The cervical dilation of pregnant women who ate dates was found to be higher compared to pregnant women who did not eat them. Thus, eating dates during the early stages of labour can lead to a shorter labour.
Research proves that more than 83% of the women who ate dates had their membranes intact when admitted to the hospital, and less than 28% of these women were given synthetic oxytocin or prostin during labour. On the other hand, 60% of non-date eating pregnant women had their membranes intact, and about 43% of them needed prostin.
Labour occurred spontaneously in more than 96% of the women who ate dates during pregnancy and in 79% of women who did not eat dates.
Dates help boost the oxytocin effect - the contraction of the womb - which, in turn, enhances uterus sensitivity.
Calcium, serotonin, and tannin present in dates help in the proper contraction of the uterine muscles.
Dates contain both saturated and unsaturated fatty acids that supply energy. They also help in producing prostaglandins. Both the oxytocin effect and prostaglandins are essential for labour.

Eating Dates in the First Trimester
Eating dates is important in the first trimester as constipation is a big issue during this time. Eat dates to ensure a healthy bowel movement and no internal discomfort. However, make sure to limit the quantity of the dates you eat during the first trimester if you have blood sugar issues or group B strep infection (an infection found in the rectum or vagina of a pregnant woman).
Eating Dates in the Second Trimester

As a rule of thumb, you will need 300 calories extra every day for the proper development of the foetus. 3 potatoes, boiled, peeled and mashed
1 carrot, peeled and grated
1/4 cup homemade paneer or cottage cheese, crumbled
1 capsicum, de-seeded and finely chopped
2 tbsps (tablespoons) peas, steamed
1 large onion, finely chopped
5-6 pods of garlic, finely chopped
1/2 inch piece ginger, grated
1 tsp (teaspoon) garam masala powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 cup shredded cheese
1 tsp white vinegar
2-3 green chillies, finely chopped
A small bunch of coriander leaves, finely chopped
Salt to taste
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup bread crumbs
Oil for shallow frying
Method
Step 1
Add in the carrots, capsicum, paneer, onion, garlic, ginger into the mashed potatoes.
Step 2
Mash all the ingredients well with your hands or a potato masher, a food processor can also be used. Mash till a subtle coarseness remains in the mixture.
Step 3
Add in the remaining ingredients except the oil and mix well. Check for salt and spice levels as per your taste.
Step 4
Shape this mixture into small lemon size balls and flatten them a little between your palms.
Step 5
Dip these flat cutlets in the beaten egg and then followed by the bread crumbs.
Step 6
Preheat a tawa or a skillet on medium heat; place the cutlets a few at a time on the skillet. Drizzle adequate oil on them and roast them on medium heat until they are crisp and browned on both sides.
Step 7
Continue the same process with the remaining cutlets.
Step 8
Serve the delicious spicy hot Mix Vegetable Cutlets along with chutney or a yogurt dip.
Tip:
You can add other veggies such as sweet corn, beetroot or even spring onions to vary the taste.
Egg can be completely avoided to suit the vegetarians. Only using the bread crumbs will also suffice.

It's a story about me or might be many like me. When I have conceived for the first time, already so many changes are happening inside internally as well externally.
In all those changes unawarely we generally forgot to prepare ourselves for postnatal changes, so do I.
Post delivery I tried my best to breastfeed my baby due to inverted nipple it was very hard for him to latch milk, so I have to surrender on to bottle feed and he was totally on formula. Which leads to consequence of low immunity, catches infection very easily and still he is dependent on bottle feed to go off for sleep
Though I tried several thing and visited to many doctor and tried some home remedies, because a guilt rushes inside me even today as it was my carelessness or my failure and thanks to all relatives and neighborhood aunties for making me feel more bad that I am not able to breastfeed my child as if it was my delibrate choice.
I have learned my lesson from previous mistake and in my second pregnancy I prioritize and prepare myself to be able to breastfeed my baby. From very beginning I have told my gyne regarding my problem of not being able to feed my first child due to inverted nipples and less lactation. Under the guidance of my midwive I have succeeds to feed my second baby. Trust me its an amazing feeling!!!
So all the ladies who are planning to have a first child or second child (by any reason not been able to feed your first) all I could say with my experience just plan your breastfeeding in advance, talk to your gyne take their suggestions and also lactation consultants are available you can take their advice as well in advance to understand and resolve all your doubts. If you have inverted nipple do Exercises in advance, you can do gentle massage with any oil suits your skin on your nipple and make there mouth or syringe exercise. There are some lactation medication or tonics are also available, you can take your gyne's suggestion regarding that. A little conscious effort will help you in breastfeed and as we all know it's a best meal for your baby for at least first 6months.

Haven’t when you having some kind of iron supplement because they’re very good during the time of pregnancy if you are not having one you need to start with and whatever tabs you take you should just take it with any good juice specially pomegranate juice that’s going to help in doubling the impact of the medicine that you’re taking secondly try and include more of Iron which diet like spinach broccoli beetroot pomegranate black rice sweet potato these things are exceptionally healthy for you to consume
