FAQs
Have questions about diaper rash creams and curious about how to make the best use of them? Don't worry, we're here to answer. Keep reading to find out.
1. How To Apply Diaper Rash Cream?
Remove your baby's dirty diaper first and clean her bottom using wet wipes. Before putting on a clean diaper, apply a dime-sized amount of a diaper rash cream to your baby's bottoms. Wrap up the fresh diaper, wash off the excess cream from your hands, and you're done!
2. Should I Use Diaper Rash Cream Every Time I Change My Baby's Diaper?
The answer to this will depend on how often your baby gets diaper rashes and how sensitive her skin is. Most mothers apply diaper rash creams regularly as a preventive measure to protect against irritation and rashes. The best time to apply the cream is overnight since when babies sleep for long stretches, their bottoms are most susceptible to moisture and harmful irritants. If your baby is going through her teething phase, has a cold, or diarrhoea, you should use diaper rash cream at every change just to be safe.
3. Can I Use Diaper Rash Cream on My Newborn?
Yes, you can, as long as the diaper rash cream is made from natural ingredients and doesn't contain any harmful chemicals. For more information on this, you can talk to a dermatologist.
4. What To Look for in a Diaper Rash Cream?
The best diaper rash creams will contain these four ingredients - zinc oxide, calendula oil, lanolin, and aloe vera. These ingredients are known to hydrate and heal the skin from inflammation, and also protect it from harmful irritants. Thick diaper rash creams, pastes, and over-the-counter options are suitable for severe cases of rashes and irritation but it is always advisable to check with a dermatologist before using it, especially if you have a newborn on your hands.
Using diaper rash creams is a good practice which you'll be thankful for. There's nothing more emotionally aggravating for a mother than to see her newborn suffer the pain and discomfort caused by rashes. The good news is that these creams and OTC products have you covered, so your baby will be able to rest or move around in peace.

Health Benefits of Brown Rice for Babies
Following are some of the health benefits of brown rice for your baby.
Given the low possibility of brown rice containing any allergens, it acts as the perfect item to introduce your baby to the world of solid foods.
It has essential fatty acids which are important for the development of your baby.
With copious amounts of fibre in the rice, it is the best food to be given to babies having constipation.
Selecting And Storing Brown Rice
Here are a few tips on how to store and choose brown rice.
1. Uncooked Rice
When purchasing any packets of uncooked brown rice from the market, double check the expiry dates on them.
At home, these rice packets should be stored in the fridge. The reason is that the brown rice still has the oily germ cover on it, which is not present in white rice. If this is exposed to room temperature, the heat can turn the rice rancid.
2. Cooked Rice
Once cooked, the bacteria present in the rice can multiply rather quickly on storage. Ideally, the rice can last for up to 4 days in the fridge. However, it is best to cook only the amount of rice that is required and throw away any leftover to avoid infection.
Another way to store cooked brown rice is to cool it down quickly after cooking and freeze it immediately. Such frozen brown rice packets can be stored in the freezer for as long as 6 months at a time.
Best Way To Cook Brown Rice For Infants
A brown rice puree for baby is the best way to introduce him to brown rice.
This is done by cooking brown rice inside a cooker. A quarter cup of rice powder mixed with a couple cups of water should be stirred properly and constantly.
Risk Of Brown Rice Consumption For Baby
In very few cases, trace levels of arsenic have been observed in brown rice. On a general level, however, the chances of encountering arsenic are negligible when purchasing authentic brown rice and the health benefits are much higher.
Allergic Reactions To Brown Rice
Any allergic reaction that a baby has after consuming brown rice is probably because of other ingredients present in it. These are primarily gluten and wheat, which are mixed with brown rice, and may result in an allergic reaction.

FAQs
1. Does White Rice Cook More Quickly Than Brown Rice?
Yes, brown rice takes a comparatively longer time than white rice to be cooked properly. However, the cooking time can be reduced by taking the required amount of brown rice in advance and soaking it through the night the previous day itself. The same soaking water can then be used for cooking in order to retain all nutrients.
2. Is Brown Rice Syrup Safe For Babies?
The presence of arsenic in brown rice is something that has been observed in few samples. In a research, brown rice syrup was known to have an amount of arsenic that was nearly 6 times more than the safe amount. Although most people use brown rice syrup to sweeten food items, most baby foods do not and should not make use of artificial sweeteners or sugars.
3. Can Brown Rice Milk Be Given To Baby?
In case the baby is lactose intolerant or has an allergy to soy, brown rice milk can be given to the baby, after consultation with the doctor.
4. Is Fermented Brown Rice Safe For Infants?

5. Is Brown Basmati Rice Good For Infants?

6. Can You Give Instant Brown Rice To Your Baby?

Is Drinking Bottled Water Safe and Beneficial for Your Child’s Health? Find Out!
Water is life, and clean water means health.’ The question that arises here is, are we drinking clean water? With the market flooded with different types of RO purifiers, I am always confused when it comes to choosing the right brand of packaged water for my family. And that’s not all! Being the mother of a growing 5-year-old daughter, I am always scared of making her drink the water available outside while travelling. From the park to the theatre, from grandma’s home to a holiday destination - I prefer carrying an ample amount of filtered water from home with me.
With so many different brands of mineral water available in the market, I always wonder whether they really provide water in its purest form. However, I’d like to thank Bisleri for easing my worries and enlightening me on the quality of the water they provide to their customers.
Recently, I was invited for an educational yet fun-filled trip to the Bisleri plant with my daughter Vihaana. To my surprise, it turned out to be quite an informative trip. I learned how the most natural resource in the world, water, undergoes a series of purification methods, and yet, retains its mineral content.
#HarPaaniKiBottleBisleriNahi - this hashtag justifies the quality of the final product Bisleri provides its buyers. A symbol of goodness, trust and purity, Bisleri has been a household name for decades. It is the most trusted brand of mineral water and it has fulfilled its promise of providing safe, pure, and healthy mineral water to consumers for the last 50 years.
Each drop of water at the plant goes through a rigorous 10-step quality process. Every Bisleri production facility has its own quality testing lab that ensures every Bisleri product is made as per the quality guidelines set by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The Central Lab, located at the Bisleri Head Office, Mumbai, ensures that quality standards are maintained across all Bisleri units in the country. In 2018, Bisleri launched the world’s first vertical manufacturing plant for mineral water.
The visit to the Bisleri plant was an eye-opener. It gave us the knowledge of how mineral water is manufactured and purified. Before the approval of any manufacturing unit, all these tests are conducted on the water collected at the source. Ozonisation is then carried out to reduce the microbial load of the ‘raw’ water. Two tests are done on a weekly basis to monitor and control microorganisms in the sand filter outlet. Two tests are also done on a weekly basis in the carbon filter outlet for the same purpose. The iodine value is checked during the 4th test to confirm the efficiency of the activated carbon.
Two tests, the total coliform count and total plant count, are then conducted on a weekly basis to monitor and control microorganisms in RO filter outlet. This is followed by two tests conducted on a weekly basis to monitor the microorganisms in the water. Three visual inspection tests are performed on a daily basis to check the labelling and coding of the date, as well as the condition of the bottle and the cap. All these parameters should meet the standards before they’re dispatched from the plant.
Apart from these tests, seven other tests are conducted on the container every three months as per the BIS Standard. These tests ascertain the strength, capacity, and appearance of the bottle, and also test for any leaching from the PET (polyethylene terephthalate) plastic used for the bottle. Two tests are done on a weekly basis to monitor and control microorganisms in empty containers.
The final product undergoes a series of tests to confirm that the product meets all organoleptic parameters i.e., sensory and chemical elements such as the colour, taste, TDS (total dissolved solids) level, PH level, etc. The tests confirm that all the parameters meet legal requirements such as the amount of calcium and magnesium in the water, the alkalinity of the water, etc. The shelf-life mentioned on each bottle is accurate; the samples are tested periodically to ensure this. The final test measures the concentration of ozone in the final product. It has to be within the recommended level and is done on an hourly basis.
The knowledge I gained during this visit was immense. I was assured after this visit that the best packaged form of mineral water is Bisleri water indeed, and that I can give it to my daughter to drink without any inhibitions. My worry regarding the best way to quench her thirst when we’re not at home is at ease now. Moreover, I would now not hesitate to give her Bisleri water because of its mineral content too.
I’d like to thank Bisleri for erasing my misconceptions about mineral water. Also, I request all readers to consume Bisleri water without a doubt. If you have even the smallest of doubts, do visit the plant and you will be clear of your choice. Remember, the next time you're thirsty, pick up a bottle of Bisleri water. Each bottle of water is tested and checked to meet the highest standards of quality, so you can be assured that you're making the right choice! Thank you Bisleri!
You can visit the plant by booking a visit on https://www.bisleri.com/book-a-visit

This Pregnancy Breathing Exercise Promises to Cut Down Labour Time by 70%
Delivering a baby is perhaps the most painful process a woman goes through in her life. Most of us will agree that our little one makes it all worth it.Even so, the unbearable pain and discomfort one faces during pregnancy and delivery is never easy to prepare for or go through! However, a new pregnancy breathing exercise promises to not only make your delivery easier but, we promise, fascinate you VERY much!
So, what is this pregnancy exercise that’s becoming immensely popular and also immensely fascinating? It’s called Belly Pumping and is part of the “Bloom Method”, an exercise program developed for pregnant women.Belly Pumping essentially involves diaphragmatic breathing with deep core engagement, and helps expecting mothers prepare their body for a smooth, natural delivery.
Yes, yes - a lot of exercises promise the same things, so what’s different about this one? Well, simply by breathing, moms practising this exercise are able to SHRINK and GROW their baby bumps - a truly mesmerizing sight! Don’t believe us? Well, have a look for yourself:
https://www.facebook.com/ilovebeingamomcafemom/videos/1435044423220297/
So, Where Does The Baby Bump Go?
Well, the baby simply slides up your ribcage, that’s all! The baby slides upwards while the muscles contract and slides back down after. So, the exercise, while giving you a sense of empowerment and control, actually prepares your little one for birth!
As per founder Brooke Cates, first-time moms who follow belly pumping have to push only 20-30 mins during labour! Plus, they don’t face lower back pain either and develop much more endurance going into their births. The results sure do speak for themselves!
Talking about the reason behind creating this exercise regime, Brooke says she felt saddened by how women felt that they had sacrificed their bodies for childbirth, stating “Wow, what a negative way to see becoming a mother!” She wanted moms to feel powerful about themselves and their bodies - that are capable of going through these changes and still looking beautiful!
How to Belly Pump?
The belly pump is designed to keep your core muscles (like your pelvic and abdominal muscles) active during your pregnancy. Brooke explains how to do it:
The Belly Pump follows your breath with an inhale as the belly expands.
Exhale as you activate your pelvic floor and TA (your Transverse Abdominis muscle) together.
Keep the breath slow and controlled throughout the exercise.
Benefits of Belly Pumping
According to Brooke and other mums who have adopted the Bloom Method, there are many benefits that come out of it:
Maintains a connection to deep core muscles throughout pregnancy
Reduced lower back and pelvic pain, the two most common and unbearable pains a woman faces during pregnancy. This reduction in pain happens because your deep core is engaged and this stabilizes the spine and pelvis
Sends out de-stressing signals to both the baby and mom, keeping the body in a relaxed state as opposed to the fight or flight outlook many of us take on
Teaches women how to effectively push during labour. It has actually been reported to speed up pushing time by over 70%!
Reduced chances of Diastasis Recti, or a separation between two sections of the abdominal muscles faced by many women after delivery. The Bloom Method reduces the chance of this happening by creating a balancing effect while inhaling. This makes space for the baby during pregnancy and also keeps the core muscles strong enough to resume their original positions after delivery.
More stability to the postpartum body and helps speed up healing
These Women Tried Belly Pumping and Here's What They Have To Say
The exercise has become very popular ever since women who have tried it shared their experiences on the internet. Many pregnant and new moms have come forward to thank the founder of the exercise regimen and express how it helped them during delivery, especially during labour.
“I can’t thank you (Brooke) enough! I felt strong going into this delivery and feel strong now. I pushed her out in 10 minutes. So fast and so strong! My body feels incredibly capable and able to take on this recovery. Thank you thank you thank you"!!!
~ Sara G.
“If you are looking for someone to support, encourage and motivate you to keep moving during pregnancy and after I cannot recommend Brooke enough. She is a wealth of knowledge and puts her heart and soul into each and every client. My labor was intense and long however my body had never felt stronger. Thank you Brooke.”
- Dr. Hillary Rowenhorst, Chiropractor
But Is It Safe?
Exercise during pregnancy, when done correctly, is good for the baby. Studies have shown that exercise actually contributes to an increase in the baby's brain activity and this is from just 20 minutes of exercise! But that's just general exercise, right? Is Belly Pumping, fascinating as it seems, safe for the baby and the mom-to-be?
The short answer is yes, it is safe. It is safe both for the mom and the baby.
As per doctors, exercising during pregnancy is crucial, especially in the second or third trimester. The placenta grows the most during the time. Since exercise is good for blood circulation, the placenta of a woman who is exercising gets more oxygen and blood passing to it. This means that the more you exercise the larger and healthier the placenta will be – a healthier baby too!
However, please remember that it is never a good idea to suddenly begin exercising or trying out anything new mid-pregnancy.So, you should go for this exercise only if you have been active prior to pregnancy and in the first trimester. Brooke makes this pretty clear on the 'The Bloom Method' website too.
The Belly Pump has to be one of the most fascinating pregnancy exercises we have come across, and we had to share it with you. However, we strongly recommend that you must listen to your body first. What suits someone else may or may not suit your body. Never forget to consult your doctor before beginning any exercise regimen during pregnancy. Read more

6 Funny Stages ALL Of Us Go Through When We Try a Weight Loss Diet!
Our bodies - we've learnt about love-hate relationships from them! We love our eyes but hate our thighs, don't mind the curve of our smiles but not the curve of our huge bottoms...we're all like that, no? So we took the chance to humour ourselves on our quest to perfect bodies with these hilarious but true stages of dieting we've all gone through... go ahead, it's time to say “OMG yes! Been there done that!”
2 months to that beach vacation you've been waiting for and you are cursing yourself for not joining the gym 6 months ago. To make things worse, that tummy roll has only gotten squishier! Your mom says “Beta, jeera water pee lo, first thing in the morning” and your best friend says “4 cups of green tea a day, Babe” but you're so keen you mix all of these things up and decide to binge on a huge slice of chocolate cake. But it's homemade, you tell yourself. Trust me, your thighs may be thanking you but your brain is not happy! All too familiar, right?
We present to you, your dieting life in stages! Grab your green tea, ahem, cake slice, and read on.
The 6 Stages All Of Us Go Through When We Try a Weight Loss Diet!
Stage 1 – Overly Optimistic
You've got a Pinterest board titled “1 month to a new me” ready, full of dietician-approved recipes, motivational quotes with fitness models making you feel horrible about yourself, and you've even gone and bought yourself some workout clothes. Ready? You've got this! The first 3 days are on-point! You wake up early, drink 1 glass of warm water, lemon and honey. You follow up with a workout and then stuff your face with fruits (but not bananas, because you know that bananas are loaded with sugar and you really just cannot have sugar right now). Lunch is multi-grain rotis (just two, because that is what all the celebrities say they eat), sabzi without oil, and dahi. You follow with your second cup of green tea for the day. Life is amazing and you can swear your tummy roll is shrinking already!
Stage 2 – Why Am I Doing This Again?
Self-doubt. Can I pull this off?
Is this plan for hard-core fitness enthusiasts? Am I one of them?
Can I never eat gajar ka halwa again?
Is it worth giving up pizza for?
Beware, self-doubt kicks in hard during diet days. You are doing so well, and seeing differences; you are even enjoying your cups of green tea! Coffee breaks are replaced with water guzzling sessions but WHAM! Self-doubt hits you. How you wish you were guzzling sweetened fruit juice (because fruits are healthy, no? Ah, we know all the weight loss fun facts!). This leads you to your next stage of dieting.
Stage 3 - Trying To Remain Optimistic
Breathe, cravings happen to the best of us. Yes, your husband may be slurping his coffee extra loudly today, or the crunching sound of your child eating chips may be driving you insane, but hold on girl, you've got this! You tell yourself to breathe (all those Pranayams must work now!). Breathe, crunch on another carrot or celery stick, and move on with your day. This stage is hard and the weight loss effects nowhere to be seen. But you know you trust your willpower; diet plan is still going strong!
Stage 4 - Wanting To Give Up
That escalated quickly, didn't it? You are now seeing some minor changes, jeans are not as tight as before, skin looks brighter and you're telling yourself, it's okay, at least I'll be radiant in my beach vacation pictures. You are slowly moving dangerously close to giving up. If you close your eyes and hear loud, beeping sounds and see red lights flashing, this is your brain telling you that your diet is battered and on its way to the grave! Don't give up just yet, fight!
Stage 5 - The Lie
Uh-oh. “Just a little bite of Neha's birthday cake won't do anything. She will feel bad if I don't eat it, we're such good friends...”
NO! You have reached the stage of “lies”. These are the little messages your heart is telling you, disguised as your brain. This stage is an emotional trap and very few make it out still going strong. It involves guilt, anger, several conflicts with your conscience, and more! Tough love is the only thing that works. Reach out to a friend or someone that is rooting for this diet and get them to snatch that cake before it makes its way to your mouth and then to your shrinking tummy roll.
Stage 6 – The Fall
“RIP diet, we were good while we lasted but I just find myself being drawn towards the comfort and security that cake gives me. It's not you, it's me.”
You've taken the plunge. You binged and loved it. Your heart, your mind and your body are intoxicated and endorphins are oozing out like never before and you have no regrets. That beach vacay can have you with all your lumps and bumps because that's just who you are. Your Pinterest pins are replaced with “BeYOUtiful” and "Love your body". The fitness models have been replaced with curvy, thick women who are loving life just like you are and you are embracing yourself (and cake) like never before!
Congratulations! You've completed your version of a diet plan and you have had enough till the next big event comes up. Till then you've accepted that round is a shape and swimsuits need curves to hug and your curves are ready for it! We're with you, babe. Read more

A. It depends on moms and babys health I feel and suggest It's better to check with your doctor and follow their advise. That would be one of the best and safest option for your baby as of now. Take care.

A. I don’t think so ACv is going to be a problem but it would be better that you check with your doctor because Apple cider vinegar has couple of side-effects also also which a lot of people are not aware about so do not take it without your doctors advice and consent
