The amount of calorie that a child needs varies according to age, gender, BMI, activity etc. Don’t stress the child by daily weight checks at home because it deviations on a daily basis are natural.
2. Low-Glycemic Diet
You don't need to totally eliminate carbs from your kid's diet. All you need to do, is select low-or medium-glycemic carbs like broccoli, carrots, apples, berries, beans, nuts, peanut butter, plain yogurt with honey and fruits, milk, cheese, pineapple, sweet potatoes, banana, dried fruit, pasta, high-fiber cereal, brown rice, and ice cream. Avoid high-glycemic carbs like corn, potatoes, white rice, French fries, chips, juice, jam, sweet and frozen yogurt, breads, pancakes, waffles, pizza, popcorn, instant oats, and some cereals. The glycemic level is the rate at which carbohydrate rich food converts to glucose. Studies suggest that low-glycemic food keeps a kid full longer and happier because it takes longer to digest and blood sugar stays stable. They also have more fiber and are less processed.
3. More Fruits, Veggies
Generally, you can add more vegetables and fruits of many colours to your kid’s diet. Serve whole fruits rather than fruit juices. This is because juices have more calories, while whole fruits are more filing and fiber-rich that is good for digestion. However, not all fruits and veggies are good for weight loss. Some may be high glycemic, that we have discussed in the point above.
4. More Water
Don’t allow the child to drink juice, energy and cold drinks, soda etc. when they are thirsty because they cause weight gain. The best thirst-quencher is water.
5. Good Sleep
Ideally, kids need 10 hours of sleep and teenagers need 9 hours of sleep. Early and good sleep is essential for proper nutrition and metabolism that helps maintain body weight.
6. Minimize Sugar, Salt
Minimize high sugar content food like candies, sweetened breakfast cereals, flavored drinks and yogurt, sweetened beverages, fruit juice, soda drinks etc. Settle for low-sugar substitutes like home-made fruit puree; fruit ice pops; cookies, pizzas, sandwiches made of whole-wheat; fruit salads etc. Even salt needs to be minimized. The sodium content of salt makes the body retain water and bloat up. Avoid table salt and canned and frozen food that are high on sodium.
7. More Protein

Do not allow kids to watch TV, play video games and couch around for hours. Ideally, restrict it to one to two hours a day.

Don’t give up! Tell the child things won’t change overnight.

I have always been an ambitious woman since my childhood, weather it be in academics or extra curricular activities. In school and college, there was not a single activitie/ fest which I was kot a part of. During the end of college days, I have tried for a wide variety of professions starting from Indian Army, Indian Airforce to IT companies. I have always been a quick learner. Having a master's degree in biotechnology, I am currently in IT field learning how to write computer code. I would travel, alone and with friends, explore new places and was never idle at home. I enjoyed my busy life. At that age, the teens to the early twenties, that was the definition of womanhood to me.
Once I got married, my priorities have changed. I became more centred and something new called "work life balance" has come into the picture. I have changed jobs, learned new technologies so that I can get a job with a good work life balance. It was very important for me to have a balanced personal and professional life after marriage. I knew that quality time was more important than quantity. I learned how to cook (my mom was a great cook before I got married, so I never had to cook), I would look up for interior decoration ideas and try them around my house, while I was still working. I enjoyed this work life balance, though it was a tough juggle. At this age, this was the definition of womanhood to me.
I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and she is currently 6 months old. My entire world shifted towards her and I forget the world whenever I see her beautiful smile. I love taking care of her. At the same time, I'm juggling with spending quality time with my husband, family and my work. It is very easy to quit work after having kids, but I know how hard I worked to get to this position in my job. This juggling with various responsibilities is very difficult, but what is life without it's challenges? One must learn to love this adventure. At this point, I consider this as womanhood and I consider myself as a complete woman after becoming a mother.
With age and with different phases of life, my definition of womanhood has changed. I believe that the real definition of womanhood would be how well a woman juggles with her work, her family and her health. Most importantly, how much is she enjoying this juggle. After all, women are great multi taskers.
I would conclude by saying that I am still in the journey of womanhood, maybe in the beginning of my journey. I have a long way to go and I am excited for the adventure!

He’ll monitor diet and get routine blood and urine examinations done to zero down on a cause and provide treatment. In the case of hormonal imbalance, he'll ask you to consult an endocrinologist.
3. Stay Positive
Once you’re aware of all the facts on short stature, the best way to keep yourself from worrying needlessly is to stay positive and have faith. You must trust your doctor and believe in his line of treatment. Of course, that shouldn’t stop you from getting a second or third opinion especially when he prescribes treatment like growth hormone injections or surgery. In fact, you should get another opinion just to make sure. In the meantime, continue feeding your child nutritious food and give him plenty of love and affection.

Folks have predicted my delivery to be a C-section even during my first trimester concerning my height. I was only 50 kg during my last scan time so their opinion cannot be blamed. But the trust and support that I got from my family was monumental. Finally the day everyone used to scare me about came. It was on September 4, 2018. My labour decision was kept on the two sides of weighing machine. Truthfully speaking, none of the doctors and nurses spoke about any complications in my case which gave me the greatest confidence, lying on the hospital bed. The care and support they showered was inexpressible. I was sure that I was going to have a normal delivery. The pain was unendurable. I couldn't control myself that I yelled at the nurses to operate me and take out the baby. The nurses started laughing at me saying there is no need for an operation for me as the baby was coming down very naturally promoting for a normal delivery. Their laugh at that time made me angry. But the benefit of that was known later only. As they said, everything went normal, and I held my boy in my arms. A perfectly healthy baby.
Postnatal care was also tremendous, that I forgot the pain very easily. Everything was at ease very soon. I can't thank each and everyone enough who aided me throughout my labour and delivery.
What a girl requires in the labour room is nothing but a belief in herself that she can do this. Only the light on our face can boost the doctors' confidence. Height, weight they are all just numbers. You are what you want to be.
Now I am a proud mommy of my prince charming Armaan Adam. Alhamdulillah (Thank God).

A. Nasal blockage is very common, specially in small children because of the narrow nasal cavity. Any kind of saline drops like nasal clear will be helpful in dissolving the stuffy secretions, which can be taken out by vnasal aspirator gently also steam inhalation will be helpful also, try to avoid keeping the child directly under the fan.
