4. Cinnamon

Cinnamon powder - 1 tsp
Oat flour - 1 tsp
Water

Pluto is so far away that it is not visible to the naked eye. It is only visible through powerful telescopes and was discovered that way in 1930 by Clyde Tombaugh when he was comparing the pictures taken by the Lowell Observatory. He noticed that there was an object that moved lightly in pictures taken 6 days apart while the stars remained stationary.
Pluto has a highly elliptical orbit that is egg-shaped and varies in distance greatly from the sun. At its closest, Pluto is 4,446 million km from the sun; at its furthest, it is 7,381 km away from the sun. Radio signals sent to Pluto which travel at the speed of light take 4 hours to reach it!
Pluto was named after the Roman god of the underworld by Venetia Burney, an 11-year-old girl.
Due to its enormous orbit, Pluto takes 248 years to go once around the sun. Therefore, since its discovery in 1930, Pluto has not made even a single orbit around the sun!
Pluto is in a region of the solar system called the Kuiper belt. This region contains thousands of icy and rocky objects orbiting the sun. Lying beyond the orbit of Neptune, the Kuiper belt is sometimes referred to as the “third zone”.
At a diameter of 2,370 km, Pluto is tiny compared to most other planets in the solar system except Mercury. It has a rocky surface made of ice and other gasses.
In 2006 after the discovery of several dwarf planets, it was decided that Pluto cannot be considered a planet. This is because Pluto does not ‘dominate’ its neighbourhood around where it orbits by sweeping up the space of asteroids, comets and other debris like other planets do.
Of all the discovered dwarf planets, Pluto is the second closest to the sun. The first is Ceres, a 945 km wide dwarf planet that orbits in the asteroid belt. Some of the other dwarf planets include Eris, Makemake, Haumea, Triton, etc.
Despite being tiny in size, Pluto has moons as well. It has 5 known moons out of which Charon is the largest one, being half the size of Pluto. The others are Hydra, Kerberos, Nix and Styx. Interestingly, Pluto and Charon are tidally locked; therefore, only one side of the planet sees the moon all the time.
The New Horizons mission was the first sent to Pluto. Launched in 2006, it flew past the dwarf planet in 2015 revealing surprising details about the surface of Pluto. The mission is expected to last till 2026 as it will continue to explore the Kuiper belt objects.
Until the New Horizons sent high-resolution images of the surface of Pluto, astronomers expected it to be icy, dark and blue-ish. Surprisingly, Pluto has a rusty tint resembling Mars.
Of all the photos taken by the New Horizons mission, the one that captured everyone’s imagination was the heart-shaped ice sheet on the dwarf planet. By studying its photos, it is estimated that the ice sheet is no older than 100 million years due to the lack of craters, unlike the rest of Pluto.
As Pluto has been closer to the sun in the last two decades, its ice and other frozen gasses such as methane and carbon dioxide have evaporated to form a thin atmosphere along with nitrogen.
In one of the photos taken by the New Horizons spacecraft, a thin haze can be seen around Pluto. Very little is known about this haze which was discovered only after the photograph was taken.
Pluto, contrary to the giant icy planet it was expected to be, turned out to have many features such as mountains, ice caps and rocky surfaces similar to Earth. Much of the evidence points to the hypothesis that Pluto’s surface has been active over the recent past.
Pluto has been a mysterious celestial object until the recent spacecraft fly-by. The things discovered about this dwarf planet have made it more intriguing since.

I am a mother of a miracle baby! Yes, miracles do happen...
My baby was born prematurely due to complications with my pregnancy. I had IUGR (I will get into the details in my upcoming posts), and my pregnancy was rough! It consisted of uncountable doctor's appointments, NST's, weekly scans, bed rest and whatnot.
Premature delivery is not a choice, it just happens, and it's not anyone's fault! It took me very long to accept this.
I am writing this post to raise awareness about premature births because even I was unaware of it before it happened to me. It can happen to anyone! With awareness comes knowledge, resources and also the confidence of dealing with it.
My NICU journey was an emotional roller coaster. I prayed, prayed and prayed for the health of my baby. I so badly wanted to take him home along with me. I just hung in there; waiting, trusting God, and crossing fingers every day. It broke my heart to see my pregnancy continue in an incubator. No woman would ever imagine that. It broke my heart, but I had to collect the pieces, emerge out to be braver! I had to do it for my sweet little boy - my child, my firstborn.
I had thousands of why's in my mind. Why me? Why does my family have to go through this? Why is my child being poked? Why did it happen? And, then I realised that God chooses his strongest warriors for the greatest battles! This kept me going.
I wish I knew a lot of things about premature births before it happened to me! Had I knew stuff, I would have made fewer mistakes and would have been a little relaxed.
Through my posts, I am trying to help the moms who go through this tough phase. I am gonna share my experience about how being a NICU mom changed me, made me stronger, more patient and a better human being.
And, most importantly, my baby has been inspiring me to think, act, talk positive. He is a born fighter; determined as a shark, super cute and has won my heart!

Which Antidepressants Are Considered Safe During Pregnancy?
Here is a list of antidepressants which are considered safe during pregnancy.
1. Specific SSRI Medications
SSRIs are termed as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. These are usually considered to be safe during pregnancy although they have their own share of complications. These include postpartum haemorrhage where there is heavy bleeding after birth, premature delivery or even reduced weight of the baby. Most SSRIs do not cause any birth defects in the child, except for paroxetine, which has a small risk of heart defect. Other medications that are considered safe are the ones that have citalopram, fluoxetine or sertraline.
2. Specific SNRI Medications
SNRIs are termed as serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors. Most of these medicines are safe to be consumed through pregnancy. Towards the later stages of the pregnancy, there are chances of a higher risk of experiencing heavy bleeding after delivery. Medications containing duloxetine, venlafaxine are considered safe for pregnant women.
3. Bupropion Based Medication
Certain women might be aware of this medicine in the form of Wellbutrin, which is also used to stop smoking. When it comes to depression, this isn’t the medicine usually recommended but is opted for when other medication fails to work properly. Certain research has pointed out that bupropion could be linked to foetal heart defects.
4. Tricyclic Medication
These antidepressants usually contain nortriptyline. These, too, are used only when none of the usual medications has had any effect on depression. Such medicines might be safe during pregnancy, however, they do result in heavy bleeding during delivery, if consumed in the 2nd or 3rd trimester of the pregnancy. Clomipramine also falls under this type of medication, although it has been linked with heart-related defects.
Antidepressants to Avoid When Pregnant
Antidepressants and pregnancy do not always go together very well. There are some of these which should definitely be avoided.
Paroxetine, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, is strongly advised against consumption during pregnancy. There have been links that associate this medication with an increased risk for the foetus to have heart-related defects.
Another class of medication is MAOIs or monoamine oxidase inhibitors. These also include phenelzine and tranylcypromine, both of which should be strongly avoided in pregnancy. These medicines are known to restrict the growth of the foetus.
Alternatives to Medications
Medication may not always be recommended to you if your depression is not severe. In many cases of mild depression, if there exists no history of relapsing into depression again, doctors usually suggest experience psychology based therapy techniques. These include cognitive behavioural therapy and interpersonal therapy, along with exercises. These usually are pretty consistent at keeping depression in control and work on a longer term as well.
Do not opt for any random herbal or exotic remedies as a way to treat your depression. These can cause more harm than the aforementioned medications, many of which could be irreversible.
Risk of Taking Antidepressant for Baby
There are certain effects of antidepressants during pregnancy, especially in the last trimester or so. Consumption of antidepressants in that stage can result in the baby experiencing some respiratory distress, irritation, refraining from feeding and certain jitters, for up to 4 weeks after pregnancy. This, however, should not cause you to stop taking medication or reducing the dosage since that can increase depression to set in after delivery.
What Happens When You Stop Taking Antidepressants in Pregnancy?
Medication is absolutely essential to keep the depression under control. If you skip any doses, it can risk the depression setting in heavily. This may result in a bad emotional state, improper care during pregnancy, as well as psychosis after delivery.
Can You Switch Medication?
Medication for depression during pregnancy is usually suggested to be consistent and in the minimally required doses. Switching is mostly avoided since there are risks with the substituted drug failing to treat depression appropriately. You may find yourself feeling deeply morose, and you may not want to do anything. You may not do your day to day chores, you may not take care of your house, you may neglect your work etc., and in short, you may shy away from your duties and responsibilities. We understand that you may lack the urge to do anything. However, you need to push yourself. You can start by taking baby steps in the right direction; for example, instead of your full-time job which will demand a lot of your energy, you could look for a part-time job to keep you occupied for a while but still gives you the time to rest during the day. Set yourself little goals that you can tick off your list every day.
13. Try Something New
Day-to-day activities may bring in monotony, and you may not want to do anything. However, doing something that you have never done before can ignite a lost spark. Enrol yourself for a Zumba class, go on a hiking trip, join a cooking workshop; the options are endless! There are many such activities that you can try out to push yourself!
14. Reward Your Efforts
Self-motivation is very important as it keeps your spirits high. The greatest way to keep yourself motivated is by rewarding your own efforts. Who says you cannot pat your own back? Yes, you can! If you have joined a new dance class and you have been regularly going there, it certainly calls for a celebration. You don’t have to throw a party to celebrate yourself. Even something as small as realising the fact that you are making progress may help a great deal.
15. Find Solace in Nature
How often do we go outdoors? We all may struggle in answering this question because most of us spend our entire day indoors only. However, getting out of your house and spending time in the midst of nature is important, especially if you are fighting depression. Spending time out in the sun helps you feel less stressed and anxious because your body releases endorphins when you bask in the sun. These hormones will make you feel happier and better.
All the tips mentioned above are extremely safe, and you can try them without even thinking twice. We hope you incorporate these lifestyle changes and feel better. However, lifestyle changes alone may not be sufficient enough to help you come out of this mental state. You must seek the help of a therapist and take medication, if necessary, to get better.
