Scientific and Informational Room Decor for Kids
Ditch the traditional kids room decoration ideas of pink for girls and blue for boys, and opt for something that is creative and gets your child thinking. As a parent the onus is on you to turn your child's room into something that is special and unique.
Your child's room is a playground, a place to relax, and also one place in the world where your child can express himself completely. Little wonder this space needs to reflect his/her choices and be a fun spot where he/she learns a thing or two too. And what better way to do that, than with room decorations? We bring to you some useful room decoration ideas for kids that'll help you make your little ones world special indeed.
Intelligent Room Decor Ideas for Your Kids
1. Animal Theme
Move over blues and pinks and think of a theme that suits the energy and personality of your child. If your little one is an animal lover, consider doing up his room with the help of some plants and animals murals keeping the theme of the zoo in mind. You can get a wall painted with some of his favourite animal prints that glow in the dark or simply get a wall covered with animal printed wallpaper. The child will thank you for this every time he enters his room. Your happiness would know no boundaries when you see his/her delightful face.
2. Nature Canvas
Go green by showcasing the life cycle of a plant from germination to a full-fledged tree with the help of a painting if your little princess is in love with nature. Show what the plant really needs, how it grows, and so on. Bring the theme alive by using murals, stickers, wallpaper, fabrics, rugs, units, and even ceiling fan suggesting the nature theme. This theme will give your child a clear idea of the process of plant growth and be assured that your little botany specialist will remember this all her life.
3. Science Rat
A room that looks more like a science lab is perfect for your teenager kid. With the help of markers and colors, draw that twisty DNA molecule or just write fancy mathematical equations and chemistry formulas on the walls. A couple of flasks, holders, slides, and test tubes can be used in the place of artifacts. You can also make a sign board of ‘science laboratory’ to give the room a more authentic look. Your grown-up scientist will not only love his room, but will have some of the toughest equations and formulas handy, whenever he is busy revising for his exams.
4. Space Star
If you have a child who loves everything from space, rockets, planets to galaxies; then take him into another world by doing up his room in space theme. Stars and galaxies are all about the light, and hence, after painting the wall in white, decorate the room with outer-space themed lamps and lighting. Add a bit of sci-fi mystery with the help of decals, curtains, bed sheets and decorate the ceiling with glow-in-the-dark planetary alignments. May be your child will be the next astronaut who goes ahead and discovers a new planet altogether!
Your child’s room will eventually show how creative his parents are, so make sure you let your creativity shine through. Bedroom is more than just a place to sleep for your children. It’s their own little world. These room decoration ideas for kids open up a whole new world of exciting design possibilities, even for small spaces. Go ahead and give your creativity a shot! My Child is a Picky Eater and I am Okay With It - Here's Why!
As parents, we worry about our children's health if they are fussy eaters. My son is also a picky eater, but not like other picky eaters. Initially, we used to worry a bit that our son didn't like all types of food. He liked only certain types of food. After analysing, we realised that he liked only home-cooked food. He never liked eating at restaurants or having junk food such as pizza, chat, burgers, etc.
Our worries were different from other parents. We were worried about what we will give him when we travel, attend functions, or visit friends and family with him. Then we decided that we will order healthy food or take homemade food with us for our son whenever or wherever we go. Our child is fussy but he doesn't throw tantrums because he wants junk food. It is a boon for us, as we don't have to worry that he will eat lots of junk food. However, he has a soft corner for chips and milk chocolate.
We are very happy that he prefers home-cooked food. Eating home-cooked is good for health and does not lead to stomach issues or food poisoning. He prefers eating dosa, idli, vegetable rice, dal, curd rice, bread, cheese, and milk. These are his favourites but we give him other healthy drinks too just to ensure that his nutrient requirements are met.
My child is a picky eater and he picks healthy and we are proud of him. Eating healthy food has strengthened his immune system. Earlier, he used to constantly complain of throat infections and fall sick often, but now he is fine. And I am sure it is because of his healthy eating habits.
I have understood that being a picky eater, and choosing healthy stuff has worked well for him. It has also helped me as I don't have to worry about getting a new recipe every day for my kiddo. Healthy eating habits can help in a child's growth, weight, and immune strength. I hope he continues to make healthy choices in life and grows properly.

Rangoli Slush
Slushes are among the things kids love these days. When they spot a slush dispenser in shopping malls, they can be quite adamant about having one. But, often the serving size is so huge that, as a parent you are likely to get worried about their sugar intake. The next best thing you can do is create it at home and serve in small glasses. Stunning to look at, fun to make, you will be surprised how easy it is to create it at home.

Ingredients
2 cups crushed ice
3 tbsp blue curacao syrup
3 tbsp strawberry syrup
3 tbsp orange syrup
Method
Step 1
In order to make crushed ice at home, wrap 2 cups of ice cubes in a clean muslin cloth. Beat it with a pestle, so that the ice breaks into small pieces. Now immediately put the broken ice cubes into a mixer jar and give it a quick whizz.
Step 2
If you feel the ice is melting, add the ice crystals in a large bowl and keep it in the freezer for 15 minutes before moving ahead with the rest of the process.
Step 3
Get your syrups and 3 serving glasses ready. Take the ice bowl out of the freezer. Fill one third of the glasses with the ice crystals and drizzle the blue curacao syrup equally into each. Stir it for a few second. Add another layer of ice crystals and drizzle the strawberry syrup. Repeat the process and top it up with orange syrup.
Step 4
Serve immediately. Enjoy!
