Goat Milk for Babies: Benefits & Recipes
As a new parent, it is essential that you do everything possible to take care of your baby’s health. A large part of that is the understanding of baby nutrition. Understanding the nutritional needs of a baby can not just help you plan out their diets better, it can help you plan their diets out smarter as well. One extremely tasty must-have for any baby’s diet is milk. In a world where there are numerous types of milk like soymilk, almond milk, buffalo milk and the traditional favourite – cow milk, a lot of doctors have begun recommending goat milk for your baby.
Is Goat Milk Safe For Your Baby?
Milk contains something called lactose. This is generally considered one of the hardest elements of any food group to break up into the systems. Traditionally used cows milk, while rich in calcium, has a lot of lactose in it, this can make it harder for a baby to digest. While goat milk for a newborn baby is not completely lactose-free, it is known to have a lot less of it. So why is goat’s milk healthy or healthier than options like soymilk, rice milk or almond milk? It has a much higher calcium content and is nutritionally much better for babies. Milk is an essential part of a baby’s diet because a baby’s body develops from the nutrients available in milk. Most non-dairy milk products like soymilk are healthy for adults, but for the developing body of a newborn, it is essential to have dairy as such, goats milk which could be more beneficial for your child than cow milk or non-dairy milk.
When Can You Start Giving Goat Milk To Your Baby?
It is important to understand that goat milk is not an alternative to breastfeeding. This means your baby still requires you to breastfeed or bottle feed a child. It is not recommended that you use goat milk for formulas. Doctors suggest that you start feeding your child goat’s milk or products made of goat’s milk like goat cheese by around the 9-month mark. Any earlier could cause problems with the child’s nutritional balance.
Benefits Of Goat Milk For Infants
Switching your child to goat’s milk can have numerous benefits, some of these are:
1. Lower Risk Of Allergies
Cow milk consists of proteins that can be highly allergenic. These are present in the lactose of the milk. Those allergic to this have a condition called lactose intolerance. This condition can cause severe discomfort for your baby. Goat’s milk has considerably less lactose. This means the risk of severe allergies is lower. Goats milk is not as allergenic as cow and buffalo milk.
2. The Good Fat
Compared to cow milk, goat’s milk is easier to digest, it also has a higher content of good fats like polyunsaturated fat. This means that your baby can digest goat’s milk better and the good fat absorbs into their body more. This good type of fat is essential for the growth of your child.
3. Better For The Intestines
Lactose is extremely hard to break down, and it is slow to digest. Another issue with lactose is it can harm the intestines. The low quantity of lactose in goats milk may actually help preserve your baby’s intestine health.
4. Prebiotics
Most milk types have healthy bacteria known as prebiotics or probiotics. When compared to other dairy-based milk, goat’s milk has higher prebiotics. This helps your baby stay healthy and maintain a good amount of healthy gut and digestion-based bacteria.
5. Lower Cholesterol
Goat’s milk has smaller quantities of bad cholesterol and lower amounts of all types of cholesterol in general. This is considered very healthy for both adults and babies as cholesterol imbalances later in life could lead to issues like hypertension or blood pressure issues.
Recipes Of Goat Milk For A Baby
The great part about goat’s milk is it can be used identically to cow milk. Ensure that you boil the goat milk or buy pasteurised goat milk, so your baby doesn’t fall sick. You can feed your baby goat milk from a bottle, and if they are old enough, you can mix in drinking chocolate, or you can use it in cereal.
Should You Give Goat Milk-Based Infant Formula Or Goat Milk Yogurt To Your Child?
Depending on the situation, you may be considering giving your child goat milk yoghurt due to the added healthy bacteria available in yoghurt in general. Before you do that, it is highly recommended you talk to a nutritionist or doctor first. There are some nutrients that milk has that yoghurt does not, it is essential to replace these nutrients when feeding your child.
If your child is younger than a year, it is recommended that you start with goat’s milk and introduce other goat dairy products to their diets gradually.
Why Goat Milk May Not Be A Proper Substitute For Cow Milk-Based Dairy Products?
Like with any ingredient you should consider goats milk for babies danger signs. Although lower in lactose than cow’s milk, goat milk still has lactose and as such your child could develop lactose intolerance. Another thing to consider is that goat’s milk doesn’t have folic acid which is a crucial part of your baby’s nutrition and is present in cow milk. It is recommended that you talk to a doctor in detail and understand the risks of using goat milk instead of cow milk.
Tips To Keep In Mind While Choosing Goat Milk For Your Infant
As with any ingredient, there are a few things to keep in mind while feeding your child goat’s milk, here are a few tips:
Goat’s milk is low in folic acid. This is important for a baby’s nutrition, always buy goat’s milk with added folic acid.
Vitamin B-12 is an important component of your baby’s diet. Cow milk has higher quantities so if your baby is on goat milk, ensure you give them some form of vitamin supplements.
There is a risk your baby could become dehydrated with Goat milk or any other milk, ensure your baby is hydrated regularly.
It is recommended that you seek medical advice before shifting any nutritional needs for your baby. Always listen to your doctor and understand the benefits and risks of making dietary changes. Never make drastic changes to your baby’s diet. Gradually build it up and ensure that if your baby reacts badly to the change that you see a doctor immediately.

17 Old Wives Tales About Pregnancy & Gender Prediction
It is safe to say that pregnancy and gender predictions have been complementing each other since the beginning of time. Old wives tales of gender prediction have been analysed, shunned, debunked, only for them to keep making a comeback. Whether one believes in them or not, these stories are quite entertaining to behold.
Amazing Pregnancy Old Wives Tales
Here is a compilation of some of the best old wives tales about pregnancy.
High or low: How you carry your belly is one of the most widespread old wives tale for baby boy gender prediction. If you are carrying low, it is said that you can expect a boy and if you are carrying high it is said that you’ll have a girl.
In truth, how you carry depends on your muscle tone, strength, and the shape of your belly. Women who have had previous pregnancies also tend to carry lower due to increased elasticity of the muscles in the stomach.
Sweet or salt: If you crave for sweets like chocolates or desserts, it is said that you’ll have a girl. If you are more inclined to salty flavours, it is believed that you will have a boy.
Pregnancy cravings are normal and the kind of food you crave has absolutely no link to the sex of your child.
Baby’s heart rate: A heart rate of over 140 bpm indicates a girl and if it’s below 140 bpm it indicates a boy.
The foetal heart rate is between 120 to 160bpm for a healthy baby and is not determined by the sex of the baby.
Extra weight measure: A woman with extra weight out front is believed to be carrying a boy. A woman with extra weight around the hips and bottom is believed to be carrying a girl.
Where a pregnant woman carries extra weight is based on her anatomy and not on the sex of the baby.
Linea Nigra and the colour of the nipples: A dark line called Linea Nigra extending from the pubic bone to the navel region means that you will be having a girl. If the line extends from the rib cage to the pubic bone then you are likely to have a boy. Likewise, if your nipples are getting darker, you may have a boy, if not, a girl.
The dark line is a result of hormones, so is the darkness of the areolas and have no bearing on the sex of your baby.
It’s all in the hair: Another popular Indian old wives tales is that if your hair has gained volume, looks lustrous and you simply can’t stop admiring it, then you may be having a boy. Dull, thin hair is said to be courtesy a girl child.
There is no scientific backing to this. Some women see a boost in keratin that improves hair and nail quality during pregnancy; others seem to get a slightly worse end of the deal.
The bigger breast: It is said that a bigger right breast means that you will have a boy. If your left breast is bigger you are more likely to have a girl.
Increase in breast size is natural during pregnancy and there has been no evidence to prove this link.
Girl steals beauty: If you are having a girl, it is said that your looks may take a turn for the worse! It is also said that if you have an acne breakout, you’ll have a girl. However, if you feel more attractive then you may be having a boy.
There is no evidence to prove this tale.
Morning sickness: Do you have the worst morning sickness? Old wives say that you may have a girl. If you face no bitter moment of morning sickness, then you are likely to have a boy.
Morning sickness is a common symptom of pregnancy and the excess or lack of it does not indicate the sex of the baby.
Your sleeping position: If you prefer sleeping on your left side, you can expect a baby boy, if you feel like sleeping on your right, you may have a girl.
While this has no true backing, sleeping on the left is deemed to be the best position during pregnancy as it increases the blood and nutrient flow into the placenta.
Mood swings: Recurrent and severe pregnancy mood swings are linked to having a girl. If you have a generally pleasant pregnancy, you may have a boy.
Mood swings are caused due to hormonal changes in the body due to pregnancy, which has no relationship with the sex of the baby.
The cause of your heartburn: If you experience a lot of heartburn during pregnancy, it is said that you’ll have a girl. Heartburn is also linked to the baby having a lot of hair.
While the link between heartburn and sex of the baby has no real scientific backing, researchers at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore may have surprising found a link between heartburn and hair growth. Although not completely confirmed, the researchers believe that excessive pregnancy hormones are the reason for gastric reflux which causes heartburn and is also responsible for hair growth in the baby.
Partner’s weight gain: This one is definitely one of the most entertaining out of all old wives tales. If your partner puts on some extra weight during the course of your pregnancy, it is believed that you will have a girl.
As expected, this theory has no scientific backing to it.
A long, strenuous labour: It is believed that if you have a long and painful labour you will be having a boy.
While not entirely proven to be true, it is found in an Irish study that women who gave birth to baby boys had a longer labour time, saw more complications and needed emergency C-sections. This is attributed to the larger head size and the heavier weight of baby boys at births, in comparison to girls.
Cold feet: If your feet are always cold during your pregnancy, then you may be having a boy. If you enjoy warm and cosy feet during pregnancy, it may be a girl.
There is no evidence to prove the validity of this statement.
The colour of your urine: Bright yellow urine indicates that you are carrying a girl. Clear coloured urine can indicate a boy.
The colour of your urine has no link to the sex of your baby. Light coloured or clear urine may be the result of a good amount of water.
Pupil dilation: Do your pupils dilate when you stare into the mirror for over a minute? You may be having a boy as per the old wives tale.
Pupils dilate in low light or are aroused by something we see. It has no correlation with the sex of the baby.
Old wives tales have been around for a really long time. While none of them has been proven scientifically, some of them have been considered to be possible based on research. True or false, it sure does make for an interesting ensemble of predictions that you can enjoy while waiting for your baby.

8 Simple Ways to Decorate Your Home for Christmas

There's a chance you'll be decorating your home for Christmas with shiny, pretty decorations to ring in the festivities. Decorating your home for Christmas need not be an expensive affair - just a few simple Christmas decoration ideas can help save the day (and your money), all the while making your home look beautiful.
Parenting is tough, what with all the juggling of work and family. The Christmas spirit often takes a backseat in such cases, but it doesn't have to be this way this year. A weekend is all you will need to transform your home into a Christmas wonderland - what's best, these Christmas decoration ideas can be something you and your child work on together, making it a beautiful bonding activity.
8 Ways to Make Your Home Look Christmassy
If you want to feel Christmassy every time you step into your house after a tiring day at work, these ideas are just what you need. Below are a few DIY Christmas home decor ideas for 2019 that will put you in the festive mood in no time.
1. Wall-Mounted Wooden Christmas Tree
[caption id="attachment_200531" align="aligncenter" width="533"] Source: Curbly.com[/caption]
Since most of us don't have big, cottage-style homes or homes with porches, it may feel like there's a lack of space to have a traditional Christmas tree. Don't fret - you can have a beautiful tree in your current space too! This wooden Christmas tree has a minimalistic look, and the best part is that you can use this all year round. Get a few wooden shelves from a hardware store close to you, and cut those stands in a way that they can be stacked to make it look like a Christmas tree. Nail them to a wall in your living room, and decorate each shelf with ornaments of your choice. Add multi-coloured lights over and around the shelves - use the shelves for candles or other Christmassy things to give it a festive look.
2. Fairy Lights Wall Art
Buy a long string of fairy lights and stick it in the shape of a Christmas tree in your child's bedroom. This way, your child gets a cool night light as well as a personalised Christmas tree, just for his room!
3. Personalised Ornaments
Add a personal touch to your Christmas tree by going for handmade decorations and personalised ornaments. This is something your child can be a part of as a fun craft activity for Christmas.
Get some red, white, and green pom poms and ask your child to paint them using colours. Hang these pom poms on the Christmas tree. You can also make DIY ice-cream stick snowflakes, but they don't have to be the generic white colour - encourage your child to paint them in his favourite colours. Instead of going for store-bought bells and stars, your child can cut the shapes of stars and bells from cardboard and decorate them with glitter and glue.
A quick tip: Turn this into a small decorating party with your kids!
4. ‘Memories of the Year’ Wall
Fashion a 'memories of the year' wall in your home and stick pictures of your outings, trips, and fun moments that you have documented throughout the year. This way, you'll be able to spend the holiday reminiscing about the year and sharing the feeling of gratitude with your loved ones. The children could also put up pictures of Santa Claus, elves, a snowman, or anything else they fancy. You can create a space on the wall for pictures by taking some black chart paper and covering a major chunk of the surface area of the wall and decorating it with Christmassy elements like snowflakes, hollies, bows, and wreaths.
5. DIY Stars and Snowflakes
Turn your corridor into a wonderland with stars and snowflakes hanging from the ceilings! You can simply download a snowflake and star template and give to your child - encourage him to colour it or decorate it using sprinkles and glue. Then, take a cardboard cutout of the same stars and snowflakes and simply glue them on. Tie the cardboard with a string, and hang it from the ceiling! This way, every night, you and your children will be reminded of a winter wonderland just by looking up.
6. Utilise Your Diwali Decor
Don’t let your Diwali decorations go to waste. Use your leftover Diwali lights to decorate your balcony and use green and red-coloured tea light candles to decorate your dining area.
7. Christmas Treats
Christmas is incomplete without delicious Christmas treats such as the gingerbread man and rum balls! Bake your own gingerbread cookies and involve your children to decorate them with red, green and white icing and sprinkles. You could also make chocolate balls and coat them with grated coconut to make them look like snowballs. Put them onto a red paper plate and use them as a centrepiece for your Christmas dinner party.
8. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Last but not least, let’s not forget our favourite: Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer! You can turn him into a fun Christmas ornament and use it as a treat for your children. Glue two candy cane sticks or pretzel sticks to a thick bar of chocolate, and add a small, red-coloured edible sphere in the middle of the bar. There you have it - your very own Rudolph! Give this to your child as a Christmas snack.
As Dr. Seuss said, “Maybe Christmas doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more!”. We mustn’t forget that Christmas is not just about trees, ornaments and the other shiny things that come along with it -it’s the spirit and belief that you have within. It’s not what’s under the tree that matters, but who is gathered around it.
This Christmas, forget all about your deadlines at work, or your little one's submissions at school. Enjoy it with your family and loved ones. Celebrate it the way you want to. It could be going out for a Christmas dinner or simply snuggling together under a blanket and watching Christmas movies with your family or best friend. ‘Tis the season of joy and giving - this Christmas, promise yourself to give the most that you can to the ones in need. Merry Christmas and a very happy new year!

Have a Happier Workday The Easy Way!
Looking for things you can do to make your workday better? From positive thoughts and pre-planned agendas, to little things like smiling more, taking small breaks, and cutting down on caffeine, bring appealing changes to your day. Change yourself, change your environment—others will be happy too!
It’s an uphill task to break free from a routine or make positive changes in your workday. In fact, even a small transformation has to deal with oodles of procrastination, consistency and diligence. Sometimes, even for weeks in a row. The fact is that any kind of change in your workday can be so intimidating that it makes you keep things just the way they are—which then leads to frustration, anger and irritability alike. Little wonder, it’s essential to make all efforts to bring in a positive boost to your workday. Find out how.
How to Improve Your Workday and Make it Happy
1. Smile, Laugh, Grin- It Costs Nothing!
Believe it or not, smiles like yawns are contagious. They go a long way and reflect back happy faces to you. By smiling under any pretext (and for real reasons too) you trick yourself into believing that you're totally relaxed and at home. If you manage these transformations positively, suddenly, your office environment will start appearing brighter to you. Others will enjoy your presence too!
2. Have An “Unplug Me” Time
Just 15-20 minutes of “no communication” or “blackout” time will relax your eyes and brain. These helpful minutes can come in any time of your workday. When you're ready, disconnect yourself from the web, switch off your mobile, and don the “do not disturb” sign. Once you're relaxed, you’ll find yourself being less stressed and more productive than before.
3. Organise Your Space
Getting more organised will help you learn how to improve your workday. Be it your desk or desktop, it shouldn't take too long to get months of old materials, unused files, and random things out of the way. Once the clutter is out, you'll find yourself happier and in better control on any all kinds of workdays.
4. Short Breaks Are A Must
Grab a bite, go out for some fresh air or stop by for some gossip. Your days are not only about slogging long hours or moving from one task to another. You need to unwind too. Try to decompress office-related stress as far as you can, yes, you’ll work better afterwards.
5. Chat Up A Stranger
You're obviously tired with the same old faces hovering around you. Effective tips to improve your workday include talking to people other than your boss, secretary, accountant or peon. Dialling up loved ones back home may not yield good results. What do you do? Strike up a conversation with that cute looking guy looking all lost at the reception. You never know what’s in store.
So, the next time you feel down in doldrums, try out these strategies and liven up your workday. You'll have happier workdays and better office experiences too! Read more

A. I’m not aware about what medicine it is for I can only tell you that these basic medicines you can take throughout your lactation it’s not a problem the medicines that you could take before your pregnancy can always be taken during the time of lactation

A. The basic delivery date is normally 39 to 3 40 weeks of your pregnancy whenever you are ready for your delivery and whenever you hit your labour that’s going to be the right time for you further move your Dr is going to tell you when are you going to deliver with the help of an ultrasound
