10 Tips You Should Try If Your Child Doesn't Sleep Well Through The Night!
Do light and noise affect your toddler’s sleep? If yes, read our tips on how to create effective sleep conditions so that your toddler sleeps peacefully through the night.
There are babies who sleep through ringing phones or thundering storms. And then there are babies who wake up at the slightest of sounds; cooking sounds in the kitchen or sun rays coming through the window in the morning. If your child is sensitive to light and noise in babyhood, chances are that he has the same sensitivity even as a toddler.
How to Create Effective Sleep Conditions for Your Toddler
Here are some tips on how to create effective sleep conditions so that your toddler sleeps peacefully through the night:
If you are breastfeeding your child, wean him off during the middle-of-the-night feeds. The same applies for bottle feeding. It will help your child to sleep without disruption. But take care your child is not hungry before he goes to sleep.
Encourage activity during the day. A toddler who is active during the day and has exposure to sunlight sleeps better at night.
Make your toddler used to light and normal household noises like cooking sounds in the kitchen, vacuum cleaner, lawn mowing, etc. Once he gets used to these sounds, he will be less bothered by them during his sleep.
Monitor your child’s naps. Most toddlers between the age of 1 and 2 years require 10–13 hours of sleep. Usually, this sleeping time is divided into afternoon nap(s) and nighttime sleeping. However, some toddlers might outgrow their two daytime naps and come down to one, while some might do away with daytime naps altogether. If you feel your child’s daytime nap is interfering with his night time sleep, you may want to reduce his afternoon sleep or do away with it. Also make sure his daytime nap gets over by 3 pm so that there is a sufficient time interval till his sleeping time in the night.
White noise helps. A fan whirring, wind chimes playing, sound from the bedroom clock or an actual white noise machine may help your toddler to sleep well.
Small kids find comfort in routine. Try following a consistent bedtime routine. Bathe your toddler in lukewarm water, change him into his night clothes, sing rhymes or read stories to him. Soon your child will associate these activities with sleep and get prepared to sleep.
Keep nighttime activity a low key. Try not to indulge your child in stimulating games or activities just before his sleeping time. An excited mind might keep him awake till late.
Prepare his room according to his preferences. Keep the lights dim, temperature comfortable and his favourite cuddly blanket/ soft toy by his side. If your baby is afraid of dark, put a soft night-light in his room. This will relax him enough to sleep.
For your light sleeper, you may want to invest in light-proofing his room and put thicker curtains to block the outside light.
If your toddler is scared of sleeping alone in the room, try to reassure him that you or other family members will be around and will come to his side as soon as he calls.
A light sleeper stays the same even when he grows up, but soon he learns to put himself back to sleep on waking up in the middle of the night. So, no need to fret! Read more

Well This Changes Everything (A New Mom's Confusion Post Delivery)
I casually took the test one day, and the 2nd line was so faint that I peed on it a little more for it to give me the news. Although still faint, boy did that line smack me right where it had to...right in the face. Then it all began. I had the chance and behaved like a complete baby. I saw the shots and took them and excelled at being irrational. Drove the big guy crazy with my pregnant mind games of mood swings, food cravings and other cravings ? Big guy got his way as well when he wanted his baby girl to listen to classical music through the placenta (btw dint know what it was or if it were some fancy word to describe a mundane flower). So he had me take music lessons till I was panting to sing the Aarohana of Kalyaani Raagam(very cool Raagam to be honest). You know what moms say right.. girls take after their dads.. well I didn't have high hopes for this child ? baby shower was a jackpot! The free stuff came in like pink confetti. Well soon I was in the hospital. When the big guy saw the nurse unpacking the pink baby stuff, he couldn't wait for her to arrive. Well.. it was D day, and I was on the table when only one thought kept crossing my mind when they were cutting me up. How much it seemed like fruit ninja(the game), except I was the fruit. Now I like to be surprised but, how did my baby girl have a little dangler down there?? I had no idea for a minute there!!
" Oh BOY ??"
P.S. just so I'm clear, it is a boy. Yeah. That's it.

My daily routine with my two year old baby in this lockdown period
This global pandemic has made every one a bit more busy and preoccupied. But at the same time it has undoubtedly provided an opportunity for families to reunite. Inspite of all the negativities prevailing all around its time to reconstruct some positive vibes and have a healthy home environment.
I usually wake up at 7 o clock in the morning. My baby also wakes up by this time. The first thing that I do when he wakes up is that I feed him with milk. After that I do all my household chores with my baby jumping here and there, talking to us and playing all around. Then I bath him. After this we have our breakfast together. Whatever we have in our breakfast whether oats, poha or anything I try to offer each of these things to my little one.
After having breakfast I try to engage my baby in some sort of fun activities including learning based activities. Before lunch I feed him with some seasonal fruits, salad and curd. At lunch time I try offering him whatever we have together. Sometimes he haves chapati with some cooked vegetable. Other times we have rice and some vegetables curry.
After having our lunch we together take a nap. My baby usually sleeps for around 2 hours during this time. When he sleeps I try finishing my remaining household work.
When he wakes up I offer him some sort of healthy snacks like makhanas, almonds, multigrain cookies, cakes and all. At around 5 pm I again feed him with milk.
In the evening we play together. Again I try to make him learn various new things. We also go for a walk together. At our dinner time I again offer him what all is cooked. Sometimes he eats sometimes he refuses. But again it depends on your level of satisfaction.
Before going to bed to generally read one or two stories for my baby. While listening those he usually falls asleep and this how my day too ends for an altogether new morning. Read more

A. Yes it is the what part is that your child is kicking if you feel that there is a movement of your child whether it is a cake or slight movement also you know that your child is doing fine so there is no problem in that if the movement is less it’s completely alright

A. Nasal blockage is very common, specially in small children because of the narrow nasal cavity. Any kind of saline drops like nasal clear will be helpful in dissolving the stuffy secretions, which can be taken out by vnasal aspirator gently also steam inhalation will be helpful also, try to avoid keeping the child directly under the fan.

A. You can check with an ovulation kit if it is positive then you can certainly go ahead with the conception because ovulation kit is going to give you 100% clarity whether you are ovulating or not with that you can try practising if you can conceive the same time
