Is Mosambi (Sweet Lime) Juice Safe during Pregnancy?
Pregnancy can make you reach for certain food items simply because of cravings or because you think those would be good for you. Mosambi might be one of those as well, especially if you’ve been a fan of the fruit for a long time. Mosambi juice is loved by all, but is mosambi juice safe during pregnancy? If yes, then what is the best way to drink it? Here’s how you can know all about it.
What Is Sweet Lime?
In India, sweet lime is known as 'mosambi'. It is greenish-yellow in colour and found in several parts of the country. Although 'sweet lime' belongs to the family of lemons, the tangy flavour is subdued as the sweetness is quite high in this citrus fruit.
A good quality mosambi can be instantly recognized by its weight and firmness. If the skin of this fruit is clear of any blemishes and on scratching it, some oil seems to seep out of it, then the mosambi is fresh. Only a fresh sweet lime displays these signs.
Benefits of Drinking Mosambi Juice during Pregnancy
Mosambi juice is relished by almost all women due to its sweet and tangy taste. However, besides being tasty, this juice has its share of benefits too. Drinking mosambi juice during pregnancy can be extremely beneficial for your health. Know how it is good for you and your child:
Presence of calcium and potassium in mosambi supports the growth of the foetus.
As mosambi has cooling properties, it maintains a good temperature around the uterus and makes it conducive for rapid brain development.
It is also known to boost the circulation of blood in the body.
The fibrous nature assists bowel movements and stimulates the digestive process, thus providing relief from constipation.
The inherent antioxidants and antibiotics of the fruit are known to provide relief from ulcers.
Rich in vitamin C, this fruit helps satisfy the body’s need for the vitamin in judicious quantities.
If you are suffering from diabetes, drinking mosambi juice with amla and honey will help you maintain a proper sugar level in the body.
Drinking mosambi juice with cumin (jeera) seeds and ginger powder provides relief from respiratory problems.
Mosambi juice, acts as a natural detoxifier and keeps the body healthy and brings a glow to the skin.
How to Prepare Sweet Lime Juice
Here is a simple way to prepare sweet lime juice.
Ingredients
Mosambis
Black salt
Cumin powder
Sugar or honey
How to Make
The juice from the mosambi fruit can be extracted either by using a juicing machine or by using a manual extractor. In both cases, make sure you remove the seeds prior.
If going for the juicing machine, peel off the skin and cut the mosambi into small pieces.
Put all the pieces of the mosambi into the juicer and run it for a while.
Let it blend until it becomes smooth and liquid.
Take a glass and add some sugar or honey to it for taste.
Pour the juice from the blender into the glass.
You can also sprinkle a bit of black salt followed by a dash of cumin powder, right on top of the juice.
Place the glass in the refrigerator and allow it to cool.
Drink it while it is chilled.
Precautions to Take Before Drinking Mosambi Juice
Mosambi juice tastes delicious and in pregnancy, your craving for it may increase. But when you are pregnant, you should be careful before eating or drinking anything. Here are few precautionary measures you should consider before drinking mosambi juice when pregnant:
When drinking mosambi juice, avoid drinking it from roadside stalls or other shops. Their preparation techniques may not be hygienic and you don't want to take chances during pregnancy.
While buying mosambi, ensure that it is fresh and does not show any signs of disease or decay. Fresh mosambi also contains fewer preservatives making it even healthier.
If you have a cold or are susceptible to it, it is advisable to not add any ice to the juice. Also, do not refrigerate it for too long.
If the juice is too thick for you, do not dilute it by adding normal water. Use water that is freshly filtered or boil the water and let it cool. Then add it to the juice.
Many women may have gas or other problem due to black salt or cumin. In such cases, do not add them to the juice.
Do not squeeze the juice and store in the fridge. Consuming it could cause stomach ache and other issues. Always drink fresh mosambi juice.
Eating mosambi comes with its own share of benefits. But mosambi juice acts as a nutritious drink and provides relief from the hot weather. Drinking sweet lime juice during pregnancy is one of the best ways to ensure a balance of nutrients, minerals, and other vitamins in your body. Making it a regular in your diet brings no harm and you can enjoy it throughout your pregnancy.

It’s difficult to decide what to choose for a casual meeting. Should you stick to jeans and trainers or play safe and stay on the conservative side? To ease your dilemma regarding the dress code for business meetings, here are some tips to tailor your attire.
For Women
When it comes to dressing up for a casual meeting, you can go easy a bit and try something that’s fashion friendly. Here are some suggestions that you can try.
1. Tops
Keeping it simple always works. You could go for a simple jersey top, chiffon shirt, turtleneck, or patterned blouse. A blazer can also be layered for a smarter look.
2. A Dress/Skirt
Straight or pencil skirts work best for a business setting. But you can also wear A-liners in a neutral colour for a casual meeting. Sheath dresses with a belt that goes around the middle can be an attractive option. It can be completed with a casual blazer and a pair of flats for a distinctive casual business look.
3. Bottoms
You can wear a pair of trousers, structured wool trousers, or chinos for a casual meeting in your company. Straight-leg pants and bootcuts are flattering on almost all body types and work well too. So, take your pick and dress your best.
4. Shoes
When it comes to picking the right shoes for a casual meeting, it is best to stick to closed toe shoes such as low-heeled pumps, booties, or flats. You can wear loafers or brogues. If you like to wear heels, then go ahead and wear it but it should be up to four inches.
5. Accessories
Lightweight jewellery is ideal; avoid any other that makes a bold statement or big earrings. These are a distraction from the task you are there to do.
6. Outerwear
On cold winter days, you can go for a smart jacket, trench coat, or a pea coat to add style to your look.
For Men
While choosing an outfit for a casual business meeting, pick something that’s sharp but comfortable.
1. A Blazer
A blazer is not always necessary but can make you look smart anytime. Wear a blazer to look more confident. Pick a dark blazer with or without a chequered pattern.
2. Bottoms
Smart trousers or chinos would work well, preferably in dark colour or beige. If you’re working in a startup or creative industry, jeans are also acceptable. However, it should be dark with a straight cut and should not be skin tight or ripped.
3. Shirts
A shirt is the most basic component of every working man’s wardrobe. Whether it is layered on top with a blazer or buttoned-up collared shirt, must be ironed and tucked into the bottoms. For a smart look, pick dark-coloured shirts like navy blue, purple, olive green, etc. You can also wear a shirt with small checks on it.
4. Shoes
You can choose anything from formal shoes to brogues that are either in black or brown for a casual meeting in your office.
5. Accessories
A belt is a must-have that should be worn with every outfit. Watches add a nice touch but keep it simple. Don't wear a flashy watch, as it would be distracting.
6. Outerwear
If the weather is cold and you need to keep warm, you can go for a trench coat, pea coat or a formal wool jacket.
What You Can Pick for a Formal Business Meeting?
Dressing to impress is the motto behind all formal business attire. What you wear on a daily basis is not perfect for your boardroom or conference. A good attire conveys your professional image and executive presence. So, here we suggest you what you can wear for a formal business meeting.
For Women
Well-worn business formal women’s attire makes a statement. Here’s what you need to keep in mind:
1. Tops
A cotton or chiffon buttoned shirt is perfect for a formal meeting. You must not wear clothes that reveal too much skin. Your blouse should be a perfect fit and should go well the rest of your outfit.
2. Bottoms
Pants work fine as long as you adhere to tailored ones with a crease. Khaki, corduroy, twill, wool and wool blends are all good materials. Avoid heavy cotton, denim, and synthetic materials.
3. A Dress/Skirt
If you are wearing a dress or skirt, make sure you pick the right colour and material. The length of your dress and skirt also matters. Follow the four finger rule; the skirt or the dress should not be higher than four fingers above your knee. If you’re unable to walk comfortably in the skirt, it’s either too tight or too small. So avoid wearing such dresses at work.
4. Shoes
Closed toed pumps, brogues, court shoes or loafers that compliment the outfit are the best. Avoid chunky heels, stilettos, flat soled-shoes, or shoes with too much weight.
5. Accessories
Wear jewellery that’s simple and non-distracting which pairs well with a structured bag. When wearing a skirt or dress, wear skin-coloured or black tights for a perfect finish.
For Men
For men who are unable to decide what to wear for a formal business meeting, we will help you pick the right clothes.
1. Shirts
A buttoned-up, plain cotton shirt is the best option for a formal business meeting. You can also wear shirts that are light coloured and have small patterns on it.
2. Suits
A two or a three-piece suit in a dark colour such as charcoal or navy is the perfect choice of attire for a board meeting. However, make sure that the quality of the material is excellent and that it fits you perfectly.
3. Shoes
Oxford shoes or brogues in black or brown go well with suits. Do not forget the matching socks.
4. Accessories
To complete the look, a silk tie is mandatory along with a leather belt. You can also wear a watch and subtle cufflinks.
Additional Tips You Must Follow
Whether you’re a man or a woman working at a startup or a multinational corporation, the following tips apply to all.
1. Bring Backups
Having a blazer and an extra pair of shoes in your car is a quick fix if you arrive at a meeting and realise you’re underdressed. The same goes for accessories and other outerwear.
2. Ensure That Your Attire is Appropriate
Be it men’s or women's business wear; everybody agrees that attention to detail makes people look competent. Although t-shirts and jeans are okay in some casual settings, maintaining a professional touch works greatly to maintain your image.
3. Ensure Everything Fits Well
An oversized or undersized shirt or pant can ruin your outfit. What’s worse, while you’re tugging at it, you draw more attention to it. The people in the board meeting may assume that you lack confidence. You don't want that, right? So make sure your clothes fit you.
4. Invest in Good Ties
Ties are essential for men to complete their formal, professional look. Pick a good quality tie made out of a high-quality fabric such as silk. Ensure it has no character prints and the patterns or colours are subdued.
5. Avoid Mismatches
None of your accessories should be a mismatch with your whole look. While picking a belt, go for the one which matches the colour of your shoes or the suit. For a casual business meeting ensure your trousers match the colour of the jacket. The colour of the socks should either match the trousers or shoes.
6. Watch Your Hairstyle
Your hairstyle should complement your look. Men must keep their hair trimmed, and women should take care that it doesn’t fall over their face.
7. Opt for Natural Makeup
Women must keep their makeup natural for meetings - it should not be too much. Perfume should be subtle and not overpowering.
8. Regard Social or Cultural Norms
If the business meeting is with an international client, research a bit on what is appropriate with them. You could update your look a little bit more to find a middle ground. Find out their business dress and wear accordingly.
9. Buy a Good Handbag
Invest in a good corporate handbag for a professional appeal. You don’t want to enter a meeting room clutching all your personal stuff in your hands. A black or brown bag that matches your outfit will do.
Blending style and professionalism into your attire is the key to look confident in any business meeting. Your appearance speaks volumes for you to establish you as a credible, successful person. So pay attention to it.

How To Do CPR in Children
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation or CPR is one practice that most parents should know. It can be a lifesaver and reduce the chances of permanent damage in case the child stops breathing. CPR combines chest compressions and rescue breathing (mouth-to-mouth resuscitation) to great effect, and which can be used to save your child's life.
The best method to learn the techniques of CPR would be to take an official course. Its importance cannot be understated, as it can help you save your child and others, if ever necessary. However, for everybody who cannot learn CPR officially, here are the various necessities and techniques for CPR that can come handy.
What is CPR?
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation or CPR is an emergency procedure carried out to deliver oxygen to the brain if the patient stops breathing suddenly. The procedure involves pressing down on the chest area hard (chest compressions) and delivering air to the body through mouth-to-mouth resuscitation (rescue breaths). If done in the correct manner, CPR delivers air and oxygen to the brain and other vital organs, until medical help arrives or your child recovers.
In most cases, CPR is done if the child gets affected by cardiac arrest. Cardiac arrest occurs as a result of some kind of injury or illness and is rarely an indication of any underlying heart disease. In most common cases, the heart stops beating if the patient has been drowning, suffocating, electrocuted, poisoned or if he is affected by any allergic reactions.
Why Your Child Might Need CPR?
Here are some of the reasons why your child might need emergency resuscitation, some of which are given here:
Choking
Drowning
Electrical shock
Excessive bleeding
Head trauma or other serious injuries
Lung disease
Poisoning
Suffocation
Which Symptoms Indicate Need of CPR in Kids?
Generally, there are a few symptoms which point towards the necessity of CPR in the situation.
The child is not breathing
The child has no pulse or no heartbeat
The child has passed out and is struggling to breathe
Things to Keep in Mind Before Giving Child CPR
The first step is to make sure that the surroundings of the child are safe and secure before starting the procedure. In the case of children, you have to tap on their shoulder and shout 'Are you okay?' to check if there is any response from the child. Ensure that he needs help, before proceeding with resuscitation. In the case of infants, the best way to elicit a response would be to flick the bottom of the foot and see if they respond.
Get professional medical help, or call for an ambulance or the paramedics. This has to be done before starting the procedure so that the professionals arrive at the time you finish your procedure. Even if the child has already responded to your shouting or flicking, you need to get the help of medical professionals to ensure that the child is alright and not prone to unconsciousness again.
Open the airway of the child (remove any blockage if the child is choking). Make the child lie on his back, and then lift the chin and tilt the head back slightly.
Check whether the child is breathing. Keep your ear close to the mouth, and check whether the child is breathing for ten seconds. The main point to note is that occasional gasps are not considered breathing; however, in the case of infants, periodic breathing is the norm and changes in breathing pattern are a normal occurrence.
Deliver two rescue breaths. Cover the mouth and nose (in case of infants) or just the mouth (in case of children) and breathe into the child's mouth to make the chest rise.
Begin CPR, if the baby does not respond to the rescue breaths.
How Should You Perform CPR on Your Child?
Here are the child CPR steps that will show you how to give CPR to a child
Kneel beside the baby, and push hard and fast on the chest. Place the heel of one hand on the centre of the chest, and the heel of the other hand on top of the heel. Lace your fingers, and begin the compressions. The ideal depth is around two inches, and thirty compressions are to be made. In case of infants, use two fingers and deliver compressions that are around 1.5 inches deep.
Give two rescue breaths to the child after the compressions, to check for any signs of life. Make a seal over the mouth and the nose or just the mouth with your mouth, and blow twice into the airway to make the chest rise.
If the child shows signs of life like breathing, stop CPR and wait for professional help. Otherwise, continue CPR until the child starts breathing, or trained help arrives to help you out.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is something that all parents must know, as it can be a real lifesaver for your child. If the child has been the victim of an accident or an allergy and stops breathing, you have to remember to call for professional help and then administer CPR until the child breathes on his own.

Combating Chronic Health Conditions in Children
Chronic health conditions and diseases are very stressful for children as they require extensive medical treatment and frequent hospitalization. These conditions may persist from 3 months of age!
A chronic illness can affect a child socially and emotionally to a great extent. Children receiving special treatment or having a visible disability can be singled out from a group because of the apparent difference. Circumstantial differences can cause the child with a peculiar health condition to be left alone and suffer from trauma. As a mom, caution is paramount!
Common Chronic Diseases in Children &Treatment
1. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) in Children
CF is a life-threatening genetic disease leaving the child prone to lung congestion, breathing difficulties and finally lung damage. A child with CF has a faulty gene that interferes with the movement of sodium chloride in and out of the cells. This results in thick and heavy mucus, salty sweat and thickened digestive juices – a state of disrupted normal body functions and poor growth.
Treatment
The child must get vaccinated against diseases like Hib (Haemophilus influenza type B) and pertussis and also get annual flu shots. Regular medical care makes sure that the child’s sputum (saliva or mucus) is tested for the reason behind infection. If the symptoms aggravate, the kid may have to be admitted in the hospital for intravenous antibiotics.
2. Hepatitis in Children
This condition leads to inflammation of the liver. The hepatitis A virus is carried in the stool and easily spreads from one person to another, while the hepatitis B virus is transmitted through blood and other interstitial fluids. Symptoms in both cases include fever, fatigue, vomiting, loss of appetite and jaundice in children.
Treatment
Hepatitis A can be prevented through vaccination that keeps the infection at bay for 20 years. It is administered in two doses that are given at a gap of six months, during the ages of 12 and 24 months. Hepatitis B can also be prevented through vaccination and protects a child for 15 years. It is given in three doses – from birth to two months of age, between one to four months and finally during 6 to 18 months.
If the mother is infected with the disease, the first shot is given within 12 hours of birth along with immune globulin, the second one between one and two months, and the last one at six months. Moms must also remember to maintain hygiene such as washing hands thoroughly after changing diapers and before preparing food.
3. Sickle Cell Anemia in Children
It is an inherited blood disorder in which normal, round and flexible red blood cells become crescent shaped and stiff. As a result, they get stuck in the blood vessels and prevent the transport of oxygen in the body. The child may undergo episodes of pain, spleen problems, acute chest syndrome, eye problems and jaundice.
Treatment
There is no cure for sickle cell anemia but medication can lessen the pain and prevent viral or bacterial infection from spreading. If the pain is excruciating, the child may have to be hospitalised. Penicillin is said to reduce the risk of the disease, so the child can be given a daily dose from 2 months to 5 years of age. Some experts also suggest folic acid supplements to boost the production of red blood cells.
4. Diabetes in Children
This is not just an adult problem but one of the most common chronic diseases in children too. It causes unhealthy levels of sugar in the child’s body. In a healthy child, digestive juices break down food into glucose. This is acted upon by insulin, secreted from the pancreas, to move the glucose from blood to the cells. But in type 1 diabetes, the pancreas is no longer healthy enough to produce insulin. In type 2 diabetes, the pancreas does produce insulin but the body is not able to absorb it.
Treatment
There is no cure for diabetes either. However, proper medication, diet and exercise can lessen the effects on the child’s body. It is important to keep a tab on the blood sugar levels of the child on a daily basis. The kid will need insulin shots that can be given at home and frequent checkups from a caregiver.
Bringing up a child with a chronic health condition can be draining for you as a mom. Don't be disheartened as medical science is improving each day. Stay involved, consult with your doctor and plan for better life procedures to give your little one a normal, healthy life. Read more

A. Do consult your doctor as soon as you can. It's important to find the real reason because without that, proper medication is not possible.

A. usually fixed. better to show to specialist always as they get the correct diagnosis. try to avoid self and extra medication that will only complicate this and create more damage to the child

A. You should have started going from the very beginning itself once you get to know you’re pregnant but since you haven’t reached that now if you’re pregnancy has been healthy last five months please get it checked with your doctor also if you need to start with any supplements or diet the doctor would advise you after a ultrasound so please visit your gynaecologist
