the small items into them.
Try and use the terms ‘big’ and ‘small’ in daily life as much as you can, even in normal conversations with your child. Show him examples of big and small as you go about your routine.
Stacking and sorting toys are a great way to teach your child the difference between big and small. You can get nested bowls or stacking rings, which demonstrate the difference. You can do the same with regular household items. Give your child plastic bowls or straws or pencils of varying sizes.
Games are always fun and all children love them, especially outdoors games. Take your preschooler to the playground and give him fun instructions like “Put something small in your pocket”, “Hide behind something big”, and “Touch the biggest thing you see”. This is a fun and exciting big-and-small game for children as they love running around following the instructions.
Most preschoolers enjoy talking about how big they are, and like comparing themselves to other objects or children. These activities will also interest them. Encourage your child to play and see how quickly he learns. Read more

Embracing parenthood is a real joy, and popular actors and real-life couple Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij are experiencing this joy all over again! The couple welcomed their daughter Tara four months ago, and have, since, shared multiple pictures of her, offering little sneak peeks and glimpses. However, on Christmas day, Jay and Mahhi shared the first solo picture of Tara on their respective Instagram handles. And it’s hard to pick what we liked more in their posts - the absolutely beautiful picture or the heartfelt notes penned down by the mommy and daddy. Tara, dressed as Snow White, looks every bit like a princess in this photo. Take a look for yourself!

Mahhi Vij too shared the same picture of Tara with a wonderful caption, wishing her husband and Tara’s daddy! Here’s what she wrote: “Happy birthday @ijaybhanushali this year I thought of making your birthday even more special. We love you @tarajaybhanushali n mumma wish u the best year ahead 2020. I couldnt have given you a better gift thn our lil princess this day with your lil one. happy birthday, love.” For sure, Tara has certainly made Jay and Mahhi’s Christmas merrier!

Mahhi gave birth to Tara this August and since then, Tara has been frequently making appearances on her parents’ Instagram handles. However, they hadn’t been revealing her face until now. But as promised to his fans, Jay shared the picture of his ‘little teddy bear’ on his birthday, i.e., on December 25th.

Tara is the couple’s first biological child. Earlier, in the year 2017, Jay and Mahhi had adopted their caretaker’s kids, a boy and a girl, and have been taking care of their education and upbringing. Here’s a cute picture of the happy family!

Jay and Mahhi tied the knot in the year 2011 after having dated for several years. The two are certainly worthy of the hashtag #relationshipgoals, don’t you agree?
On the work front, Jay was last seen in a web series titled Parchhayee. He rose to fame with the TV show, Kayamath and went on to work in various other TV shows. The actor had also hosted several dance and singing reality shows and garnered appreciation for his anchoring skills. He recently hosted the show ‘Superstar Singer’. Mahhi too had worked in some popular TV shows, such as Laagi Tujhse Lagan and Balika Vadhu. Together, the couple had won the dance reality series Nach Baliye 5 in the year 2013. Owing to her pregnancy, Mahhi had taken some time off work this year, but she recently made a guest appearance in the reality show Bigg Boss 13 this year.
We hope Jay and Mahhi continue to delight their fans with their acting skills (and also treat them by sharing cute pictures of Tara every now and then). We wish the happy couple lots of love and happiness with their little ones! Read more

Parenting is a Lifelong Learning Experience!
When I first became a mother, I was filled with questions and doubts about every little thing related to that tiny little person who looked up at me with those innocent eyes. I was filled with all the 'W-type' questions in my mind and was always worried, "What if I failed as a parent?" But now that I am a mother of a wonderful 4-year-old boy, I have realised it's all about having patience, being alert and letting them be themselves. Then they will eventually grow up to be wonderful kids.I shifted with my husband and a 2-month-old boy to a new place as my husband is in a transferable job. Everyone in my family was worried as to how I would manage it alone, but I thought, if I don't do it alone, I will never master the art of parenting. So now it was just my husband and me who had to manage a 2-month-old son with zero experience of parenting! In his first year, my son was always a late bloomer in everything, be it his first tooth eruption, first roll over, crawling and walking and even speaking!!! People around me always talked about how fast their kids were, how quickly they had started walking, how quickly they had started chewing. This filled my mind with doubts about whether there was something wrong in what I was doing. But I kept trying my best and kept telling myself, it's ok, he too will do it. My husband always says, "Everyone gets teeth eventually yaar, eventually everyone starts walking, why you worried?" And yes, this made me patient and calm. When I stopped worrying, I started noticing there was less stress on me and our kid. Yes, he did get his wonderful set of pearl white teeth, started walking, running and became healthy also. It all happened because I just put in my best parenting efforts and stopped worrying. Sometimes, we do get bugged by the pressure from neighbours and elders about parenting but in the end, parenting is all about the bond between you and your kid. The more time you spend, the more you know about them. The less you worry, the less the kids worry. There is nothing called as ideal parenting. Parenting is all about failures and achievements but most importantly, learning from them and standing up as a role model for our kids.

A. Typically, your bump becomes noticeable during your second trimester. Between 16-20 weeks, your body will start showing your baby's growth. For some women, their bump may not be noticeable until the end of the second trimester and even into the third trimester. The second trimester starts in the fourth month.
