Husband's Responsibilities During Pregnancy - Taking Care of Your Pregnant Wife
Marriage brings two people together, who then take their life ahead as one. Every responsibility in a marriage should be shared by the husband and wife, and this goes for raising a child as well. Although the roles and responsibilities between parents can change according to the dynamics of each couple, both parents are equally responsible during a pregnancy.
Helping your wife have a smooth pregnancy, in fact, is a matter of fulfilling your responsibility as a loyal husband and father-to-be.
As a husband, you might wonder how you can help your wife sail through her pregnancy as smoothly as possible. Here we have a guide that will give you an idea of your duties as a husband during an important chapter in your life.
15 Duties of a Father-to-Be During Pregnancy
Here are some essential points to remember when your wife is pregnant. By following these, you will be a helpful husband and a great father!
1. Educate Yourself
At times, just knowing and understanding what your wife is going through is a huge step, so educate yourself about the things that happen during pregnancy. There are a lot of things that need to be taken care of when your wife is pregnant, so read up on food habits, clothes, or more serious things such as supplement intake and morning sickness so you can support your wife.
2. Help If She Struggles With Morning Sickness
Morning sickness can be a painful experience that can tire a woman out in no time. As a husband, you need to support your wife during this time. Encourage her, stand by her side, and make her feel comfortable. Set up a resting space for her so she can relax whenever the morning sickness hits.
3. Be Sensitive
Things will definitely change in the next few months. There will be mood swings, emotional struggle, pain, etc. During this time, these shifts are natural, so learn to be patient when your wife goes through these changes. Be sensitive to her requests and always respond with kindness. This will make her feel gratitude towards you.
4. Encourage and Support Her
Your wife needs support and encouragement at this stage of her life. Pregnancy is a time of several ups and downs – on the one hand, she is happy and excited; on the other hand, there are physical changes, uncertainties, and fear. During the journey that is her pregnancy, it is important that you encourage her and remind her that you are with her and that she need not worry.
5. Be Flexible
Your wife may need a lot more from you on some days – this can be tough for a working husband. There might be times when you may have to change your plans or even cancel them to be there for your wife, so consider that as a possibility during her pregnancy. Try scheduling your informal meetings with friends according to your wife’s needs, and do not hesitate to ask for flexible work hours every now and then so you can spend time with your wife. This way, you can be there for her when she needs you.
6. Cook With Her
A lot of things seem like Herculean tasks during pregnancy, and cooking is one of them. Get involved in the kitchen and make the things she would make. She will appreciate the gesture and it will lighten up her load too, thus making her well-rested and calmer. Do not hesitate to take up the duty fully either!
7. Be Around for Her
Pregnant women are most often suggested to take ample rest and not strain themselves, because of which most of them end up going to their native place as it is a safe space. As important as that is, make sure that you remain in constant touch – if possible, be with her till the 8th month of her pregnancy and take up responsibilities together.
8. Plan With Her
Awaiting your child’s birth is exciting. As a responsible couple, it is important that you plan for the future so that you are ready once your baby arrives. Make plans with your wife and discuss all the things that are important – this will encourage her and remind her that you two are indeed in this together. This is also the time you can start thinking of names for your little one.
9. Take up Responsibilities
Taking up responsibilities around the house is an important way of showing support to your wife. Help her with the little things that she may need help with, but also take up some of the labour without her having to say it. By taking up some of her emotional labour, you will make her calm and happy.
10. Be a Good Listener
Pregnancy can be a frustrating experience as much as it is a magical one, so it is highly likely that your wife will have some grievances. In these times, it’s helpful to be a good listener – listen to your wife’s complaints about pain and discomfort, about cravings and milestones of her body changing. Lending her an ear will make her really happy as she will be able to express her frustration and go back to a calm state of mind.
11. Lend a Hand in Household Chores
This is the time to take responsibility for household chores. It will soon become harder for her to take care of the house, and it is your house as much as it is hers – it’s time to take care of it! Carrying a baby is not an easy task. Hence, it is important that the two of you share responsibilities at the least.
12. Visit the Doctor
Accompanying your wife to doctor visits is an important thing you should do during her pregnancy. Visiting the doctor can get stressful if there are complications, and you should not leave your wife to face it all alone. Whenever your wife schedules a doctor’s appointment, you must go with her.
13. Prepare for the Delivery
Prepare with her for the big day. At times, preparing for the delivery and waiting for the baby can get extremely stressful for a woman, so make sure you have your resources ready as and when she needs them. Keep a maternity bag ready with all the things she will need at the hospital. Read up on diapering, how to swaddle a baby, how to make the baby spit-up, and other things that are essential for good parenting. Ensure your wife that you are capable of handling things while she rests and takes care of the baby. Always show your support.
14. Monitor Her Food and Water Intake
Being pregnant means always being sure that the woman is eating and drinking correctly – make it your responsibility to know what she needs to consume to keep herself and her baby healthy. What time does she have to take her supplements? Is she eating the right food at the right time? What is she averse to eating? What is she craving? What food is good for the baby, and what is not? Is she drinking enough water? Make sure you have answers to all these questions during your wife’s pregnancy, as her health is of utmost importance.
15. Make Her Feel Special
As the pregnancy progresses, your wife may feel low and a little out of place when it comes to her physical appearance because of her changing body. At this time, you may not understand how to convince her that she is perfect as she is. So, try to make her feel beautiful and special. You can try a maternity photoshoot to make her feel special. When a husband cares for her wife during pregnancy, it can make a stark difference in how she sees herself.
When a baby is born, both the parents take responsibility. In the same way, even when a woman is pregnant, both parents must take equal responsibility and work things out together. When a woman carries a baby, she takes all the responsibilities that come her way. As a father, it is important to support her through this process. At no time should you make her feel that the responsibility is only on her. The role of a husband during pregnancy is essential and it will definitely change the way your wife completes the 9 months. So, make sure that you do everything possible to enrich this journey of pregnancy.

10 Best Ways of Talking to a Baby
The first thing that any baby does when he enters the world is to open his mouth and let out a loud wail and start crying. Once that initiates his breathing normally, babies tend to behave in different ways. Some babies might be very active, crying or making gurgling sounds throughout, while others are usually quiet most of the time, and let out a cry only when they need to be attended to. When wondering how to talk to babies, parents need to know that the method rarely matters. Keeping up with communication and talking as much as possible as you usually would, is a key part of your child’s development.
Why is It Important to Talk with Your Baby?
Studies have shown that more the kids are exposed to a variety of sounds, speech patterns and words, the more they are able to understand the differences between them and develop a foundation necessary to build their own speech over it. It has also been observed that babies who grow up in joint families, where there are multiple people and multiple conversations happening throughout, do tend to pick up speech early in life and remember new words easily.
Interactive Ways of Communicating with Babies to Encourage Their Speech Development
Although carrying out usual conversations with your child in a loving manner is good to kick-start the process of speech development, there are certain ways you can adapt to make those moments a little more interactive. These techniques make use of scientifically established theories as well to help babies grasp the language quickly.
1. Address Their Cries
This is one of the major issues which parents are conflicted about. Some parents believe that helping a baby the moment he begins crying will make him dependent on the presence of parents. So it is best to let him cry for a while. There might be some degree of truth to it but that usually comes into play when your child has grown up a bit. In the initial phases, crying is the only way your child can communicate his needs and troubles. Therefore, make sure you address those cries so that he knows he is safe and the method of communication is working.
2. Talk in a Higher Pitch
Having ongoing conversations with your baby is extremely important. Also, it is best if you can talk to him in a voice that is extra-loving and excited, shifting the pitch a little higher. There is a reason people baby-talk in a voice that is kid-like and that is purely because babies seem to respond to those voices well, over normal voices with baritones. Using a higher pitch and speaking slowly while elongating various words and letters can help the baby remember the basic building blocks of spoken language.
3. Repetition of Certain Words
For any human being, be it a baby or an adult, repetition is a proven method to learn any new skill or remember any new element. The brains of babies might still be undergoing development but they are also actively engaged in taking in as much information as possible. By repeating certain words multiple times when you speak to your child, those words start getting a priority in the brain and attempts are made to remember them sooner. These could be simple ones like “dudu” and “mama” that blend in the conversation. Make sure you reference the objects along with the words, too.
4. Speak in Blocks
Babies are not matured enough to understand full-fledged sentences and the flow of words and grammar. That’s advanced language, especially for the little one. Instead, focus on small and simple individual words that are accompanied by a tangible action. For example, if you are giving your child water, you can accompany that by saying “papa” or anything else repeatedly. Slowly and steadily, as the child becomes more aware and grows up, he will be able to associate one word with the action and be able to communicate his needs to you in a better way.
5. Encourage Constant Communication
Parenting is difficult and with the constant hounding around your child, listening to his cries day and night, combined with other activities of the home, would want you to have some quiet time. As much necessary as that is, do keep a communication-oriented atmosphere in the home. Do not simply sit with your child when he is in the mood to play. When that happens enough times, a baby might begin to feel that this is a normal way of life and find it difficult to communicate later on. Keep talking using various words and intonations and sounds and your baby will be delighted by it.
6. Connect Words to Baby’s Actions
It is good to use words to refer to what you are doing but also start using words as a means to define what the baby is doing or experiencing. This creates an instant connect since the baby is the direct subject in this case. There are instances of baby burping or baby pooping that happen most of the times. When you clean his diaper, refer to cleaning the “poopoo” since the baby already knows he has pooped. If using hot or cold cloths, refer to the temperatures with different words, too. The baby may not understand the meaning but he can always connect the feeling with the word.
7. Include Stories and Songs
Communication doesn’t have to be just about words and sentences and dialogues. Telling stories and songs delve into a deeper aspect of communication that relies heavily on creating an emotional connect. Babies tend to respond to music quite effectively and combining those melodies with words can be quite effective. Storytelling by making use of voice modulation and sound effects can be exciting for the little one, too.
8. Use Books and Visual Aids
As your baby grows up, he will be able to perceive things visually in a clearer way than before. This can then be taken to your advantage by making use of colourful photos, images or storybooks when you talk to your child. Let his brain make the connections between the words you use and the sounds you make with the images he sees.
9. Non-Verbal Cues
Children need to be able to connect verbal information with non-verbal cues as well. This can be achieved by maintaining an expressive face that exaggerates the emotions of the communication you are having with your child. If you are not happy with what he is doing, making large eyes and a frowny face can let him know that you are unhappy. Smiling a lot and laughing happily teaches the same as well.
10. Differentiate People
As your child grows up and can starts recognising people, start using specific words for each person. This is one of the easiest ways your child’s memory and speech development can progress rapidly. Very soon he will start calling out names of the people he wants to see and mention our names when he sees them.
Talking to your newborn baby is extremely essential in the nascent stages and even while he grows up. The communication might seem repetitive and nonsensical at times but that’s just our adult brain. Remember the effect it has on your baby and immerse yourself in the activity to let your baby have the best of you at all times.

Other Numbers That You Must Save in Your Cell phone
Here are some other important phone numbers to have in your cell phone at all times:
1. Nearby Health Clinic or Hospitals
It is a good idea to keep the phone numbers of your family doctor, local hospital or other such places which you can easily contact in an emergency. So, instead of looking for the relevant numbers in yellow pages or running through your telephone directory, keep such numbers on the speed dial of your phone.
2. Water House
Keeping a water house number can come handy under situations where the water supply gets cut, there is contaminated water supply, or if you encounter broken water pipes or under any other such kinds of situations.
3. Poison Control
Accidental exposure to poisonous substances can lead to life-threatening conditions. Though you can always run to your nearest hospital, poison control services are well-equipped to deal with such situations. Keep this number handy, especially if you have younger children at home.
4. Power House
In case of abrupt power cuts or a faulty power line, call up the powerhouse people to know to fix the issue.
5. Animal Control
Sometimes wild beings like a snake, monitor lizard, wild boar or other such animals may visit and sometimes uninvited guests such as a dog or cat from the neighbourhood that may be causing too much chaos in your house. Well, animal control people are your one-stop resort to deal with such emergencies.
6. Neighbours
In our busy lives, we seldom take out time to mingle with our neighbours. However, during the hour of need it is our neighbours who would reach us before anyone else. Therefore, take a few numbers of people in your locality who are worth depending on as neighbours are the biggest assets in the time of an emergency.
7. Coworkers or Colleagues
Whether you get along well with your coworkers or not, keeping a few numbers handy from the workplace always helps. Especially if you have to call sick or there is some home emergency that you have to tend to, such numbers can always come handy.
8. Locksmith
Losing your keys or accidentally getting locked out of your own house can be not only a bit embarrassing, but it can cause you a lot of inconveniences too. During such times it is your locksmith who will come to your rescue. Always keep your locksmith’s number saved on your phone.
9. Vet
Do not forget about your adorable fur babies if you have any. Sometimes your pet dog, cat, rabbit or other animal may require immediate medical assistance too.
Keep all these contacts handy to save yourself some serious trouble and discomfort during the time of an emergency! Read more

Good and Bad Habits
I am a mother of a 30-month-old child. She throws tantrums for every small thing. From my point of view, a child uses their tantrum as a weapon for everything they want, and if you show them a green signal at that time for such things, then it increases day by day.
So, a straightforward rule: if they want anything, consider whether it is suitable for them and, more importantly, whether you will continue to allow it in the future; only then should you proceed; otherwise, ignore them and act as if you are not listening to her or sending her a positive signal. This will work 100%, and then you will analyse they will stop showing tantrums. Please don't say no to everything but prohibit doing such things that harm them. For example, if they want to play with water, then please don't stop them because this is the age they will love to play with water, but it must be in your observation.
When your child throws a tantrum because they need sleep or are hungry, we must examine what they want and say yes, I understand, and give a hug, and you will see that they will settle down within minutes. Sit down with your child while they are in a good mood and tell them about the nice and terrible things they did in the late morning and evening. At the very initial stage, we have to control these things. Sometimes this kind of thing will embarrass you publicly. The fundamental reason for this is that if we are spoiled excessively, the situation will deteriorate if it isn't controlled.
Right parenting results in well-behaved kids. And a well-behaved one will be a suitable person in future.

A. use nasal drops , that acts faster .
You should have proper consultation with your treating doctor , as some examination or investigations may be needful, so that proper medications can be given And the treatment can be done very properly.

A. since the follicle size is 18 to 20 mm your ovulation may occur within 24 hours also so if you have intercourse with in that time it will be more effective to get conceived
your endometrial growth is not good enough for conception but still you can just try

A. Hello dear! If your pregnancy is going on fine without any high risk factors then it’s okay. Still, would advise you to check with your doctor once before going further. Maintain a good personal hygiene routine and a healthy lifestyle
