Teaching Kids To Measure Length, Breadth and Height
Children generally develop the basic concepts of measurement by comparing objects with each other. They need to play and experiment with a variety of things before they can move to using formal units such as inches or yards when describing or measuring quantity.
Learning to measure is an important and practical skill that’s frequently put to use in real life activities such as when buying groceries or painting a house. Teaching your child basic measurement concepts doesn’t have to revolve around solving problems on paper or math textbooks. Kids, by nature, are great observers and learn more by doing rather than listening or reading and this holds true for measurement skills than almost anything else.
Teaching Measuring and Comparing to Preschoolers
Through Fun, Everyday Activities
Talk about who is ‘taller' and ‘shorter' when comparing the height of family members.
Spread out a sheet of newspaper on the floor. Count how many books will fit on top of it.
Ask your child to build a tall tower up to about 2 feet in height by stacking up blocks.
Talk about the size of a tablecloth or bed-cover needed to cover a table or the bed.
Recording your child's growth on a height chart is a measurement activity for children that always gets them excited.
Roll out two ‘ropes' of different lengths using play dough. Tell him about one rope being shorter and the other longer.
Trace your child's hand or foot on a piece of paper and cut it out. Use it to measure the length of things such as a table or the bed.
Walk around objects and talk about how many steps it takes.
Use a stick to measure distances between seedlings when planting in the garden.
Another lesson in measurement for kids can be to point out the distance your car has travelled.
Through Visuals for Better Understanding
Children learn when they play. Being visual learners, they grasp concepts about shapes, colours and sizes all while playing with different objects. Measurement games for kids help them learn about length, breadth, height and area through playing with things such as play dough, blocks, ribbons and even scale model toys. While playing, they observe things like the size and shape of objects, how cubes can be stacked up while round objects can be rolled, how things fit together, and how one object is longer than the other.
Through Practice
Once your child is able to understand the concept of size and measurements, he can then be introduced to ways to measure things using different tools, whether it’s a ruler or a tape or something else. Then comes teaching the units of measurement to kids. He’ll learn how to express quantity in certain units of measurement like inches or centimeters and not just a general ‘big’ and ‘small’.
Kids need to be encouraged to learn such mathematical concepts through activities that teach measurement. By encouraging them to explore and manipulate objects, they gain the practical experience required to cement their understanding. Read more

In The Quest for the Perfect Bra
Wearing a perfect-fitting bra keeps you comfortable, gives proper support to your breasts and does wonders for your figure. But if you're not so sure about how a bra should fit and which ones to choose for your breast type, here's some help in your quest for the perfect bra.
Studies have shown that about eight in 10 women wear bras that don't fit them well. Aside from the obvious discomfort, the wrong bra will have your silhouette looking less than great and can even impact your health—you can suffer breast pain and back aches caused by improper support. Expectant moms and nursing moms, you want to take particular care when choosing bras because those that are too tight can cause milk ducts to block and lead to a build-up of milk that's really not kind on your breasts.
Side Effects of an Ill-fitting Bra
Bras that don't give you the support you need and don't seem to do much for your figure—sounds familiar? You're also a victim of an ill-fitting bra if:
The underband doesn't quite sit well.
Your breasts spill out from the top, sides, or below your bra.
Bra straps dig painfully into your shoulders.
You've maxed out the first two rows of hooks and have now resorted to hooking the bra on the last clasp.
The back strap rides up your back.
There are wrinkles on the cups of the bra.
Measure yourself
If you've experiencing the above side-effects and no amount of adjusting has worked, it's time to ditch your old size and re-measure yourself. Pregnant and nursing mommies, this goes without saying because your bra size will change until your baby is fully weaned. Here's a primer on measuring your bra size:
Band size: This is the bit around your rib cage just under your bust. Take a measuring tape and circle it around the area. If you arrive at an even number, add four inches to it to get your band size. If you get an odd number, plus five inches.
Bust size: Bust size is the measurement of your back to the fullest part of your breasts, which are the nipples. You'll need to round off your measurement to the nearest whole number for your bust size.
Cup size: Subtracting the band size from the bust size will give you your cup size. If the difference is an inch, you're an A cup. If it's two inches, you're a B cup. Keep adding a cup for every inch and if you fall between two cup sizes, round it off to the higher one.
Finding a bra style
Once you know how a bra should fit, it's time to start shopping for creations that suit your breast type. Follow the quick tips below to upgrade your lingerie drawer and step out in comfort.
If you are blessed with ample bosoms, you need more support. Pick push-up bras to lift and shape your breasts. Minimiser bras are perfect if you hate not being able to button up shirts because your breasts just don't let you.
If you have smaller busts, bras with a bit of padding are perfect for you. Balconettes and demi-cups can also give the illusion of larger breasts.
No matter your size, you can try front clasp bras and strapless bras when you want to slip into beautiful and sexy off-shoulder gowns with plunging necklines.
For everyday wear, a T-shirt bra is perfect as it doesn't have any visible seams.
When it's time to get in a workout, sports bras are the best bet as they keep breasts from moving too much.
If you're pregnant or nursing, maternity and nursing bras will offer the best support. The latter come with panels or flaps that you can pop open to feed your little one. You'll find them comfier too.
Bras are an investment so don't skimp on them. Whether you're a newlywed who's looking to keep the passion alive or a mom who's getting ready to welcome a new angel into her life, you need a bra that understands your body. Measure yourself every time you gain or lose weight and every time you're pregnant or lactating to get the most out of what these essentials have to offer. Read more

My Backbone - My Husband, Whose Presence Fills Me With Courage and Love
I still remember the horrible pain which stopped me from holding my 1-day-old baby. After a caesarean delivery, I was feeling so weak and withered. I was super excited to hold my bundle of joy but I couldn't and I had to console myself by just seeing her lying beside me. The very first day I tried to breastfeed her, I felt so much pain and my milk was not coming out. Once again, I could not feed and feel my baby. She was fed formula milk until I could feed her.
It was my husband who pacified me and managed to feed our baby; when my girl cried, he got up, held her in his arms and made her sleep, although my husband sleeps like a baby. During pregnancy, I used to puke during the night twice or thrice but I don't remember a day when he would wake up to help me. And now, he woke up whenever my girl made a little move. He stayed at the hospital with me without a single thought.
Three days later, I was discharged from the hospital and taken to my home. I took a bath and lay down on the bed, my girl sleeping alongside me. My husband came with a tray full of fruits and gruel and served me. He made sure of every thing that needed to be taken care of. When my girl peed and pooped, he changed her nappy; although we were in a joint family, he took the entire responsibility as he used to say, "This baby is mine too and I am her father how can I miss this opportunity to attach my baby with me". Those 7 days after my delivery, whenever my girl woke up in the middle of the night for 3-4 hours, my husband also woke up with her and walked around the room holding her. He made me take complete rest as my stitches were so fresh and I was prescribed not to lift anything heavy for 7-8 days, not even my baby, except for when I would be feeding her.
He consumed his leaves to stay with us for almost 2 months. Those days were the most crucial days where I saw the other side of my hubby who is caring and understanding, full of love and sympathy, and takes the full responsibility to look after our baby. I certainly say that he is my backbone. Even though I could not stand straight properly, he aided me emotionally and physically. I guess, the word 'soulmate' definitely made for him.

Amazing Nursery Organization Ideas and Tips
Even the most organized parents and caregivers may get overwhelmed by baby clutter. (It is conceivable that it multiplies rapidly.) And that's completely understandable - you're so busy being the center of your child's world that things are going to get a bit out of hand at times! Whether you're dealing with a poop-losion and looking for diaper wipes in the middle of the night, it's all too easy to become overwhelmed, especially when sleep deprivation is combined with an inability to locate what you're looking for.
Having said that, although life with a newborn may undoubtedly be chaotic, there are methods to maintain order by looking through newborn closet ideas and nursery dresser organization ideas. Utilize these space-saving techniques such as bookshelf ideas for nurseries to create a more orderly nursery quickly.
Best Ideas for Organizing Nursery Closet
Have you recently had a baby? We don't need to emphasize how crowded and unorganized the nursery becomes with baby things, clothing, and other necessities. What you need to assist you with that new parenting job are these oh-so-clever ideas for small nursery and DIY nursery storage ideas that make the baby room seem more lovely than ever while also keeping everything easily accessible.
1. Organize your diapering materials
Your changing-table routine will be more efficient, which will make life easier for both you and your child. Make the most of your time by having everything you may need on hand. Keep diapers, wipes, and creams in a basket or caddy, along with a cloth diaper or rag in case there are any unexpected accidents to clean up.

2. Makeover the clothes in your child's closet
The temptation to hang onto every bib and little onesie you're given is strong, but you'll likely end up with much more than you need. If your child's wardrobe is bursting at the seams with clothing, put any excess away for your next child or give them to a women's refuge. It's important to remember that you shouldn't require more than a week's supply of anything.
3. Decorate the nursery differently each season
While all of those handmade blankets and framed pictures are definitely worth preserving, you don't have to put them all on display at the same time - after all, who wants to spend all of their free time cleaning and organizing? With this, you can turn the closet into a nursery. Partition your seasonal décor into four piles, then rotate among them as the seasons and holidays change.

4. Look for a crib that has storage space built-in
Even though babies are small, their possessions vary from bite-sized to gigantic — and there is more than enough of them. To save space, look for a crib with additional storage (like one with shelves or drawers) where you can store extra crib sheets or bulk purchases, such as backup diapers.
[caption id="attachment_311850" align="aligncenter" width="564"] SOURCE: PINTEREST[/caption]
5. You can adorn open shelves with baskets
Wide shelves are ideal for storing baby toys and books – provided you have the time and energy to arrange everything perfectly. Line shelves with canvas bins and fill them with anything you choose for uncomplicated storage. A bonus is that when children are a little older, it is simple to keep this arrangement tidy.
6. Stock and back stock should be kept in different locations
It may seem a brilliant idea to keep your whole supply of a particular item or commodity in one place, but this is a mistake. Few helpful nursery drawer organization ideas include certain goods, particularly disposable items, like diapers and toiletries, that you must have quick access to but do not need to have your whole supply within reach at all times.

7. Build the baby's closet from top to bottom
If the clothing in your newborn's closet used to be for adults, redesign it to accommodate a pint-sized collection. You may increase the amount of room in your closet by installing second clothes rod a few feet below the existing one. Increase the amount of overhead space available by installing additional shelves, which are ideal for storing items you will keep for a long time.

8. Rearrange things according to who has access
If you decorated your baby's nursery when you were pregnant, you've undoubtedly realized that some of your pre-baby choices aren't serving you as well as they might. If this is the case, read on. Perhaps the backup diapers are kept too far away from the changing table, or the sound machine is kept on a low shelf where the baby can now easily reach. If you want to save time in the long term, consider scheduling an afternoon for a fast rearrangement based on what you often use.

9. Make use of the resources you currently have
The most effective organizational tools are often things that you already have. That over-the-door shoe organizer you never use? It's time to throw it out. Instead of socks, loveys, and ribbons, use such organizers to store them. Don't want to spend the money on a glider? The old chair in the basement may be just what you're looking for. Once you start searching for items that can serve two purposes, you'll see that they're all over the place.
[caption id="attachment_311844" align="aligncenter" width="563"] SOURCE: PINTEREST[/caption]
10. Maximize the available space
Save space in the baby's room by working smarter, not harder. For instance, can you store your child's dresser inside the closet to provide more floor room for playing and reading? Could you position a floor light behind the glider instead of in the center of the room? Being inventive with the arrangement may make a significant impact.
[caption id="attachment_311843" align="aligncenter" width="574"] SOURCE: PINTEREST[/caption]
If you follow these Organization and Relocation principles, you may create the structured nursery of your dreams. Now that all of your baby items are organized, you don't have to hunt for anything or go out of your way to get anything. We hope that this article helps you go through your transition phase.

A. many times and the most common cause would be due to accumulation of milk clots and sometimes it can be neurogenic pain and sometimes it might be a partx any local mass like lymph nodes or tissue pain.
if it is not improving with simple massage as well as simple hot compressesx and expression of accumulated milk then meet your doctor at the earliest for local examination.
