How To Tame your Frizzy Mane This Summer
What is frizzy hair if not a lion’s mane! Fussing with your locks every morning can be frustrating but with a few easy frizzy hair tips, every day can turn out to be a good hair day. The art of battling the frizz is easier to learn than you thought.
Endless summer days can play havoc with your hair. You look into a mirror and you could very well be staring at a lioness! It’s okay if you’re looking to sport an afro, but if you want to control frizzy hair, try out some of these simple tips.
How to Make Frizzy Hair Smooth in Summer
1. Moisturise Your Locks
Moisturise hair using a conditioner to keep it smooth and less frizzy. After all, conditioning is one of the all-time summer care tips for frizzy hair. Your tresses need protection from humidity and a good conditioner forms a protective layer over your strands to keep frizz out.
2. Coat it with a Serum
If you find that a conditioner isn’t doing the job, use a serum on damp hair. It’s also cheaper compared to expensive frizzy hair treatments at the salon. Just don't apply it directly to your scalp as that’ll cause your hair to look oily.
3. Pat it Dry
Towelling hair dry is unavoidable but you must do it right. Gently squeeze out excess water and pat your hair dry to prevent outer hair cuticles from being aggravated and frizzy. A better way to dry hair is to use a lint-free towel as it’s gentler and works wonders in reducing annoying flyaways.
4. Don’t Overdo The Shampoo
The heat and sweat of summer can make you want to wash your hair everyday but overdoing certainly won’t help your cause. Too much shampooing strips hair of its vital oils leaving it more susceptible to frizzing. Washing hair two to three times a week is enough to keep it healthy.
5. Use a Wide-Toothed Comb
In your struggle to fight frizz, remember the best time to comb your hair is when it’s a little damp. After you’re done with the serum application, run a wide-toothed comb through it. It’ll detangle hair and reduce breakage. Once it’s dry, you can use a soft brush or your fingers to smoothen your hair.
6. Take The Natural Way Out
One of the best remedies for frizzy hair in summer is to stay away from the blow dryer and other heat styling tools. You don’t want your hair becoming any drier than it already is. Allowing it to air dry will keep the moisture locked in and your tresses less frizzy.
7. If You Can’t Fight it, Embrace it
If you’ve got a mop that defies every anti-frizz remedy, don’t sweat it. The messy look is always in! Just tie your hair into a bun or a ponytail with a few strands falling to frame your face. You can also try a messy half updo with a few studded bobby pins to add style.
If not properly cared for, frizzy hair can turn out to be a nightmare. However, these frizzy hair tips should help you be the envy among everyone breaking their heads over frizz! With some maintenance and a few tools, you’ll soon be asking what frizzy hair even is. Read more

10 Positive Qualities You Didn't Even Realize You Have
Did you know that you are a tremendous human being with several people looking up to you? Guess how we know this? Well, you're a mom and a woman and a finer one than you have ever thought!
In your life journey, as you teach your kids the values you have always held dear, and endeavour to grow each day, you mustn't forget yourself. It is important to cherish yourself and remember that you are what you make of life. Basking in the knowledge that you possess positive qualities not everyone does is a good start to the year, right?
Check out these reasons to appreciate yourself and embark on a journey of self awareness and satisfaction. In 2016, pledge to love yourself and watch the world fall in love with you!
Brilliant Qualities We Know You Have
1. You have a Great Sense of Humour
How else do you handle food-on-the-floor and colors-on-the-walls day in and day out? All with a cheerful face too!
2. You are as Patient as the Hills!
Sleepless nights, toddler tantrums, work life balance – everything may take you for a toss but you have reserves of patience that are wondrous to the rest of us. Only occasionally does your patience dwindle and woe betide everyone then!
3. You are Connected to Spirituality and Inner Beauty in the World
Fluff, superficiality and material possessions don't delight you as much as your baby's smile, the thought behind the greeting card your tot made for you, and the peace you feel during the rare me-time.
4. You have Terrific Family Values and also Help your Kids Imbibe Them
The Grandpas and Grandmas from both sides of the family are connected thanks to you. Family comes first for you and you are always willing to go the extra mile for them.
5. You're stronger than you know!
Tired out after a long day spent mommying, you still have the strength to greet your kids with a smile, whip up delicious foods, and be all set to repeat the next day. You probably make do with just a few good things you do for yourself, such as a guilty cup of coffee.
6. Your sense of understanding and consideration is exemplary
It seems perfectly reasonable to you that your children want new foods for evening snacks and their toys continue to be jumbled up even after their best efforts. They are kids and they are learning – and your understanding fuels them along.
7. You're a great teacher – of everything from the alphabets, to bringing up a fine young person!
You are your children's first teacher. You're also the one they will always cherish and remember. Your kids grow up learning from you and appreciating what you have done for the society. They can never be absent in your class either!
8. You are always fair, come what may
Mommy loves her kids a lot but she is never unfair. You know the perfect way to resolve sibling disputes and chocolate is not your sole solution to problems. While there may only be a few appreciating what you have done for other people, trust us when we say you're there in their hearts.
9. You have a fun streak in you that you love to unleash every now and then!
With kids, you often become one too and get your hands and feet dirty in the mud. There is a reason you are their best friend and confidante.
10. Most importantly, you love the small pleasures of life. And we salute you for it
The morning sunshine, your cup of steaming hot chai, your baby's small little fingers and toes, your husband's good night hug...your life is complete with little sources of joy and that's exactly how you like it.
There, Mommy, did you see just how many reasons you have for self appreciation?
Fall in love with yourself this year and you will see the world smile and laugh with you. Read more

Whatever is Your Choice, It's the Best - Be Stress-free and Enjoy It!
Long post alert !!!!!!!
Just pouring out my thoughts:
I have seen many breastfeeding groups on facebook saying that giving formula is considered as a crime. Let me walk you all through my journey.
My baby's birth weight was 3.65 kgs. I had a C-section and baby was fed formula for the first 3 days. Then there was a latching issue. I tried and tried. Everyone around me said I have to do it, otherwise, the milk will stop coming. I got severe nipple cracks, cried every time I fed, and still, I tried and tried. Baby used to cry all the time, the whole night; after feeding too, baby was not satisfied. Then I used to give formula. My breast would leak but somehow my baby was not getting enough.
Weight gain was not as per paediatrician's recommendations. He asked me to give formula after every feed. It was very cumbersome... but still, I tried. Everywhere giving formula was treated as a crime... It made me question my motherhood. People used to say, when the baby cries mother, leaks (was not happening with me). I cried silently.
I reduced formula to once a day. So much stress on breastfeeding everywhere... So many nuskha...!
We had a ceremony on the 10th day in which I had to express some breast milk and throw it in a well to maintain my supply. I tried and tried. I couldn't get a drop of milk. I cried the whole night. And I leaked.
Fast forward to a few weeks - after 1 month, pain developed in my breast. Severe pain; after every feed, I used to cry. Doctors said they are clogged ducts - milk is left, express it out! I was not getting, my baby was not getting enough. He was hungry. If there was milk, why was my baby hungry?
I met a paediatrician, she told me, "Try and latch your baby as much as you can. Give him formula if you feel he is still hungry. Don't stress yourself over this. Formula is not bad and is not a crime. It is the closest thing to breast milk. DON'T KEEP YOUR BABY HUNGRY. Offer breast milk and if it's not enough, give formula."
Mothers know best when a child is hungry. Sense it and do accordingly. There is no thumb rule for this. No doctor, no lactation consultant, and no other mom can teach you how to read your kid.
That day everything got solved on its own. I breastfeed the whole day. I give formula once every day, whenever I feel he needs more. We are happy and stress-free. So mommies - SENSE IT AND ENJOY IT!
