Taking Good Care of Yourself From the First Day of Pregnancy
When a woman finds out that she is pregnant, it is one of the happiest moments of her life. It is a wonderful feeling, but it is challenging to give birth to a healthy child. You know, your child grows from day one naturally. But the healthy growth of a baby doesn't come naturally. It all depends on your habits during pregnancy.Taking care of yourself during pregnancy is the only way to take care of your baby. And you should start taking care of yourself from the first day of pregnancy. Eating healthy food is essential during pregnancy.
Foods That You Should Eat While Pregnant
There are some common foods you must eat on an everyday basis.
1. Fruits
Eat fruits daily. Prefer apple, pomegranate, or beetroot juice if you are anaemic and eat citrus fruits twice a week. Eating fruits can help in treating the constipation issues that usually occur during pregnancy.
2. Milk
Drink at least half a litre milk daily by mixing the protein powder in it.
3. Vegetables
Eat fresh vegetable curries than fried veggies. If you prefer, you can eat salads more often.
4. Dry Fruits
Eat dry fruits daily. You can eat 4-5 almonds, 1-2 anjeer, and 2-3 dry dates.5. Meat and Eggs Opt for meat and eggs twice a week.
5. Water
Drinking plenty of water will keep you hydrated and resolve constipation problems. If you don't like to drink much water at a time, drink it gradually but don't skip on it. Once a day, you can even drink flavoured water such as pudina water, lemon water, or ginger water. However, don't drink lemon water regularly as it might lead to acidity. Some other foods you can have based on your health condition after the checkups and tests. Many women face the problem of morning sickness in the early months of pregnancy, hence they lose their appetite. But you shouldn't stop eating. Avoid the foods that make you puckish; eat remaining foods. The above foods should be consumed as soon as you find out that you are pregnant. As the baby needs all kinds of vitamins, proteins, calcium, and iron, eat foods that contain all these minerals. Following an unhealthy diet can pose complications for your baby. So better take care of your diet plan. Focus more on what to eat and when to eat. Good luck and have a healthy baby.

New Study Shows 5 Surprising Reasons Moms Are Always More Tired Than Dads!
Parenting is a team job. It is something that moms and dads must play equal part in. Increasingly today, more and more dads are actually pitching in to help their wives in looking after the baby and bringing up the children. That said, at the end of the day, it is usually the mom who looks haggard, sleep-deprived and has dark circles under the eyes. Friends and family look on and nod in understanding – after all, she’s a mom and this is bound to happen. Well, we agree. It is now a scientifically proven fact that moms are more tired with parenting than dads are. A new study that explores the differences between moms and dads has proved this without doubt…
The study was performed by a team of researchers at the University of Minnesota in the US. Their findings are based on the time diary data submitted by from more than 12,000 parents. This data has been linked to their feelings and levels of fatigue. And we must say, most of the findings seem straight on point!
Why Moms Get Way More Tired Than Dads!
Here is the list of reasons parenting is more tiring for a mom than it is for a dad. Go through the list and we have a feeling you’ll definitely agree!
Reason #1: Moms Take More Part in the ‘Work’ Than in the ‘Fun
When it comes to fun time, moms find themselves going without any ever so often! Since they have so many chores to finish and errands to complete, they forego many of the fun activities that are proven to reduce stress in the body. Most of their time per day goes in completing work rather than in cementing relationships and relieving stress. This involves work done to meet their child's needs, keeping the house clean, looking after their husband's interests, etc.
Reason #2: Moms Need to be Available Around the Clock
It is almost considered a given that mothers can be called on by kids 'around the clock'. In India too, many moms today are stay-at-home-moms while the Dads have a job to go to in the morning. This is why it is considered necessary for the fathers to get their sleep and for the mother to attend to interruption by the kids and night-time chores such as diaper changing, feeding, playing, calming baby down to sleep, etc.
Reason #3: Moms Have to Handle Many Things On Their Own
The study also pointed out that when mothers are with their kids, they are usually by themselves. However, when fathers are with their kids, it is likely that the mother or other adults will be around. These grownups provide some back-up to the fathers and reduces their stress of being around a new baby or doing something completely on their own.
Reason #4: Moms Get to Sleep Way Less Than Dads Do
Ah, the familiar pain point! Sleep is a big question for moms – both at night and during the day. Moms have to be up intermittently every night to look after the baby. At daytime too, she cannot always ‘nap when the baby does’, as is often suggested. She has household chores, personal tasks, and professional commitments, if working, to complete. The study has established that sleep also has an effect on differing levels of happiness in parents.
Reason #5: Moms Don’t Have Time For Family Leisure Activities
Finally, not participating in leisure activities with your husband, kids and in-laws is yet another reason you are more tired. When the rest of the family is having dinner, playing a board-game, or out for a walk, many moms stay back to finish pending chores. While this clears her time for other things, it has a slow-building but long-term effect on her mind and body. The study showed that leisure time with the family plays a big part in promoting happiness and warding off stress. When talking together, family members also express stress and conflict, understand each other better, and come closer.
Well, if nothing else, take this lesson from this new study: take GOOD CARE of yourself! Moms are prone to exhaustion, illness and emotional breakdowns and imagine what will happen to the household if this happens to you! Also, if your husband doesn’t help out much with the baby, try and at least enrol his help for the other one hundred things that need to be done around the house. Bringing up kids is something both parents need to share in. Only then can you truly experience the joy that having kids of your own brings!
So moms, how has the parenting journey been for you so far? Is your husband a hands-on-Dad who helps out with the baby or do you have to handle most of the work on your own? Do share your experiences with us in the comments. Read more

DIY Play-Doh Butterfly
Summer holidays mean plenty of time to get creative with your little one! And the best part, there’s so much you can learn from each other. So here’s an all-time favourite activity involving Play-Doh. Create your own little butterfly, add a touch of your imagination and get ready to have tons of fun together!
Play-Doh Butterfly
Things you need
Blue Play-Doh
Green Play-Doh
Orange Play-Doh
White Play-Doh
Red Play-Doh
Black Play-Doh
Procedure
Cut a small part of orange play-doh and roll it out cylindrically in a sausage shape. Cut 4 equal parts from this and roll them into small equi-sized balls.
2. Now, let’s work on creating the body of the butterfly. For this, grab some green play-doh and roll it out evenly such that the ends are slightly tapering and more narrow than the middle.
3. Take those 4 orange play-doh balls and flatten them- two smaller and two relatively bigger in size.
4. Go back to the green play-doh roll and cut it in two small parts. One will be used to create the head of the butterfly while the other one will make up the body.
5. Roll out the part that makes the body in such a way that the top is slightly thicker than the bottom. Press the roll gently to flatten the surface
6. With the other green part, roll it into a mini-marble sized ball to create the head.
7. Now, it’s time to assemble the pieces together. Take the bigger orange disks and place them next to each other leaving some space in the middle. The smaller orange disks will be placed right below the bigger ones. These will make the wings of the butterfly.
8. Take the green roll and place it between the orange disks and stick the green ball on top of the body to create the head.
9. Time to beautify the wings now. Take a little blue play-doh, roll it out horizontally and cut small parts to roll them into beads. Stick these little beads over the wings (orange disks) to make them look pretty. You can experiment with different patterns for this step.
10. Create the eyes by taking a little white play-doh, rolling and cutting it into two small balls. Ensure both are equal in size. Stick them on the head of the butterfly.
11. Roll out a thin strip of the red play-doh to create the antennas of the butterfly. Bend it is a wide ‘U’ shape and place it over the head of the butterfly.
12. To give the butterfly’s eyes more definition, roll out two tiny black play-doh balls (of the size of a seed) and stick it over the white part.
13. There, your pretty little butterfly is ready!
How is This Activity Beneficial for Your Child?
Apart from being a lot of fun, this activity can help with enhancing your child's fine motor skills as they cut, roll, squish, squash and flatten. It strengthens muscle tone in their little hands. Besides, this also helps in differentiating between colours and builds an inclination towards creative thinking.

Fun tip: To add a little more colour to the butterfly, you can decorate the wings by using 2-3 coloured beads! Read more

A. Some women may have vomiting throughout their pregnancy. The most common reason for vomiting during the third trimester may be gastritis. Make sure you eat small frequent meals, preferably every 2 hours. If your baby's weight during checkups are adequate..u needn't worry much about this. You can also consult your doctor and take anti emetics and PPIs if the vomiting is bothering you or interfering with your daily activities.
