10 Genius Hacks Every Car User Should Know
Sometimes people spend way too much fixing the simple things when it comes to their cars. Well, we're here to make your life a lot easier today. Whether you're scouring for info on cleaning those headlights, the best maintenance hacks, or something out of the ordinary, you're at the right place. Read about the top ten car hacks out there. It's pure genius and you won't regret it.
10 Brilliant Car Hacks That You Shouldn't Miss
Life isn't perfect.
Sometimes we're driving through the middle of nowhere and out of the blue, our car breaks down. Maybe some chips against the paint and there are no repair shops nearby. You'll even face situations when travelling when you don't have a lot of options for getting things fixed quickly. This is where car hacks come in.
We're not saying they're perfect but they do get the job done. And if you don't want to splurge big on little repairs, then these will definitely come in handy. But don't just take our word for! Try them out and see for yourself.
Here are 10 brilliant car life hacks that you wished you'd knew sooner.
1. Toothpaste for the Headlights
When it comes to removing fog or the glaze from those headlights, toothpaste is your best friend. Just a dollop of it and your trusty arm strength are enough to clean it up in a jiffy. Using toothpaste is one of the best headlight cleaning hacks out there. Make sure the bristles are in good condition though before you decide to dive in and use any car cleaning hacks.
2. Use a Tennis Shoe as Your Cup Holder
If your cup holder is too flimsy or simply sucks, it's time you get a tennis shoe out of the bag. Not only is the base sturdy but the opening is adjustable which means you'll be able to fit in cups of different sizes. A strong base also means that your drinks won't spill when you're driving, unlike those cheap cup holders. If you don't have a tennis shoe, then try a trekking shoe or anything with a firm base.
3. Warm Up Your Food with Your Seat Warmer
If you've got a seat warmer in your car and you're passing by a restaurant, you'll be glad to know you can keep your food warm with it. It won't heat up your food but it'll at least make sure it doesn't get cold and soggy at the very minimum. Next time you buy pizza, you don't have to worry about it getting cold and savour it on long drives.
4. Use a Cereal Box for Dumping your Trash
We all know how car trash cans never fit in most of the stuff and the space is just not enough. If that sounds like your problem, sub it out with a plastic cereal box. Line it up with a trash can liner and empty your garbage in that. Problem solved and the best part is that it makes things fit, making it one of the best car storage hacks for trash.
5. Remove Paint Scrapes with Nail Polish
If you don't want to fork out a bomb for any scrapes or scratches left on your car body, you can cover them up with nail polish. Although it doesn't sound fancy, it gets the job done. Just make sure to shop for the right colour. From afar, people won't be able to make out or recognize the chips and scrapes and that's good enough.
6. Get a Car Cooler
A car cooler is not only a fantastic way of storing your drinks and snacks in your car but it's ultra portable too. Most models these days work in both households and cars too and aren't exclusively built for your cigarette lighter. Some models also have a heating function in case you want to warm things up instead of cooling.
7. Pringles for the Pipes
If you're stranded in the middle of nowhere and your car has a busted pipe, don't panic - there is a quick fix. See if you have a Pringles can near you and patch it up with that. It's a temporary fix but this is one of the top repair hacks that'll help you out until you get to the repair shop.
8. Panty Hose for the Seat Belts
No money for buying new seat belts? No problem! Get some duct tape and pantyhose. Cut up a leg out of the pantyhose and use it as a car belt by fixing it on your seat by twisting the duct tape and typing it up.
9. Making your Very Own Car Air Freshener
If you want your car to smell nice, then shop for a couple of scented wax cubes. During the summer when it gets hot, these will melt and your car will smell so good. Put these in a salt shaker or an airtight container with holes in the lid to let the scent spread out.
10. The Bungee Hack
If your car is lacking room at the back for storage space or if you want to make the most out of your space, get a bungee cord. Tie it to the ends and slide in a couple of your grocery bags. This will help to keep them in place and avoid any spills too. Ingenious!
Life gets so much better when you spend less time worrying about fixing the little things and more time enjoying and living to the fullest. Hopefully, these car hacks will save you tons of hours of frustration when it comes to storage, maintenance, and cleaning. Although some of the cleaning hacks are temporary fixes, it's always a good idea to take your car to the repair shop if you've got the money, time, and convenience. However, if you are strapped for cash and looking for DIY alternatives, these will have you covered until then.

Samosa with Masala Chana
Samosa has the prominence of being designated as the food of the nation. No matter to what nook and cranny you go inside India, there will always be a local ‘halwai’ frying samosas in a huge kadhai, and the eager customers stuffing themselves with the universal snack. Given that this dish is omni-present, you can’t blame your kid if he yearns for a plate of this snack. The least you can do is, you can make samosas at home to make sure he is not indulging in the unhealthy road-side food. Our recipe will not only satiate his cravings, but also would tempt him to come back for seconds.

When to Consult a Fertility Doctor
If you have been trying to get pregnant for a while now but have not had much luck, you may wonder if it is time to see a specialist. The doctors who deal with fertility issues are known as 'reproductive endocrinologists'. A reproductive endocrinologist is a gynaecologist/obstetrics. Unlike before, there are now some medical interventions that can help you to have your own baby even if it can sometimes feel impossible.
When Should You See a Fertility Doctor?
Here are some guidelines that you must keep in mind when you decide to see a doctor for fertility issues:
1. Below 35 and Healthy
Couples of this age who are healthy are may take about a year to conceive. This is especially true if you have been on some kind of birth control before trying. If you have tried for a full twelve months without using any type of birth control and you are still having trouble getting a positive on your pregnancy tests, it is time to see your specialist.
2. Above 35
There is a peak age for everything, and it is no different with our reproductive age. For men, once they hit 40, it can become more challenging to have children. For women, 35 is the peak age to conceive, so if you have reached that hill or are over it, your egg supply may begin to drop. While it is still possible to have children, getting pregnant may not be as easy as it is before this age. If you have been trying for six months now, free of birth control but have had not conceived yet, consult your doctor.
3. Above 40
Once you hit 40, not only does the number of eggs your body produce start dropping, but the quality starts to drop as well. This means that there is a greater chance of having miscarriages or trouble getting pregnant. If you fall into this category, it will be best to consult a doctor right away.
4. Body Mass Index
Weight is very important when it comes to getting pregnant. If your BMI is either above 30 or below 18, you may have a bit of trouble conceiving. Reaching a healthy BMI is very important before you try getting pregnant to avoid any complications. Your doctor will be able to tell you if it is possible to get pregnant if your BMI level is low or more than the desired.
5. Thyroid Problems
Your thyroid is directly connected to your hormones, so if it is behaving in a problematic way, there is a chance that you may have some problems with conceiving as well. If you have a thyroid problem, consult a doctor to make sure that you will not suffer from any side effects with regards to conception. As per a study, thyroid problems are connected to fertility issues.
6. Reproductive Issues
Sometimes you are already aware that you have a problem with your reproductive system as they occur in the form of PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) and endometriosis. In such cases, you should visit your doctor immediately if you are trying to conceive.
7. Strange Symptoms
If you have unusual pain or don’t get your periods regularly, visit a doctor immediately as you may have a problem with your reproductive system that you aren’t aware of.
8. Multiple Miscarriages
You will know when it is time to see a fertility specialist if you have had some positive pregnancy tests but end up with miscarriages. Anatomic uterine problems like scar tissue or having a septate uterus, a condition involving a thin membrane that either partially or fully divides the uterus, can cause problems with pregnancy and may result in miscarriages.
9. Complicated Medical History
If you are suffering from a major health issue or have had medical issues in the past, you should meet with a fertility doctor to ensure that there are no side effects to your reproductive system. Some of these medical problems are diabetes, kidney or heart conditions, hypertension and cancer survivors. Even if you have regained normal periods, both men and women who have survived cancer should get their fertility checked as the chemotherapy can lessen egg supply and sperm count.
10. Family History
There may be a history of early menopause in your family where your mother or aunts may have reached menopause at an early age. If this is the case, you should have a check with the fertility doctor to make sure that you are aware of how much time you have to conceive.
Questions You Should Ask Your Fertility Specialist
If you have made up your mind that you need to see a fertility specialist, you should go prepared and carry along all your medical reports so that your doctor will be aware of your medical history. Your doctor will have a better idea of what the problem is. Here are some questions you should ask your doctor during your first visit.
What is causing problems in conception?
What additional tests will we be required?
Will the tests be covered by insurance?
Which treatment is the most successful and what are the rates of its success?
How long will the treatment last for?
Are there any side effects that come with this treatment and what are they?
If this treatment does not show any results, what treatment should we try next?
What else can I do to improve the chances of the treatment being a success?
You must keep trying to conceive and not give hope if you really want a baby. But, if you are above 35 or 40, you should have yourselves checked as early as possible as waiting may complicate things.

Teaching Religion: Tell Them What, Why and How, Not the Unrealistic Dos and Don'ts
In this world with diminishing boundaries, open thoughts and embracing cross culture traditions, sometimes we as parents, feel an urge to preach or teach our child about our country, its rich culture, traditions and religion!
In my last blog post, I mentioned about children being our reflection, not just in terms of looks, but also the way we think and conduct ourselves!
I want my son to understand all religions equally and that every culture, language and religion teaches us to keep on trying to be better than what we are today, be human, try to evaluate a situation and do what is right!
They should be taught the WHAT, WHY, WHEN, WHERE & HOW about a religion, not the distorted or polarised form of the DO's and DONT's which favour any particular section or gender in society.
All I want to for my son is that, like in mythology, (I shall quote Hindu mythology because I grew up learning that) the God, Avatar, Godlike, Halfgod and Demigod, everyone had some skills which they were sometimes aware of, sometimes not!
There Was Always Someone Elder/Dearer Like
A teacher
A teammate
A father-like figure
A friend
A deity they worshipped
Or a mother who reminded them of their abilities, what they were capable of and motivated them to transform into someone even wiser and a refined version of themselves.
All of them became Gods not because of their powers, but because their actions made the world a better place.
I want my son to grow as an individual who knows why any instance happened in mythology and that our actions always have repercussions...!
This post shall continue with the teachings of many Indian Epics, Puranas, and Holy Books!
And I'll share my thoughts, what I infer from them and tell such stories to my son at bedtime!
For eg.
Sunderkand is the story of Lord Hanuman's journey and his quest to find Mata Sita.
Lord Hanuman was oblivious about his power and strength until Jambvant praised him and even made him realize his colossal strength. This is exactly when he decided to start his voyage to search Mata Sita in Ramayan who had been kidnapped by Ravana.
In this case, Hanuman Ji forgets about the gigantic size he can achieve, that he could fly, etc. Because he was banished by Surya Dev when Lord Hanuman (in his childhood) tried to eat him.
Similarly, we as parents, know how much our child is capable of, we don't need to push them for doing things of our choice, instead motivate and confide in them that they shall choose the right path, that they are capable and should do things in good faith without forgetting their aim. One day they will be successful and throughout the journey, we shall be their guiding light and strength to cross all their hurdles.

A. Nasal blockage is very common, specially in small children because of the narrow nasal cavity. Any kind of saline drops like nasal clear will be helpful in dissolving the stuffy secretions, which can be taken out by vnasal aspirator gently also steam inhalation will be helpful also, try to avoid keeping the child directly under the fan.
