Nutrient Requirements of a Baby at This Age
The calorie requirements of a baby at this age depends entirely on his weight. As a general rule of thumb, your 10-month-old baby will need anywhere between 90 and 120 calories per kilogram of his weight. According to the experts, this translates to 793 calories for male babies and 717 calories for female babies. Your baby will need food from the main food groups. You can follow the basic food pyramid chart in order to understand the ratio of fruits, vegetables, and grains that you need to follow while serving food to your child. Apart from this, you will have to make sure that your baby gets an adequate amount of calcium and iron in his diet. This is essential for his physical and mental development.
How Much Food Can Your Baby Eat in a Day?

Best Foods for Your Ten-month-old Baby

You can give him finger food or mashed food instead of breastfeeding him. However, there is no hard and fast rule as to when you must stop breastfeeding entirely. This is a decision that you should take after consulting your doctor. If you do decide to wean your baby, there are some foods that should be your top choice.

Some Tips to Consider
Here are some tips that you should follow before and while feeding your little one.
Sterilize the utensils you use for your baby.
Taste the food you prepare for your little one before giving it to him. Make sure it is neither too hot nor too cold. The food should be warm.
Don't add too much salt. To enhance the flavour of any dish, add in the cheese!
Be sure to adjust the ingredients according to your baby's preferences and nutritional requirements.
Introduce only one solid food at a time. Wait for three days before introducing any other food. This way you will help your child develop a taste for that particular food. You should also look for any symptoms of allergy in three-days time after having introduced the new food.
Consult your paediatrician before introducing any new food.
Feeding a 10-month-old is a period of experimentation. As your baby begins to distinguish between flavours and starts to have favourites, you will be able to develop meal plans that your baby truly enjoys. Keep the food pyramid in mind when planning meals and be sure to consult with your paediatrician on what you can and cannot feed your baby.
Disclaimer:
Each child is different and so use these meal plans as a trusted guide as per your discretion. You can modify the meals according to your child’s preferences / requirements.
Never force-feed a child.
While preparing formula, please follow the instructions on the box and use the measuring spoon provided with it.
While introducing solid food to a baby, initially, one needs to prepare watery gruels/soups. As a child gets older, the caretaker/ mother has to increase the thickness of the liquids slowly according to the child’s capacity to swallow. Foods that are too thick can cause stomach upset/ unnecessary load; while excessively watery food might cause the child to remain hungry.
Some kids may eat less on some days and that is absolutely alright. However, if a child eats less for more than 3-4 consecutive days, please visit a doctor to guide further.
A child may eat less during the teething phase or if he/she may not be feeling well. You could increase breast milk /formula feeds on those days. Re-introduce the foods once the child is back to normal.
Don’t stop feeding if the child is suffering from diarrhoea.
You can alter the taste of the food by adding some natural flavours like cinnamon, jeera powder, lemon juice, curry leaves etc. if the child doesn’t accept the food initially.
If your child suffers from an allergy to nuts, gluten or eggs, please consult your doctor before feeding him/her any foods that may contain them.

Epithelial Cells in Urine during Pregnancy
While pregnant, you will have to take certain tests to ensure that your baby is developing fine and that you are healthy too. Your doctor might suggest a urine test to check for epithelial cells in your urine. They are found on the skin, vessels, urinary tract, and organs. While it is normal to have a few epithelial cells in the urine, a large number can indicate several problems and can be a cause of concern. A large number of cells can be a sign of urinary tract infection, yeast infection, kidney disease, liver disease and certain types of cancer. If you are pregnant, read on to learn about epithelial cells, their normal range in the urine during pregnancy, and more.
What Are Epithelial Cells?
Epithelial cells line the surfaces of our body, such as the skin, inside of the throat, intestines, all the organs and blood vessels. They are tightly packed and function as a barrier between the inside and outside of the body, protecting it from the virus. However, sometimes viruses can find places to get through the epithelial cells to further invade the body and cause disease. Since epithelial cells make up the first layer of tissue on the organs they are present in different forms and sizes to perform different functions wherever they are present. Epithelial cells even line the inside of your food pipe and intestine where they help in the digestion and absorption of food that you eat. In other areas, they secrete enzymes, hormones and mucus in the body.
Types of Epithelial Cells in Urine
Epithelial cells vary in their shape, size and appearance. Majorly, there are three types that can be found in the urine sample.
1. Transitional
These cells originate from the tissues that lie anywhere between the urethra and renal pelvis. They are able to stretch readily to accommodate changes in the volume of liquids in an organ.
2. Squamous
These are large epithelial cells and originate from the female vagina and urethra. Squamous epithelial cells are the most commonly seen cells in urine during pregnancy.
3. Renal Tubular
The renal tubular epithelial cells are from the kidneys and an increased number of these cells can be a sign of a kidney disorder.
Ranges of Epithelial Cells in Urine During Pregnancy
In order to understand the number of epithelial cells, you will need to undergo a urine evaluation test. The technician will look for the number of visible cells in a High Power Field (HPF) under a microscope. Based on how many they see, the tests report will indicate few, moderate or many numbers of epithelial cells. Since these cells are shed from the body as an ongoing build and repair process, the normal range of epithelial cells in urine during pregnancy or prior to it can range from 1 to 5 flat cells under high power field.
Pregnant women generally have a slightly higher count of epithelial cells in the urine as their bodies are going through a lot of changes, therefore even 8-10 epithelial cells in urine should not be alarming during pregnancy. However, further tests to look for urinary tract infection, yeast infection or inflammation caused by another condition should be carried out. Higher ranges of epithelial cells than these are a cause of concern, for example, more and 15 renal tubular epithelial under high power field indicates a problem in the kidneys.
What If You Have High Epithelial Cells in Urine During Pregnancy?
If it is found that you have 15-20 epithelial cells in your urine during pregnancy or more, you need to worry. Technicians have to first rule out the possibility of the presence of large amounts of sediments in the first urine sample that may be concentrated. It means you will have to drink more water and go for another urine test after some time. If there are significant epithelial cells in the subsequent testing, it could be because of one of the following causes:
1. Tissue Sloughing
It is completely normal to lose some epithelial cells on a regular basis. All the organs in your excretory system have epithelial cells and they are shed now and then as part of the body’s ongoing repair and maintenance. If you drink less fluids before a test and the urine is concentrated, it is possible to get a sample with high epithelial cells. 2. Contamination
It is easy to contaminate the sample collecting cup if you do not follow the proper procedure to collect urine. If your genital is not clean prior to the test, it could contaminate the sample as there would be an accumulation of epithelial cells which would pass into the sample container. The same could happen if you fail to properly use the cleaning wipes provided to you to clean your genitals. Sometimes the cup can get contaminated when you touch its interior or it may have contaminants from the start, these could also throw off the readings. If you have suspicions of any of these, ask for another cup for a fresh sample to clear all doubts.
3. Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs)
Urinary tract infections generally begin at the urethra from where the bacteria proliferate upward into the urinary system such as the bladder and finally the kidneys. When the bladder lining is irritated or inflamed, it causes sloughing of the epithelial cells in the bladder which can be found in the urine sample. In a severe UTI case which has made its way to the kidneys, it is possible to find renal epithelial cells in the urine samples and the doctor would treat the infection accordingly. It is important to note however that there could be other serious causes which can lead to similar test results as a UTI and as such, your doctor would look into it carefully. When random urine samples come back with high epithelial cells, UTIs must be ruled out first before proceeding further.
4. Kidney Disease
Pathologists also look for a particular type of cells coming from the kidneys. Finding epithelial cells from the renal tubes could indicate a severe infection in the kidneys or other kidney issues. The renal tubes function to filter out blood and produce urine. Finding a large number of these cells in a urine sample could be an indication of nephrotic syndrome. This condition is always caused by damage to the kidneys.
Treatment that follows the test depends on the cause of the abnormal numbers of epithelial cells and their types. Most of the UTIs are caused by bacteria and hence treated with antibiotics. The viral UTIs are treated with antivirals. Kidney disease is treated by managing the underlying cause such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and blood sugar levels. Your doctor may also advise you on the following:
Healthy dietary changes
Cutting back on high-salt and high-cholesterol foods
Blood pressure medication to manage the progression of the disease and preserve kidney function
Drinking plenty of water to stay well hydrated
Cranberry juice to ward of UTIs
Finding epithelial cells in urinalysis is generally not a cause for alarm. Further testing and confirmation can rule out other variables and establish a cause. If you have a large number of epithelial cells in your urine, consult your doctor - she will guide you the best. Take precautionary measures and have a healthy pregnancy!

Shame on Kareena Kapoor for Neglecting her Child: You'll Love Bebo's Response to This Hateful Comment
Does being a mother mean that one cannot take care of herself and her health? Being a mother is difficult already, but being a celebrity mother is synonymous to being scrutinised for every move you make! This recent incident that happened to Kareena Kapoor is a perfect example of why the society goes berserk when a celebrity mommy decides to think about herself too.
A mother’s love for her little one is unparalleled to any other thing in this world. It starts with a 9 month journey and lasts a lifetime. However, does that mean that she needs to prove this love and care in front of the world time and again? Or does it imply that once you become a mother you cannot take care of your health and well-being and do things that make you happy?
Being a mother is undoubtedly a tough job and no one can ever prepare you enough for it. You learn on-the-job and take on each day as it comes. New mommy Kareena Kapoor too has been learning and growing as a mom. However, time and again, she has been under the radar for ‘neglecting’ her baby boy Taimur, and is being portrayed as an irresponsible mother who only cares about her job, friends and ‘size zero’!
How Kareena’s Motherhood Journey Was Always under The Lens
Kareena was very active even during her pregnancy. She continued work for a while, was seen on advertisements, made public appearances, and soon became a style icon and a role model for all expecting mothers. As many would say, she rocked her pregnancy completely.
Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan became proud parents of the adorable little boy Taimur in December 2016. Since his birth, the little boy became the talk of the town for his name, and Bebo received a lot of bashing for the same. Even post that, the couple were seen hosting a Christmas party and were criticised for spending time with friends without their newborn.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BUysVY5lLSe/?utm_source=ig_embed
Bebo is often spotted outside at events, parties and brunches with friends and family and that doesn’t go down well with a few people in the society (who surprisingly have an opinion on how she should be raising Taimur or living her life!)
Kareena has always been very particular about her health and fitness too, and in fact, even before her pregnancy, she was much talked about for endorsing the ‘size zero’ phenomenon. This surprisingly caught on to her even after she became a mother. Soon after her delivery, she was spotted hitting the gym – and people considered it as her ‘obsession’ with her figure. She was therefore ‘an ignorant mother’.
Always being scrutinized for every move you make is something celeb moms have often had to face. Be it Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s weight gain or Kareena Kapoor’s weight loss, the gossip mongers can never have enough of it. And very recently, a Twitter user just took this criticism to a new level of hatred. He posted:
“Taimur Ali Khan, you are so cute, sadly you will never know true meaning of mom, shame on Kareena Kapoor Khan for neglecting her child”.
Not just this, many others have even pointed out that she is an ignorant mother as she puts herself fist and goes to the gym sans her little one. “Why does she have to leave her baby and go to the gym?” was another comment made about this issue.
How Bebo Responded to Such Criticism – Like a Boss!
Every mother is different and the way she leads her life and raises her baby will vary. It doesn’t make her a good or a bad mother, it is simply a function of her discretion. Responding to the criticism, Kareena said,
“Going out with friends doesn't make me any less of a good mother. Motherhood doesn't mean a woman must give up on herself. It's easy to see a photograph of me and jump to conclusions, but people don't know my equation with my child. We are capable of multitasking.”
Amrita Arora, one of Kareena's closest friends, shared this picture on her Instagram account. Amrita even attended all the wedding functions of Saif and Kareena even though she was pregnant at the time.

Speaking on her weight loss issue too, Kareena very aptly shut down internet bullies by saying:
"If I am going to the gym, it's not about getting size zero. So many people and girls went like, 'Why does she have to leave her baby and go to the gym?' I read these comments and I feel that's the most stupid thing ever because having a child doesn't mean you can't feel good.
If you are feeling good, if your mental health is good then automatically your child feels well. Taimur is happy and everyone is happy. I am one of the most relaxed and chilled out girls."
Check out Bebo working out with her close friend Amrita Arora. Now, that's what we call stamina!

How Kareena Balances Work and Motherhood
Just like every working mother, Kareena too has her fair shares of apprehensions of leaving Taimur and resuming work. The 36 year actor is preparing to get back to movies and finish pending projects and has revealed that she intends to take Taimur to the sets if she needs to.
"I'll decide how I wish to go about my future projects after Veere Di Wedding releases. Getting back to work after having Taimur is a new experience. Although he will be with me when we start shooting in August, even travelling with me outdoors, I don't know how he will adjust to my long absence, if the film demands it. So, this film will be my testing ground in many ways."
Watch the video below to see mommy Kareena talk about little Taimur - the apple of her eyes!

Motherhood is not the end but the beginning of a beautiful journey for every woman. It certainly doesn’t imply that a woman should stop living for herself. Instead ladies, you must do what you feel is right for you and your baby because mommy always knows best! Read more

A. many times and the most common cause would be due to accumulation of milk clots and sometimes it can be neurogenic pain and sometimes it might be a partx any local mass like lymph nodes or tissue pain.
if it is not improving with simple massage as well as simple hot compressesx and expression of accumulated milk then meet your doctor at the earliest for local examination.
you can take paracetamol for pain.
