1. Cakes May Contain Bacteria
While pregnant, your immune system will be weak, so you must avoid eating anything that may lead to an infection. Even if the cake is a homemade one, there is a high chance that it might contain bacteria like salmonella, E.coli, Toxoplasma and many more. If any of these bacteria enter your body, it can lead to severe complications. The batter can sometimes form a breeding ground for bacteria. Hence, you must avoid eating cake during pregnancy.
2. Eating Cakes May Lead to Unhealthy Weight Gain
Yes, you need to gain weight during pregnancy but that weight gain should happen from healthy and nutritious foods. Eating cakes, pastries, or other junk food will offer you empty calories which will result in unhealthy and excessive weight gain during pregnancy, and make your pregnancy journey difficult, so they are best avoided. You can enjoy a piece of chocolate-walnut cake served at your baby shower, but resist the temptation to reach for the second piece. Also, avoid cakes that have saccharin in them as it can cross the placenta and affect the foetus. 3. Cakes May Contain Alcohol
Some cakes may contain alcohol such as rum in them that may not be safe for the health of your baby. Even though it is believed that cooking neutralises any alcohol content in the cake, but it is not entirely true. Alcohol enhances the flavour of cakes, but it can cross the placenta and lead to complications in the baby. It could result in premature delivery and birth defects, so if you are planning to eat a piece of cake that has alcohol in it, think about your baby and do not give in to your temptation.

Instant cake mix available in the market and store-bought cakes may contain unhealthy supplements in the form of added flavour or taste enhancers, which might harm your baby.
Cakes That You Can Try During Pregnancy
If you have a sweet tooth and you love eating cakes, then you can enjoy them once in a while. However, we suggest that you opt for healthier versions and consume them in limited amounts too. Mentioned below are some cakes that you can try during pregnancy.
1. Angel Food Cake
Angel food cakes have no fat content in them and can satisfy your sweet cravings. This cake is made with stiffly beaten egg whites instead of butter. It has a light, fluffy texture, so there is no harm in eating it in moderation.
2. Dark Chocolate Cake
Dark chocolates and unsweetened cocoa contain antioxidants, which can prove to be beneficial for your health during pregnancy. So you can eat a piece or two of this cake while pregnant. However, make sure that the cake you buy or make has no alcohol content in it.
3. Yoghurt Cake
Yoghurt is an essential part of the diet of a pregnant woman since it contains dietary calcium, protein and good bacteria which can help in better digestion. You can make a cake using yoghurt, but make sure that it is consumed quickly as yoghurt cake may get spoiled soon and become a breeding ground for bacteria.

Here are some things regarding the consumption of cakes you should take into consideration during pregnancy.
Many people think eating cakes with eggs in them can harm the baby, but that is not true. Eggs are not harmful to the baby, so you can consume a cake that has eggs in it. However, do check that there are no added preservatives in it apart from the eggs, as they could prove to be harmful to the baby.
If you do want to indulge in cakes, we suggest that you eat homemade cake, instead of eating store-bought cake.

In order to stimulate abstract thinking, make use of diagrams and drawings to tangibly depict abstract concepts. The use of overlapping circles, better known as Venn Diagrams, will show your child a concrete way to contrast ideas.
7. Plan Problems
Work out a plan to ensure problem-solving on paper to help your child use representation to plot in a complicated way. When he becomes more confident with abstract thinking, withdraw support to boost cognitive creativity.

If we relate it to our Hindu mythology, 'Maa' is a symbol of strength, love, faith, protection, guidance and mercy, and these are all the qualities every mother has in her. The only difference lies in the fact that our mythological 'Maa' is a mother to billions and trillions of children. Now imagine how many children call her 'Maa' - that is the extent of her strength. She is considered the most powerful of all, because she has the maximum number of kids that keep remembering her, uttering the word 'Maa' of invincible strength.
Now let's check the same with our ancestors. Our great grandparents used to have many kids, and I am very sure that you also would have commented on the strength these mothers had. Same is the strength of a mother with many kids even today. So, we are at fault by saying that our grannies ate pure and healthy food and were active. No. It's the power of the word 'Maa'! If you wish to be more powerful, be a mother.
Now this contradicts our minds with population growth. Hey, stop!
I said, be a mother to as many kids as you can, and for that, one needs to change her perspective towards other children - the children who are called orphans; aren't they also kids? They also need mothers, don't they? If one cannot adopt, one can at least give a motherly touch to these children.
Now going to a broader sense, if we inculcate the qualities of a mother and see every child as our own, just imagine the strength you will have - almost equal to our goddess of strength, 'Maa'! The concern regarding diabetic people consuming egg always banked on the cholesterol and fat content of an egg. But cholesterol does not spike diabetes level. It can trigger cardiovascular diseases, and people with diabetes should avoid that. If consumed in a limited amount, it should not be of trouble and should not put a crease on the forehead. Is egg good for diabetes then? Yes, that is what experts think.

A study, published in the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health claimed that an egg contains about 5 gm fat and it is mostly monounsaturated and polyunsaturated. So if a diabetic patient consumes just one, then the fat amount is really negligible. But avoid eating that egg with loads of cheese and butter, which are a good source of trans fat.
Side Effects of Eating Eggs for Diabetic Patients
Not much can be associated. But too much of anything can have adverse effects on the body.
An egg is high on cholesterol. Especially, egg yolks. One single egg contains almost 200 mg cholesterol, which used to make people think that it is not good for people with diabetes. How much the cholesterol in egg affects cholesterol level in the body is debatable. The American dietary chart allows 300 mg of cholesterol per day. So, a single egg every day can safely be consumed.
A person with prior heart disease or family history should also avoid eating too many. As coupled with diabetes, egg cholesterol can take a toll on the body.
Too much protein can lead to a kidney problem. Eggs are high on protein. Hence, diabetic patients should keep that in mind while planning a dietary chart.
Proper Ways to Consume Eggs for Diabetic Patients
It is always advisable to have properly boiled or cooked eggs. Be it sunny side up or a delicious omelette, eggs can be served in more than one ways to diabetic patients.
Experts suggest that 2-4 per week is ideal for a diabetic patient with a cholesterol problem or any other prior heart-related issues.
If the patient has diabetes and is not getting troubled by any other disease, then 1 per day is always welcome. People who prefer to have just the egg white can even lessen the cholesterol intake by a considerable margin.
If the eggs are from an organic and pastured hen, then the chances of benefiting from such eggs are higher.
Egg salad for diabetes is also good. If you are cooking it for yourself or your dear ones, then load the egg dish with lots of leafy vegetables, onions and mushrooms to make it healthier.
Egg whites for diabetes can be a good option. It can make a fluffy omelette, just avoid pancake batters in them.
If you want to cut down further fat intake, cook the egg in olive oil. You can have it scrambled, or anyway, you like it. And you can always avoid butter or cheese to prepare delectables with egg.
A poached egg is a nice option as that can be done using water as well. No oil, so no trans fat. A pinch of salt would not harm.
