How to Conceive Triplets Naturally
Triplets are the dream of many families. Those adorable little munchkins and their contagious energy are what make parenting a beautiful journey. If you've always dreamed of having triplets then you'd be glad to know that there are ways to conceive them naturally. From fertility assistance to lifestyle tips and techniques, here is everything you need to know about triplet births and also how to increase your chances of conceiving triplets naturally.
Formation of Triplet Babies
Triplets are formed in mainly two ways-
Monozygotic- Where the embryo splits into three identical ones, thus giving birth to babies of the same gender and genes
Dizygotic - Each embryo gets fertilized by separate sperms. The babies may or may not be of the same sex or either carry the same genes.
Another way triplets are formed are when an embryo gives birth to twins and are followed by another one that gets fertilized separately. This is fondly referred to by mothers as 'a pair and a spare' which indicates that the spare baby may be of different gender and genetic disposition than the twins. The twins, however, will carry the same DNA.
Odds of Having Triplets
Getting triplets isn’t something that happens to everyone. In fact, there is a good chance that you may not know any couples who have triplets. If you're curious about your odds of having triplets, then here are some facts you need to know-
You must have a family history of birthing triplets
You must be 30 years or older since older women have higher chances of conceiving triplets
You must come from a family that has a history of hyper-ovulation
There is a 1 in 9000 chance of conceiving triplets according to Australian research
You have a 1 in 40 chance of birthing triplets if you take fertility assistance
How to Get Pregnant with Triplets?
If you're trying to get pregnant with triplets, then you'll be glad to know that there are a couple of ways to increase your chances of conceiving. Age is a huge factor since women over the age of 30 and below 40 experience a spike in fertility before entering their peri-menopausal years, thus increasing the chances of releasing multiple eggs for fertilization.
Fertility assistance is one the main ways couples increase their conception chances, but there are other factors you can naturally influence to maximize your likelihood of a triplet conception. Keep reading, and we'll explain how to conceive triplets.
Tips to Conceive Triplets Naturally
Having triplets is the dream of many mothers. Your family grows, there's an abundance of energy and so many memories to make as your child grows through the following years. For some, it's a dream, and for others, it's pure terror.
Here are some of the best tips for conceiving triplets naturally, according to Australian doctors and previous medical research-
Consume a nutritious diet rich in yams, milk, and dairy products
The only possible way to increase your chances of having triplets is to have lots of intercourse during your high sex-drive years
Eat foods that stimulate progesterone production such as almonds, walnuts, chicken, eggs, and whole grains
If you've given birth to twins or more children before, your chances of conceiving triplets will increase substantially
Increase your body weight
Quit smoking and alcoholism
If you're of African descent, your chances will be very high
Take a folic acid supplement every day
Stop taking hormonal birth control drugs
Be extremely lucky or blessed
Get fertility assistance since that will increase your chances by up to 85%!
Due Date for Triplets
Your due date will arrive sooner than you'd expect when you're having triplets. Normally, it takes 36 weeks for twins to be birthed while it takes 33 weeks for triplets to come out from your womb. The reason behind this is that your uterus swells, thus triggering cervical contractions early on which leads to an early delivery due to the small size of the babies.
There is another reason behind the early delivery date, and that's because the uterus doesn't have enough room to let the babies grow further, thus triggering an early or premature delivery.
Complications Associated with Having Triplets
Although triplets are a dream for many, sometimes things go off-track and aren't quite what you'd expect. Pregnancy with one child itself is fraught with complications so it would be logical to assume that the risks are greater when it comes to triplets. This is because the body has to use its resources for four individuals, including yourself!
Here are pregnancy or birthing complications associated with having triplets that you need to be aware of-
1. For Mother
Triplets pregnancy risks associated with the mother bearing them are-
Severe sickness in the mornings
Heartburn
High blood pressure
Anaemia
Maternal pre-eclampsia
Premature delivery
Placenta Praevia
Chances of developing gestational diabetes
Excessive amniotic fluid in the placenta
Miscarriage
High likelihood of developing a condition known as 'varicose veins'
Difficulty breathing
Severe bleeding during and after birth
Difficulty breastfeeding three babies at the same time
2. For Baby
Pregnancy complications associated with the babies are-
Single or multiple stillbirths
Fetal growth abnormalities
Tangling of the umbilical cord
Your babies may develop Down Syndrome, although the chances of this are rare
You may experience a surge of emotions during the first few days when you discover that you're having triplets for the delivery date. Take some time off or discuss with your spouse how your lifestyle will change after conception.
On the other hand, if you feel blessed and have always wanted to conceive triplets, then congratulations. Be open to receiving gifts and take advantages of rented equipment and leased furniture to save expenses and financially stay afloat along the way. The best part is the whirl of tingling emotions you experience when you hear the good news . However, you must remember that once you give birth to triplets you will be in for a wild ride and experience a world of adventures. But, we promise that it'll be worth it! Read more

Mom's Viral Post Slams Anyone Who Thinks C-Sections Are ‘The Easy Way Out’
It's a sad fact that some members of our society tend to look down on women who give birth via C-section. It's 2018, yet vaginal birth is still touted as the best and only way to bring a new life into the world, and a C-section is treated with disdain and disapproval. Well, this C-section mom was sick of being judged, and in a viral post, decided to tell her haters exactly what she thought of them.
“Oh. A C-section? So you didn’t actually give birth. It must have been nice to take the easy way out like that.”
This is one of the common reactions that mommy Raye Lee gets when she tells someone that she had her son via an emergency C-section. What most people forget is that C-sections are just as painful as natural birth is, if not during, then after. Unfortunately, C-section moms aren't as vocal about their pain and suffering as they should be. Mommy Raye is here to inspire us all with her sarcastic but absolutely heartfelt response:
“Ah, yes. My emergency C-section was absolutely a matter of convenience. It was really convenient to be in labor for 38 hours before my baby went into distress and then every contraction was literally STOPPING his HEART. Being told at the beginning that I was displaying great progress and wouldn't need a cesarean section... and then being told that I was being prepped for major abdominal surgery was not a shock at all. It had nothing to do with the fact that I physically couldn’t because I was given no other choice to save the life of my child. Oh, and that surgery is super easy peasy to recover from.
WRONG, That is all sarcasm.
This was the most painful thing I have experienced in my life. I now belong to a badass tribe of mamas with the scar to prove that I had a baby cut out of me and lived to tell the tale (because you can die from this, you know).”
And for those who wonder exactly what is so bad about a C-section, she spares no details of all that happened during her delivery. The details are enough to daunt even the most strong-willed of us. They are also ample evidence that C-sections are anything but easy, and indeed, sometimes the ONLY way to safely bring your baby into this world.
“Having a shrieking infant pulled out of an incision that is only 5 inches long, but is cut and shredded and pulled until it rips apart through all of your layers of fat, muscle, and organs (which they lay on the table next to your body, in order to continue to cut until they reach your child) is a completely different experience than I had imagined my sons birth to be.
This was not pleasant. It still isn't.
You use your core muscles for literally everything... even sitting down, imagine not being able to use them because they have literally been shredded and mangled by a doctor and not being able to repair them for 6+ weeks because your body has to do it naturally.
When that first nurse asked you to try getting out of bed and the ripping pain of a body cut apart and stitched back together seared through you, you realized the irony of anybody who talks about it being the "easy way out".
Whoa! That sounds like a terrible ordeal, doesn't it? Not to mention the fact that C-section brings with it more post surgery complications than a vaginal birth. Infection in the incision, bladder or other internal organ injury, and heavy blood loss are just a few of the many things that could go wrong in a C-section. Little wonder then that she signed off with this:
“I am the strongest woman that I know. Not only for myself, but for my beautiful son... and I would honestly go through this every single day just to make sure I am able to see his smiling face.”
Hats off to you mama, for letting the world know that C-section is no walk in the park, and what matters most is that our babies are born safe and healthy. Let's stop judging each other based on whether we had a 'normal' delivery or a C-section one. It is a matter of circumstance, personal choice, health, medical advice and several other factors rolled together. The method of childbirth doesn't matter. What matters is that the mom and baby are both healthy and well.
We all know how challenging motherhood can be. In this journey, we and our fellow moms need support and understanding, not judgment based on untruths. Read more

Jupiter Planet Facts and Information for Kids
Our solar system is the one with information on the sun and 9 planets revolving around it. The 9 planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. Jupiter, the biggest planet of solar system also known as a giant is the fifth-placed planet from the sun.
Interesting Jupiter Facts for Kids
There is a lot about Jupiter that you will find interesting. Here is some Jupiter info for kids, mixed with some fun facts about Jupiter to widen your knowledge of the biggest planet.
Jupiter is 318 times bigger than our planet Earth with a diameter of 1,42,750 kilometres. That’s a whole lot bigger than our planet!
Jupiter is the fourth shining object after the Sun, Moon and Venus in the Solar System. It is so shiny that it can be seen with naked eyes from Earth.
Jupiter has a total of 67 moons! The 4 largest moons are Lo, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto, which are together called Galileo moons. In comparison, Earth has only one.
Recently, Hubble telescope has observed Aurora (an atmospheric occurrence similar to northern lights) which is a spectacular electric blue in colour on the north pole of Jupiter.
Unlike Earth which is round, the shape of Jupiter is oblate i.e. there is a noticeable bulge in the centre. It is quite different from the spherical formation of our planet Earth.
Jupiter takes 11 years and 9 months to complete its revolution around the sun. This means that a year on Jupiter equals 11 years and 9 months of Earth years.
Jupiter is the fastest rotating/spinning planet in the solar system. It completes its rotation on its axis within 10 hours, whereas, Earth takes 24 hours to rotate on its axis. So the days and nights are much shorter there. So, one day on Jupiter lasts only 10 hours.
Jupiter also has rings around it just like planet Saturn. But the rings around Jupiter are very light and comprise various gaseous dust particles, and thus are visible only with very strong electronic telescopes.
Due to the fast rotation of Jupiter, the atmosphere on the planet changes rapidly. There is strong cloud coverage which surrounds the planet and there are ever-raging strong storms which is also known as Jupiter's 'Great Red Spot'.
Jupiter has a magnetic field that is 20 times as big as that of Earth. Magnetic fields can keep debris and solar wind from entering into the planet’s atmosphere. Which such a powerful magnetic field, Jupiter can deflect solar winds when they are almost 3 million kilometres away!
So kids, take hold of a pair of binoculars and search the night sky. The brightest shining object in the sky you are seeing is most likely planet Jupiter, and if you have a telescope, you can also get the chance to see the moons revolving around it. Jupiter is a planet of great might and beauty. We hope these facts help your kid take an interest in the glorious planet.

“Well Meaning” Parenting Advice you Have Tired Of!
As soon as people discover you're pregnant or are a new mom, you have them advising you on everything from what to eat to how to bring up your baby. After a point, it's irritating and unwelcome! Check out these pieces of oft-repeated parenting advice you're sick of and could do without.
How often has it happened that you’ve gone out walking with your little one and someone stops to coo over your baby? They then proceed to tell you what you’re doing wrong and give you a whole load of advice that you never asked for. It happens way too often! Every baby is different, and so is yours, and if you had a penny for all the unsolicited advice you’ve received, you’d have been a millionaire!
Unwanted Parenting Advice You Must Ignore!
Advice #1 - Let your baby cry herself to sleep
The understanding behind this one is that your baby will tire herself out and go to sleep, eventually understanding that no one will respond to her wails. Yet when a baby cries, it’s for a genuine reason. Either she’s uncomfortable or needs to be changed, or is hungry, tired, or just needs a hug. You have to have a very different heart to ignore the cries of a wailing baby!
Advice #2 - Let them eat what they want to:
This is one of the worst pieces of advice! Of course, the people who give it may mean well, but you can’t very well provide free reign to your baby. She’ll grow up becoming dependent on junk food and won’t stay healthy either.
Advice #3 - Sleep when the baby sleeps:
That’s easier said than done! You can’t sleep at the drop of a hat especially when there are so many other things to do. If only you could ask the people who give you this advice to babysit your child and do your household chores while you catch up on your precious sleep!
Advice #4 - You don’t dress your baby warmly enough:
Most moms are in the habit of dressing their babies warmer than they need to be. However, many doctors will tell you that children need not be bundled under layer after layer of clothing. Of course, clothe your baby in layers but don’t overdo it. If he seems to be squirming too much, or if you know for a fact that the weather is a tad too warm, you might want to peel off a layer or two.
You must have heard these ‘gems’ innumerable times, especially if you’re the mother of a newborn. Well-meaning but annoying parenting advice you are sick of! Go by instinct when bringing up your baby. Take advice you deem important and from people you trust. After all, what works for another mother may not work for you and your baby. So, hang on to the pieces of wisdom that make sense to you and ignore the rest! Read more

Baby Sleep Basics : Few Methods And Advantageous Tips And Tricks
Maybe your baby is waking up more times overnight than you’d like. Maybe naps are ridiculously short. Maybe your baby wants to start the day at 5 a.m. All you know is that you feel like you’re at the end of your tether, and you need help now
Regardless of the sleep issue you’re experiencing, there are some key Baby Sleep Basics that can help you start to see improvements today:
Routine, routine, routine
It is really never too early to help baby understand what’s expected next (read: sleep!). By 2-3 months old, a good bedtime routine lasts about 20 minutes and includes calming activities done in approximately the same order every night. A good nap routine is a shortened version of the bedtime routine, lasting about 5 minutes. It’s okay to mix up your routine to include/exclude a bath, but try to keep the rest of the routine as consistent as possible from day to day. Here’s a sample bedtime routine, beginning after the last feeding of the day: Wash up, PJs, Bedtime Books, Songs, Snuggles and into bed. But you can create whatever routine works best for your family.
Dark, calm and quiet
A baby’s sleep environment should be dark, calm and quiet. After a baby’s day/night confusion has resolved (typically by around 2 months of age), do everything you can to make their sleep environment as dark as possible by using room-darkening shades or towels/pillows/whatever you have on hand for all naps and nighttime. Keep the room temperature between 19-21 degrees Celsius (babies sleep better when it’s a bit cooler). Remove any toys, mobiles etc. that could be distracting your baby from sleeping. Make sure their sleep space is where they go to sleep only, not to play. Use a white noise machine that stays on all night long. Side note: why do some white noise machines/toys shut off exactly at the end of one sleep-wake cycle, all but ensuring baby will not sleep longer than 45 minutes at a time? Strange!
Sleepy is as sleepy does
Resist falling into the tempting trap of thinking that keeping your baby up for longer periods of time during the day will help them eventually crash and sleep through the night. In fact, the exact opposite is true. Putting an overtired baby to bed is pretty much exactly like asking them to wake up multiple times throughout the night and get up before the crack of dawn. A well-rested baby is more likely to have good, long stretches of overnight sleep. Remember this adage, whatever you do: The road to more sleep is more sleep (within reason).
Happiness is… bedtime
Don’t be afraid of an early bedtime. The more sleep babies can clock in before midnight, the more restorative their sleep will be and the more likely they will sleep longer stretches overnight. A bedtime in the range of 6:30-8:30 p.m. is ideal for babies and toddlers. Particularly in the first year of a baby’s life, bedtime should be flexible and based on age-appropriate wake windows. A wake window is the amount of time that your baby can handle being awake in one stretch. At the newborn stage, wake windows are only about 45 minutes long (barely enough time to feed and change them!). They increase by about 10-15 minutes per month until babies can handle about 3-4 hours of awake time by their 1st birthday.
Don’t rush it
This advice applies to a few different situations. First, if you’re trying something new to see if it will help your sleep issue, give it some time to work. I always recommend giving any new change at least 3 days before thinking about changing the tactic. Second, while you’re working on independent sleep and baby starts to stir, give them an extra minute or two to see if they will settle themselves back to sleep. Sometimes a little delay in the rush to go to them is enough to help them learn independent sleep. It may not work right away, but staying consistent over a reasonable amount of time will eventually spell success.
Whatever the sleep situation, sharpening your baby’s sleep environment, routine and schedule is an excellent place to begin looking for solutions. These basics are often enough to address an ongoing sleep issue. Give it a couple of weeks and stay consistent before deciding that you might need to go beyond the basics Read more
