Exercise will help regulate your metabolism and make it neither too fast nor slow. If you exercise and also do yoga, your appetite will increase, you'll eat more and gain weight.
Drink some lukewarm water with lemon juice after every meal. This will hydrate your system, boost digestion, and increase your weight.

Consider adding soy to your diet, the non-GMO type. Soy is a rich source of protein and is known to increase body weight.
Don't skip drinking fruit juices. Drink a lot of the natural ones, not the ones packaged or sold in stores. This is one of the best Ayurvedic weight gain tips because it gets you a host of nutrients required for increasing your body weight.
Spices like cinnamon, ginger, and cloves while herbs like oregano and parsley are known to increase appetite and promote weight gain.
Don't watch TV or your mobile when you eat. Because you might undereat/overeat or skip meals when you do this. You have to make sure you're getting those calories, after all.
Eat mindfully. Yes, this is the most important tip. Whatever you eat, chew well so that it gets properly digested. Don't just swallow after a few bites because that won't do you good.

Just follow these tips, and be consistent. You'll be glad in a few months when you notice your weight increasing. It's still not too late. Is IVF a Good Option for Women With Endometriosis?
In today’s time, more and more women are getting affected by endometriosis. It occurs when the uterus lining (known as the endometrium) grows outside the uterus, resulting in scar tissue and adhesion. This condition destroys the tissues and distorts the organs, causing dysfunction of reproductive organs which leads to infertility. It is a condition in which women experience severe cramping in the pelvic region, excessive blood flow during the cycle, and most importantly, it prevents women from conceiving. This is when IVF treatment may be administered to help the person to conceive. The article highlights the effects of endometriosis on fertility and how IVF can help to combat infertility in women with the condition.
How Does Endometriosis Affect Fertility?
Although not everyone who has endometriosis has a problem in conceiving, it can be a cause of infertility in some women. It depends mainly on the severity of the condition. However, it has been seen that the monthly fecundity rate (chances of conceiving) in women without the condition is 15% - 20% which is much higher than that of women who have endometriosis whose monthly fecundity rate is anywhere in between 2% - 10%.
The exact reason for infertility in women with endometriosis, however, is not certain. Anyone or more of the below-mentioned factors can be a cause for failure to conceive.
1. Blocked Fallopian Tubes
The deposits caused by endometriosis block the Fallopian tubes through which fertilised eggs travel to the uterus. This prevents fertilisation from taking place, and as such, it is not possible to conceive.
2. Chocolate Cysts
Endometriomas or the benign ovarian growths which are also known as chocolate cysts can destroy the eggs in the ovary and prevent ovulation. The chocolate cysts that contain old blood which have a thick, tar-like consistency may also develop along the Fallopian tube which obstructs a fertilised egg to travel to the uterus, thereby preventing conception.
3. Endometriotic Deposits in the Pelvis
It is not certain why, but even in less severe cases of endometriosis when the ovulation is normal, and there are no blockages due to endometrial deposits, infertility may occur. According to research, when the condition of endometriosis is present in the system, either the endometrial cells or the immune system give out bio-chemical substances like prostaglandins which prevent a person from conceiving.
4. Scarring of Tissues
Scarring tissues due to endometriosis can make organs including the reproductive organs stick to one another and distort them. This prevents the organs from functioning properly, and as such, it becomes difficult to conceive.
5. Causes Inflammation
Endometriosis may also cause inflammation in the organs, preventing the entire reproductive process from taking place. Inflammation has been observed to affect egg production and ovulation too. The quality and quantity of eggs (ovarian reserve) in endometriosis patients dips low. Moreover, it has been seen that the uterus of women suffering from endometriosis works differently. The implantation rate is much lower, and the chances of miscarriage are on the higher side.
Endometriosis and IVF Treatment
Endometriosis is usually treated by laparoscopy surgery or hormonal treatments; in severe cases, hysterectomy is carried out which includes the removal of the ovaries, cervix and uterus. As for increasing the chances of getting pregnant while suffering from endometriosis, IVF can be a good way of treating the condition. It has been observed that IVF treatment improves the chances of conception. In case of severe endometriosis, the IVF success rate is low. IVF treatment is considered to be the best option and is just as good as other IVF patients who do not suffer from the condition. However, some people believe IVF treatment on patients with endometriosis can cause the condition to aggravate. Due to the doses of oestrogen during the IVF procedure, endometriosis symptoms can flare up, causing grave health issues. This is because when a lot of hormones are injected into the body, it causes inflammation in the tissues. However, such severe cases are rare.
Another question that is most common among IVF patients with endometriosis is, does endometriosis affect implantation in IVF? Although IVF is considered to be the best option to treat infertility in women with endometriosis, the chances of implantation will be slightly less in women with the condition than women without it. However, it has been observed that there isn’t much of a difference in the implantation rates in women with endometriosis and women without it.
IVF treatment has been tried and tested by many women with endometriosis around the globe, and the results have been fantastic. However, the best way to overcome the condition would be to consult and take opinions of a good reproductive endocrinologist and be open to experimenting with different IVF alternative treatments. Most importantly, be patient and positive!

Delivering a Baby : What To Expect
When a baby enters this world, the battle is just half won. There is a series of steps that start from screening of the newborn to vaccination, which ensures a healthy life.
Soon you will experience that boundless joy of delivering a baby, often described as the most beautiful feeling. Shortly after delivery, your newborn will be evaluated, dried and covered in a warm towel. This is done to protect the baby from sudden change in conditions.
The nose and mouth of the baby are suctioned in order to clear the secretions. This helps in vitalising normal breathing. It is essential for the baby to cry within 30 to 60 seconds of birth. In case the baby does not cry, he is given a gentle stimulation or a rub on his back.
After an infant's birth, the doctor clamps the umbilical cord in two places before cutting it from the middle. The blood from the cord is collected in a tube and sent to the lab for testing. These tests help us know if the baby is healthy or facing any complications
Common Newborn Health Problems After Birth
In case the baby has problems at birth, extra care is required. He should immediately be examined and placed under observation or a full-fledged resuscitation. He is placed on a radiant warmer in the birthing room, as the warmth allows the baby to help adjust in the environment outside the mother’s womb. If the baby needs further care after being stabilised, he may be taken to an intensive care nursery.
It is common to see a newborn having jaundice or breathing problems. Many premature babies or even full-term babies tend to develop jaundice because of immature liver. In such cases, certain tests are conducted to start immediate medication. The skin and eyes turning yellowish are the symptoms of jaundice. Here, the baby is exposed to special lights through a process called photo-oxidation that helps to break down and remove the extra bilirubin from the blood.
Some babies may have immature lungs. It occurs when the baby's lungs lack sufficient surfactant (a chemical which prevents air sacs from collapsing during breathing). Most babies face such a problem during birth. The doctors may use ventilators to allow the baby to breathe normally.
Vaccines Necessary for a Newborn
Here is a list of vaccines that are very important for a newborn. The following vaccines are administered to the baby at appropriates ages:
Hepatitis B - 3 shots
DTaP - 6 shots
Hib - 3 or 4 shots
Polio (IPV) - 4 shots
Pneumococcal (PCV) - 4 shots
Rotavirus - 2 or 3 doses
Influenza (seasonal and H1N1 flu) – It needs to be given once a year for kids who are 6 months and older.
Measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) - 2 shots
Varicella (chicken pox) - 2 shots
Hepatitis A - 2 shots
Meningococcal (MCV4) - 2 shots
HPV - 3 shots
You should always consult a doctor before administering any of the vaccines to the baby.
With happiness comes responsibility, your newborn requires extra care and affection right from the start for a healthy growth. So enjoy your motherhood and cherish each moment with your bundle of joy while taking care of him. Read more

A Story About Depression
The world is not perfect. Come out of your thoughts, where everything is ideal. Why do you feel everything is against you? Just ignore things. This is the way one can survive in this world.
"Saachi... Saachi, Wake up, Saachi!" This voice dragged Saachi from her deep sleep. She woke up breathlessly. She looked around and found that Aakash, her husband, was getting ready for work and was trying to wake her up simultaneously. She picked up the glass from the side table, poured water from the jug and took a sip of water to relax. "Oh! You woke up" Aakash said with a smile and kissed her on her forehead. "Your breakfast is waiting for you. Eat on time and take rest. Now, I am taking your leave, honey. I will try to come home early." Soon, Aakash leaves for work.
Saachi walked unsteadily towards the dining table. She was not well. She was suffering from depression. Depression is something that most people don't want to talk about. We think a person suffering from it is a psychopath. Lack of knowledge can be very harmful in such cases.
Depression is a mood disorder that often leads to low self-worth, guilt, and a loss of interest in one's daily activities. If you don't understand the symptoms & get treatment at the earliest, you might end up with a serious problem. The way our body needs rest and positive energy; likewise, our mind needs rest and positive energy. Every person has a different reason that brings them down and pushes them towards depression. Like the meaning of her name, Saachi would always speak the truth. Her father taught her always to speak her mind. Her father would tell her that no matter who is in front of her, she shouldn't hesitate to speak up against wrong things. While giving Saachi this lesson, he forgot that a strong-minded woman is not easily accepted by society.
Saachi had gone through severe problems, but she remained strong. Unaware of her future, she continued to walk on the path of truth, until she got married. She was unaware that in her husband's family, there was no respect for women, especially the 'bahu' (daughter-in-law). Patriarchal beliefs ruled that family. She was shocked after encountering this reality. She raised her voice and tried to bring about change in their mindset, but without her husband's support in dealing with the constant derogatory remarks and abuse her hopes and strength shattered. Whenever Saachi tried to share her pain with Aakash, he ignored her by saying this is normal. He would tell her she needs to learn how to adjust. He would say to her, "Every daughter-in-law has to go through this. This is the real world. You deal with it by yourself, don't involve me."
She broke down because of her husband and his family's by abhorrent behaviour. This also negatively affected her professional life. She was brilliant but started to stay away from people and imprisoned herself in her house. She began to doubt herself. Her self-confidence faded away. She started experiencing a persistent feeling of sadness, worthless, a loss of interest in daily activities, and the sleepless nights took a toll on her health. Many times she got suicidal thoughts. When her parents got to know about their daughter's condition, they visited their family doctor. The doctor examined her and found that Saachi was suffering from depression. The doctor informed Aakash about Saachi's condition and told him that any additional stress would cause major harm to her. Over time, Aakash repented and admitted the misdeeds of his family, and he apologised for not supporting her.
It is important never to let anybody suppress your voice and thoughts. Physical torture leaves scars on one's body, but mental torture scars the mind and these scars can't be seen. If anyone is going through these feelings, seek help as soon as possible.
Depression could be a result of something happening in your professional or personal life. If you are suffering from depression, you must carefully understand the symptoms and never be ashamed to talk about it. Stop blaming yourself. Overcome your fears and learn to love yourself again. It is a tough journey. You would need to wake up your inner fighter. Don't forget, you are not alone. You have to win this battle against all the odds.

Alert: 5 Critical Warning Signals Your Period Can Give About Your Health - Don't Ignore Them!
All women have a love - hate relationship with their period. From the cramps to the blood, everything about your period seems to hamper you! But skipping a period means the beginning of another kind of anxiety. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll have a new member added to your family soon - it could also indicate health problems!
Yes – you read that right! You’ll be surprised to know just how many signs from your period can indicate health problems you could be having - problems that you should immediately get checked! Knowing a few things about your period can come extremely handy in the long run even if there’s nothing wrong with your menstrual cycle at the moment. Here are a few critical warning signals you need to watch out for to find out what your period says about you:
Period Cramps
Some of us have it lucky with minimal cramps that barely slow us down. For most us though, menstrual cramps are a constant through those five days. However, if your cramps are so bad that you they hinder you from going about your daily routine and you need to take leaves or holidays and stay in bed - you might be facing a problem. If, despite taking over-the-counter pain killers, your cramps are not bearable, you might have endometriosis, a condition where the uterine tissue (that forms the lining of the uterus and shed during periods) is outside the uterus. Since, during periods when the lining sheds, the blood doesn’t have anywhere to exit the body - it results in these cramps.
Endrometriosis has other symptoms as well, like heavy flow and bleeding between periods. It can cause infertility issues as well.
Colour and Consistency of Period
Period colours can indicate a lot of things about your health. The ideal colour and consistency of a period is cranberry juice red – a nice, saturated red!
If the colour is darker with a thicker ’clotty’ texture, then it means that your estrogen levels are high. If there are too many clots, you need to watch out for a hormonal imbalance and maybe even uterine fibroids. Don’t panic - they’re mostly benign – but they can be painful! Cutting on consumption of soy, dairy and sugar could help you in such cases.
If the color of period blood is on the other end of the spectrum with a pinkish colour, you could have low estrogen levels. If this is extremely sudden, due to a workout change or accompanied by watery consistency, you may have a nutritional imbalance or be at risk of osteoporosis or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). However, it could also mean you are entering the perimenopause stage where your body is preparing itself for menopause. It is best to get it checked by your doctor in any case. ||
Flow of Period
On an average, women lose about a cup’s worth of blood per blood. However at times, women do experience heavy flow, and if consistent, it can cause anameia, fertility issues, uterine fibroids, or as discussed above, endometriosis.
On the other hand, a very light period could be the result of a variety of reasons ranging from hormonal or nutritional imbalance, stress or even perimenopause. However, abnormally light periods could also mean you are at risk or have more serious health issues like autoimmune disorders, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), or Asherman's syndrome.
Frequency of Period
The average period lasts two to seven days and occurs every 21 to 35 days. The menstrual cycle ideally becomes more regular as you age. However, irregular periods past your teens could be a result of stress, extreme weight loss, pregnancy, consumption of excessive alcohol or the use of certain drugs. Birth control pills can also cause light spotting between periods. However, if you’re spotting without taking these pills, you should get evaluated immediately as it is a symptom of cancer or pre-cancer. It could also be a sign of a vaginal infection or a hormonal imbalance. Irregular periods from time to time shouldn’t be a cause of worry but its best to get checked by your doctor especially if this happens for a prolonged time.
A Pseudo-Period
If you have a surprise period with no bloating, PMS or other any symptoms that you generally experience, there’s a chance you’re not ovulating. This is mostly seen in overweight or obese woman and could be an indicator of the fact that you’re pre-diabetic since insulin resistance can effect on your menstrual cycle. It’s imperative you get checked by your doctor and look at a weight control program – especially if you’re planning a pregnancy. Read more
