How Can You Help Your Child Get through the Night When He Has Ear Pain?
Some useful tips which may aid your kid to pass the night in case of ear pain can be:
In case of ear pain at night, medicine can be a good option to bring some relief from the ear pain. You can offer your child an apt dose of any child-safe over-the-counter pain killer like Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen.
Home remedies include the use of a warm compress. You can use a clean, warm washcloth or a heating pad for this purpose. Apply it to your child’s ear to alleviate the pain and discomfort.
Elevating the child’s head and keeping the sore ear side facing upward may bring respite from child ear pain at night.
Provide plenty of fluids to your child or have him chew gum to support swallowing as it may unblock the Eustachian tube by draining excess fluid if it is present in the middle ear.
Applying tea tree oil as ear drops for ear pain can also be considered. Tea tree oil has potent antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic qualities which may prove beneficial in relieving ear pain. Be sure to mix a few drops of olive oil with tea tree oil before applying it.
At times ear pain can get triggered by some compression in the ear canal. Neck rotation exercises can significantly reduce the pressure and lessen the pain.
When to Call the Doctor?
Not all earaches need instant medical attention. However, you may want to call the doctor in the following cases:
If your child accidentally lodged some toy or object in his ear earlier in the day
If your child seems to have a stiff neck (unable to bend chin to touch the chest) and severe earache
If you notice swelling, redness behind the ear or on the skin
If your child is running a constant high fever
If you see blood or pus draining from his ear
If your child appears weak and very sick
Ear pain can give the entire household a sleepless night. It is important to note that an earache does not necessarily mean an infection. So, refrain from administering any antibiotics to your child unless recommended by your doctor.

How to remove the effects of evil eye for babies and kids.
Very often we find that the little ones are getting more cranky than before or falling sick , not having food properly , not sleeping well ... All these are the signs of evil eye.
New born babies and toddlers have quick effects of the evil eye. As new mom's we all are very worried about these changes in our babies as we actually don't know why they are behaving so.
What is this evil eye??
It is nothing but when ever someone admires the babies for eg if someone see's your baby and say " oh how cute he/ she is ", "how well they are responding" then the child will have the effects of evil eye.
So how do we remove such negative energies??
Here are some simple techniques which I follow in my home and ofcourse most of India as well
1. Crystal salt technique.
For this method we will use Crystal salt and if you don't have crystal Salty then you can use the regular salt as well which we use in our kitchen.
How we do this: Do this when nobody else is around. If doing this for toddlers ask them to stand quietly and if doing for babies anyone can hold them . Take some crystal Salt/ regular salt in your left hand and close your hand . Now rotate your hand in circular motion around the baby / toddler for three times and anti clock wise three times and say " Thu Thu Thu" to the salt which is closed in your hand . Throw the salt in a sink or anywhere where nobody should stamp it. Wash/ wipe baby face and you are done . This is the most simple method it will not take more than 5 minutes.
2. Red chillies technique.
For this method you will need few red chillies. To burn these red chillies after the ritual you can either use coal or you can directly burn it on the stove.
How to do this : you will take few red chillies in your left hand rotate around the baby / toddler for seven times both in clock wise and anti clock wise direction then burn the red chillies either on coal or your stove directly. Wash/ wipe the baby face .
3. Egg technique.
You will need an egg for this technique.
Take an egg in your left hand and same as the other techniques rotate it around the baby in clock wise and anti clock wise. After rotating you should not put it in your house . You have to throw this egg outside the house where nobody will stamp it, the best way is you should put it under the tree.
By following these simple techniques the baby will feel relaxed . The best time to do these techniques is at the night time before you put your baby to sleep. However you can use them whenever you feel that the baby is having and evil eye effect. You can also do it as soon as you come home from a party or function where many eyes were on your baby. Still if the baby is not feeling well or not having food properly please consult a doctor for proper medication .

4 Skin Problems Babies Risk Facing in Winter - and The One Solution That Tackles Them All
Sunlit afternoons, hot chocolate and comfy bedding – there is so much magic that winter brings along. If you are a mother, you can’t stop gushing over how rosy-red your baby’s cheeks are and how adorable he looks in his winter-wear. However, for your little one, winter can also lead to something that’s not at all pleasant: skin problems! The likelihood of skin-related problems increases during winter and our sensitive babies are often the most common target.
In the winter season, the natural moisture content of the air is very low. This means that the air is drier than usual. While adults can handle this change fairly well, our babies have extremely delicate skin. In fact, a baby’s skin loses moisture up to five times faster than an adult’s skin So when the surrounding air is dry, their likelihood of moisture-loss also increases substantially. This is especially so during and after bath-time, when they are particularly vulnerable to losing essential moisture and nutrients and thereby facing dryness in skin
Here are the four most common skin problems babies face in winter, and why
1. Overall dryness
That feeling we get of skin being easily scratched and stretched to touch – imagine what it can do to our babies! When our skin gets exposed to the merciless winter air, it tends to lose its natural moisture and starts drying out. This results in a feeling of overall dryness that’s more pronounced in the facial region, knees and feet. It can even lead to rashes in babies.
2. Chapping – of the cheeks and lips
This problem doesn’t spare anyone – indeed, many of us end up licking our lips to stop them from feeling dry in the winter. Chapping occurs when the skin is intensely dried out, so much that it starts peeling. This usually occurs in the cheeks and lips and can become really painful if not treated. Chapped skin can even start oozing blood.
3. Eczema
This is a condition that looks like an itchy rash and can lead to dry, red and inflamed skin. While eczema often runs in the family, it can flare up during the winter months. Sometimes, if your baby has been unwell or been exposed to a sudden change in temperature, this too can bring on an attack of eczema. Goes without saying, this is very uncomfortable and even painful for your child.
4. Flakiness in the scalp
It’s not just adults who struggle with a flaky and crusty scalp in the winter months; babies can have it worse! The dryness can also aggravate cradle cap, in case your baby is already suffering from it. This condition leads to a greasy scalp and flakes. While this is not harmful to your baby and usually goes away on its own, the winter air can delay things.
The one solution for your baby’s skin problems in winter
When trying to figure out how to protect our baby from these problems, it is important that we look at the main cause: the lack of moisture. How many times have you observed your baby’s skin after a bath, or before bed-time, and found it dry? It must have made you question the necessity of baths in the first place, and long for something that could return all the lost hydration. The good news is that herein lies the solution to all winter skin-problems: moisturisation.
