Shhh! When Not to Share your Preteen's Secret
Agreed, you've never kept a secret from your husband. But now you face a new dilemma - whether to disclose your child’s secret to your spouse or not. Don’t be ridden by guilt. Find out why it’s sometimes ok to keep your child’s secrets from your husband.
It is common for pre-teens to have secrets; they are growing up and fighting adolescence. It is good news if they trust you enough to divulge their secrets to you. However, there could be times when they request you not to divulge their secrets to daddy. Now, it won't be very easy for you to hide facts about your children from your spouse, especially if you both share a strict no-secret policy. But, at times it’s not really a big deal. So, go ahead and keep that lid shut without guilt.
4 Secrets your Preteen Would Want to Keep From Dad
1. Not-a-big-deal secrets
Gauge the intensity of the situation. Is the secret of minor nature? For instance, is it about a tiff with his or her best friend? Or, has your child scored a lower grade than last time and is too scared to let dad know? In such cases, when your child says ‘Please don’t tell Dad,’ it’s okay, really. Tell them that this time you won’t, but you don’t like keeping secrets from dad. This'll give your children a fair idea that all facts might not remain hidden from their father.
2. Girly secrets
If your pre-teen daughter is embarrassed about her new physical developments or in case she has got her school uniform stained during her periods, she wouldn’t want you to discuss these things with your hubby. Fair reasons to keep your preteen’s secret from your husband, don't you think?
3. Fun-stuff secrets
If your kids are planning to host a surprise birthday party for your spouse and want you to keep it a secret till the D-day, then do honour their wish. By not disclosing their plans in advance, you can bring more joy to your family. Also, if as a family, you're playing a board game that your child wins by bluffing, then keep that secret intact too. These are harmless secrets that fail to make much of a difference if kept from your spouse.
4. Gossip
Pre-teens and teenagers could get a little opinionated and judgmental at this stage. If your child gossips about some relative or family friend and expresses dislike towards that particular person but doesn’t want father to know, then its okay for you to keep their opinions to yourself.
It’s very important to gain your pre-teen’s confidence. If you disclose secrets every time, then you risk losing your child's confidence in you. Also, in future, they may hide some serious facts that they would have otherwise confided in you. However, if the secrets are about any unwanted touching, any kind of abuse, bullying or anything that bothers you too much, then don't hide it from your husband – no matter how earnestly your child requests you to do the same. These are issues that need parenting from both of you! Read more

The Postpatrum Trimester - the trimester where mother bonds with baby
We all have heard about the three trimesters of Pregnancy but nobody talks about the most intense trimester which awaits after that. Same way as in movies they don't show the life after 'Happily Married'.
The Fourth Trimester
meaning
A period of three months where you question your decision of being a mother (the most). The time when your body gives up on you but you need to comprehend the baby's signs and needs round the clock. A span of time where you get the most advice about how to handle your baby.
For me, those three months were the hardest three months of my life and will always be.
It is said that you feel the instant connection as soon as you hold the baby but I didn't get to hold him that long. I had a C-section so was bed-ridden for 2 days and when I was in a position to hold him, he was admitted in NICU due to high levels of Jaundice. The days and nights were on stand-by waiting for the call from NICU to feed him. As he was too weak to suckle in what he needed, the cycle of every two hours of pumping started, to help the let-down and later to relieve my engorged breasts.
Once he was back home, fully recovered, I was all ready to enjoy the motherhood like my pregnancy but I was stuck in an endless loop of breastfeeding and pee-pees and poo-poos and Do's and Don'ts.
As soon as my breasts took a deep breath after an hour long feeding session, it was time to change the wet nappy. Here, I changed his nappy and there my body told me to change the pad. I had just finished eating and there was another meal being prepared for me with dripping ghee. As soon as I dozed off, I was woken up by the meek cry of hunger.
My nipples hurt like hell as he was biting into them and after almost a month, I came to know that I was latching him wrong. We were struggling with the latching and were trying different positions to help us both but the elders couldn't resist telling me how new techniques were useless and theirs were the best.
I had read that breastfeeding makes you loose weight faster but that hanging belly and the outgrown hips were not loosing an inch even after feeding and expressing the milk round the clock. Stretch marks were engulfing my tummy and hips and thighs and even my breasts.
I was so exhausted that I wanted to go back to the time when I was pregnant. The third trimester looked so much better now.
When someone mentions about having another kid, I just tell them that I might be ready to do it all over again minus The Fourth Trimester Read more

Contribution – First Parenthood is a thrilling experience as no-one could imagine it.
Parenthood is not a word, itself is an institution of its own unique kind. It can’t be defined in a word or in a few sentences. It is as larger as this universe. I dare to write something, a little bit of, about my first parenthood and it’s experiences. I am a Father of a 16 months old baby boy. We delighted to have our little one after almost 11 years of our marriage. That’s a different topic out of this story. Initial first two months for upbringing our little baby, we faced lots of difficulties. Cause we were alone at our home, both we and our little baby only. Our parents are staying at some other place by their livelihood but it’s not that they were missing all d time. Since my wife’s pregnancy until delivery, they cared, helped and delivering all possible deeds, as other does.i had to look after my work as well as for my baby. Most of d time my wife alone had played d sole responsibility towards our little loved one. But a nightmare came in our life when our baby aged between 3 to 4 months only. He developed a rare skin disease.Red spot and rashes occurred all over his body. We shivered and traumatised to see our dear one suffered and cried.it was so heart broken to see our little baby cried badly in panic when itchiness and bitchiness played in his body. He was not able to sleep properly at night and even we awakened whole of d night to look after our baby. We ran from doctor to doctor but no result came.even we performed some rituals for our piece and for our baby’s recovery. we got almost shattered at that time. No hope of ray coming at anyway. Our little baby faced and fight back against this bad disease at his own little little developing mind.He is a real fighter. He proved it. Suddenly a miracle happened. God exists. A doctor or God comes our way and under his brilliant diagnosis and medication, our child recovered gradually.Really, just I can say only, that doctor saved our baby and above all, “blessing from God”. Now our little one becomes a child in front of our eyes, living and playing happily. We have been learned a lesson from that trauma that parenthood is not as easy as it looks from outside. It is a commitment itself. Nothing can compare with d parenthood at any cost. It is very beautiful and wonderful. No matter comes, when child first comes. We parents go to any stage, whatever be d situation, when matter comes about d life of our child. Childhood, Adulthood, Parenthood and Oldhood are four pillars of everybody’s life. Noone can escape from it. Even animals played their role in upbringing of their siblings. We are now living in a place of fast development, rapid changing of climate, polluted air, water or everything, fast pace of livinghood, super competition in all, but above all, under all circumstances, we have to do best for our little child in health, sports, cultural activities, education, carrier, jobs, business, wedding untill end, in all aspects. Then we can proudly announce that our parenthood becomes successful. “When there is a will, there is a way”. This famous saying fitted well in our case where we lost all d ray of hope for our little one. Don’t loose, do fight, fight and fight back as our little angel did at a little age, we,,not… actually our brave boy won d battle. We won at last. Our parenthood won.
