Is Eating Burgers during Pregnancy Safe?
Pregnancy is a time when your hunger can sometimes get the better of you and you want to eat something that is usually not considered really healthy for a pregnant woman or for anyone. There are many everyday food items that taste delicious but can have a bad effect on the health of your baby. One such food that you might crave for during pregnancy is a burger. Burgers and other junk food items though taste delicious, you will have to quit their consumption (or eat them in limited amounts) during pregnancy.
Can You Eat Burgers During Pregnancy?
Nutritionists usually advise pregnant women to refrain from consuming junk and processed foods during pregnancy as they are unhealthy and offer zero nutritional value to the baby. So if you are wondering if you can eat a burger from your favourite eatery, the answer is a firm 'no', but don't be disappointed. You can enjoy a homemade burger once in a while. As long as you choose the right filling for your homemade burger, you can enjoy it!
Are There Any Health Benefits of Eating Burgers While Pregnant?
There are no benefits of eating a store-bought burger, even if the restaurant or food-chain may claim that they use whole wheat buns or make their burgers from 'fresh produce only'.
Harmful Effects of Eating Burgers During Pregnancy
If you feel lazy and tempted to just go for a take-out burger from a burger joint near you, here are some of the harmful effects of eating burgers when pregnant that you should think of:
In case your burger comprises of high-fat meat and fattening toppings you may be consuming excess calories which can lead to unnecessary weight gain and even cardiovascular problems.
Sometimes the meat used to make the burger patties may be stale or undercooked which can increase the risk of food poisoning during pregnancy.
Pregnancy is the time when you may like to go in for a healthy and wholesome diet. Eating 'junk food'-concentrated diet during pregnancy can result in negative health effects. So, avoid making burgers a part of your routine diet while pregnant.
How to Make a Healthy Burger at Home
If you are craving for a burger, you don't have to order one from a store. You can fix yourself a healthy burger at home. Here's how you can make one!
Go in for finely ground fresh lean meat or chicken patty as it contains less saturated fat. Lean meat is considered a healthier form of protein which may positively affect the development of foetal tissue.
Add a lot of vegetables like chopped carrots, sweet potatoes, and tomatoes to your burger as it can provide the much-needed dose of potassium, phosphorus, calcium and vitamins A, C, B1 required for the wellness of pregnancy.
Make patties using black beans, quinoa, lentils, etc., as all these ingredients are full of minerals, fibre and proteins. These ingredients will help you tackle one of the most difficult pregnancy symptom constipation.
Spice your burger with herbs like thyme, sage, oregano which have antioxidants. Antioxidant during pregnancy, it will help avert birth defects linked to alcohol.
Burgers or other junk foods don't offer any nutritional value to a pregnant woman or her baby. If you crave for a burger or any other unhealthy food, just remember that it won't do any good to your baby - this thought will keep you from reaching for unhealthy foods during pregnancy. However, if you still want to eat a burger once in a while, you can make a healthy burger (with loads of veggies in it) at home and enjoy. Better yet, consult your doctor or nutritionist before including it in your pregnancy diet.

How to Teach The Pronouns I and You to Preschoolers
Your baby is growing up to a point beyond “mumma” and “dadda”. Now he recognises people and objects well but can't seem to wrap his head around the difference in pronouns. Here is how you can help your child understand the difference and the correct usage of “I”, “you”, “he” and “she”.
Is your child mixing up his me’s and you's? Have you been trying hard to teach him the difference and failing? Don’t fret, this is completely normal and we've got just the solution for you to easily teach your child his pronouns.
1. Getting Started
Language is a challenging milestone for all children and learning grammar is definitely not the easiest thing. Pronouns are confusing to a child because when you speak to him you refer to him as “you”. Your child with his natural tendency to mimic, will also refer to himself as 'you'. To tackle this mimicking, you need to point at your child and say “me” over and over till he mimics. At the same time, it is important to still refer to him as “you” while speaking to him.
2. Difference Between Boy and Girl
When a child understands the difference between “he” and “she” it gets a lot easier to learn pronounces in all their tenses. You can start by asking your child through pictures “Is that a girl or a boy?” You can use family or friends’ pictures or even characters from books. Keep practising this till your child gets the difference. To make it more interesting you can add a points system and a reward for correct answers. ||
3. Using Pronouns in Sentences
Once your child can recognise the difference between a girl and a boy, you can begin to teach him to use pronouns in short phrases. Ask a question like “who wants this chocolate?” and your child will respond with an “I want it.” This may take some practice before you can move on to sentences. You can continue showing the child pictures of people doing activities. You can say things like “he is riding a horse” and then ask your child “Who is riding the horse?”
This entire process takes time so it is important that you do not lose your patience. It is also important to resist the urge to correct your child every time he is incorrectly using pronouns. That may put too much pressure on him. Have faith in your child and be there to tell him the right usage of pronouns. Once he gets the hang of it, you will realise that patience was the key all along. Read more

Does Your Husband Help You With Housework? You'll TOTALLY Relate To These 8 Things!
Now, before we begin, let's make this clear - every husband needs to help with household duties because he shares the home with his wife! But these situations are about those blessed few of us whose husbands actually LIKE housework!
Housework is inevitable. You live in your house, it is going to get untidy or unclean and someone has to clean it. If you have kids then you'll have to clean way more often. While cleaning up isn't the only thing one needs to do in a house, it is one of the things that is unavoidable. Other chores include cooking, washing dishes, laundry, changing diapers, to only name a few. While there are some superwomen who actually manage to balance out all of the above on their own, some are lucky to also have husbands who love helping them out.
Here are 8 things you will totally relate to if you are one of these women whose husbands love to help you with housework.
1. Grocery Shopping Is One Big Adventure!
Shopping with your man means that he will use his strength to wheel those grocery-filled trolleys and heavy baskets for you with ease. That way you don't have to skip the 5 kg rice and 4 kg atta packets you would otherwise have to skip. He will also most likely pick out good sabzi and fruits for you while you wander off to look at some cosmetics and beauty products.
2. More House Parties and Hosting
If you have a hubby who really loves to help around the house, you know that house parties are both fun and relaxing. After all, you aren't the only one rushing to get entrees or tending to the bar by yourself. Also, post-party cleaning is taken care off. After that exhausting evening, all you want to do is sleep while your husband dearest gets the place back to its original form. He is amazing, isn't he?
3. Your House Always Looks Spic and Span!
People are always wondering how your house is always neat and tidy and will most probably compliment you for it. It is only fair that you give half the credit to your doting husband without whom most of it would fall apart. It takes two to tango and you are one lucky woman to have him around.
4. You're Never Left Hungry
He may not be the best cook but he doesn't mind filling in for a few nights when you're back late from work or if it’s “that time of the month”. Even if it’s just Maggi or a sandwich, at least you aren't sleeping hungry, no?
5. You Can Have Those Girl's Nights Out
You know your house won't fall apart when you leave for a few hours because your husband has got your back. Whether it is taking care of the kids or the dog, cleaning up that untidy living room or just being home to attend to the electrician, you husband will manage. You can go let your hair down with your buddies every once in a while. When you get back home, you can give him extra kisses for being such a great sport!
6. Having Kids Doesn't Scare You
If you already have kids then you know he is sharing the responsibilities with you, and life is not that stressful. If you are planning, then you are reassured that parenting with your husband will be simpler because he will do as much as he can to make your pregnancy comfortable. He will also share duties like nappy cleaning once the baby arrives, amongst other things.
7. Lesser Fights
Most men can be considered messy as per a woman's standards. And having a messy person living with you can build frustration day after day, leading to terrible fights. Socks lying around, wet towels on the bed, hairy razors in the bathroom, are you cringing yet? Probably not! Because your husband picks up after himself and is conscious of keeping the house tidy just like you are.
8. More Time
Sharing housework means that you both have more free time to spend with each other. Use that time to pamper your man and tell him how lucky you consider yourself just to have someone like him to cherish forever! Read more

Me as a Mother
Have you ever questioned yourself how am l as a mother?
A mother plays so many roles in her life, she is the director of the house, she handles so many task
as a wife, daughter in law, sister in law and above all as a mother.
Playing so many roles sometimes leaves behind me as a mother, my child, my responsibilities, not only raising him, providing him with comforts but also how is he going ahead with his friends, his likes , hobbies, ambitions above all my role to be there for him and support him to show him the right path.
We as parents be strict with them and sometimes even shout at them when they share something that they have done and are guilty of. We should understand that may be they thought we would understand them and that's why they came to us. This is the point when your child can become your friend, in such situations don't shout at them instead try to understand them and show them the right path .
In this generation where teenagers are more attracted towards drugs, drinks and all , we as a mother need to handle our child with immense care and teach him how dangerous this can be .
Today teenagers are taking decisions which are shocking, being a parent we must be aware of what our child is going through. There are some problems which they don't share with us, but if we become there friend, we understand them , we make them comfortable with us ,we can overcome this. Today where depression have become a common problem and drugs an easy substitute to overcome it. We need to understand our child and support him in every walk of life because little negligence can make him move that way.
Everyday some news is flashing the headlines regarding students committing suicide for just a silly reason, if we consider this, a big problem can be solved . So everyday if we spent some time with our children and know about them, we can change this things . So Let's wait and check that we playing our role as mother and as a first friend that our child needs in every walk of his life .
