When it gets infected, the tube swells up considerably. As a result of the swelling, the mucus that needs to be cleared in the first place will fail to find a way out and remain stuck in the tube, infecting it further with the bacteria and other microbes.

7. Your Child Has an Ear Infection
Otitis is how ear problems are generally described as, with the primary ear infection being termed as otitis itself. Some brands of protein powder also have herbs such as ginger, anise, liquorice root, chamomile, and others used for performance enhancement which could affect foetal hormones.
If you want to take protein powder as a supplement during pregnancy, it is suggested that you consult your doctor which powder is suitable for pregnancy. While saccharin containing powder should definitely be avoided, other powders containing xylitol, sucralose, and stevia also have some uncertainty over whether they pose a threat or not. So it’s best to avoid the powders containing these ingredients. Furthermore, to stay on the safer side, it’s best to avoid all artificial sweeteners and protein powders containing them.
3. Fillers and Flavouring Agents
Fillers are substances added to protein powders to add bulk when mixed into a shake. They also give texture and consistency to the drink that makes it taste better. Some common fillers include xanthan gum, guar gum, palatinose and other ingredients that have little or no nutritional value. They can add some empty calories and make you feel fuller without any actual benefits. Flavouring agents are often devoid of any nutrition, and sometimes they are not all that natural as they claim to be. They are treated chemically and processed before making their way into the protein powders. So avoid powders containing fillers and flavouring agents.

Dairy products often contain traces of hormones such as rBGH (bovine growth hormone) which is not good for the foetus. Plant-based protein is good when it’s organic, and a good brand can always be traced back to its source.

Many of the products lately come with a warning label if they have ingredients that are unsuitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women or children, the same goes for protein powders. Usually, these powders contain substances such as creatine, taurine, caffeine, beta-alanine, acetyl L-carnitine HCL and a percentage of vitamins that exceeds your dietary recommendations. These labels allow you to choose safe powders, but not all of them come with the labels. Therefore, it is always a good idea to look into the ingredients and identify unsuitable substances.

Ingredients
For the tortilla (outer shell)
1 cup corn flour
4 tbsp maida
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
For the filling
2 cups minced meat/Rajma
1 tbsp oil
1/2 cup chopped onions
3-4 cloves crushed garlic
1 cup tomato pulp
1/2 tsp pepper powder
Finely chopped coriander leaves
Method
Tortillas (Outer shell)
Step 1
Combine the maida, corn flour, a little oil and water in a deep bowl and knead into a soft dough and divide into 10-12 balls.
Step 2
Roll out these balls into little puris and deep fry until you get a papad like texture.
Step 3
Drain on an absorbent paper
Step 4
Cool and store in an air-tight container.
Step 5
Alternately, you could also prepare the taco shells in your oven. Preheat oven at 375 deg and then bake the tacos at the same temperature for 10 minutes.
Filling
Step 1
Heat oil in a pan and in it saute the onion.
Step 2
Add the garlic and fry for another minute.
Step 3
Add the tomato pulp till the mixture leaves oil.
Step 4
Add to this the minced meat, pepper, salt and stir well.
Step 5
Let the meat absorb the spices.
Step 6
Vegetarians can simply replace the minced meat with a cup of boiled rajma.
Step 7
Fill the tortillas with the meat mixture and top with raw onions, tomatoes and coriander leaves.
Step 8
Serve hot with sauce.

Children found it exciting, staying at home, no school, no classes, just relaxed at home. Few days passed, then a month passed and soon it turned to months and now a year. All the excitement also turned into anxiety and stress. For many, it also turned traumatic and the worst experience of life.
We adults understood the situation and its outcome, and have nothing but to adjust to the scenario. Juggling between household and official work we somehow are managing to keep ourselves super busy and tired. However, if we look at our children, it feels painful to see them being trapped at home, missing their friends, the naughty and mischievous activities in school with friends. Missing the golden time of life at school. Unable to play with friends, laugh out loud and run around with friends. How can we help these little ones to compensate for the loss that they are going through in their life due to the pandemic?
Empathising with the children is a very important part of this stage. We have to make them realise that we too feel what they are missing and how low they feel.
And to help them feel a little better all we can do is be with them. Spend more time than usual, Yes we ourselves are too occupied with our double duties, however, still, we have to do overtime for our little ones.
This time has come in our life with many flaws and difficulties. But we also realise that this time has given us an opportunity to be with our near ones to the fullest. And we may not get this opportunity in our life ever. So doing the overtime is worth it. Introduce our children to our childhood which definitely was not so fancy as they have it today. Play games that you had played at home when you were small. This is something my husband and I did with our daughter. We played darkroom, blindfold and pick up the sticks with our daughter, and trust me, she was so thrilled to see us play the same way as she does. Yes, for us it was a realisation that we are old enough and can't catch or play the same way we did when we were young. But for that time, life took us back to our childhood with no worries. We even turned our lunch into a picnic by simply sitting down on a bedsheet and putting one over our head as a cover. This was a very daily task but just a little twist changed the full experience.
There are many activities that we fail to teach our children in their daily life, so one can make the best use of this phase. Working out together acts as a great method of getting things done and also learning new things. I have learnt that's it's not only the elders who have things to teach but there are many things that we too can learn in the course of time from our little ones.
During the lockdown, we have pursued mostly everything online, so the number of delivery boxes have increased. It's a fun and creative idea to turn those boxes into useful stuff like lampshades, dry bin boxes, canvas for painting etc. A great way to explore and let your child explore too and use their time constructively.
As the quote says 'Every coin has two sides', so the pandemic also has two sides - the negative and positive. Undoubtedly the negative side is on the higher side and one cannot ignore it. But if we try and search for the positive part, I feel the phase of the pandemic will be a little smoother to pass on.
This time will leave a long-lasting effect on our life. So if we can leave small happiness in our children's memory for future. Then it will not only give joy to them but also a smile on our face in this time of fear and uncertainty.
