11 Weeks Pregnant with Twins or Multiples
Making it through the initial phases of pregnancy is one of the toughest things for a woman. If you have reached a stage where you can call yourself 11 weeks pregnant with twins or multiple babies, then be proud of yourself and relax. You are approaching the completion of the first trimester and soon troublesome nausea will be on its way out of your life, and you will find yourself with a lot more energy than before. Many women at this stage even start hearing the heartbeat of their babies prominently as their stomach makes space for the little ones inside.
The Growth of the Babies at 11 Weeks
Once you reach the 11th week of your pregnancy, the growth of your twins or multiples will progress rapidly like never before. If compared to women pregnant with a single baby, the size of your twins will be comparatively smaller than theirs, and the size of the multiples will be even lesser. This is a completely normal fact, given the space within the uterus, and don't worry as your little ones will catch up pretty soon.
The genitals of the babies are already formed by this time, but it won’t be possible to tell them apart yet. However, their bodies are already responding to their sex by developing the respective hormones or internal bodies. Testosterone production in a baby boy takes off to a great start and the ovaries begin to form right away in a baby girl.
The tiny hair that was initially spotted a week ago, begins to grow all over the body as well as on the head as well. The beds for the nails also emerge properly on the fingers and the toes begin to create around this point.
One of the key developments that babies go around this point is the formation of a diaphragm, though it is not of much use while they are within the womb. Some babies tend to have hiccups while they are inside and along with these internal movements, the little ones even begin to roll around and flip inside the amniotic fluid quite often. You may not feel their movements as they are not strong enough to be felt, but their movements can surely be observed in an ultrasound.
What Is the Size of the Babies?
Most babies tend to weigh around 8 grams or so, and the length, when measured from the head down to the buttocks, is around 5 centimetres or so. At this stage, their head is the largest and usually half of the entire body size. Though the little ones might be as large as a fig, the sizes might be a tad smaller in case of multiples being present in the womb.
Common Bodily Changes
The belly is one of the strongest reminders for a woman that she has entered the 11th week of her pregnancy. A woman pregnant with twins or multiples will notice a few shifts in the way her body functions.
The enlarged uterus will now leave a very little space in the abdomen as the bladder and other organs are all squeezed together now. This puts pressure on the muscles of the pelvis and the sphincter and can make it difficult to control them properly. Many women tend to realize this when they accidentally pee in their pants if they sneeze or end up laughing heavily. All it causes is an embarrassment and there’s nothing to worry as you can strengthen your pelvic muscles with a few kegel exercises.
One of the common changes in the body that women notice late into their pregnancy is a substantial growth of hair and nails, which is at a far quicker pace than before. However, you might start noticing it at the 11th week itself, finding your hair or nails to be larger and shinier than they usually are. All of this is a result of elevated hormone levels in your body, which also help counter any sort of hair loss that you might be experiencing earlier.
The increased circulation of blood can cause you to feel warm at random times, and could even result in instances where you find yourself sweating for no particular reason. In most cases, these are signs of hot flashes, which is a result of boosted blood circulation for the babies and is totally normal. If sweating is at specific times around the evening or accompanied by a fever and a feeling of illness, you can ask your doctor to take a look.
Symptoms of Twin Pregnancy at 11 Weeks
The signs of a twin pregnancy at 11 weeks might be on their way out as you are close to completing the first trimester. Therefore, you might be experiencing these symptoms randomly or they might be unchanged for quite some time.
Exhaustion would usually be on its way out as your body adapts itself to all these changes happening within. If not, these would be just the last couple of weeks until you get your mojo back.
The same goes for morning sickness and perpetual nausea as well. If you have seen other women feel better and you are still stuck with your sensations, let time do its thing. Your moments of peace are on their way soon.
The shiny hair and glowing skin are all a result of hormone elevations, and so are your mood swings. If constant interaction with people gets you irritated, keep aside some time for yourself where you can relax or meditate.
Ligament cramps can occur as the uterus expands, but this week might also signal the beginning of random leg cramps. You will feel leg cramps usually at night but these can be kept in check quite easily by ensuring a substantial consumption of water and other fluids.
If you are happy that that unwanted nausea is gone, then don't be too happy as acidity and constipation will trouble you often. Combined with gases and bloating, these can make you feel full and lead you to fart quite often. All of these are a result of hormones and relaxed muscles that slow down the entire digestive process. There’s nothing much that can be done, however, if you follow a healthy diet that is rich in fibrous food items and drink lots of water, then you can feel relief to an extent.
The discharge taking place through your vagina could get stronger around this week. Wearing thicker panties or using old underwear can be beneficial for you around this time. Similarly, you might suddenly notice the presence of a dark line running down your stomach, if not earlier. That’s totally normal, too. So, don't panic!
Twin Pregnancy - Belly At 11 Weeks
It is the 11th week of pregnancy that makes a woman feel that she is finally pregnant, as it is this time when her belly starts having a pretty prominent bump and the infamous curved pregnant belly starts showing its initial presence. The uterus nearly fills the pelvic region substantially now, which can also be felt by the firmness of your stomach when you touch it.
Some women may also feel movement within them and attribute it to an excited baby. However, your twins are still too small to make you feel anything, and all that movement might probably be gas.
11 Weeks Twin Ultrasound
Most ultrasounds at this stage are done to check if the babies are developing in the right manner and to rule out any disorders in the child. In cases of twins and multiples, your doctor may also tell you if you have identical or fraternal babies, depending on the placenta sharing. Any pregnancy issues will also be nipped in the bud at this checkup.
What to Eat
A good look at a pregnant woman’s diet is highly suggested when she reaches the 11-week mark. The presence of proteins, iron, iodine, carbohydrates in your diet is important for a healthy twin pregnancy. However, you should not overdo the consumption of foods rich in these, as it can result in gases and constipation, which can disturb the baby.
Giving into cravings for fatty food products is a strict no-no. Go for healthy vegetables, cheese products, porridge, which are much healthier options than anything else. And just like always, make water and other juices your best buddies through the pregnancy.
Pregnancy Care Tips
With the first trimester completion in sight, there are some basic care tips you can keep in mind to ease yourself into the coming months.
Do's
Try to relax as much as possible in these few weeks. Your body needs the time to recover from the initial tough phases and your stress levels need to be minimal to help it through.
Interact with other pregnant mothers over a social network or at any pregnancy classes you might be visiting. Talking to them can provide you with support and put you in touch with women who have the experience of a prior pregnancy.
Dont's
Do not overeat as it can result in irreversible consequences.
Similarly, don’t try to combat overeating with extra exercises. Both can make things difficult for your body and your pregnancy.
What You Need to Shop for
You can choose to invest in a tiny baby monitor amplifier that can help you listen to the heartbeats in your womb. Similarly, get some nice incenses to get you through these last stages of morning sickness.
Housing twins at 11 weeks in the womb successfully is a feat that needs to be rewarded. Have a nice dinner together with your partner and dream about how you will raise a family together. A healthy body and a healthy mind can work wonders in keeping your little ones happy in the womb.

Low BP During Pregnancy
Blood pressure measures the force exerted by the blood on the walls of the arteries when the heart pumps. The connection between low blood pressure and pregnancy is that the blood vessels in the circulation system dilate due to hormonal changes in your body, which may lead to low blood pressure.
What is Low Blood Pressure?
Your blood pressure is considered low if it reflects a reading of 90 mmHg/ 60 mmHg or less. A normal blood pressure is a reading of 120 mmHg/ 80 mmHg.
When Does a Pregnant Woman Have Low Blood Pressure?
Your blood pressure may start falling in early pregnancy and might touch its lowest around the middle of the second trimester. The readings of blood pressure are important, as they can indicate yours and your baby’s health. Low BP is commonly reported among pregnant women, and it may remain on the lower side till 24 weeks of gestation.
Types of Temporary Low Blood Pressure
There are typically two types of low blood pressure. Let’s understand each of them.
Postural Hypotension
Your blood pressure may remain low for a brief period after you get up from a sitting or sleeping position. The condition, also known as orthostatic hypotension, is a result of sitting or lying down for a long period of time. The blood reaches the brain a little late when you suddenly change your position.
Supine Hypotension
If you are sleeping or resting on your back, then the pressure is forced on the major blood vessels like vena cava, aorta and others, causing a drop in blood pressure. This hypotension happens because of the expanding uterus, which may lead to dizziness around the second and third trimester.
Causes of Low Blood Pressure During Pregnancy
Some reasons that could be the cause of low blood pressure in pregnancy are mentioned below:
One of the reasons behind low blood pressure in the first trimester could be hormonal changes that cause dilation of blood vessels.
Dehydration lowers blood pressure due to rapid loss of water, and can cause dizziness.
The enlargement of the uterus creates pressure on the blood vessels and may cause hypotension. Supine hypotension is mostly experienced in pregnancy when you lie down on your back.
Postural hypotension is caused by the accumulation of blood in the legs, which affects the blood flow to the brain. It usually happens while rising from a sitting position or lying position.
Anaemia and hypoglycemia (a condition that causes low blood sugar levels) can also be the reason for low BP during pregnancy.
If you have any heart-related conditions, they could also cause a significant dip in your blood pressure levels.
Other factors include deficiency of vitamin B12 and folic acid. The foetus absorbs nutrients from the mother. Hence, the mother is prone to anaemia if there is less intake of vitamins or folic acid, as this deficiency can slow down blood circulation and cause poor blood pressure.
Signs and Symptoms
Breathing problems, chest pains, vomiting or an increase in pulse rate.
Dizziness and episodes of fainting because of low blood pressure.
Light headedness and blurred vision when suddenly changing from a reclining or sitting position.
Excessive thirst and difficulty concentrating, due to anaemia.
Severe pelvic pain along with a lowered BP. This can indicate a ruptured ectopic pregnancy, which could be very dangerous.
Pale, clammy and cold skin, besides feeling fatigued or weak.
Some of the symptoms mentioned above might subside after you rest or have enough water to drink. Make sure you discuss it with a doctor, as it could be a sign of health problems that have not yet been detected.
Diagnosis of Low BP When Pregnant
The condition can be easily diagnosed with the help of a device used to measure blood pressure. For this, an expandable cuff will be put around your arm and a pressure-measuring gauge will be used to calculate the blood pressure.
Risks of Low Blood Pressure In Pregnant Women
While low blood pressure does not pose as much risk as high blood pressure, it still remains a cause for concern during pregnancy. Watch out for the below risks if you have been diagnosed with low blood pressure.
Dizziness due to low blood pressure may raise the chances of fainting, falling and hurting yourself and the unborn baby.
If there is a drastic fall in blood pressure, it can reduce the oxygen supply to your body, thus, impeding your body’s crucial functions. It could be risky for your baby in case there is less supply of oxygen, causing significant damage to the baby’s heart and brain.
How to Treat Low Blood Pressure in Pregnancy
Here are some facts and remedies for the treatment of low blood pressure during pregnancy.
Treatment
There is no treatment prescribed for low blood pressure at the time of pregnancy. Even medications are not suggested during pregnancy, unless the symptoms are serious or there are chances of complications. However, the issue can be controlled with simple changes in lifestyle like exercising to promote blood flow, being careful while getting up after sitting or lying down, and stretching your ankles and feet before you stand up. It is noticed that the blood pressure starts rising on its own in the last trimester.
Self-Help Remedies
You can try some of the home remedies for low blood pressure during pregnancy mentioned below.
1. Salt Water
It is usually recommended for patients with low blood pressure, as the sodium content in salt increases blood pressure. However, don’t consume too much salt water, as it can prove to be detrimental to your health. Simply add half a teaspoon of salt in a glass of water and drink it or you can also take oral rehydration solution.
2. Raisins
The best remedy is to eat raisins - a traditional but excellent way to treat hypotension. Soak some raisins in water overnight and consume them in the morning, on an empty stomach. You can also have the water in which the raisins were soaked. Follow this for a few weeks or even a month.
3. Basil
Basil contains nutrients like Vitamin C, magnesium, potassium, and pantothenic acid, which are good for low blood pressure. Moreover, it also helps to ease stress. You can extract the juice from basil leaves, add a teaspoon of honey, and consume this on an empty stomach, daily. You can also simply eat the basil leaves, if you like the taste, every morning.
4. Beetroot Juice
You can drink a cup of beetroot juice on a daily basis, for about one week.
5. Ginger
Ginger is effective in dealing with low and high blood pressures because it contains certain compounds and antioxidants along with chemicals such as shogaol, gingerol and zingerone, which can avert variations in the blood pressure levels.
6. Aniseed
It contains potassium, calcium, iron, manganese, copper, zinc and magnesium, which increase the iron and potassium levels that may help in raising blood pressure. You can simply add the herb while cooking your food.
7. Lemon Juice
Another excellent home remedy is lemon juice, especially if low BP is caused due to dehydration. The lemon juice can help in providing energy and enhancing the function of liver, along with aiding digestion.
8. Fresh Carrot Juice
Fresh carrot juice can help in improving blood circulation, and hence, maintain blood pressure levels. You can consume fresh carrot juice along with honey, every morning.
9. Almond Paste and Milk
It is the most commonly prescribed remedy. This combination may work on the adrenal glands that can stabilise the blood pressure. Soak five or six almonds overnight, peel the skin and grind to a smooth paste. Add the almond paste to boiled milk and stir it well. Consume a cup of almond milk to improve blood pressure levels.
Besides these home remedies, you should drink plenty of fluids to keep the condition under control. It is best to consult your doctor before you opt for any home remedies.
Will Low BP in Pregnancy Affect My Baby?
Although some studies suggest that the condition of low BP during pregnancy may cause problems such as low birth weight and stillbirth, other researches have revealed that such issues are accompanied by certain other factors, and are not just a result of low BP.
Tips on Dealing With Dizziness Due to Low Blood Pressure During Pregnancy
One of the main symptoms of low blood pressure is dizziness and feeling faint. This can harm you or your baby’s health, if you faint and fall. These are some ways to manage dizziness caused by low blood pressure in pregnancy.
1. Don’t stand for a long period of time. Take short intervals and sit down, especially while doing any housework such as cooking, laundry, or cleaning.
2. Avoid taking very hot baths or showers, as the hot water further dilates blood vessels, lowering blood pressure and making you feel faint.
3. Stay hydrated by regularly sipping on water throughout the day to keep your mind active and fresh.
4. Avoid changing your position too quickly, as you may feel faint. Get down or sit up slowly to give your body some time to adjust to the change in position.
5. Wear loose clothing, which makes you feel more free than constricted. This will help ease any feelings of lightheadedness.
6. Sleep in the left lateral position, as it increases blood circulation to the baby and also prevents Supine Hypotension Syndrome in the mother.
When to Seek a Doctor’s Help?
During pregnancy, low blood pressure can lead to serious symptoms like a severe headache, blurring, weakness, numbness in one side of the body, and shortness of breath. Consult your doctor if you experience any of the symptoms mentioned above.
With the above-mentioned home remedies and proper consultation of your doctor, you can control low BP during pregnancy.

Your 9 Months Old Baby Growth and Development
A quarter short of completing a year of their life, your baby at nine months is at the most exciting growth stage. At nine months your baby is surely crawling its way to every nook and corner of the house, probably even trying to stand using support, occasionally babbling or even calling you “Mama or Dada” for the first time. An adorable phase, there are several key developments at this age which indicate healthy growth There are several physical, social, emotional and mental indicators that characterise this stage of the child’s development.
Growth of the Baby
A delightful age, where everything they do is funny and entertaining, you can see your little one growing into a mimic, comedian or performer of a kind. Your baby’s comprehending skills are improving, and he or she will be more sophisticated in their natural ways. Your baby can put away toys, dismantle them, be more aware of your misses when playing games and even raise objections to specific actions that are not within their routine
Baby Development
Be prepared to hear a lot of babbling from your baby as he or she gets closer to mouthing meaningful words. The first words that you eagerly expect - “Mama or Dada” could come out of their mouth and they may well know what it means. If your baby is an early talker, they may be using a few words already. Your baby will be using body language and noises to communicate and get your attention.
Your baby has learnt emotions especially caution and fear. These will be rampant when they are around a new atmosphere or with strangers. They enjoy playing with educative toys or seeing pictures in a book and like to listen to conversations with different sounds and noises. They enjoy the occasional game of peekaboo or even finding hidden toys, and they are crawling and propelling themselves in all directions.
Some babies can stand up with support by holding a piece of furniture or your hand. In some cases, babies tend to start walking with support or even without any support. Babies at this stage also start becoming independent and try and hold things with their thumb and index finger. They may poke things with their index finger. Some babies try and hold their own cup, the bottle or even a spoon while eating. They become more vociferous and gesticulate to express something.
36 Week Old Baby Development
Separation pangs
Remember, now, and for the coming weeks, there will be anxiety involved when you separate from your baby. Your baby has got accustomed to you and fear of anyone else is absolutely normal. Babies may be apprehensive of strangers or even grandparents and care providers. The transition can be made easy by adopting a slow approach and let the baby make the first move.
Travel Woes
Your baby is now at a stage where they have comfortably settled in their own surroundings and love the confines of their space. It could be your own home, the nursery or daycare. So, if you intend on travelling or undertaking a journey, make sure you are prepared for some unexpected behaviour. Your baby likes to see the familiar faces, predictable surroundings around him as it has now become routine. Visiting a new place or a stranger could upturn their sense of security and make them restless.
37 Week Old Baby Development
By week 37, your baby will start remembering and registering information in her tiny brain. He or she can recollect where their toys are located around the house and also mimic actions seen about a week ago. These skills exhibit their recalling skills- the ability to remember details of any experience specific to something for a short period. A conscious memory of specific events is not likely to develop until the two or three years of age when they start speaking.
38 Week Old Baby Development
The barrage of words that your baby has heard since birth is now beginning to weave its magic. The understanding of these words is definitely out there, loud and clear, but the ability to use the words is far more restricted. The constant jabbering of words will not start to sound like real words, sentences or even phrases. Your baby is blabbering something in a manner of trying to convey a message. Don’t look quizzical and respond to it to encourage speech. Your baby will also follow the tone of your voice than your actual words. Babies can understand the emotions that underline your tone and also relate to your expressions. Communicate more to improve their ability to speak sooner.
39 Week Old Baby Development
You baby’s personality is budding. Broad smiles, actions and gesticulations at everyone they meet, sometimes coy and shy when around strangers are quite common traits at this stage. Your baby may now take charge boldly or gauge a situation carefully before bonding with others. You may come across those occasional mood swings, or dramatic behaviour is owing to temperamental changes.
Baby's Health
Your 9-month old is not due for any shots or immunizations. You will need to prepare for a routine doctor’s visit when your baby is around 12 months old. However, babies at this age are prone to ear infections. If your baby has had several instances of ear-ache, it is best to discuss a long-term solution for the problem with your doctor.
If your baby is bottle-fed, you can stop sterilizing the bottles if you feel confident. However, remember to wash them thoroughly with hot, soapy water and rinse them well.
Baby Milestones - 9 Months
The developmental milestones in your nine-month-old can be categorized into three categories – cognitive, physical, and social and emotional. Each category has a set of typical individual accomplishments and associated traits.
Cognitive Development:
This pertains to the mental prowess, analytical abilities and prudence of the baby which are displayed as below:
Mimicking gestures and sounds
Your baby’s cognitive ability will help to imitate gestures and sounds at nine months of age. A child can decipher when a parent asks him to make a sound or gesticulate.
Miming syllables
A baby would be able to repeat words formed with one or two syllables like Mama and Dada even though it may not be directed to the right person.
Understands the importance of “No.”
Your baby will understand that “No” is a negative instruction and understands the purpose of the command. The child will avoid doing anything that will evoke a negative response from parents.
Pointing
Your baby will point towards objects, people or direction to display their interest.
Locating things
Babies have a distinct cognitive ability to locate a hidden object with their sharpened memory at this stage.
Physical changes:
Crawling, sitting and standing without support
By the ninth month, your baby will crawl effortlessly. An infant can even crawl and sit for a long period of time owing to stronger lower back muscles. The leg muscles are stronger and can support the weight of the body. Some babies can even stand up with support.
Grasping and holding objects
The index finger and the thumb can touch each other (pincer grasp), helping the baby to get a grip on objects to hold. They can use this grip to hold their spoon while eating.
Parachute reflex
The body automatically puts the hands forwards when the head faces down. It is the body’s own way of preventing a head injury during a fall.
Increase use of limbs
At nine months, babies use their arms and hands to pass or throw objects.
Sharp sight
Ocular muscles, which strengthen the eye movement help the baby to track moving objects.
Sleep pattern
Your baby might sleep less during the day and sleep for longer hours during the night.
Social and Emotional Development:
Your baby will now start developing social interacting skills, behaviour and emotional state of being too.
Comfortable around primary caretakers and familiar faces
Your baby will prefer to be with you or his caregiver and would cry if separated. They will enjoy physical contact and try as much to please you. Babies at nine months love to be around their known faces like grandparents, family friends who visit often.
Anxious around strangers
A baby panics and cries when amidst strangers and new faces. A baby will crawl towards a parent however friendly the stranger may be.
Preference for toys
Babies may prefer some toys to others as they like playing and exploring new things with them.
Each baby is unique, and all of these milestones may appear and develop at a different pace. There could be signs which indicate poor development and you could seek medical intervention.
Behaviour
This month will probably be characterised by high pitched squeals as your baby is developing their vocal chords. Babies differ, some are passive, some loud or some completely quiet. Observe your baby’s eyes keenly when there is a loud noise. Their eyes should move according to the decibel levels and focus on the object that is making the noise. Watch how they move their body very closely. It is the parents who are the first to notice any developmental issues or physical problems in their baby. Early medical intervention, even if the issue seems negligible could prove worthwhile later on.
A 9 Month-Old Baby's Activities
With increased flexibility in moving the body, babies can be encouraged to exert themselves physically. Try to engage them in activities to grab or pass things to move their limbs. Try and help them to stand for some time if they are capable of holding and standing up.
With improved sight, vision and cognitive skills babies can now pay more attention and understand things. Spend more time with them by reading, singing or just talking to them to stimulate communication and enhanced mental agility.
Babies start developing teeth at this stage, and you could offer them teethers filled with jelly. Anything sweet could be offered to soothe their aching gums.
With a strong pincer grasp, you could encourage your baby to pick up their spoon and eat. It may sound messy, but it is a great way to inculcate independence and also learn to hold objects.
9 Month Old Baby Care
A few simple things to help to care for your nine-month-old baby:
Talk and engage your baby in conversations to help them decipher words.
Listen and respond keenly to their muffled babbling to encourage communication.
Schedule play time and play as many engaging games like peekaboo, making animal sounds, passing things to make your baby feel loved and secured.
Reading is a habit that opens a world to them. Read diligently to expand the horizons of their imagination and for better learning ability at a later stage.
Involve in physical activity to strengthen the muscles for walking and running.
Ensure your home is baby safe as your baby can now grab anything and pop it in their mouth.
Feeding
Let your child explore their food by trying to eat themselves. It does sound like a mess, but it helps them relate to how food is put in their mouth. Mealtime should not be controlled, but it should be a learning activity where the baby eventually becomes independent. Start by helping them pick up finger food like chopped fruits and vegetables in a variety of colours. Encourage them to use a spoon to feed themselves their pureed food even though it is messy.
Sleeping
At nine months, babies may reduce their hours of sleep and this transition could make them cranky and tired. Watch out for signs like itchy eyes, constant whining or any other cues. Do not let your baby get overtired and try not to stay awake too late. Lost sleep could be compensated at night. Establish a routine for everyone’s benefit.
Tips for Parents
With visible changes in their behaviour, parents must try to engage their infants of nine months in baby activities.
Infant development at 9 months must be tracked and monitored. Support your child in their endeavour to stand and walk rather than frighten them with your fears.
Your paediatrician could give you the best feedback on your baby’s weight. Percentile or growth charts are a good way to track 9 month baby weight and see how your child is doing in terms of physical growth.
An exciting phase, at nine months your baby is moving into an adorable age where they will be learning to speak, walk, talk, run and much more. It is the ideal time to lay a strong foundation for their personality development.

Your Baby Won't be Spoiling Your Walls With Her Scribbling With These 4 Easy Tricks in Place!
When your little one is growing, their curiosity and creativity develop as well. And before you know it, these little geniuses are on their way to becoming budding Picassos! And well, the walls of your house are their canvas. But it's definitely a nightmare for mommies!
'No, you aren't supposed to draw on the wall, that's what papers are for'
'Did you just use a permanent marker all over the living room's wall? Again?'
Sounds familiar? Well that's probably because you use these sentences quite often while talking to your growing artists. These creative geniuses have so many ideas that they find scribbling all over your living room wall the best way to express them. While for them it is creativity, for you it definitely is a constant struggle which no amount of warnings, sweet talking or scolding can help with.
It is observed that toddlers absolutely love the sounds of pounding crayons and gazing at their magical creations on a wall. They feel happy from the motion and surprising appearance of lines when they put the crayon and the wall in contact.Although these may be seen as creative responses, we mothers certainly worry about the damage it does to the walls.Who doesn’t want a pretty and neat home but without restricting the child’s creativity? Well, here are some tricks that you can adopt to deal with the situation!
4 Tricks to Keep Your Walls Scribble-Free!
Here are the tricks you can try!
1. Create a Designated Wall
Well, it's always better to define boundaries but it's even better to create alternatives. One cannot possibly expect kids to change their habits overnight, but these habits can certainly be channelized better. So, a simple solution for this would be to have one designated wall in the house, preferably in or near their room,on which they have the freedom to draw, scribble and create anything.
But if you are still sceptical about this one, here's a trick. Cover the wall with a large sheet of chart paper. Alternatively, you could also get this wall painted with chalkboard paint. So, whenever they scribble on the wall, it will be easier to clean it.
2. Keep Washable Crayons Handy
Replace all crayons with washable ones. So whenever your little one draws their masterpiece you can be assured that it isn't permanent and can be removed.Alternatively, make sure you have the talk where you tell them that walls aren't the place they're supposed to draw on, but a paper is. It's important to keep instilling that message in their minds.
3. Provide Other Outlets for Them to Express Their Creativity
Do not curb your child's creativity, instead give him other outlets to express their talent! For example, if the weather is good, allow them to draw on the pavement in your veranda.Use bath paints and crayons to play with and scribble on bath tiles during bath time. Also, if it snows where you stay, a snowman is always the best idea!
4. Express Disappointment, Not Anger
Finally, patience is the key when it comes to kids. If you have repeatedly told your little one to not draw or scribble on the walls and they continue doing so,chances are that you will get irritated and sooner or later lose your patience. Most parents resort to punishment and expressing anger, but that is not going to help at all.Children comprehend emotions quite well, and therefore expressing disappointment will be more nurturing than expressing anger. They also imitate behaviours, and anger will simply instil a sense of rebellious response. Also, chances are that when you are empathetic, your child will understand what is wrong and what is right. Understanding and not fear is what will help them not repeat a wrong act.
Scribbling is a very important identifier of your child's development. It enhances hand-eye coordination, brings out creativity and also improves their motor skills.Toddlers and growing babies have an instinctive eagerness towards this and this indicates how they are moving towards the learning stage.Their brain and body develops and builds a readiness for more difficult tasks later in life. Therefore, it's always the best idea to keep both your concerns and their development in mind. It's a win-win!

The more you think up newer ways to serve it up on a creative platter, the more your toddler will want to give it a try.
3. Use Fun Names for Foods
Renaming foods with cute names is another way of making food fun for toddlers. It gives items more appeal and especially attracts kids. Some funny names given to vegetables by researchers at a US Food and Brand Lab include ‘Silly Dilly Green Beans’, ‘Power Punch Broccoli’ and ‘Tiny Tasty Tree Tops’. You could also try associating the names of a particular fruit or vegetable to something that’s beneficial for them. Naming foods influences a child’s selection and her taste for it to a great extent.
4. Serve Up Variety
Serving a variety of fun and healthy foods to toddlers takes the monotony out of meals. Select different types of food that will be enjoyable for your toddler and let each meal be served with a different taste and texture, if possible. If there’s something your child doesn’t like, try serving it with another food of his or her choice.
5. Get Your Toddler Involved in Food Selection
When grocery shopping, let your toddler have the honour of selecting fruits and vegetables of their choice. Allowing them to pick out what they want to eat is going to make your job easier at the dining table. Getting them involved in meal preparations will also ensure they have a hand in what they eat and how they want to eat it.
For toddlers, food becomes fun to eat when there’s some excitement involved. You can’t give a toddler the same type of food day in and day out and expect her to relish it. Apply cute, adorable ideas to foods and see the difference it makes to your child’s appetite. Read more

7 Tips To Help Preschoolers Build Positive Peer Relationships
Not all children are outgoing in nature and don't feel too comfortable initiating conversations and making new friends. Parents and teachers need to step in and help bring them out of their shells. Only then can they build peer relationships in childhood.
Making friends and building positive relationships with people happens over time, just like learning to hold a pencil, and reading or writing. However, the ability to build relationships differs from one individual to the next too. It can take time for introverts, but may be easier if a kid is outgoing. Nevertheless, it’s possible for quiet and introverted children to forge relationships.
7 Tips on Helping Kids Build Relationships with Peers
1. Encourage Your Preschooler’s Efforts
Every time you see your child with peers of the same age group, encourage him to play with them. However, you should also show support if his first few attempts of making a new friend are unsuccessful. You don’t want him to feel discouraged to try again.
2. Make Him Feel Good About Himself
Speak to your child about his positive qualities. If he’s generous, tell him so. You could suggest that he shares his toy by letting a potential friend play with it. It’ll teach him how to break the ice and will prevent him from becoming demotivated in case his offers of friendship are rebuffed.
3. Let Him Know Making Friends Takes Time
Initiating a friendship is a matter of seconds; however, building a solid relationship takes time. You need to help your child understand the difference. It’ll keep him motivated.
4. Educate about the Qualities of a Good Friend
Kids should be taught the meaning of being a good individual and a good-natured human being. It’ll help them to make better choices as they interact and grow. Here are some of the traits you can list:
Being compassionate and kind
Being honest
Willingness to share happiness and empathise with sadness
Loyalty
A good sense of humour
Sharing similar interests
Positive attitude towards life and people
Joyful in nature and should be fun to be with
Cooperative
Not possessive
Not needy or greedy
5. Character above All!
Teaching kids that it’s the character that matters when choosing friends is very important. Teach them that physical appearance and wealth do not make any difference to a person’s character and shouldn’t affect children’s peer relationships.
6. Initiate Conversations
There are many children who struggle to make new friends because of their shy nature. Parents and teachers need to help them initiate conversations. Organise simple games and activities where every child has to introduce himself to the people in the room.
7. Give Compliments
Kids love to be complimented. Who doesn’t? Compliments make people feel good about themselves and remind him of their positive qualities. Take your kids to a play area and encourage them to approach other children. Compliment them when they do. They can then progress to playing with them.
Peer relationships in child development is a very important concept, one that every parent and teacher needs to focus on. It not only helps kids move well in social circles but also builds confidence and self-esteem. Read more

A. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much. But it is really very difficult to say anything without proper examination. It is advisable to get yourself evaluated by a doctor and follow doctors advise properly. You can also book online doctor’s appointment on FirstCry where the doctor can help you and guide you properly.
Thanks and take care

A. Nasal blockage is very common, specially in small children because of the narrow nasal cavity. Any kind of saline drops like nasal clear will be helpful in dissolving the stuffy secretions, which can be taken out by vnasal aspirator gently also steam inhalation will be helpful also, try to avoid keeping the child directly under the fan.
